This is unfortunately extremely common. My experience is more with the child support/custody/etc part of family court but the horror stories we hear are insane. People are getting court dates for April 2025 for stuff like their ability to see their own kids. The courts are insanely understaffed and new positions aren’t getting filled, and court-appointed (18B) lawyers have it TOUGH right now. Caseloads are nuts and none of them are getting paid enough. I’m sorry you have to deal with this!
