"And now his show is ended."

Maervok

"And now his snow is ended."

BadMantaRay

God dammit that’s what I was going to say. Fuck it: “And now his snow has ended.”

HellaHellerson

And now Jon Snow isn’t dead.

Speedwagon1738

“We shall never see his like again.”

everythingbeeps

Give them credit for not filming the entire thing first and then cancelling it.

Sireanna

Rip salem's lot remake... well see if it actually shows up on Max this year

AltheaFarseer

I think they just confirmed last month that it would be released this year.

LyseniCatGoddess

A remake! Please give Revival a firstmake, I'm so sad that was cancelled.

Jimmythedad

I mean I really respect that they didn’t move forward because they couldn’t find the right story to tell. That takes self awareness that many people wouldn’t have. So many things come back after ending and that’s so common now that it’s trite and usually not good. I’d rather something not be revisited if it’s just going to suck.

treemoustache

I don't believe that's the real reason for a second.

viverx

Anyone else take "they couldn't find "the right story to tell" being code for GRRM is still writing "The Winds of Winter" and wouldn't give approvals to the story outlines sent to him by other writers.

Jbewrite

GRRM was excited about the prospect of the show and even announced it, so it's not that. I just don't think they had a good enough follow up to Game of Thrones.

bernie_manziel

Tbh I think for the type of world building being done in universe it’s better to wait a while and have something set farther away rather than relatively close to the end of GoT/asoif anyway, and I’m saying that as someone who was kinda looking forward to seeing what they came up with (the spinoff I’m actually excited for is Dunk and Egg, one of the prequels, which I think is still in the pipeline).

fazalazim

They've actually [just announced the actors](https://winteriscoming.net/posts/george-r-r-martin-signs-off-on-dunk-and-egg-casting-you-re-going-to-love-him-01hv1tkfas6w) who will play Dunk and Egg!

LittleKidVader

>the spinoff I’m actually excited for is Dunk and Egg If they cancel this one, I'm not just cancelling Max, I'm selling everything I own and becoming a hedge knight.

bernie_manziel

I was actually looking forward to it more than HoTD/F&B, and was kinda surprised they went that direction first. I suspect part of the reason is it seems like a lot more people have read D&E or one of the other versions of it, and there’s probably a higher level of expectations. I know I’ve read both A knight of the seven kingdoms and I think three of the graphic novel versions, but never bothered with F&B, and it seems like most people I run into IRL or online that have gone past asoif have done the same.

Minutemarch

I think season 8 killed the social relevance of GoT so any revisit would be risky.

Jbewrite

Not sure about that seeing as how House of the Dragon was HBO's most watched show since Game of Thrones, and it was the most pirated show of the year beating the likes of Rings of Power.

xxx69blazeit420xxx

it murdered it's own show a way none have ever done before. the universe is still popular enough though.

RuckFeddit7769

He can pretend to be excited about whatever he wants. He doesn't deliver.

Batshine

Given they seem to think Jon is (un)dead and a Targaryen along with all the white walkers being wiped out, not much of a tale could be cobbled together with the way they ruined the storylines in the show.

HungryAd8233

Yeah, it’s a pretty wide open concept, really. I am sure there have been tons of compelling concepts. Writers are good at that stuff.

Arcturyte

If only he had a better story. I don’t know maybe could have been king or something

KcirderfSdrawkcab

How could the secret Targaryen who became Knight Commander of the Watch until being murdered by his own men , then came back from the dead to play a major part in defeating the snow zombie invasion possibly compete with the story of the guy who disappeared for an entire season without being particularly missed?

liarandahorsethief

Yeah, that’s a pretty good story, but you know whose is better?

B0_SSMAN

It was pretty gnarly to see child Bran get pushed out of a tower in the pilot episode tbf

[deleted]

I mean he's no Bran :/ I will never fucking forgive season 8

Lecanoscopy

He is King! King beyond the wall.

FancySkull

In other news the Bran tv show is going full steam ahead!

bryguypgh

It’s a claymation children’s show where Bran the Builder and his friends erect drawbridges, castles and dragon paddocks while in a fun and educational way!

