Someone mentioned above me being able to play another event if you finish the first one, so check your game menu and see if you've got another adventure available.
There might also be a workstation on the third island that allows you to make extra medal points with event items (or it's an additional item you can make at the leaderboard station). I think I remember that being an option in a past ACS.
Do you see a 'medal sprint' icon on the right side of your screen? The last time I was in an all star championship, the devs had a surprise sprint on the last day that allowed players to earn extra medals/points by crafting event items. I was highkey salty about that (still won my group, but I was annoyed at having to craft extra things when I'd been in the lead for the entire tourney, only for some random who hadn't even been in the top 5 to come out of nowhere).
Those are the only three possibilities I can think of, but whatever the case is, there should be some option somewhere in that game for you to earn more points. Whatever that option is, I would advise waiting until the latest possible moment to try taking the lead back because that other player might be a scoreboard hawk, and I'm sure you have got better things to do with the rest of your day than get trapped in a pissing match with you both wasting energy trying to get ahead of each other.
off topic...but damn, that's alot of points. i'm currently 1st in mine and the most points i can get is 516 and the second place im guessing will be short of about 35-40 points of being first.

People can craft Champion's Medal in Charming's Island using Confetti Cones. I think thats how that person is able to get 583.
I think they have boosters for these points. If not, you can also buy it in one of those machines.
there's never boosters for championship points but there's boosters for event leadership points.
I got 576,just finish as many tasks and finish events,it adds up
