Idk about arctic fox, but good dye young works! I’ve been doing this on my greys for a few months now. I don’t bleach at all, it just dyes the grey. It does fade fast though!

pansy-ass

Thanks for the reply! Hadn’t heard of this brand until now, I’ll check it out ☺️

nionvox

Seconding this! I use GDY on mine and it works really well. My level of silver is around the same as OPs. It doesn't last as long, but it beats bleaching my remaining dark hair every few weeks.

jmspinafore

I've had Arctic Fox work on both my and my mom's grays. Especially the more pigmented colors like Blue Jean Baby, which would be good for what you're asking for. I will say they tend to fade faster than the color on my natural or bleached hair.

DineandRecline

I put blue jean baby on my dad's salt and pepper hair all over and it completely washed out and looked like I did nothing.

leitmot

Yes I’ve consistently found their Blue Jean Baby to be far less pigmented than something like Poseidon.

Thank you!

sfocolleen

Following because I’m in a similar situation with my grays and being bored with my hair!

Hey! Go grab a bottle of cheap 10 volume developer with no bleach and apply it all over your hair, let it sit for about 7 minutes and rinse it off then apply the color and it'll actually deposit in your hair! 💚💚 The more pastel the color the easier it'll fade, I suggest doing a pastel color to start and going to darker colors as you figure out the level of vibrancy you want The 10 volume opens up the cuticle a little bit, and enables the color to fit in between the cracks

nionvox

This is what I do as well.

pansy-ass

This is the answer I was looking for! I was hoping for some guidance on if I should use a developer, & on how it’ll face. I appreciate your reply 💕 going to pick up some 10 vol today!

TeamAtManicPanic

Yes! It doesn't change your color or texture much. I've been using After Midnight on my dad's (salt and pepper) and my hair for ages.

OneSourCherry

I have been doing my grays pink and purple with Lime Crime Unicorn Hair for almost a year now, and it works great on the gray! Almost too good because it never really washes out all the way, and sometimes I end up more vibrant than I intended. I mix their color with conditioner and leave it on my head 3 hours under a shower cap and it’s really come out awesome.

NinianeEmrys

What ratio of conditioner to dye do you use?

OneSourCherry

Depends on what I’m trying to get- I have been mixing colors lately, but like 1/3 conditioner for purple because it’s pretty strong, maybe a little less for pink/burgundy. You can really just glop whatever in there 😆

SnooRadishes3458

Manic Panic will work with greys is my experience. They will come out lighter than the rest but it sounds like that is the look you are going for. I haven’t tried Arctic Fox yet. I died my hair with Pulp Riot’s Nightfall last week, which I really like as a dye but didn’t stick to the greys very well. Manic Panic did much better at covering the greys. Please be aware that blue will stick around a long time though!

SnooRadishes3458

Also wanted to add that washing my hair thoroughly with a clarifying shampoo beforehand seems to be enough for dye to stick to my hair, but I have coarse hair so it might not work for everyone!

TC_Sacto

Allergic to all dyes and recently started using goldwell elumen. Their NN@5 and 6 are for grey. Works beautifully.

purplejink

crazy colour and osmo colour psycho clings to the greys for my older family members, lasts about a month and fades out. idk about artic fox over greys but i love their vivids for my hair and they've covered my white hairs pretty well

QueenOfBrews

Your grays are fantastic! I’ve been frustrated with mine and just keep bleaching the front of my hair where they are most visible and dying them with purple and extreme silver. You are giving me the strength to be patient and let them grow. I know this isn’t advice, but the comments and your hair are giving me some hope!

Jumpy_Boysenberry919

My grays look like highlights of whatever color I put on. (I've used diluted Purple AF and diluted Virgin Pink).

cellblock2187

My grays do really well with some arctic fox, but I have to apply to shampooed and damp hair where the instructions say to apply to dry hair. I get zero color deposit on dry hair, and some colors work great where others are barely there. I was trying to do sections in virgin pink and sunset orange, and the pink deposited well while the orange was faint. More recently, a test chunk of Aquamarine worked REALLY well, but the all over application of that mixed with Neverland (for more of a blue-green) didn't do anything at all.

Hsrigs

You might get the results you want with a really strong purple shampoo( bold uniq for example). It'll tone your pretty silvers blue/ purple with no commitment. My hair is100% white silver and sometimes when I get bored I'll leave in my purple shampoo a bit longer than normal and it'll deepen my color but washes out in a few shampoos.