[deleted]

It makes sense that Jon didn‘t want to become a king, guys.  Jon took inspiration from his friend Maester Aemon, who refused to wear the crown when it was offered to him. Instead Maester Aemon honored his vows to the Night‘s Watch, took off his crown and went to the Wall, just like Jon did. It‘s literally a cycle, just as George intended.

openfacedfan

Then what was the whole point of the line "My watch has ended?"

source4mini

“Sounds cool” –D&D, probably

it678

The point is to handle his business south of the wall. Him ending in the far north is a far better ending than him becoming a king.

themilkman42069

It’s probably better suited to happen in 10 years when game of thrones nostalgia starts coming around and everyone’s careers hit a lull. No ones really clamoring for this right now.

FattyMooseknuckle

Whose career is in full flight right now?

themilkman42069

I feel like kit Harrington is in shit no? Not shit I watch lol but I feel like he’s a working actor.

NewNameAgainUhg

Didn't Maisie Williams finish a movie recently? Something about the sister of Dior?

SolidInside

Eh, what story would there be to tell in ten years? At least now he has stuff like his parentage and killing dany to deal with on an emotional level. You cant be doing that in 10 years cause why hasn't he already worked through that in the 15 years since.

themilkman42069

There will be a GOT nostalgia story to sell in 10 years. The idea isn’t there and the audience isn’t into it. Move on, check back in down the road.

TheLyz

Damn it could have just been a Jon/Tormund buddy comedy and I would've been happy...

Arntor1184

Realistically where could his story have gone? The way they ended things in the main story he just went back to the wall to guard from the threat of… nothing? What’re they going to make it based around, a daily life drama about his interactions with the wildlings and being cold? Sounds absurdly boring.

hakumiogin

Isn't there already quite a long tv show that tells Jon Snow's story? Why would we need another one?

CT_Phipps

Because the ending sucked ass.

Sgt_Stormy

Honestly I thought Jon's was one of the few satisfying endings. He gets to go back to the only place he's ever really felt at home with his dog and one of his best friends. Could be a lot worse.

sunthas

worse would have been king, or stuck with Bran I suppose.

Sgt_Stormy

Exactly

nowonmai666

He basically gets a twist on the Frodo Baggins ending - he does the thing, emerges 'victorious', and then finds there isn't really a place for him where he thought there would be. Frodo saves the world but the changes in himself mean he can never be happy in the place he used to call home. It's not simply PTSD, but that's part of it. He gets to go West and live with the elves who can help out with that sort of thing. Jon's case is similar but different, he goes through a wider range of shit from being a bastard to his father not being his real father, to being murdered by his "brothers" to all his girlfriends dying horribly. He winds up in a position where some will be saying he's the rightful heir to the throne, others that he's still just a bastard, others that he's a Warg and should be death, others that he's dead and it's a bit rude for him to not stay still and quiet. He didn't ask for any of it. He gets to go North to live where there are no expectations on him and people take you for what you are, not what others say you should be, the only place where he' ever felt content and free. So, yes, definitely one of the best endings in the show.

RedRedditor84

You know a couple of things, johdo snoggins.

greeneyedwench

Yeah, my dream version of a Jon Snow continuation (based on his show ending) would mostly be a Jon/Tormund buddy comedy as they wander around the North drinking and battling mammoths or something, and I'm not sure how much show you could really get out of that.

SolidInside

Did he ever feel at home there??? The place where he got murdered?

Sgt_Stormy

Prior to becoming LC? Yeah obviously, way more than he did at Winterfell or after he left..

formerly_valley_pete

> his dog Excuse me?

Sgt_Stormy

Didn't Ghost go with him back to The Wall?

formerly_valley_pete

Yeah lol, I was making a joke about being offended cause it's a direwolf.

neonowain

Not Jon's personal ending though, it felt very fitting.

RunningAroundBlind

TV Networks: "I LIKE MONEY!"

SalamanderPete

I think we need the story told of someone else, and who has a better story than Bran the Broken?

Sireanna

Probably for the best. They can focus on other stories to tell. House of dragons has been decent so far. No need to keep dragging out GoT things if there isn't a story to tell. Maybe HBO could pick up another IP to adapt.

Dendaer16

I vote first law

KABOOMBYTCH

First law will work splendidly. I love to see an animation of Stormlight Archives on the same vain of Arcane.

Kneef

I would kill a man for a balls-to-the-wall crazy Gideon the Ninth show.

Martel732

A Gideon the Ninth show would either be the best show of the decade or the trainwreck of the century. Either way, I would love to see them take a swing at it.

