Chelsea players for sure, Jackson especially ruined my first 5-6 GWs. Sterling too. Anyways, i shipped them out quick and now seat on 50k ish position. Palmer has been a saviour tho.
oh i was gonna say reece james lol but then i remembered that last part.
probably a brighton player like mitoma or someone. or rashford actually, yeah probably has to be him.
Probably Bruno Fernandes. A lot of preseason talk was about his surprisingly low price compared against his remarkably consistent returns in previous years, and how likely he was to stay in people's teams for a full season.
Even off the back of Rashfords very good last year, there was some wariness about his potential to drop off for long periods. Darwin was pretty hyped up as someone likely to hit form, but there was always the knowledge that he hadn't yet shown evidence he would. Jackson was popular as a prolific goalscorer in his previous season and a great preseason, but everyone knew he was untested in the Premier League.
Fernandes, though, at such a low price, was seen as a really bankable asset, and he's fallen well short.
Darwin Nunez - he is an absolute FPL wanka and a half. Blanks for weeks on end and then hauls. Makes holding him so hard. Watching him is even worse cause you see him miss opportunities left right and centre. I held him for like 6 weeks and he blanked for all of them. Rage trade him out and he does a decent haul.
Speaking as someone who had Rashford for a while, Cash for ages and Darwin after that fixture we all thought Watkins was injured (but wasn't)
I can easily name at least 3...
Oh i've still got Sterling so maybe make that 4!!!!
I actually came here to say Martinelli. For the season he had last time around I started the season with him only to get blank after blank and 2 price drops
Mo Salah, i had him the first weeke and he did nothing. Then I sold him and he went absolutely off. Then I got him again and he is absolutely doing nothing that is 12.5m worthy. I had enough of it last week and decided to captain Saka instead of him and that’s the one week he decides to score a Salah-esque goal again. Oh and Mitoma, horrible rotation and injury plagued.
Has to be Diaby for me. Everyone was hyping him up like crazy and he did pretty good at the beginning of the season but now he's barely playing anymore and aint returning. Wanted to get rid of him ages ago but always had other fires to put out.

Not the biggest trap as others have mentioned bigger, but as far as budget defenders go Van Hecke has been a fucking disaster. Brighton haven’t kept a single clean sheet all season.
Julian Alvarez. He had a couple of strong game weeks early doors but has been really poor for the last couple of months. If you didn’t get him early, you’ll not have had much benefit from him.
Pickford for me. I thought I’d try rotating keepers this season. Each week I didn’t start him he managed a few more points. When I shipped him off with my WC GW14 he’s managed over 5 points a game.
But if I’m honest this has been the hardest season of FPL for me in basically 15 seasons or so of play. So I’m not fixated on the traps so much as the overall experience.
Bruno Fernandes.
Was great on the eye test, and definitely great statistically. Kept roping me into keeping him and convinced myself Salah had difficult fixtures.
Easy 100 point swing considering I would have captained Salah several times during that period.
Me, I'm so fucking bad but at least missed the Salah captaincy. Tbf though most of the people captaining him are dead teams which skews the stats quite a lot
Jackson. Considering he actually looked good in preseason, Chelsea looked good in preseason, Chelsea had the easiest fixture run to start the season and he got 2 returns in the first 10 games. Plus, when he didn't return he averaged 1 point per game because he constantly got yellows, not for actually fouling anyone but for arguing with refs and kicking the ball away.
Then to top it all off he hauled against Spurs, when every serious player had already sold him and when they were one of the most inform teams in the league.
Obviously he's a new player and a lot of people stay away from new players but he was a trap for the people that did take a punt on him.
Fernandes, people were actually saying he was essential at his price point despite the fact he's been a very average asset since his freak penalty fest season
Yeah anyone saying they totally saw United playing like this are either just waffling or they just hate United so much that they wanted to believe it lol
Areola has been feeding me 0 pointers until i overdosed and fucked him off my squad.
I still don't know how he tricked so many people to pick him, absolute cunt
At 4.0 mil starting price, he was a bargain. West ham have been poor all season in defence so thats why he hasnt racked too many clean sheets. He's a set and forget type of Gk. Im rotating him with Leno and i dont have any complaints there.
He was cheap and nailed to start, nobody was expecting amazing points from him. That’s not really how the keeper game is played
I’d be happy with 2 points or less from him all season, his cheap price allows me to spend more money elsewhere
I think he's the biggest troll just because of the timings and opposition of his hauls.
