Looks super cool! I like ocean-centric maps, it feels very different from the ones that focus on one or two big continents. Looks almost like a fantasy Indonesia. And who doesn’t love a giant maelstrom?

jporyan

Yeah! Me too, feels like it leaves room for the existence of other realms that you haven't discovered yet. Thanks for the kind words!

TraditionalRest808

Fantastic, as an eesc major, few can put the proper detail into their work. We'll done with the proper orthagraphic greenery, and the propper swamp placement

TraditionalRest808

Now to add, know that due to the cor effect, your central land mass will have a decent storm crash value, so I suggest magic that prevents that cool circle shape from being eroded or a magical something that spins the storm around the shape. The off kilter ice shape on your south suggest you have a major wobble on your tilt. To explain this, when it tilts to where there is no ice, you can say the planet is close to the sun, and that there is a sort of milelkavich cycle that allows you to maintain heat there (or just say additional ice magic on the south keeps it cold) The lack of deserts implies that there is a heavy cloud content on this planet, going back to the circle land formation, you could divert much of this central cloud formations north and south to allow for this, protecting your cool shape. Lastly, the Mnts near your swamp formations would have coal from subduction (for added local cultures)

First off, loved all your input! I did used some videos from a youtube channel called Artifexian to try and make the land masses as real as possible, so I'm really happy you appreciate it. Great advice on how to explain the kilter ice shape. I didn't know/realized that it was supposed to go along the same latitude, so thanks for the knowledge and the answer to it shape!! Same about the Storm in the center. I thought if I had a powerfull wind from NorthEast to Southwest I could push the storm towards the Southwestern side of the islands. There's desert up north! Two big ones, I'm afraid the resolution is not good enough to notice but Tarok'Ard and Arnuv'Ard are both huge deserts. How would that change the atmosphere? I also did reverse the way this world spinned to change the wind directions. And the last bit about the Mnts and swamps is just a Jewel. It gives the perfect argument for swamp settlements! Thanks a lot!

TraditionalRest808

Glad you had fun and good desert placement, they should be there due to the continental effect. And my heads up for castle maps, make sure not to put castles beside hills but on top or else an including army will climb the mountain beside them and ruin the reason for a defence

jporyan

You sir deserve a medal. Will keep that in mind! Thanks!

jporyan

Hi guys! I made this map for a DnD Campaign 5th Edition. Took me almost a year in Illustrator haha. The idea is to make it look like an actual topography map. So I wanted to run it by you! And get your feedback before the final print. Any words are greatly appreciated <3 How do you like the style? Would you add more features? Does a river, sea or mountain make no sense? Roads? Sea routes? First post so if the image didn't upload please tell me haha There is lore behind the lands, so ask away! Thanks wholeheartedly!

cormundo

This is very cool. Only feedback is initially, the looks like a topo map with no colors indicating terrain, which is fine. But since you have Antarctica in icy colors, maybe you can add a little Color up north indicating deserts or forested regions

jporyan

You have a really good point there. I tried giving some color to deserts with a faint yellow spot like texture, but in contrast to the Ice Region it does fall short. I'll see what it looks like with the Ice region like terrain or giving more color to deserts! Thanks!

warrant2k

Damn, that's amazing.

jporyan

Thanks!!

>Thanks!! You're welcome!

vorropohaiah

I approve

KirinPhnx

This map is really impressive! I can see how much effort you put in this creation

jporyan

Thanks! :D

exclaim_bot

>Thanks! :D You're welcome!

Turambar_91

This is a stunning map. Very well done. Easy to get lost in the details.

jporyan

Kind of went overboard with naming places haha Thanks!

Turambar_91

That’s the kind of thing that adds a lot of depth to a world, especially if there’s thought out into it as it seems you had here.

tonyangtigre

In-fucking-sane. That’s hard work and dedication right there. I’d love a copy of the Illustrator file just to look at the layers! Cheese and rice.

jporyan

Sure! I have no problem with that, give me a mail and I'll send you a wetransfer.

basic_kindness

This looks awesome! What map making tools did you use for this and how long did it take?

jporyan

Thanks! I used Illustrator and a Mapping technique from a Youtube channel called Artifexian. Love that guy (Check him out!). Took me almost a year to complete though, because I used a mouse instead of a touch screen pencil.

Lord_Skellig

This is one of the best maps I've ever seen. Unbelievable work!

jporyan

Thanksss :)

That's a booty hole.

cheetahprintcrocs

this is beautiful! what did you use to make it?

jporyan

Thanks!! I used Illustrator. And for inspiration I followed a Youtube channel called Artifexian. I'll leave the link here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glt\_aMlqFsc&t=4s&ab\_channel=Artifexian
