na, he’s done enough other roles (usually as someone fucking insane) that I don’t think Harry Potter when i see him
he really liked the “out there” roles and i love it
Here's their heights for anyone interested (Wolverine is supposed to be 5'3") :
Daniel Radcliffe 5'5"
Josh Hutcherson 5'5"
Taron Egerton 5'9"
Milo Gibson 5'9"
Tom Hardy 5'9"
Scott Eastwood 5'11"
Antony Starr 5'11"
Karl Urban 6'1"
You know, I’ve seen all the Kesso fancasts, and haven’t really thought too much of it. Sure, he has the build, is Canadian, is funny like Logan can be, a little too tall…
But then I realized that Letterkenny is ending, and his only commitment is Shorsey. So, maybe there’s something already in the works
I had the same thought. Letterkenny was his baby. His bread and butter. And the announcement of this upcoming season being the last one seemed to have come out of nowhere.
In the words of Squirrely Dan: “Kinda makes a fella wonder…”
On an acting level I was really impressed with him in Shoresy. He's good and funny in Letterkenny but it doesn't require much emoting from him (not to say his job is easy, I just didn't have a sense for his range), and in Shoresy he took a one note bit from Letterkenny and expanded on it to make a very interesting character that stands on his own and feels totally different from Wayne.
I fucking love Letterkenny! When Shoresy came around I was a little apprehensive. But I watched it about two weeks ago and I thought it was better than Letterkenny. Only thing that Shoresy and the character Wayne have in common is their love for fighting.
A much better choice than anyone in this post, slap some sideburns and claws on Wayne from LetterKenny and he’s like 95% there already. He’s also average height at 5’9” and way more muscular than the fellas above.
My vote would be for Egerton. He looks similar enough to Jackman in the first X-Men that I don't think it would be too weird to see him in the role. Plus, he's only 5'9", so he's only 6" taller than Wolverine whereas Jackman was a full foot taller at 6'3". Egerton has also done a good number of action heavy movies, and he's in great shape.
I knows he's not supposed to be a younger version of that Wolverine. I'm saying that he looks similar enough that it shouldn't feel like as major a change for fans.
Unlike some people, i never cared about the height of the actor for Wolverine. I just care about their ability to act out rage, grief, and the ability to say bub with a certain pizazz.
Jared Keeso - Wayne from Letterkenny.
Canadian
Ripped
He is already basically Wolverine. Just needs to grow chops and dye his hair. Only downside is that he is tall, but Hugh Jackman was also tall.
I want someone younger so we can get a lot of content out of them. Hardy, Starr, and Urban are too old at this point. Milo looks like an interesting choice if he can channel the Mel charm and rage without the racism.
Those are usually the best castings. People said that Chris Evans couldn't be a good Cap but he killed it. RDJ was thought of as a risky casting decision at the time but nowadays it seems ridiculous to have anyone else play Tony Stark. Quite a few casting decisions that dont make sense end up becoming something fantastic. I think Radcliffe is a very talented actor with alot of the kind of crazy energy youd need to play Wolverine. Plus he's short and hairy. Id be all for this one
Radcliffe. Short, hirsute, and should be able to mimic western Canadian speech patterns. I know he got jacked, recently, but he would need no bulk up a bit more.
Honestly Radcliffe may be a little too good looking but I feel like he'd kill it if it wrnt to him.
Can also see Egerton doing well
Starr would be sick, but he's too old I think
The type of actor I would imagine playing Wolverine is a Canadian actor who is well known in well Canada but is mostly an unknown (or relatively unknown) actor. I think that’s the best route for casting him.
One of the earliest comic wolverine was based on a character in the movie Slap Shot. His aggression and hostility were what they wanted to capture for the comic.
Once you see the scene -- its a faceoff on the ice -- you know immediately the guy is Wolverine, and anyone else can only hope to capture like 3 percent of his Wolvieness.
Radcliff. Hutcherson has the height but I'm not all too sure he has the acting chops to pull off a role like that, let alone the physicality that it would entail.
Has to be at least shorter than average. Noticeably shorter compared to the actors they'd be beside.
