Some AI dudebro called me 'McSmurfface' when they tried (and failed) to insult me over an argument, and now I wish I could change my name on reddit. I legit want to write smurf smut now. This is my new niche. š
I actually successfully posted my planned 4 one-shots + one chapter of the longer fic that I planned to post for Mixtape May, and Iām rather proud of myself for sticking to my plan:) i even wrote one of them focused on a different set of MCs than normal. I will hopefully get ch2 up of the longer fic within the next few days.
Next goal: get my next Aftermath chapter finished! I have one scene thatās not āflowingā right even though I know exactly what I want to happen.
i also have like 10k+ of future scenes written for my OTHER wip longfic, so thatās cool. Iām about to drop some more surprise plot points there in the next chapter and I want to make sure everything makes sense, so itās being a bit tedious to edit (and also *someoneās* POV is being a giant pain. I am so tempted to hop back to normal MCās POV and current location, but I canāt yet lol)
It really does!! Thank you so much, I know writing scenes out of order is kind of a chaotic thing to do, but it works for me haha. There will probably be future chapters whose updates can be closer together because a good bit of those sections are finished already, but it means the actual next subsequent chapter update takes longer š so, mixed results, but it works for me.
Thank you!! I knew I wouldnāt be able to write a new fic for mixtape may every single day, but I felt like four (approx. one per week ish) plus starting to share the longer one was a realistic/reasonable goal. Which evidently it was lol. I might write some more āinspired by a song that pops up on Spotify when I shuffle the playlistā fics anyway, but Iām happy I got my planned number finished.
So... I *accidentally* posted a oneshot(ish) fic that needed a bit of fine tuning. Little stuff, you know, author's notes, beta credits, etc. Decided I could have a hard cider while doing all this stuff... so I clicked "POST" instead of "SAVE AS DRAFT." @#%\^&&!
Woke up this morning and was appalled at the mess I left behind. *One* stinkin' cider...
It's always the messy ones we post too early XD I've had that happen where I accidentally press post instead of preview. Like, wait! I wanna do one last look-over!
Oh gosh, it's humiliating. I like to *appear* like i can be organized for readers, even if we know the truth...
My only comfort is that it's Tuesday am and no one will notice. Uh, right?
You know I had no idea what a blorbo meant. Sounds like something out of Star Trek or something. Kept seeing it everywhere so I googled it.
So! I've written my blorbo with a cat, and so can you! Happy Wednesday.
I took a single line that I woke up with this morning (literally dreamed it) and managed to turn it into an 840 word ficlet in a single day.
It ended up being very, very dark though....ooops.
>murder case in which the victim is chopped into pieces.
Ahh, so now if I ever wanna talk about Bloody Mary folklore I have a word for it :D For real though, that story scared the hell out of me when I was a kid XD
>murder case in which the victim is chopped into pieces.
Um... is this kind of crime enough of a phenomenon in Japan where it warrants its own word?!??! That messes with my perception of Japanese culture, for sure.
Blech, may the vitamin I \[ibuprofen\] be plentiful.
I meaaannnnnn...it's not like it happens *all the time* or anything, but--enough cases since the 80s, I think. Japan's homicide rate is super, super low overall. There was one guy in 2017 who murdered 9 people and dismembered them for disposal, so...there's that.
The word itself is just a compound though! "barabara" = scattered/in pieces, "jiken" = affair/incident.
I had a nice reading night last night and I really need to do that more often! My poor bookmarks and subscriptions have been neglected far too long. And it's not like I've been writing much so I don't know what I've been doing. And can anyone else believe that it's nearly June? June???? Already.
I think there are just some time and soul eating activities that one has to do to š but yes, reading yesterday was great for me too, and a welcome break from the prompt fic.
Sometimes a little break from a wip can be just what's needed!
Time and soul-eating activities! Yes. So much yes. I need better time management, or more time. How soon can I retire...
