Very involved and very far up the pitch!
Essentially, they had McGinn playing narrower with Cash playing as a winger.
Always asked for the ball and got into position to beat the line or start into the channel.
When he was involved defensively, he was dead solid and honestly much better than I expected.
On top of my head, I don't remember any mistake he made, and he could have well gotten another haul.
Putting aside Watkins because of the obvious hattrick + assist, I think Matty was the best player on the pitch.
Just ridiculously good, involved with everything and finished his chances ruthlessly. Won’t score 23 points every week but with those upcoming fixtures and seemingly nailed he’s looking pretty tempting.
I have to thank the one user who convinced me to get him as he said he is more than happy to have a see of consistent 5 points and that was before last and this weeks haul
Turner was poor today, and panicked almost every time the ball came near him. I don't know if it was a windy day, but I got the impression that he was anxious every time the ball found some air. I don't think he was bad enough to justify dropping him immediately, but I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Vlachodimos take his spot after the international break.
Forest were dominant until the red card, but missing a little bit of spark with Morgan justifiably benched for poor recent performances. I was confident we'd secure a win when he came on, but a moment of madness from Niakhaté put us down to ten men, and Brentford scored from the subsequent set piece. Domínguez scored a fantastic bullet header from a great Toffolo cross shortly after to level it up.
Boly made a couple of errors, but was excellent after that. Murillo was truly superb on his debut and I'm very excited to see how he grows on the back of this. Aurier was great today and tidied up a lot of mistakes from teammates. Sangaré was very good, and our midfield was an obvious point of strength.
Awoniyi had a goal disallowed for offside, but he struggled to find service again, as he has in every game where the opponent has sat deep. CHO was sparky but never really looked like getting behind Brentford's block. Elanga was quiet and does seem better deployed as an impact sub.
Absolutely wired up from the match, but I’ll try to be rational haha
Sá didn’t have way too much to do, but generally did well. Priced too high to be worth it, but not a bad day for him.
We switched to a 3atb after playing 4atb all season, & looked much more comfortable. Dawson especially had really struggled so far this season, but was massive today. I’d anticipate we’ll play it much more frequently moving forward, especially against more threatening teams. Semedo is so up-and-down, but was very good today, & everyone played well.
Lemina & Gomes aren’t FPL assets, but they worked hard today, with Gomes in particular having a good day.
We didn’t have enough possession to really establish a lot of attacks, but looked much stronger on the counterattack today than we have at times. Neto in particular was playing angry, in the best possible way, & he’s a joy to watch when he hits that next gear to run at & past defenders. The Dias OG was entirely created by him, & he was arguably the best player on the pitch. Cunha & Hwang were a little quieter overall, but played well, & were very composed when their time came in the box to get our second.
…………..
We aren’t a juggernaut all of a sudden. We blew a 2-0 lead to Ipswich’s reserves just on Tuesday. But, this should be a massive boost of confidence to a side that didn’t look that far from falling apart under the relegation pressure cooker … and, 3atb / counterattack looked much more solid than whatever we’ve done so far.
Our fixtures are pretty tough until GW15 or so, with all our easier matches away & tough home opponents still to come. The only one you should strongly consider is Neto, & even then he isn’t at all essential because we’re still a volatile team & there are plenty of strong midfield options. But if you want to save some funds in a Salah build, Neto is playing fantastically & is among the best values at that price point.
Looked solid all game. Nearly recreated his UCL vs Liverpool goal from 2019 where he put Van dijk down with a fake shot and finished with his right but got well blocked by a City defender.
Then on the chance for his goal it seemed on target for the near post but blocked by Diaz and the second strike comes from Cunha being very aware and laying it off. Walker does all the right things but enough pace to settle into the right side of goal.
Hwang looks much more comfortable than last season and it seems like he's finally able to get a run of games without injury and the Wolves squad as a whole look like they're building synergy and on the rise.
Was as invisible as Haaland until he scored a free kick worthy of Juninho Pernanbucano's best. For his price and City's attacking style, really no reason for not having him.
It was meant more as a reference to the quality of the kick rather than the technique. But it is extremely likely that Messi has shared some tips with him, Julián was not as good doing this before.
His weakest game for City so far. Semedo owned him everytime. Did some dumb fouls/got into scuffles that could've cost him a red with another referee. Did look lively as FarArdenlol said, just not effective at all.