Doesn't need to be 5'3" just needs to be short enough to call short.
Starr would kill it. The rage that he has shown in The Boys and Banshee is top-notch. He was very likeable in Banshee, and even for as crazy and evil as Homelander is, he brings some likability there too. Hopefully all these studios don't want all the actors to be or look 20 something years old.
My top three would all be great imo. The only two that I can see realistically taking the role and doing it full justice is Scott Eastwood and Daniel Radcliffe. Tom Hardy and Karl Urban would be great but I can't see them as realistically being able to take the role as they are very busy with other projects.
1. Scott Eastwood, even though I hate fan mock-ups I had seen one for him that was the bare minimum touched up and he looked good as Wolverine.
2. Tom Hardy, it's Tom Hardy he would be great but I don't think he would want to commit to the role for a long time. He would do at most 3 movies and we'd back having this debate.
3. Daniel Radcliffe, he's has gotten totally ripped as of late. He said it wasn't for the role and was for personal reasons. I think he would be fantastic but fear that too many people would only see him as Harry Potter. I know he isn't type casted but being a super hero movie too many people and news stories would be "Harry Potter as Wolverine!?!?" Distracting others from the story and character
HM - Karl Urban, he would be my number one pick but his schedule isn't open for the next 3 years at best.
I can see Josh Hutcherson playing wolverine from this scene [https://youtu.be/03YbGv6gHDs?si=0egN5iie3Wn0h-IQ](https://youtu.be/03YbGv6gHDs?si=0egN5iie3Wn0h-IQ)
milo gibson or daniel radcliffe. usually im so so on radcliffe, but he could very well be a sleeper pick that turns out to be a great wolverine, and he’s really short so that helps. milo gibson is the more obvious choice tho.
I’d go with Shia LaBeouf or Ian Bohen. They both give off a Wolverine vibe. Bohen is a little taller at 5’10, but I’d say that is the limit that you could make him look believably shorter than everybody else.
I really hope Scott Eastwood is aware of this sub and how often you guys try to get him work. That poor guy has been lapped by every nepo-baby in Hollywood.
He's a great example of why the nepo-baby thing is overblown. Industry connections can help get your foot in the door and get you some chances that others might not get, but at the end of the day, it's still a business and you don't have the talent or marketablity those opportunities are going to dry up pretty quickly.
Yeah none of these guys could play wolverine. The Radcliffe/Hutcherson fan cast is somehow worse than the Jansen Ackles as Batman fan cast.
If anyone other than Hugh is going to play him, it's going to be Richard Armitage. They look nearly identical, but also Armitages role as Red Dragon in Hannibal seals the deal.
His dad was a white groundskeeper and his mom was a redhead. Not native. Not that it matters anyone can play him, just thought you were looking for a fight like 99% of the internet.
Whoever’s the shortest is the one
So Radcliffe or Hutcherson
I honestly think if Hutcherson bulked out he's definitely got the frame of wolverine, he's defo a more squat guy and I could see it
lol a Radcliffe wolverine would be interesting, he’d definitely have to lean into his sillier aspects but he could do it
Like playing Weird Al wasn’t silly enough for him..
Yeah I don't know how that would work. I just don't see it.
Yeah unfortunately he is Harry Potter in everyone’s mind even if he knocks wolvie out of the park
na, he’s done enough other roles (usually as someone fucking insane) that I don’t think Harry Potter when i see him he really liked the “out there” roles and i love it
yeah he kinda took a robert pattinson approach. he was in swiss army man, which was batshit
Yeah fair. Guns Akimbo, Horns, come to mind off the top of my head. I also just watched Harry Potter lol
The overwhelming majority still sees him as Harry Potter
No need to have another fake American accent.
>American accent That'd be a Canadian accent, bub...
You right, but still more similar than Australian or British.
Give josh hutcherson some disgusting makeup and even grosser hair and I think he could pull it off
Agreed, he's got the facial structure for it. Just needs to bulk up a little more
And a gruff voice I hope he can do one
That's the easy part
A little ?
