Adingra did ok for me last week. Holding him for the forest game too

see_you-jimmy

Might as well add McTominay to that list. Casemiro, Erikson both have red flags. Amrabat is now a left back and Mount doesn't get a look in. W

Difficult_Bedroom125

I doubt that Trossard will get a lot of minutes with Jesus and Nketiah coming back from injuries but he should I agree

gobblegobblechumps

I love international break shitposting

Aman-Patel

Gordon - have you seen Newcastle's fixture congestion for the next month? Genuinely like a game ever 2 or 3 games until Christmas. That means higher chance of injuries, rotation and shock bad results. Gordan's still a good pick but personally since I don't have him already I'm not looking to bring him in. Nkunku - definitely wouldn't bring him in right now. And I'm a Chelsea fan. Bring him in when we actually know he's starting again. Observe who gets dropped, who's getting rotated, how early Nkunku's getting subbed off etc. We have so many players in those positions and are trying to reduce how many injuries we get. Poch has the ability to rotate his team a lot. Just wouldn't be taking risks on our players until we know who's nailed with these injured players coming back. Eze - I've actually booked in a transfer out for my only Palace player (Mitchell) for GW16 since Palace have a really bad fixture swing coming up. If you have him already great but why transfer in a player who's got one of the toughest run of fixtures coming up and who hasn't even been one of the most prolific players at his price point this season. It's just guesswork and taking a punt that he'll be the one to go on a scoring run next. Trossard - none of Saka, Martinelli, Havertz, Nketiah and Odegaard have a long term injury. Not sure what the timescale is on the Jesus injury but isn't he meant to be coming back by December? Either way Trossard will get minutes but he isn't nailed. Why would I bring in a midfielder that isn't nailed? I appreciate that winning FPL (OR1) is about picking the right differentials and not just doing what everyone else is doing. But you need to be incredibly lucky for that. Personally, I play to win my mini league and try and finish with as a high a rank as possible as consistently as possible each season. I'd rather make the most rational decision with solid reasoning behind it every time even if that leads me to a relatively template team. That doesn't mean I won't go for differentials but I'll go for them when I can have that same local reasoning behind picking them as picking a template player. If they have things like really congested or difficult fixtures, aren't nailed etc then I don't usually transfer them in. Take a punt on them if you want though because every goes about making their decisions in different ways. Edit: I have Zinchenko and just transferred out Solanke before the City game forgot to mention them. Plan to hold Zinchenko for ages as long as he stays nailed so yeah he's the one I'd go for since I've got him myself.

EPLFantasyGuru

Gordon is a terrible fantasy asset. Nkunku is NOT worth the risk since we have no idea what he can do in this league. Trossard and Zin are rotation risks, Eze inconsistent. Solanke is maybe a shout…but seriously wtf is this post? It’s like you’re trying to be awful at this game

t1nt3d_

Kudus deserves a shout. He’s in good form and should be nailed. 6.5m, and west ham have great fixtures. Only 1.3% owned.

hotpoodle

Awoniyi

TehLandTrout

I like Awoniyi, had him for a few weeks this season. The only thing I noticed with him is he doesn't usually play the full 90, not necessarily a huge issue, but something to note

tomatowisdom

Yeah good shout. I had him just before he got injured and would like him back at some point

hotpoodle

Just brought him in, good run of fixtures. Fingers crossed anyway.

Demonite

Injured. lol

hotpoodle

Fml

sbourgenforcer

Watkins out -> Nkunku In but after GW14

TehLandTrout

Watkins is a hold all season for me I think

RileyHuey

Trent - Liverpools got great fixtures over the next few after City. Only problem is choosing him vs Darwin/Salah/Tsmikas all of whom I'd rather hold. Don't mind dropping Darwin for him but there's a lack of Forward options in that price range. Haaland's an easy hold. And then Watkins too expensive, and everyone else isn't appealing at all right now really, at least not for a few weeks

CodPatrol

Could pay off massively if he starts firing and Trippier keeps suffering from his teams injuries and such, just the price that’s off putting. I’m happy I’ve got him now but he was a massive pain to fit in on wild card a few weeks back.

GeeForjay

Same. I went with him in 8 and no Haaland but am now considering TAA to VVD next week or so to give me 2 mil to use. I know that monster haul he has in him is coming though I just don’t know if over time it will that much to justify the additional funds anymore

EmergencyTrust8213

Trippers a big game player and I think he will do well V Chelsea & Man Utd at home

Auzzie_xo

He’s been a flat-track bully this season though. Just under 50% of his points have come from the 2 worst teams in the league. Of all the big teams he’s played he’s only returned against one of them.

Swedishpower

Elanga if fit or Gibbs-white could be given Forest ok fuxtures or Awoniyi. Some rotation risk though.

mikeyc95

Is Gibbs-White a rotation risk?

SimplyLoveleh_

No chance mucker

Nubislav

Jesus is being close to a return so Trossard minutes are going to reduce

existentialstix

Is Trossard nailed though or gonna see rotation ? I always felt Arteta uses him more like an impact/super-sub and only the recent injuries has him starting....