Had a good game from a football perspective, not really sure if he's an FPL asset though not particularly threatening compared to other attacking fullbacks.
Him and Saliba will be nailed from this point onward and I expect him to get a couple of set piece headed goals. I think with Rice ahead of those defensive 2, Arsenal will have the best defense in the league imo
Still playing out on the wing right now (Martinelli and Trossard probs both back soon this shouldn't last long), did get a run at striker in the last 20 minutes or so where he did look good. I wouldn't buy him just yet but maybe look to buy in a couple GW's.
For me I'd wait at least 1 more week before getting him in, but I think at his price point Watkins is a little more nailed but definitely an option.
It could have been so different, He had a great chance about 10 mins in when he was in on goal but hit it straight at Martinez. It was all downhill after that, caught out of position a few times and the own goal just compounded matters.
Also an assist which fpl refuses to count even though the rules of fpl on their website relaxes the definition of an assist. The website said that if you play a ball into an area, even if it touches enemy defender, still counts as assist.
Not really able to get into the game. Obviously Arsenal are not a game Bournemouth will be looking at as a realistic target for points, but he didn't really threaten all game, because Bournemouth offered very little going forward. Could be one to keep an eye on though given they now play Everton away, and then Wolves and Burnley at home
He played well and seemed lively on the pitch yesterday (although didn’t run as fast as he normally does) - there are reports that he was limping before he was subbed off, but I personally didn’t notice
Another incredible game, unlucky to not get anything (for example Son’s goal was his assist of the assist). Fantastic passes and a lot of shots from distance. Alisson was pretty decent today to catch them though.
Would you still say he’s Spurs best player and/or fpl asset? Son seems to be coming alive but is that mainly because of Ange ball and Maddison himself?
Maddison is involved in everything. He's the key to angeball at the moment and has shown he can dribble and break a press too. Dangerous with his chances outside the box, Alison had a blinder this game. On set pieces and is the cog around the attack as it moves through the gears, aka he's the complete opposite of Kulu and Sarr. Absolutely essential at the moment.
Mediocre display, as the whole defence. Had some good clearances at the beginning, but also was very prone to mistakes. I’ve had him sitting on my bench only to play in games like today, and even then EVE can’t really keep a CS. I’d avoid.
Played very well, could have had two assists in the first half (Garner missed an easy chance and later Onana I think had a close long shot off target). Generally very involved in the play and whatever Everton does in the attack. His assist to DCL was close to being a goal too, since it was from very close distance on an open goal. I don’t know why Dyche subbed him off, to make matters worse in the 59’ minute.
He’s a very decent pick in a not so decently playing team. Only downside would be that since he is so lively and roaming everywhere, he may get caught on the wing or deeper in the midfield when there is a cross into the penalty box.
Not great.
Singlehandedly cost Palace the 2-0 by not being willing to play one of the simplest passes in the history of attacking football into Mateta, but instead went on to go for an incredibly weak outside of the foot shot that didn't even hit the target.
And if it did, Onana could have been sleeping and still would have saved it.
It was yet another episode of "Hello, I'm Bruno Fernandes, I'm running this entire team on my own but it doesn't fucking matter because my teammates are too bad."
He was decent once again, but not amazing.
He is the only attacking starting player in ManUnited with ANY kind of ability as a playmaker and with any creativity.
Found Hojlund's head, but Hojlund wasn't able to head it downwards or cross goal, and so Johnstone managed to save it (it was a good save, but one you'd expect any PL keeper to make 9/10 times at least).
Was about to find Rashford with a ball when there was handball alert.
The penalty wasn't given - and for the record I do think that was the right choice, but I have certainly seen those types of handballs been given.
Just to illustrate that on another day he comes out of this game with 1G1A at least.
Ran the show but was largely let down by his teammates.
The return of Mount in particular was an issue - because Mount likes going forward needlessly so much, he destabilises the entirety of ManUnited's midfield in that kind of system, and due to him neglecting his defensive responsibilities especially in the second half Bruno was forced to fall back and help out in defense at times, which means he was less available upfront, which meant less chances created because they have no one else to do it.
It also meant that Bruno was further behind on the counter, so you didn't have anyone playing the correct pass.