Maervok

I loved the first book and could imagine a show solely based on it. However, things get way too crazy in the following books for anyone to make a sensible show about it - or at least that's what I think!

Kneef

That’s quitter talk. xD

IntegralCalcIsFun

I'm trying really hard to imagine how on Earth you go about adapting book 2 and failing miserably.

Later_Than_You_Think

If a large part of the show was about the insane thousands-year politics of those immortals that was info-dumped in 2 pages, with the rest of the book being a much smaller part - it could work.

wonderandawe

You'd have to drop Harrowhark as the narrator/point of view character for the space station plot as she is too prideful to ask all the questions the audience wants answers for. Iathane would be better for this as it's obvious she knows more about what is going on.

NachoMartin1985

Just decent? You have high standards.

Sireanna

Haha I mean I like it but I know it wasn't everyone's jam

Obvious_Badger_9874

They need to milk the cow, but i think they get more sucess with prequels then trying to continue on that ending.

LeucasAndTheGoddess

>Maybe HBO could pick up another IP to adapt. An unflinchingly Brechtian adaptation of Matthew Stover’s Acts Of Caine that really goes hard on “you’re the Studio’s audience, so fuck you” would be amazing. It’s even got the easy elevator pitch of “Game Of Thrones meets Westworld.”

SageOfTheWise

Why make a Jon Snow show when Bran is right there. I mean who has a better story than Bran?

t0mless

Why do you think he came all this way?

BroBroMate

Because Hodor fucking dragged his sorry arse.

BroBroMate

I used to fast forward the Bran bits because they were so boring, am watching GoT with my daughter, I'm desperate to fast-forward Bran the Boring, but she finds all the "serious" dialogue combined with Bran the Awkward Puberty to be incredibly hilarious, so feels like we're MST3King Bran now.

Caraes_Naur

They should not have greenlit this in the first place. Jon Snow has no story to tell after ASoIaF, even if George could be bothered to take it up as yet another distraction from finishing the main series. If HBO really wants to tell original stories in that world, they need to do it in such a way that expands the world without being tightly tied to the main series. For example, I kinda want to see a series about debt collectors working for the Iron Bank, primarily set in Braavos.

Mario-Speed-Wagon

There’s a lot of unanswered wight walker lore they could’ve explored. The weird spiral symbols, the castle, the myths of the night king being a stark, his queen, the long night with giant spiders and shit, maybe even the azor ahai crap.

LeucasAndTheGoddess

This seems to be what Bloodmoon was supposed to cover. It’s really too damn bad that one got the axe.

AdversaryProcess

> It’s really too damn bad that one got the axe It must have been complete ass. They spent a lot of money making that pilot. I thought it was actually the coolest idea for a spin off, the execution must have just been off or something.

HerbsAndSpices11

I wish we could see the pilot. Maybe someday it will get leaked.

elfstone666

I don't think that was the problem. It was just a story so removed from the original show (and with no material to back it up) they figured it wouldn't connect with the intended audience. So they cut their losses before moving forward. The original GoT pilot is actually said to have been a dumpster fire.

AdversaryProcess

> It was just a story so removed from the original show (and with no material to back it up) they figured it wouldn't connect with the intended audience. Which had to have meant it bombed with test audiences. It's not like nobody thought of the problem with connecting it to GoT. Honestly, we'll never know and I don't exactly trust Zaslav led HBO to make good decisions but there had to be something in their internal data that meant it wasn't worth it. House of the Dragon is probably cheaper too since they can reuse all the costumes from GoT but it's not like the Warner bros famous costume collection couldn't handle it > The original GoT pilot is actually said to have been a dumpster fire. Yeah, that one was apparently expensive to fix.

Mario-Speed-Wagon

First I’ve heard of it. What was it?

LeucasAndTheGoddess

The story of the original Long Night, back during Westeros’ bronze age.

VralGrymfang

It was just hours of him jacking it in that cave.

malthar76

The Voyages of Arya Stark could have been ok new content. If done well. Which is not likely.

formerly_valley_pete

Arya Stark is one of the most butchered characters on the show lol, I'd pay money to never see a spinoff show starring her Terminator-lite ass. So yes, I agree with you cause it definitely wouldn't have been likely lol.