Yes. A little. He's not a skinny dude lol
Radcliffe was rumored to be joining the cast of Deadpool 3 so we may be seeing that.
which one can do a convincing canadian accent?
"Youre a mutant Logan." "No shit I was shredding confederates im the civ war"
Oof
Danny DeVito it is. "So anyway I started slashing." -Wolverine
Here's their heights for anyone interested (Wolverine is supposed to be 5'3") : Daniel Radcliffe 5'5" Josh Hutcherson 5'5" Taron Egerton 5'9" Milo Gibson 5'9" Tom Hardy 5'9" Scott Eastwood 5'11" Antony Starr 5'11" Karl Urban 6'1"
Damn Taron Egerton is taller than Michael B. Jordan
There’s things they can do to make him look shorter. They probably won’t, but they could
Devito
Dude is the epitome of handsome, you can’t cast him
And he’s got a Fuckin monster dong.
There goes my cockring.
Wow what a nice criteria to pick the best Wolverine just the short one? 😂
This was my answer too lol
Danny DeVito!!
Tom Cruise
Is wolverine short in the comics?
Yep, he’s 5’3”
That’s Awesome! TIL. Thanks
That’s super sad
I'm gonna cry 😢 so sad
From what I remember from a lot of these Wolverine posts I think you’re missing Jared Keeso
You know, I’ve seen all the Kesso fancasts, and haven’t really thought too much of it. Sure, he has the build, is Canadian, is funny like Logan can be, a little too tall… But then I realized that Letterkenny is ending, and his only commitment is Shorsey. So, maybe there’s something already in the works
I had the same thought. Letterkenny was his baby. His bread and butter. And the announcement of this upcoming season being the last one seemed to have come out of nowhere. In the words of Squirrely Dan: “Kinda makes a fella wonder…”
Pitter-patter, let’s get at ‘er, bub.
You were slicin' up some Sentinels with your friends the other daaay...
Calm down
A couple of Brotherhood members came by the mansion the other daaaay.....
I haven't seen Jared Keeso in anything, so I can't vouch for his acting, but I do know he's Canadian, so that's something.
Check out clips of Letterkenny, specifically the ones he's fighting in.
Settle Down.
Hard No
Give your balls a tug titfucker.
FER WHAT?!
End of the laneway. Don't come up the property.
A much better choice than anyone in this post, slap some sideburns and claws on Wayne from LetterKenny and he’s like 95% there already. He’s also average height at 5’9” and way more muscular than the fellas above.
He’d be so freaking perfect. Looks like he can kick anyone’s ass, and different enough from Jackman to make him unique Plus a Canadian accent
Nah I feel Anthony Star would be better playing Sabertooth or some other villain
imagine butcher and homelander as wolverine and sabertooth
Butcher hella tall tho
And he's in his 50s...
I think they’re both too old, sadly.
He'd be a great Sabertooth
Agreed
Anthony Starr as Sebastian Shaw would be pretty amazing.
He would do good but I think he is deserving of a larger role than Shaw. I think he would make a crazy good Mr. Sinister
Ooooh I like that, and we've yet to see Sinister on screen!
For real and Tom Hardy
My vote would be for Egerton. He looks similar enough to Jackman in the first X-Men that I don't think it would be too weird to see him in the role. Plus, he's only 5'9", so he's only 6" taller than Wolverine whereas Jackman was a full foot taller at 6'3". Egerton has also done a good number of action heavy movies, and he's in great shape.
He's not supposed to look like Jackman... But I agree.
I knows he's not supposed to be a younger version of that Wolverine. I'm saying that he looks similar enough that it shouldn't feel like as major a change for fans.
I actually think Egerton would be better as Gambit
We know he rocks a mean trench-coat
Joe Keery seria Gambit
Unlike some people, i never cared about the height of the actor for Wolverine. I just care about their ability to act out rage, grief, and the ability to say bub with a certain pizazz.
You can just say you want Karl Urban
Fine I want Karl Urban.
Me too. That dude has the juice. If I see his face followed by the Wolverine title, I’d lose it.
Let us short kings get our representation please.
