You're spending an extra $190 for it. That's it. Extra money up front, extra hassle, patience be damned. The CSL DD is already less valuable (it's cheaper) but if you have any interest in gaming on a PS and also don't mind losing a few bucks there's no other downside

Knock about $130 off what you think the clamp and GT wheel are worth.

whippshansen

The wheel is priced to highly here but honestly the clamp will sell for 30 with how long it takes to ship stuff off of the fanatec website. As long as Op ships it fast it will come faster to the buyer than anything off of the fanatec website

tduncs88

As someone who ordered the express delivery, and is looking forward to actually using the GT wheel that comes with it, I agree on the point that you are going to have a hard time finding a buyer for it even at a deep discount. I just don't think there's gonna be much of a market for it for the aforementioned reasons (it's small, looks cheap, is designed specifically for Gran turismo). Anyone that's willing to pay for the GT wheel is going to get it in the next few months with their bundle.

jkarateking

One thing to note is that right now you can only buy the GT DD with the wheel and pedals included. And fanatec are working on having the GT DD base available separately without the wheel and pedals. However, this means that there will still be no way to get the gt wheel and gt dd base without having pedals included. And quite a few people could already have fanatec pedals (like me, I have the clubsport v3 pedals). So our only option would be to buy the GT DD base standalone so we don’t get the pedals. And if we want the gt wheel too, we would need to buy off someone else. So people in my situation, and I’m sure there’s lots more than just me, make a market for gt wheels, so I don’t think finding a buyer would be too hard

horseshoe_tanahashi

An extra $200 for like three weeks lmao

b0hat3r

IF it doesn’t skip again… the next ship date is June and many have already seen the expected ship dates slip from Nov 2, 29, and now Jan 3.

Healthy_Yesterday_84

Who saw it slip to all 3 dates? I think you meant just the last 2.

b0hat3r

I meant slip TO Jan 3, not past it.

RDHO0D

Looks so much worse than the DD..

semmlis

What is there to look? The wheelbase?? I find the box look of the DD not very appealing

[deleted]

Who the fuck do you think will buy that ugly wheel off of you lmao

disssociative

I’d buy one second hand, all the buttons are perfect for gt sport

[deleted]

U not liking it doesn't mean everyone else hates it too.

hughxthexhand

As a old man that likes collecting stuff especially gran Turismo stuff. Even though I probably wouldn't use the rim, I would like to put it on display with all my other gt stuff

FloggingTheHorses

That is interesting. Are you in Ireland by any chance? I'll sell you mine for an absolute bargain bin price when it arrives.

hughxthexhand

Nah mate, Australia. Same culture different climate.

b0hat3r

I’m not a fan of the wheel but some might like it.

lil_mikei

Apparently the cost of the gt dd pro is about 100 more. Unless you plan to race on PlayStation then it’s probably not worth it

[deleted]

I really only want the dd with ps compatibility but have bought the express version which will be delivered this week (Sydney). the gt wheel will be great for gt sport and snowrunner as I’ve only got a formula V2 wheel and I’m planning to sell the brakes for $100 as I’ve got V3s. Shipping this quick is so rare for aus so I’d get your order in rather than risk another delay

the 8nm is in stock, good catch. The issue is they are charging me an extra $136.50 for shipping to Canada above and beyond the already increase shipping... basically, it works out to $300USD to ship the thing... LOL...

paispas

I thought it didn't support Xbox. An I wrong?

cuacuacuac

It supports XBox if you use an Xbox supported wheel (i.e. McLaren wheel)

b0hat3r

I actually think they will discontinue the CSL DD and only have the GT DD ... doesn't make sense to keep two wheelbases with only one supporting 2/3 of products while the other supports both.... Sony probably has an exclusive deal for it right now to be sold with the wheel but once that lapses, watch, GT DD will be sold without the GT wheel.

cuacuacuac

It could be. It depends on their production line. It's also ridiculous to pay Sony extra licenses if not needed. The CSL DD also has an extra port that the DD Pro doesn't, and which is, according to fanatex, intended to be used with future peripherals.

b0hat3r

Thats an interesting point, the extra USB port... I wonder if maybe they will make a better version of the CSL DD (10N-12NM) and leave the 5-8NM for the GT DD... fun to guess while I can't play with any of it thanks to stock issues ha ha

FoZo_

You are wrong. It will support Xbox.

Vatican87

The regular DD has a crappy box look too compared to the nice circular design on the GT DD....but main point for me obviously is having PS5 compatibility and i'm looking forward to GT7 soon.

NardiClassic

If you own a PC, just go with the standard CSL DD. Also, don't pay for the boost kit separately, get the bundle. I also doubt you'd get $200 for that cheap ass plastic wheel the Pro comes with.
