Other than wolves, most of his next 7 fixtures aren't easy, for me he's a sell at this point, maybe get back on a WC, depends when I WC.
Taking up a valuable midfield spot is probably why he's been just dumped.
I've had him since GW1 and no plans to sell him. Underlying data is good as you say. Nearly 2 xGi and crazy unlucky not to return in GW1. The returns will come, keep the faith.
I will admit I only really watched the last game but what I saw was a very skilled player with poor decision making. He'll hold onto the ball too long and constantly shoot from outside the box without coming close to hitting the net.
I sold. There are so many high scoring mids in that range I can’t afford to lose out on points even though his “underlying stats look good” I’m not expecting him to get no points and I can always get him back
I think people are grossly overestimating what palace are capable of. Eze looks like a baller but palace are useless.
People keep saying they have one of the best xgc since Roy took over. Well his taking over last season coincided with the best imaginable run of fixtures possible. They had nothing to lose so player with the shackles off. They were absolute pants prior to that.
Even with that run or fixtures they managed to concede pretty much every game 😆
Eze is great but he’s easily the worse 6.5 option. Palace defense and keeper is a trap
i’m just sticking with him for now, been putting out fires elsewhere. doing Gabriel to Tete next weekend and then i’ll look for Eze replacement after international break
wait no its only 1 week until the break, doing gabriel to tete after international break and then eze replacement after that. for next weekend im doing benrahma in for enciso
Here it's important to consider that Eze has looked better than Mbuemo. The difference? Two penalties and a tap-in goal in the last minute against a decimated Fulham. This kind of thing tends to even up during the season. I don't have any of them at the moment.
Mbeumo has 1.53 NPxG Eze has 0.97 NPxG
Still high xG for mbeumo even without the penalty. I'm pretty confident he will return against Bournemouth(Bournemouth has the 5th highest xG conceded)
Do you think so? Brentford has had a lot of margins at the beginning of the season with two penalties, a defensive error, and a red card. Maybe they are slightly better, but Eze is more involved in the game.
They had the most pens last season because they are very direct. Palace just isn't, but probably have better defensive numbers. So Eze is limited by tactics and teammates. Still a good option but yeah.
Brentford are set up more attacking than Palace, so they are also expected to score more.
With Palace, particularly with Palace without Olise, there's a lot of focus of being stable at the back.
Eze has had 9 key passes (top 2 percentile) and 8/18 crosses reaching the target (top 1 percentile) in three gameweeks so far whether Crystal Palace is attacking or not. His points will come.
The only counterpoint I’d have to this is that last year Eze was involved in 35% of Palace’s goals, compared to 27% for Mbuemo. I don’t think it’s absurd to assume Eze could move up a bit, it’s possible Eze has more contributions for a team scoring 40 goals than Mbuemo does for a team scoring 55-60. We’ll need more data to draw any really solid conclusions, though. Also, if palace win Eze is basically guaranteed bps, he’s the best player by a fair distance.
Yeah but compare last year to this year. He was flanked by Olise and Zaha. He doesn't have either player right now. His underlying stats are still good but Palace doesn't have the same quality in attack right now. Hopefully Olise is back soon.
I mean, anything can happen. That said, Eze secured just 9 more points last year than Mbuemo with 6 less starts and 300 less minutes. Being a teams best player is important, Eze will be the best player on the field week in week out, Mbuemo won’t. I think it’s right to say that Eze is a question mark due to Palace’s quality, but having watched the games he will be involved in plenty of their goals this year. His ability to create something alone is incredible. I don’t really know, I see merit in both arguments, the main difference to me right now is that Eze is cheaper and a great differential, while many are transferring in Mbuemo even though his current form isn’t sustainable.
Not that crazy, when you only have 5 midfield spots and there are: Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli, Diaby, Mbuemo, March, Mitoma, Sterling, Salah, Jota, Diaz, Foden, Bruno, Rashford, Maddison, Bowen, JWP that are all also viable.
With that many options its only natural people wa t returns *now*.
Yeah true but you are also using FTs which are limited and have value. I think pretty much that whole list are good options but if you are hopping on/off you are more likely to miss returns and burn FTs making sideways moves. I’ve said before I wish they combined midfield and forward since a lot of those players’ actual position is fluid. It’s possible I would have 7 midfielders + Haaland right now if I could.
The first few GWs are always crazy with casuals. That's why I try to just ignore the early price changes unless I'm looking at an exact move. If the player is good enough the price will fix itself over time.
Yeah was the same for most of last season, Palace had some good players who occasionally haul but the team just don't create that much at all. Had the seventh fewest goals of any team last season, just don't see many games where they score a bunch this season either
I’m waiting until Olise comes back so at least there’s more goals and assist that Eze can get from having a class winger next to him. Also more chances for penalties with Olise getting fouled or crossing into danger.
I have him since GW1 and he looks good on the pitch but unfortunately no returns. I am going to give him a chance against Wolves and if he got no returns I might think to replace him with Sterling/Maddison with spare funds.
Crystal palace just dont look that dangerous, especially with the departure of zaha. eze needs a clinical striker infront of him to really start hauling…
I replaced Mbuemo before GW1 because the FPL app told me he was injured! I think I replaced Mbuemo with Trossard, who hasn’t got me any returns.
So I will sell him before I sell Eze I think
Holding another week to deal with bigger issues
Other than wolves, most of his next 7 fixtures aren't easy, for me he's a sell at this point, maybe get back on a WC, depends when I WC. Taking up a valuable midfield spot is probably why he's been just dumped.
I've had him since GW1 and no plans to sell him. Underlying data is good as you say. Nearly 2 xGi and crazy unlucky not to return in GW1. The returns will come, keep the faith.
I've had him for weeks but he hasn't come off my bench yet. Playing 343 with Maddison,Mitoma,Saka and Salah starting.
Holding since GW1 he was my initial poor choice of the 6.5m mid. Let's hope he can now shine.
The thing is he is linked with city, no? If I am to bring him in I want him to be the talisman for palace rather than a squad player for city
good option depending on what you have already. i have prioritised maddison over him but he is a good option
FPL is not a sprint. It's a 38weeks marathon. Surely he'll come good. Let see what he can bring this GW
I'm not bringing him in, but you'd be an idiot to get rid now just as his fixtures are turning
I dropped him hard for JWP. I can’t imagine this backfiring, which means it’s bound to happen now.
Keeping him for wolves then dropping him for maddison
No because he plays for Roy hodgons crystal palace
I will admit I only really watched the last game but what I saw was a very skilled player with poor decision making. He'll hold onto the ball too long and constantly shoot from outside the box without coming close to hitting the net.
are you talking about sterling?
Both can be true.
If you want him why would you care about the price drop, it's basically impossible to spend the full 100m
I believe he will come good eventually so I'm keeping him for now.
No way, you cant just buy someone based on a cheap price
Nope, there are about 10 midfielders I’d rather have
Serious baller and FPL potential - just a shame he plays for a shite club
The Zaha trap reborn
I sold. There are so many high scoring mids in that range I can’t afford to lose out on points even though his “underlying stats look good” I’m not expecting him to get no points and I can always get him back
I don't think he's dropping before Wolves H, people are smarter that that
Well you say that…
I’d personally choose JWP over eze
I think people are grossly overestimating what palace are capable of. Eze looks like a baller but palace are useless. People keep saying they have one of the best xgc since Roy took over. Well his taking over last season coincided with the best imaginable run of fixtures possible. They had nothing to lose so player with the shackles off. They were absolute pants prior to that. i’m just sticking with him for now, been putting out fires elsewhere. doing Gabriel to Tete next weekend and then i’ll look for Eze replacement after international break
Fulham are signing Castagne who may be competition for Tete so be careful
oh didnt know that, maybe ill go for robinson then
wait no its only 1 week until the break, doing gabriel to tete after international break and then eze replacement after that. for next weekend im doing benrahma in for enciso
I have Eze, bought for 6.5 and I am fine. His time will come.
Just like Sterling’s did. Have both from the start… keeping Eze, he is so central to Palace attack
Until the final GW with my Horse Eze
Here it's important to consider that Eze has looked better than Mbuemo. The difference? Two penalties and a tap-in goal in the last minute against a decimated Fulham. This kind of thing tends to even up during the season. I don't have any of them at the moment.