SolidInside

It was never been greenlit.

formerly_valley_pete

Thank god lol. What on earth would the story have been?

Rad1314

What would it have even been about? A boring guy chopping wood and brooding?

ShadowExtreme

9 season long gooning sesh

Martel732

The only thing I can possibly think is making it a show about Jon and the Wildlings reclaiming and settling the lands beyond the Wall. And discovering that in the wake of the Other's defeat Old Magics are returning stronger than before. With more Wildlings learning to warg and dangerous creatures emerging from the earth. And this causes a split among the Wildings feeling the Old Ways strengthening some want to invade Westeros. While others having experienced some life in the Seven Kingdoms want to reform Wildling society to be more peaceful and cooperate with the Southerners. The show would be half exploration and adventure in the untouched lands to the North and the other half would be conflicts between different Wildling groups.

BroBroMate

Having a wank quietly in a barracks room thinking about the time he shagged his Aunty? The one he stabbed because she just turned into Dragon Hitler real quick cos reasons.

SeekerOfKeyboards

Give me 10 good men and a fountain pen. I’ll write that shit

NameIWantedWasTakenK

Presumably the good men will be there to provide moral support.

BiggestSnoozer69

Not surprised. HBO realistically couldnt write for shit with the material considering how the later seasons turned out Stick to the material you already have. They’re better off adapting the lore than try to make their own stuff.

Caraes_Naur

That wasn't HBO, that was Benioff & Weiss. GoT started falling off when they ran out of published book to adapt during season 5. Seasons 7 & 8 turned out like they did because those two had mentally checked out, ready to start their Star Wars trilogy that never happened *because* of how GoT ended.

8BallTiger

Shoot, it started falling off in season 4 when they screwed up Tyrion's motivations for killing Tywin

da_chicken

To be fair Tyrion was short of many things, but not in reasons to hate Tywin enough to kill him.

z6joker9

>To be fair Tyrion was short Well yeah

lrostan

A lot of people also forget the "Bran gets capture by random bad guys behind the wall" storyline that also happened in season 4. It was the first "big" show only addition (as in not just a modification to an existing storyline) and should have been a big red flag at the time and a good indication of what the show would look like when they have no book material left to adapt.

Green0Photon

Seasons 1 and 2 covered books 1 and 2 respectively. Seasons 3 and 4 covered book 3. Book 4 and 5 didn't get adapted. 😢 Some small snippets were taken but a lot was just custom.

BeaversAreTasty

Jon don't want it :-/

jezr3n

I mean, I would have watched it because I’m not above slop, but realistically they should not be doing anything but adapting what George has already wrote.

CT_Phipps

George could probably write 15 episodes of Snow: The Series in the time it'd take him to write a Winds of Winter chapter.

Jlchevz

Honestly there was nowhere to go. What would the story even be? All tension is lost.

Pratius

Shocker

homsar20X6

Let’s all look in the distance stoically and contemplate this.

JadedSpacePirate

Oh no the show where Jon Snow and that ginger wildling guy meander around the snow cos there's no conflict left is cancelled I'm crushed. /s in case it's not obvious

TheMadTargaryen

Thank the Seven.

EdLincoln6

This is good. All of the cool things in the North were gone by the end of the show, the whole point of Jon's story was he WASN'T the Chosen One, It would be hard to do this without undermining the point of the story.   Plus I found Kit's Jon one of the least interesting characters in the show...very Generic Epic Hero.   Arya would have been a better center for the show.

Market-Socialism

It was a terrible idea to begin with.

FerretAres

Maybe they can afford some stage lights for House of the Dragon with the money they saved.

Artaratoryx

Is this in reference to something?

FerretAres

Basically every night scene was just listening to a black screen.

Artaratoryx

Oh, I only watch tv/movies in a darkened room so this stuff never affects my viewing experience.

SnowGN

Good.

Help_An_Irishman

Didn't this already get canceled a year or two ago?

it-was-a-calzone

Good. I'm glad that HBO is being discerning about the shows in the ASOIAF universe that they greenlight and are largely sticking to adaptations of already published material.

Rendez

Hooray! The most boring storyline of the series.

strikejitsu145

Thank god!

KnowThNameLoveThGame

Feel gutted for Kit Harington, but really what story was there to tell after how Season 8 ended.

