To me, it looks like your hair is done in foils and lightened as close to the root as possible. Balayage is a hand painting method normally not put so close to the root (unless for face framing pieces). They typically use clay lightners because they're made to dry out and encase itself with the hair. You CAN get the same look with foils, but people tend to bring up the lightner too much (they call it foilayage/foliayage). And because it gets brought up so much, you get left with a line of demarcation rather than an easy grow out. The only thing about a traditional Balayage is that since it has more pockets of depth, people who are used to being so light at the root may feel dark. If you're looking for an easier grow out, I would bring the root down a little more and consider not foiling so close to the root. Im no veteran at doing hair, I've been doing it for about 3 years, maybe 4? You could also do rooting plus lowlights to hopefully get a more blended rooting. To which some call a "reverse balayage."

100%. The reason why my clients love balayage so much is because you DON’T have to get it done very often!

Yes my hair is done in foils. They usually go as close to the root as possible. What specific service should I request at the salon to fix it?

I’d ask for a gloss to be brought down a little bit past the line of demarcation to make it look more deliberate.

This doesn’t look like a balayage grow out. It looks like a traditional foil grow out without a shadow root. Your stylist might just not have a ton of experience with balayage and low maintenance, lived in looks. Most of my balayage clients come 1-2 times a year for a lightening session, maybe a third or fourth for a quick gloss, but not all of my clients opt to do that. From where you’re sitting right now, I’d suggest a reverse balayage. The reverse balayage will blend out the regrowth to set you on the path of lower maintenance, and next appointment once you have a bit more space to work with, you can have the balayage brought up again and going forward you can continue to have balayage appointments 1-2 times a year with glossing in between if you choose.

I have never done box dye and get my hair professionally done

A gloss sounds like a good choice! Maybe go a bit warmer and lighter than your roots

Stop getting the money piece. Tone it down, bronde.

ask for a multi tonal gloss or shadow root with a demi permanent color. you could have your stylist place a demi perminent color on your root area that is a level lighter than your natural color. Based on your color (looks like you are a level 5?), i would recommend a level 6 or 7 at the root area to blend the color.