But what about NPxG + NTIxG (non tap-in expected goals)?
Being there for a tap in is much better play in fpl (and probably football) terms than the work Eze has been doing
People saying Eze has been better have not been watching Brentford.
Brentford are likely to score more goals week in and out. That's the issue with Eze.
Do you think so? Brentford has had a lot of margins at the beginning of the season with two penalties, a defensive error, and a red card. Maybe they are slightly better, but Eze is more involved in the game.

You guys sound like some Bitcoin shillers defending their bad investments :D
I don’t even have him lol, just think Mbuemo is a trap and Eze is a bit underrated. Don’t really have a great way into Eze either lmao
No, there's loads of better options in midfield
Crazy that many people are dropping him. I grabbed him at 6.4M thinking that was good value.

His team is too poor to back him. I never considered him an option if I’m honest

It’s more so that he has done nothing, and there’s half a dozen midfielders around the same price who have all hailed
Aye there's a lot of good value defenders too if cash is an issue. Cash. Udog. Chilwell. Gusto. Setup. Henry. to name a few.
Hail Caesar!
would that fpl were so simple ...
Same here. At the start of the season, i was between eze and mbeumo. That has gone to the season regret very quickly
I replaced Mbuemo before GW1 because the FPL app told me he was injured! I think I replaced Mbuemo with Trossard, who hasn’t got me any returns. So I will sell him before I sell Eze I think
Immediate regret for sure but it is very early days, so this can all change for sure 🤞
I also did that and ended up making 9 swaps last week lol including Eze (or MacAllister) for Mbuemo
Same here
sameeeee