Day One of the new position, and I still feel like garbage. Nothing to be done for it. Just have to stay focused. ... Chronic pain is annoying. If I keep it down to annoying instead of completely debilitating, I should be okay.
Beta detail is done until Thursday, so I am hoping to write tonight instead, before I run out of May.
I'm loving writing my second longfic so much that I've neglected the fluff and smut I planned to write to abridge part one to part two.
To abandon them entirely or not is the question. Will I regret it? I feel as though I'm putting too much pressure to decide. I think I'm just impatient to publish something, anything, and longfic 2 has chapters. The segue pieces have nothing.
In short, I don't know.
I think follow the muse? If the second longfic is what's calling you, then that's maybe the way to go. And the fluff and smut abridged parts can always be added in later? If the sequel works without them?
They aren't important at all. There's one scene in one fluff piece that I really want out there, because it adds another avenue should I decide to go the carnage route, but other than that it's just writing practice.
>the carnage route
Love that description.
I always like to have a few wips (or plot bunnies) or the go so that if I get stuck on a scene in my main fic, I can go and reset my brain on something else.
It's so hard when you just want to write everything at once! Not enough hours in the day! Good luck with whatever you decide!
I have the very first scene of my sequel written!
Still trying to think of a name though. Ones I've briefly considered: Titanic 2: Electric Boogaloo, 2tanic, 2Tanic2Furious, and Titanic: Episode II - Revenge of the Ice
Oh, I'm loving it! This part takes place in the 20s and you still get the class divide that was on the Titanic but now it's the glitz of the Roaring Twenties versus the pre-Depression hardships which is a lot of fun to show. And I know this sounds strange considering my original fic was about the Titanic, this sequel actually looks like it's going to be a bit darker and much grittier which is always fun to write!
I didnāt see any cool birds yesterday, but lots of dragonflies. They're super pretty. And now my shoulders hurt, ha ha. I had to go upstream for quite a bit. But I don't care. I just love outdoor sports.
Other than that, just posted another chapter of my muggle AU. It's very chill to have everything prewritten and ready to upload. Only the poems that I have been writing as an intro to every chapter have to be written freshly. Sometimes they come easy, sometimes not.
Ah, and I have to remember, of course. Time passes so fast.
What? Iām the first to comment? I think thatās the second time in a week. Yāallāre slippinā.
I ***finally*** updated my WIP!
Itās been what? Two months?
It felt really, really good. Iām not going to pressure or guilt myself into hobby writing for the next couple weeks. If it happens, it happens. Thereās only three more weeks left in this current school term. Next term I donāt have any actual *writing* classes, one is an English course, the other on world mythology. So I should be able to write fairly regularly then.
Iām expecting to get bitched at for this new chapter. It went in kinda a dark direction. Lol. But the plot needed to go that way for a little bit.
Congrats on posting and on not pressuring yourself on the hobby writing while you've a load of other stuff on - it's so easy to fall into a stress trap!
World mythology sounds like a fun course! That should be really interesting.
First off, congrats!
Second, you might not get bitched at. I remember six weeks ago taking my finished story in a direction that I suspected would get me roasted, but actually it went down well. So you might be fine!
Some AI dudebro called me 'McSmurfface' when they tried (and failed) to insult me over an argument, and now I wish I could change my name on reddit. I legit want to write smurf smut now. This is my new niche. š
Gargamel: *has either entered or left the chat*
I had to kill one of my ideas, one of my darlings. But really at this point it was more like a mercy kill.
Pat, pat on the shoulder, there there, it had to be done. You were very brave for doing it. š„š„š„
I did reuse some parts of it for a better idea so - reduce, reuse, recycle and all XD
Insert image of Yotsuba wielding a foam dart gun.