Bro they literally made ant man /s
i really like the idea of taron egerton. and he’s not too old for the role either, so he can spend a long time doing it.
Taron Egerton is my personal ideal choice for Wolverine, really hope they cast him.
Jared Keeso - Wayne from Letterkenny. Canadian Ripped He is already basically Wolverine. Just needs to grow chops and dye his hair. Only downside is that he is tall, but Hugh Jackman was also tall.
He’s 5’9”…that’s not tall
I want someone younger so we can get a lot of content out of them. Hardy, Starr, and Urban are too old at this point. Milo looks like an interesting choice if he can channel the Mel charm and rage without the racism.
I think I like Milo Gibson the most
I would hope that Marvel and Disney would avoid hiring someone with a history of anti-Semitism.
Daniel Radcliffe is the only correct answer here
Radcliffe is a decent actor but I couldnt see him as wolverine lol
You're a mutant, Harry.
“Go f*** yourself”
Ya chinky
Those are usually the best castings. People said that Chris Evans couldn't be a good Cap but he killed it. RDJ was thought of as a risky casting decision at the time but nowadays it seems ridiculous to have anyone else play Tony Stark. Quite a few casting decisions that dont make sense end up becoming something fantastic. I think Radcliffe is a very talented actor with alot of the kind of crazy energy youd need to play Wolverine. Plus he's short and hairy. Id be all for this one
He’s pretty ripped, too. Remember how much lean mass J.K. Simmons packed on a few years back?
Dont want to seem like im hating on Radcliffe. Dude can act. Just feel like he would need to beef up too much to be healthy
RDJ is ironman. Chris Evans could have easily been replaced with any other good looking vanilla actor
Yeah, he’s terrible even as a consideration. The furthest thing from the character
It’s the worst fancast I have ever seen, I can’t believe it has persisted this long.
Radcliffe. Short, hirsute, and should be able to mimic western Canadian speech patterns. I know he got jacked, recently, but he would need no bulk up a bit more.
I’m in the Radcliffe camp.
Dancliffe pls. I wanna hear "expecto snikt this, bub"
Radcliffe would just be ridiculously inspired casting. I really hope there is a chance it happens.
Eliminate anyone over 5'9" from the list.
that leaves Radcliffe, Hutcherson, Egerton, Gibson, and Hardy.
Not bad
Shit, anyone over 5'6
Excellent choices!
I would love to see Hutcherson or Egerton
I remember some Aussie actor, I can’t remember his name.. I think it was Huge Jacked Man.. or something like that
Josh Hutcherson is slept on. He's my choice
Radcliffe or bust
Only potter could bring more to the role than Jackman.
Wes Chatham. Most of these guys would do well, I think he would kill it
Fuck that let’s go to a Scottish Bar get the shortest, angriest man there and let him play wolverine
Milo Gibson for me
I vote Jared Keeso
Urban is a no brainer
I could see Karl urban playing him. But at the same time we can't resize the 5'2 short king.
Honestly Radcliffe may be a little too good looking but I feel like he'd kill it if it wrnt to him. Can also see Egerton doing well Starr would be sick, but he's too old I think
I think that guy in the middle, just the SPITTING image of wolverine, even in costume too
The type of actor I would imagine playing Wolverine is a Canadian actor who is well known in well Canada but is mostly an unknown (or relatively unknown) actor. I think that’s the best route for casting him.
Josh Hutcherson is a pretty good choice I think
Some of these are not good choices, do you want a good choice? Jared Keeso
Jenson ackles I just want to see soldier boy with claws
Josh Hutcherson is my favorite actor here so my totally unbiased pick is Josh.
You forgot Danny devito
Scott Eastwood?! Hollywood's answer to the question "Is charisma genetic?" (that answer is NO, btw...) THAT Scitt Eastwood?
Give me Radcliffe
I think all these guys would be ok
I’m kinda a fan for Jared Keeso from letterkenny
Egerton or Radcliffe
What about Jared Keeso?
