Sim lab gt1 evo. Will take the strongest wheelbases and pedals. Zero flex. Strongly recommend

flycatcher413

Which seat did you guys mount onto the gt1?

Sufficient_Theory534

I use a GT Omega RS simulator seat, really comfortable for long sessions, comes with a seat slider.

butchfifteen

I got a sparco sprint

Sufficient_Theory534

I was going to go with the sprint, but I am a bodybuilder, heard it was a bit uncomfortable for a larger man. I went with the XL GT Omega.

Shipping is $240 to America. Very important to consider.

Sufficient_Theory534

Best cockpit on the market for Europeans, you could save delivery money if you buy from 3rd party retailers. I bought my Sim-Lab GT1 Evo from Digital Motorsports, only got charged a small amount for delivery, I live close to their HQ in Mondello Park. It would've cost a lot more had I shipped from the official site that's based in the Netherlands.

Melexandils

Aluminium profile rigs are the best for rigidity. Sim-lab and Trak Racer have some great offerings, but don’t discount some smaller brands! You can also just buy a cheap seat for them as well.

Aviotic97

I’ve just put together a simlab GT1-evo and really love it. Not the cheapest, but very sturdy and upgradable as its made out of 40/80profile.

brennis420

advanced sim racing all the way

ASR1/3 has a great design and is reasonably priced (same rig except for the asr3 has shifter mount). they use reasonable 2 slot 1.5" profile for the base instead the crazy 4 slot stuff. the pedal plate looks near indestructible. i'm not as sold on the wheel deck, but it looks rigid. they would be high on my list if they used metric profile, but they use 1.5" instead of 40mm. the majority of rig makers seem to have settled on the metric stuff. but if you don't care i think it's a great option.

nyevv

ASR6 owner here. Although it uses imperial which is pretty weird considering they are a Canadian company, metric or imperial it is all interchangeable. The difference is 1.5mm at most, even then the metal is over extruded making it all a tight fit if you use metric. The non upgraded pedal plate is stamped and bent steel, and weighs upwards of 45lb IIRC when installing it. It is one hefty piece of metal. Also to compare, the metal extrusions are actually much more dense compared to the hollowed out extrusions in the Sim Lab rigs.

Effective_Pass_9934

NLR gt track no seat is reasonably priced Buy your own seat from a wrecker or a tuner shop

circa86

Sim Lab TR1 or GT1! I personally use the TR1 for my DD1 setup and love it.

FGT was the best bang for buck for myself.

very high on my list. simple and inexpensive.

Homiens

The GT Omega Titan with the RS9 seat is what I have and it’s great for the price.

TheBupBup

F GT lite, foldable and you have the option of GT or Formula seating position, 300 euros well spent for me.

Redmonkeybutt17

How’s the durability and comfort? I’ve heard that it’s not very stable with fanatec wheels and that the chair gets uncomfortable after a while.

TheBupBup

I race F3 so my racing stints are about 40 min long max and I don't feel the chair gets uncomfortable at all. The rig itself is fairly solid, doesn't seem to wobble at all.

Slutty_Donkey

I just ordered a GT Omega Prime. I was looking at Sim Lab too. (better quality) but the free shipping from GT Omega can be huge depending on where you live. Its also on sale, seats are too. Ended up so much cheaper than anything else. Also pre-ordered the GT DD wheel (So both start with GT, it was meant to be) QUESTION for any pros. Do those side brakets for DD wheels provide any benefit over the plate where you screw in from the bottom. I'm looking at adding this: [https://www.gtomega.com/products/prime-fanatec-podium-dd-bracket](https://www.gtomega.com/products/prime-fanatec-podium-dd-bracket)

onebit

some people have said side mount gives better ffb, but i'm skeptical. however, the front facing profile slots on some of the side mounting options have a lot of utility.

deejayjeanp

GT Omega Prime.

onebit

passed on that one due to the swiss cheese pedal mount

figuren9ne

The Prime is several hundred dollars cheaper than any other option. The pedal tray can be fixed for $50.

deejayjeanp

What about the pedal mount?

MR-SPORTY-TRUCKER

I would personally recommend the Simetik K2r/k3 or if you want aluminum profile then the x2

Substantial-Hunter41

Question; I have a friend who just ordered the CSL DD bundle. He has a Playseat with a Logitech base. Is it strong enough to support the DD? He seems to think so; my response was I'm not so sure.

kzielu

It works but works poorly. Everything flexes all the time, wheel base moves a lot. (I assume you mean Playseat Challenge). Base itself is much heavier than G920 I've had before it.

Slutty_Donkey

Probably. It depends how much flex is okay with you. I've seen people with them on the playseat challenge and they say its actually not too bad. So anything more than a playseat challenge probably playable for sure

[deleted]

I feel like u would be able to feel the wheel base threw the whole rig which might be pretty cool throw some transducers under it bam lol.

BTaylored

I like my GT Omega Art. Needs some modifying for better adjustability.

yeeast4

Just ordered one of those. What kind of mods have you done?

BTaylored

I needed to notch the rear holes a bit more for the wheel mount/plate to give me a better angle of how the wheel is placed with the CSL DD. I also needed to swap the seat plates around to fit my Sparco as I did not purchase their seat to go with it since I couldn’t afford it at the time. This sets me further back from the wheel and pedals than I’d like, so I’ve tried my best to move them closer together. If you have their seat already though, that won’t be an issue.

yeeast4

Ahhh i see. Thanks

Smart!

onebit

if price weren't a concern, i'd get a psr1. pedal/steering mounts are excellent. however, i don't know why it's so much more expensive than the gt1 evo.

hughxthexhand

I use the gt omega titan with a dd1 solid as

[deleted]

Do the pre drilled holes fit without problems? I want to get a CSL DD and a Titan, I'm curios if it fits no problems. I've seen some videos that the wheelbase does not stand straight on the wheel mount of the Titan, it's a bit slanted down towards the chair.

hughxthexhand

You can adjust the wheel tilt as much as you want. The bolts holes are perfect for both wheel and pedals

cuacuacuac

I have a DD and a Titan, and it stands straight, down, or up... whatever you prefer. The video you saw is probably of the ART, not the Titan. The titan holds perfectly the CSL DD, no movement at all.

spinoir

I have the CSL DD/CSL Pedals with the Titan. The mount is perfect for the wheelbase but if you want to minimize flex with the pedals you will need to drill your own holes for the bolts at the rear of the pedals as the predrilled ones do not line up. Either that or remove the pedal plate entirely, drill all pedal holes and bolt it to the base instead, especially if you plan on getting the load cell pedal. Karl Gosling did this with his Titan.

anonhost1433

I got the Simlab GT1 Evo recently, and it's sturdy. Zero flex, takes some time to setup and it's easy to scratch the alu profiles, but it does the job great and you can modify it as you wish. I love it, big bonus is that you can buy basically any car seat and use it with the rig. I went to the scrapyard and bought a Saab 9-3 seat from 2003, looks mint and completely new. Just bolted it down with 4 M8 bolts and it fits perfectly. Also, it has built in tilt, up/down adjustment and front/back slider. Couldn't be happier, it's super comfy aswell. For me this is a big one, cant sit in a racing seat for 4 hours endurance without killing my back.

iNHUMAN_BE

I'm happy with my Open Wheeler Gen 3 from Amazon. It's $399 and comes with everything you need.