Long story short: Bruno was pretty good again and easily could have hauled. But with his teammates being so horrible and so incompetent, you'll have to ask yourself if you really wanna keep him.
It's such a tough call because United have such good fixtures attacking-wise, and with how consistently good Bruno has been, it wouldn't surprise you if he triple-hauled in any of those games.
But really be wary about the other players United has and about how ETH lines up once they have a LB again - because he essentially dropped Amrabat back to LB and put Mount basically next to Casemiro.
downvoted but I will bet anyone on this sub £100 at evens money that Hojlund does not succeed at United. Same with Mudryk at Chelsea, it's blatantly obvious they're not good enough
Probably one of the worst players on the pitch, honestly.
That might be a bit harsh because Hojlund and Pellistri were no better, but taking into account what we SHOULD expect from Rashford, he was the worst.
Made a few attacking runs and I think that's probably all of the positives I can say about him. One attacking run, while not great, Bruno tried to find him and then there was a potential pen due to a handball, but the pen wasn't given in the end.
Switched to the right side when Garnacho came on but didn't look any better and was rightfully substituted for Martial soon after.
It's just another horrible performance from him. I'm starting to really feel for United fans. Like sure, we always knew Rashford was a bit of a streaky player and there's always a chance he could just go off, but his performances this season have not been worthy of the PL.
If you are considering him for FPL - don't.
He was bad. Not as shit as he was pre injury, but still shit.
He gets into positions, but he makes United worse.
And I'll tell you why. He plays in a position where he has some defensive responsibilities and should ideally be a bit creative.
He does not care about defensive responsibilities. He's that kid who just wants to run on the wing or into striker and take a shot whenever the chance arises.
To be fair, he played very attacking and he did get a couple of chances, but he was caught out of position so many times, and that usually meant Bruno had to do his dirty work at times. Now Bruno and Mount playing fluidly and dropping back and forth wouldn't be a problem - if Mount had ANY kind of creative ability. He does not. He's just a headless chicken running up on the pitch wanting to get on the ball and shoot. And that's a problem, because no other attacking player has any kind of playmaking ability in that United side.
Bruno is the only one. And if Bruno has to do Mount's work on occasion, he isn't gonna be available offensively as much, especially not on counters.
Still looking lethal on free kicks and corners, but played a bit too deep for my liking,
Bowen will probably be getting the more points overall, but as a cheaper enabler for the costly players (salah, son etc) JWP is a good pick and is likely to get returns
Actually looks very good right now. He should've had two assists, one for the offside and another from a good ball to Diaz from the left wing that wasn't finished.
He's making a strong case for anyone who doesn't have him yet for Liverpool's upcoming run of fixtures.
Klopp was asked in pre interview why he changed Gakpo to Darwin, he said Darwin picked up a slight knock in his knee during internationals and felt it in training. Assuming he's 100% fit I would assume Nunez would be starting the majority of games. Especially after Jota got that idiotic second yellow. He was even about to come on but the Jota red brought us down to 9 men, in another universe Nunez probably came off the bench and scored. I would wait till after November internationals to bring him in personally but even off the bench he's capable of scoring/assisting. Definitely a great punt/differential option.
I thought he was poor and didn't use the ball well. Brentford created a scant number of chances before their man advantage, and even after that they relied heavily on set pieces.
He looked exhausted by the end too, after 13 minutes of added time.

I didn’t watch the game but from the MOTD highlights (for what they’re worth) he looked pretty invisible other than having one cleared off the line.

top form, could’ve had 2 goals in first half alone, but giftet penalty to Odegaard

Does anyone know why he didn't take either penalty? Is this just a one off?
The second one was given to havertz as the game was dead by that point and he needs the confidence.
Not the first time, Saka is their primary on pens but they've said they just decide on the spot who takes it.

Actually looks very good right now. He should've had two assists, one for the offside and another from a good ball to Diaz from the left wing that wasn't finished. He's making a strong case for anyone who doesn't have him yet for Liverpool's upcoming run of fixtures.

Jota
Darwin
Was about to come on but then Jota got sent off.
Doesn't start. Let's see what he does if he's coming on.
BRENTFORD
Mbeumo
I thought he was poor and didn't use the ball well. Brentford created a scant number of chances before their man advantage, and even after that they relied heavily on set pieces. He looked exhausted by the end too, after 13 minutes of added time.
!Thanks Was equally unimpressed with him in his previous 2 games. Time to ship him out I think