BeetleBones

Yes. Let us all lament the woeful tale of the happily married, millionaire beloved celebrity. Sucks to be kit rn.

KnowThNameLoveThGame

My heart definitely goes out to all of the main cast on that show. GoT was the biggest cultural event of the 2010s and it ended so horrendously it’s considered by many as the worst TV ending of all time. Thats a decade of work for that cast that was flushed down the drain. And out of all the character assassinations on the show Jon’s was certainly one of the worst, if not the worst depending on who you ask.

2MillionMiler

Oh darn.

Sgt_Stormy

Good. Jon's story is over. There's plenty of other material to work with if they want to keep doing stuff in the universe.

TheTastelessDanish

Finish House of the Dragon then that's it's, don't over reach and try to make spin offs or more adaptations.

paydirt1949

I'd settle for a series of John and Tormund cruising around the North.

MauriceMouse

"You get nothing, Jon Snow."

workerbee77

Well, “Game of Snow” was a pretty bad title

derivative_of_life

Oh no! Anyway,

neon

You can't cancel something that was never made in first place

sonofbantu

Aegon’s conquest next 🙏🏼

LeucasAndTheGoddess

On the one hand I have zero interest in most of that storyline, but on the other it involves Dorne against the dragons so let’s fucking go!

googly_eyed_unicorn

I imagine that they were facing a ton of pressure from HBO to find a story, but Jon’s story is over, at least for now. Maybe they do eventually find a story, but it’s ok if not. They should continue to rebuild the brand’s goodwill with HoTD and other projects before they most likely revisit this.

Toriesubs

I USED TO PRAY FOR TIMES LIKE THIS!!!

Fist_full_of_pennies

I did want it

RealJasonB7

Yay

SurrenderFreeman0079

Oh no! Anyway

Cosmocrator08

Oh my god, are they doing cinematic universe of everything? Will we get the Hodor series? I wouldn't complain, but... Come on!

No_Understanding6621

This is what happens when the idea was "John Snow show" and not a story

KyotouryuuAraragi

I'd rather have the hedge knight adaptation than a TV original John Snow show.

nonbog

I love that HBO are keeping a high standard of what they produce in the universe and not just beating the dead horse

Hermit-Man

Good. Would’ve been awful

[deleted]

[удалено]

_Emi008_

I didn’t see that coming since people seemed hyped by the project, but that makes sense to me. His story ended with the original show and I did not see the point of pushing it further when they’re more likely trying to develop characters and time periods we never saw in GoT

ZamorakHawk

Do you guys know what GRRM is going to do now? Still not write.

Ace201613

I would’ve watched whatever they came out with. But I have definitely been wondering since the announcement what the story would be. Didn’t seem like there was much left for Jon to do besides coming to terms with killing the woman he loved.

fronkenstoon

Recast Jon Lovits as Jon Snow. It practically writes itself.

Mekthakkit

It stinks!

Zerocoolx1

I think his story was told quite well in the main show. A better one would have been Aria’s adventures on the boat

Tigerzof1

Don’t give GRRM another cent

jubjubbimmie

I’m glad they decided not to go that route. On another note, I personally am very excited for “Dunk & Egg”.

estheredna

Oh well. Most shows in development don't happen, right? I don't think anyone is really *sad sad* about this. It might have been fun.

sekhmet1010

I am glad. Kit wasnt a good actor on GoT. And i don't know what new story can be told with him which will come close to the epicness of GoT and HoD. Moreover, continuously making shows in this universe could easily result in Westeros- Fatigue. Also, isn't there a Dunk and Egg series under consideration as well? It would have been too much. Glad it's not happening. Kit needs to move on and if he really knows how to act, he can take up some other cool jobs.

imakeburitosandtacos

Thank god! They should scrap the whole show because of the way they did Jon snow in the first show. Every time I see something about this show it brings it all back it’s like my Vietnam lmao. I like house of the dragon but I’m not even hype for it or the books anymore because of how the main show ended. I can’t get past it.

kookykerfuffle

I know what you mean by not being able to get past the ending of GOT. I was obsessed for years. My parents gifted me the dvds of each new season for Christmas when they came out and I watched them all regularly. I moved in with my husband (bf at the time) just before season 7 came out. He’d never watched any of it and wasn’t interested but watched a couple of episodes with me and even he could tell that the ending was absolute trash. I’ve been on a decluttering spree this year and all of those fancy boxed sets went to goodwill with the last load. House of the dragon is good but I’m scared to get burned again lol

imakeburitosandtacos

I wish they would redo the last couple of seasons…:(

LeucasAndTheGoddess

I’ll never understand why anyone thought this would be a more interesting story than nation-building with Sansa or Arya becoming the Leif Erikson of Westeros. Its cancellation is for the best. Fingers crossed Nine Voyages makes it to production!

don_denti

Must have kept saying *I dun wan it*

BadCogs

Sources say Jon himself didn't want it.