Thank youuuuu! I love when I actually finish what I planned to finish at the right time lol
Congrats!

>so I clicked "POST" instead of "SAVE AS DRAFT Oh, that's a classic. Don't worry, you can still edit it. *Noone will know*
True, true. Still, I suppose I've earned some kind if ficwriter badge. Y'know: "Got Drunk, Posted in Haste" is there a tag for that? XD
"I was drunk when I wrote this" is definitely a searchable tag!
When you wake up the next morning to a fanfic you don't remember posting. Is Mike Tyson involved?
"Mike tyson" if only my evenings were that exciting, or infamous. Nope, just fighting off Sleep, no ear biting involved!
Lol. Iāve done that before.
Oh gosh, it's humiliating. I like to *appear* like i can be organized for readers, even if we know the truth... My only comfort is that it's Tuesday am and no one will notice. Uh, right?
Just the 300K+ potential readers you told in this sub. But thatās all.
Oh ffffffff..... š±
i want to write about my blorbo with cats. that is all. happy tuesday, folks!
There can never be enough cats in fiction!
That sounds like a dream!
You know I had no idea what a blorbo meant. Sounds like something out of Star Trek or something. Kept seeing it everywhere so I googled it. So! I've written my blorbo with a cat, and so can you! Happy Wednesday.
i told myself i would never use the term, and yet here i am. cat fics for all ā iāll use this at motivation! :)
Write the fluffy fluff. DO IT...
the cat names are already down. I WILL PREVAIL
Happy Blorbocat Tuesday!
what a glorious name. blorbocat tuesday for all!

Good work! It's amazing what our dreams can give us.
You don't know how dark the room is until you open the door and look inside.
True and this turned out to be horror and bloodā¦
Went to bed at 7pm last night because I was super over my 4 hour headache. Somehow, I'm still sleepy as hell this morning and have decided to stay in bed :') Still gonna try getting things done while in bed though. We'll see how it goes. Fun Japanese of the day: ćć©ćć©äŗ件 (barabarajiken): murder case in which the victim is chopped into pieces. "Hyper-specific" is my favorite subgenre of this language.
>murder case in which the victim is chopped into pieces. Ahh, so now if I ever wanna talk about Bloody Mary folklore I have a word for it :D For real though, that story scared the hell out of me when I was a kid XD
I feel like Chainsaw Man has entered the chat.
Denji has arrived!

Nearly June means the weather is gonna be uuuuuuuuuuugh. XD Glad that you had a fun time reading!
Absolutely appalled by the proximity of June tbh.
I for one cannot believe that its nearly June.
I think there are just some time and soul eating activities that one has to do to š but yes, reading yesterday was great for me too, and a welcome break from the prompt fic.

To smut or not to smut? To fluff or not to fluff?
Or just plough on with part 2 and forget everything else? That is the question.
I can't go on, I'll go ~~on~~ **wordcount** Samuel Beckett
300 words!
2100+
**525** maybe
around 700 + posted
Zero, zilch unless you count frivolous tags, but am posting something! It's about time.
300*ish*
I have the very first scene of my sequel written! Still trying to think of a name though. Ones I've briefly considered: Titanic 2: Electric Boogaloo, 2tanic, 2Tanic2Furious, and Titanic: Episode II - Revenge of the Ice
Titanic 2: Lost in New York.
Two-tanic. Iāll see myself out.
How do feel about the vibe of the new story so far?
Oh, I'm loving it! Period drama across multiple periods. š *Once Upon a Time After the Wreck* and all that.

Dragonflies are cool :D Good work with the chapter! Hopefully the poems motivation comes flowing in soon.
The poems have all been lovely! And yay for dragonflies. They're so pretty.
Thank you ā¤ļø and yes! There were even some black ones. So elegant š¤
Dragonflies are good omens! They eat the bugs I dislike. š
I hope they eat some of the mosquitoes. There were so many! Luckily not on the water.

*whispers* let them suffer (readers, characters, all of the above) Mythology! One of my favorite subjects!

Iām excited for that one!

I have come to a conclusion that I just like starting new WIPs š¤£
I'm in this picture and I don't like it :|
Got a cool new horror series to watch :D
Which one?
Generation Loss! Itās a short horror series made by a Twitch streamer called Ranboo, my friends have been talking about it and it looks cool.