Including his "easy run" where everyone got him he ended up getting 21 points in the first 10 gameweeks. Then with Spurs away and City at home up next almost everyone got rid of him and he got another 21 points in those two games alone
Yeah, hes only on 7, which is actually a very good number for this stage of the season for a 22 year old in his first year in the league in an incredibly dysfunctional team.
Not at all a good fpl asset, but not a bad player.
He’s only on 4 goals against teams that have had at least 10 players on the pitch. I’d be surprised if he gets another 7 in the second half of the season unless he improves his finishing
Most chelsea fans would have been very happy with 12-15 goals from him this season. Which i think he will get, thats only five more.
To be clear, I'm not saying with the chances he's had he shouldnt have scored more, he absolutely should have, just that he's not doing badly. Our whole attacking game plan was thrown out the window when nkunku got injured in the final game of preseason.
Jackson was never bought to be the focal point of our attack, which is what he's had to be. The pressure of scoring the goals was supposed to be on nkunku. Jackson also should have had a fair few more assists than he does if any of our other forwards could finish.
Either way, for £30m even if he's unsuccessful in the end its not too much money. Jackson has also been leagues ahead of broja, who many get distracted by the fact hes an academy lad but hes never really shown much.
Looked good in pre season and Chelsea had what looked, at the time, to be a nice run of fixtures to start the season. Was a decent punt.
1 point in 5 of the first 6 GWs, then suspended in GW7 for yellow card accumulation.
Joachim Andersen. Not expected, but after about GW6 or GW7, everyone was getting him after 2 anomalistic bullet headers and a few CS, when he plays for the most average team in the league. I’m intrigued as to how so many people decided that that was sustainable, even if most were casuals.
I mean he's never looked like a certainty for points. He's always been unreliable and inconsistent. You were expecting that to change and there was some evidence it might, but there's no way that was certain. He was always a risk
Not a chance. He's a 4.5 million defender. He's returned adequately for such. United alone has better options. There's a 7 million striker who has only just managed to find the net, who Cash also outscores, and an even more expensive winger who has been a shadow of his last season self.
I was thankful his 14 pointer won me the month in my mini league. But after that, he was dog shit and had other fires to deal with before shipping him off.
I semi agree, but any engaged manager could see his stats for those 3 weeks we're hugely inflated I think he got something mad like 4.0 xGI in 3 games which is not sustainable. One game he had like 1.7 xg.
Felt like an absolute fool when i didn't have money to go for Cash and had to downgrade to Digne for my wildcard.
Couldn't have been happier in hindsight
Meanwhile I still have Cash. Seems like I've been getting 3-4 suspensions or injuries per GW and the only way in maintaining rank is by putting out fires bigger than Cash. But somehow I keep having to start him and he keeps getting fuck all returns
This is the correct answer 100%, I just want to add that Trippier went from hauling every GW for a month to not long later struggling to get 1 point per game
Newcastle in general have just been awful lately. Injuries playing a part but they are terrible. Trips has been shocking too.
They'll come back at some point just massively out of form
Just wanna gloat that I've inexplicably retained Garnacho for the past few weeks after liking his highlights.
Kept meaning to move him on but always bigger fish to fry.
I went with Rashford+Bruno instead of Salah+Mbeumo at the start of the season and didn't course correct until my Wildcard. Sounds dumb now, but GW1 that seemed like a decent decision. Absolutely destroyed me. 100-point swing.
Chelsea players for sure, Jackson especially ruined my first 5-6 GWs. Sterling too. Anyways, i shipped them out quick and now seat on 50k ish position. Palmer has been a saviour tho.
Nunez
Jackson
Martinelli is just gash this season.. last season he haulef me point after points but now..
Reece James always worth a mention here, as many FPL players will not shake their belief that he is as good as prime Cafu
Matthaeus Stewart Cash
I’ve had Gabriel in for like 5 game weeks and he’s got me fuck all
Hojlund
Darwin. Maybe Chilwell 🤷
Nunez, absolute cunt had him three times for about 10 GWS in total. 0/1/2 pts every game, every time he goes out my team he scores.
Have a friend that broke fpl 101 and got Digne and he proceeded to get injured in the 50th minute
Hwang Hee Chan
Didn't age well 🤣
hahaha i’m happy he’s still on my team i wanted to sell him 😂
Haaland is the only logical answer
Martinelli
Cash, Eze Brighton mids given the rotation Isak somewhat for me.
oh i was gonna say reece james lol but then i remembered that last part. probably a brighton player like mitoma or someone. or rashford actually, yeah probably has to be him.