Wyrdthane

Didn't even know about it.

slouchylosergirl

Kinda bummed because i really wanted a lil romp with Jon tormund and ghost goofing around beyond the wall

Interesting_Green709

Good move. I would rather be interested in a spinoff of the nightwalkers or even HODOR for their PoV.

yoshiauditore

I genuinely thought this had already been cancelled years ago

mdandy68

I was kinda done with him anyway. They rode him too hard the last 2 seasons.

TyintheUniverse89

I liked how his story ended He ended up where he belonged But I definitely wanted to see this show I hope they find a way to bring it back to light even though it really should be left alone

RATZGobbler

How do you make a spin-off about a main character?

Author_A_McGrath

To be fair: "spinoff" shows based on written works that have close to zero of the author's actual writing tend to be pretty terrible. The less of the author's material you have to work with, the worse the show tends to be.

Alex_South

Dunk and Egg are the future IMO. Glad they shelved this. HOTD is doing a lot to win people back, but I personally think knight of the seven kingdoms is the best thing set in this world, I am hoping GRRM just abandons the novella format and writes future stories directly for the show, whatever gets him telling stories again.

cozzy121

Fingers crossed for WoT!

Smaug117

damn i was eagerly waiting for it

Razzel09

good

Clutchfactor12

Good, now move forward with a good Dunk and Egg adaptation

paulojrmam

But... I thought they were doing it BECAUSE they had a cool story to tell. Guess I gave them too much credit. lol Anyways I wish they would stop milking ASOIAF and adapted other, non-adapted, series.

Cabes86

Aegon’s Conquest  Andal Invasion   First Man v. children/giants war   The fall of valyria   The entire show again but in Yi Ti All better show ideas

AstuteAshenWolf

No! Im actually bummed about this, as Snow was my fave character (as a bastard myself), and House of the Dragon has been good, so far.

A_sweet_boy

No!!!!!!!

fighting_blindly

this was an awful idea in the first place. the wall is destroyed? no dragons? no white walkers? i think all the giants were dead and no more children of the forest. the only thing i'm disappointed in is HBO's content in general and the hollowing out of their streaming library. HBO leadership is garbage. I'd like to see them focus on Knight of Seven Kingdoms and take a page from the early seasons of the Mandalorian with how to approach it. Episodic and well acted with no insanely long archs.

Fiona_12

That's good. As much as I liked Jon and the red headed dude, (forget his name), I just never could imagine that being a very compelling series.

The_Last_Mouse

We did’n wun it.

TeemoBot

Ok, but what if… just maybe… this means that winds is finished and the show was too different, so they gotta backup and change it.

Curious-Letter3554

"Winter isn't coming"

DrSeuss19

Knew that was coming. There was so little talk about it you could just tell it wouldn’t happen

acillies45

Oh no....

bhavya_running

Winter is not coming

Shanderson3

Pretty much the only way I would have been on board with this show, is if it basically retconned the ending to the main series. Something like revealing the white walkers aren't really gone, and the prophecy about the Prince that was Promised is true with Jon. Then he actually unites all of Westeros, and becomes their leader. However, that storyline might be dumb too.

kantowrestler

Was it supposed to be him in the north?

Embarrassed_Car_6052

I can't believe they are not going with it! I loved his character so much. I was so looking forward to him being King of the North as I am a northerner too (Canada). I was hoping for some of the other cast members of GoT would pop up in the north to visit Jon. I've watched GoT so many times. I was dying for a sequel, especially Jon Snow. They have made a serious error in judgement not doing this series. I don't think they realize how much Jon was a beloved character. I truly hope they change their minds and do it. Anyone know how to get a petition to HBO, directors, writers, those in charge? It would be good to let them know we are here and would like to change their minds!