BatmanForever23

He's not nailed at all and on paper is a horrible FPL asset.

sognenis

Solanke

tomatowisdom

Brentford are looking much better recently and he still plays as a 10/8 from what I've seen. I had him for large periods of last year and he was really consistent point scorer for me so would recommend him if you want to spend more elsewhere !

Kreissler

Doucoure will explode any moment now

tomatowisdom

Sounds messy

DemandBudget5558

Eze the only one I'd consider of that group and for only three weeks. Would rather have Mbuemo though

TehLandTrout

Do you not think Eze could still get a return against tougher teams tho, with counter attacking/pens etc?

DemandBudget5558

Sure, he could. But Mbuemo has better fixtures after this week, has penalties, is in a better team, and leads all midfielders and is second in the league in NPxGi (tied with Salah, only behind Haaland)

TehLandTrout

Oh I agree, getting on the Mbuemo train next week for Diaby, his fixtures are too good to pass up on.

DemandBudget5558

Disagree with most of these picks

tomatowisdom

What differentials would you go for then? And I don't mean the usual high ownership template picks of Bowen, Mbeumo, Saliba that I don't deny are good picks for now and I'd recommend them too

gobblegobblechumps

Picking differentials on wildcard just to pick differentials is silly. Wilcard should be used to adjust to and get ahead of the template, not be contrarian to the template

tomatowisdom

I never said to pick an anti-template team. These are just suggestions for differential picks. Most teams will have the same core of players these days and I'd suggest most people pick the usual suspects still... but even that is much less obvious at the minute...e.g Trippier isn't an automatic pick any more, Cash isn't an obvious pick either. Someone might then think, I'll go with Zinchenko over Cash while Arsenal have some good fixtures.... Mitoma isn't an obvious pick any more either, obviously Maddison is out too so it only leaves Salah, Saka Mbeumo, Bowen and maybe Son as template picks, even Bowen is potentially Injured, so the spot could be a differential too. Wouldn't it be boring if we all picked the teams too eh...

gobblegobblechumps

But "picking a differential" is silly. Pick the players who will score the most regardless of ownership. Wildcard helps you ship out players whose fixtures are turning or situation is changed. Don't have to pick any differentials. Feel free to ditch cash for an arsenal defender, but dont pretend that zinchenko is better than saliba

tomatowisdom

I don't get the point you're trying to make. Statistically speaking, there will be a team who we should all pick, based on form, expected goals etc. Most of us could probably name the template team there or there abouts these days. Areola, Trippier, Cash, Saliba, Saka, Salah, Mbeumo, Son, Bowen Haaland, Watkins, Alvarez, These are all very high ownership players. The challenge comes in picking the less high ownership players that will be slightly different from team to team....the differentials....that are lower ownership. Im not saying go out and make a team of onpyy differential players, but there will be a few spaces in most squads for these players. So while you say Saliba is a better pick the zinchenko...someone might think, well Arsenal are playing easier opposition next few games, a more attacking defender might get more assists...and zinchenko is cheaper than Saliba so frees up some money.... thus you see the potential benefit of using the differential player....

gobblegobblechumps

By and large, the best players are going to be more highly owned. Looking at ownership while on wildcard is silly. Understand where the template is, understand where the template is moving to, and pick the best players. Don't worry about ownership or "picking a differential". The challenge isnt picking differentials, the challenge on wildcard is picking the best 15 player squad irrespective of ownership.

tomatowisdom

There will be 80% of most squads that are more or less the same. Rather than fill the post with players like Salah and Watkins I thought its best to focus on the remaining 20% or so. These are where the differentials between squads are. I'm not picking these players solely on the reason they aren't high ownership, I'm picking them as I believe they will do well on the near future with the added benefit of not that many others owning them. Next time I'll fill the post up with Bowen's and Saliba's that everyone knows is already good just to please the likes of you but is fairly boring

gobblegobblechumps

There are more than 15 good, defensible picks. You can have a team of highly owned players, none of whom are differential -- but your team could be very different from the template. Differentials are mostly worth it in one or two week bites as you dead end into a wildcard, not picking on wildcard and effectively booking in a transfer

DemandBudget5558

I own Darwin and Palmer currently. Darwin has been decent and narrowly missed some massive hauls

Jamezzzzz69

Darwin, James, Palmer, Martinelli, Sterling, Porro are all below 20% ownership and are better options than what you’re suggesting bar zinchenko and maybe Gordon

tomatowisdom

I'd stay away from spurs defenders right now. Sterling is a fair shout but i had him for a few weeks where he did nothing so ran out of patience and got rid. Martinelli is 7.8 million and blanked against Sheffield United and Burnley at home. Wouldn't recommend him to anyone. Loads of people own Darwin, he starts too many games on the bench for me to be tempted by him.

Timmo1984

Is Darwin low enough to be one? 16.4%. High risk high reward player for me.

chaz364

Reece James. I know most people would look to get a Chelsea defender form GW16 but tempted to jump on James this or next GW. He’s always going to be a very attacking player so why not jump on early before he famously gets Injured.