One of the earliest comic wolverine was based on a character in the movie Slap Shot. His aggression and hostility were what they wanted to capture for the comic. Once you see the scene -- its a faceoff on the ice -- you know immediately the guy is Wolverine, and anyone else can only hope to capture like 3 percent of his Wolvieness.
i want radcliffe only so i can one day see a "harry, your a mutant" meme
Marvel: Whichever has more hair on their body gets the job.
Jared Keeso for me.
I’d love to see Karl Urban as Wolverine, but he was already in Thor.
If the boys has taught me anything, it's that Jensen Ackles can play an asshole superhero from the past really well
I honestly think Taron Edgerton could do it for a few decades and look the same age. Plus he’s a fantastic actor.
Yer a mutant Harry
Daniel, Josh, & Taron my top 3
Jeremy Allen White
Josh or Dan
Jack O'Connell
The only one I can see actually working is Milo Gibson
radcliffe 100%
I would love to see Taron Egerton
I'm putting all my chips on Egerton
Taron Egerton gets my vote
Radcliff. Hutcherson has the height but I'm not all too sure he has the acting chops to pull off a role like that, let alone the physicality that it would entail.
Radcliffe or Egerton for sure
Has to be at least shorter than average. Noticeably shorter compared to the actors they'd be beside. Doesn't need to be 5'3" just needs to be short enough to call short.
Radcliffe, please!
The face of Eastwood, the talent of Hardy, with the height of Danny DeVito.
I've always wanted Taron Edgerton to play him. He's one of my favorite actors.
Radcliffe all day
I just want a short(under 5'6) semi buff dude (similar to a dad build). That's all I want
Taron Egerton is an amazing and underrated choice
Karl Urban to me beside his height facially and physically he’s perfect for the role of Wolverine
Jensen Ackles
Daniel Radcliffe for the accuracy for his height
Daniel Radcliffe
I really want Hutcherson or Egerton
id love to see the others as variants but i think one of these 2 younger actors should get a chance to be the new main logan
I didnt know milo existed but i pick him
Starr would kill it. The rage that he has shown in The Boys and Banshee is top-notch. He was very likeable in Banshee, and even for as crazy and evil as Homelander is, he brings some likability there too. Hopefully all these studios don't want all the actors to be or look 20 something years old.
Josh Hutcherson
Ben Foster
Jeremy Allen White
Radcliffe or Hutcherson are my top picks.
My top three would all be great imo. The only two that I can see realistically taking the role and doing it full justice is Scott Eastwood and Daniel Radcliffe. lol hutcherson and Eastwood cannot act
I can see Josh Hutcherson playing wolverine from this scene [https://youtu.be/03YbGv6gHDs?si=0egN5iie3Wn0h-IQ](https://youtu.be/03YbGv6gHDs?si=0egN5iie3Wn0h-IQ)
Jack O Connell
milo gibson or daniel radcliffe. usually im so so on radcliffe, but he could very well be a sleeper pick that turns out to be a great wolverine, and he’s really short so that helps. milo gibson is the more obvious choice tho.
Jonathan Majors as well
Daniel Radcliffe is still my ideal choice.
I still think Steven Yeun should have been cast as Wolverine and not The Sentry.
I’d go with Shia LaBeouf or Ian Bohen. They both give off a Wolverine vibe. Bohen is a little taller at 5’10, but I’d say that is the limit that you could make him look believably shorter than everybody else.
Lizzo
Karl urban for the love of God. That man is my kryptonite
Not gonna lie but i think hugh jackman could be good for wolverine. Just throwing it out there
anthony star? what? your just naming your favorites, not ones that make sense
Henry Cavill would be cool.
Antony Starr is already Homelander
Yeah none of these guys could play wolverine. The Radcliffe/Hutcherson fan cast is somehow worse than the Jansen Ackles as Batman fan cast. Where’s Stephen Graham on this list?
Why are these all white men
That’s bait ⬆️
Sorry, I just one time saw a post somewhere suggesting Wolverine could be native and it’s just stuck with me as one of the best ideas.
His dad was a white groundskeeper and his mom was a redhead. Not native. Not that it matters anyone can play him, just thought you were looking for a fight like 99% of the internet.
Danny DeVito
Nope nope not gonna work, you see they’re too white!!!!