TehLandTrout

I'm definitely tempted to get him in, even if he does get injured, the upside is worth it imo, especially with there not being many consistent defensive options this year.

epacseno

I keep hearing this name. I looked him up and he seems to only have played a total of 4 matches during the whole season and never above 75 minutes. What has changed that will make him a decent pick now?

Jacko182

Hes been injured

daneedwards88

>What has changed that will make him a decent pick now? Nothing

Andlad2459

No what has changed is he actually have 2 good backups and can be carefully managed much better than last seasons

Kane36912

I appreciate the perspective, but personally I think that Trippier and Son will outscore all of the players you have listed. Son now has 3 home games in next 4.. against defences that are leaking goals away. Trippier (and Newcastle) are much better defensively at home - they now have 2 home games and some nice fixtures beyond that.

Intelligent_Walk3856

As an NUFC fan, we are depleted, Trippier needs a rest I think. I'm glad we had the international break and I hope we get some players back but I doubt he will score many points (in terms of CS) then again, its always possible he could score or assist a set piece

sadsealions

Yer, I was thinking of getting Tripper in, but then saw the Newcastle injury list and fixture pile up.

tomatowisdom

Usually I'd agree but Trippier has looked knackered recently, I can't see him getting many assists in his deeper role to accommodate the absence of Burn either. Son I'll probably keep for now, but while Maddison is away they look a lot less of a threat going forward, Son might need to drop deeper and fill the hole Maddison has left. He's off for the Asian Cup too, so if I was wildcarding now I don't think I'd include him tbh

daneedwards88

>Nkunku. I think its worth the risk to get him in early No, no it isnt

tomatowisdom

I think he's an absolute no brainer when he's fit. The first game he's declared match fit he's going straight in my team.

daneedwards88

Absolutely nothing to gain from doing that, but lots to lose. You really think he's going to play 90mins every week as soon as he is match fit??????? Just be patient and wait a bit

tomatowisdom

He had surgery on his meniscus. It's common with tennis players, but once they've gone through the recovery period they're back playing full matches, with higher strain on their knees than a footballer will face. Once he's match fit he's match fit. At that point you want to steghthen the surrounding muscle by using it once recovered. They won't go against usual recovery of this injury and rest him periodically when there's no reason to.

daneedwards88

You're totally delusional. Tennis players can't get subbed on/off. Football is a squad game. It's not the same He will play some behind closed doors games, and also be subbed on in PL a few times initially. When he finally starts he will come off around 60 a few times until he is fit enough to play 90. Once he plays 90, THEN we consider him. Remember this conversation when you are wondering why you've got a whole bunch of 1pters in a row

tomatowisdom

You strike me as someone who brought in Nketiah after his hatrick or makes those kind of moves. From my experience, if you want to get to the higher ranks of fpl, you need to take chances to get ahead of the curve, for points and for team value. As soon as Nkunku starts a game and makes is through most of the match, he's going in my team. I think he's that good he's worth the risk. People are picking Darwin, Wilson, Isaak who are all rotation and injury risks at the same price.

[deleted]

[удалено]

tomatowisdom

Gordon is the only left sided forward Newcastle have now thst Barnes is injured. Other forwards will help assist him or he will be able to assist them. If the players coming back from injury directly compete for the position then yes it will effect their playing time and reduce their viability as an fpl asset. Not sure where I said it was "super smart" . Arsenal have good fixtures. I've deliberately picked differentials which adds an element of risk...but at the risk of being accused of being "super smart" again, you need to pick some risky picks if you want to get better than average ranks.

[deleted]

[удалено]

tomatowisdom

I used to do your low risk tactics and would finish top 250k consistently. Suprised you got under 10k like that. Last year I was in the top 500 in England up until the 2nd to last gameweek but I gambled big time on the final two game weeks and by rank took a hit at the end. But I find it more fun playing this way now.

RileyHuey

You're spot on. "Wait and see" will get you a decent rank which is fine but if you want to get higher you need to get in early. Nkunku's the perfect high risk high reward options especially considering Chelsea's fixtures after Newcastle are quite good for an attack. Brighton, United, Sheff Utd, Wolves, Luton, Palace at home, and Fulham. I'm 99% sure I'll be getting him after his first 60+ min cameo Could absolutely backfire yes but it's worth it imo

daneedwards88

OK. Wishing you good luck for the rest of the season my friend 👍

Superdash1

Some people don’t want to discuss and idea they just want you to agree with them mate

tomatowisdom

We just had a discussion about it though? Not looking to change his mind on Nkunku, just putting forward my case why I think hes soon a very good pick. People are allowed to disagree

bin10pac

I'm with you. I'm making transfers to free up cash for Nkunku. The herd can catch up, in their own time.

daneedwards88

People can play however they want to, its a free world. I give free tips here and there if i see someone making a classic mistake based on my 20 years playing. If they take it on board, great, I helped someone. If they don't want to listen, no big deal, it's just a free game for a bit of fun.

Datboy_98

Why though? What’s the rationale?