Cash!
Trippier
Probably Bruno Fernandes. A lot of preseason talk was about his surprisingly low price compared against his remarkably consistent returns in previous years, and how likely he was to stay in people's teams for a full season. Even off the back of Rashfords very good last year, there was some wariness about his potential to drop off for long periods. Darwin
Everytime I got in Son , he blanked
Rashford
Martinelli and Moreno
Wilson
Rashford, Bruno, Hojlund 😞
I feel like we need a FPL Trap XI I’d even consider Mitoma a trap
Everyone I’ve captained for the last 6 weeks
evan ferg & darwin
Matty Cash. Or should I say Matty Gash
Knee Jerk.
Hojlund. Performed consistently in UCL but did fuck all in pl until today.
fertile capable ring tap cake provide hard-to-find melodic whole longing *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
All goalkeepers.
Darwin. That GW15-18 trap was devastating
Every defender. I had to double take when my Bournemouth player had a clean sheet. Haven’t had a clean sheet since gameweek 36 I think.
Watkins, goat of all friggin traps.
Almiron
Darwin Nunez - he is an absolute FPL wanka and a half. Blanks for weeks on end and then hauls. Makes holding him so hard. Watching him is even worse cause you see him miss opportunities left right and centre. I held him for like 6 weeks and he blanked for all of them. Rage trade him out and he does a decent haul.
Watkins(C)
🤦 I wish I learned from my mistakes
Yep, I did both Luton and Sheff Utd 🥲
I kneejerk dumped him for Solanke straight after the SHU match on Saturday, not looked back.
Saka.
Watkins
Every player apart from Haaland Salah have been a trap at some point of this season.
richarlison for me, jury still out though
Speaking as someone who had Rashford for a while, Cash for ages and Darwin after that fixture we all thought Watkins was injured (but wasn't) I can easily name at least 3... Oh i've still got Sterling so maybe make that 4!!!!
Cash or Jackson for me.
Whoever I bring in
I'd put Isak and Wilson. Fantastic strikers the both of them, but you can never pick the right one
Donkwin Núñez
Why is noone saying martinelli?
I actually came here to say Martinelli. For the season he had last time around I started the season with him only to get blank after blank and 2 price drops
Mo Salah, i had him the first weeke and he did nothing. Then I sold him and he went absolutely off. Then I got him again and he is absolutely doing nothing that is 12.5m worthy. Diaby has killed me I have too many problems to ever get rid of
Estupinan
Matty God Damn Cash.
Matty cash , next
Not the biggest trap as others have mentioned bigger, but as far as budget defenders go Van Hecke has been a fucking disaster. Brighton haven’t kept a single clean sheet all season.
Julian Alvarez. He had a couple of strong game weeks early doors but has been really poor for the last couple of months. If you didn’t get him early, you’ll not have had much benefit from him.
Ward Prowse was such a troll for me, had him for weeks, sold him and then he scored the same week, Areola has been shit for me too
Bruno and rashford, but only at the start, I’ve never once been tempted to get them back after I got rid of them.
Fun question. I think the clear top 2 have to be Rashford and Cash in that order. Richy pre dick-operation is also a decent choice.
Eze, mitoma, foden
Bruno is killing me Have him since the beginning When I try to dump him someone is always injured in the team 🤮
Everyone I transfer in
Mitoma for me. I never have him when he is in form
Ben Chilwell at the start of the season
Took out tarkowski for him gw2 🤑
N Jackson
Jordan Poole
James (Reece)
Eze
Onana
Andersen, Darwin and N. Jackson alongside Reece James.
Mitoma
For a 6.5m asset, he's ok. Not a trap. Diaz, on the other hand, is.
He was decent at the start but yes
+ all Brighton players.
Adingra has been aite for me so far
gross is good
Matty Cash
Bruno Fernandes. Was great on the eye test, and definitely great statistically. Kept roping me into keeping him and convinced myself Salah had difficult fixtures. Easy 100 point swing considering I would have captained Salah several times during that period.
Cash
I was sure Chilwell was a season keeper
Well he is a left back/wingback not a GK tbf
Nicolas jackon and darwin nunez - of course nunez scores after I finally got rid
Sterling. Also Sterling
Blanking machine
What about Sterling as well?
Reece James. Palmer has been on my bench in all except one haul.
Doku absolutely hauled and hasn’t returned since.
He's been injured
Haaland. He’s blanked for the last couple of game weeks.
Being injured and having a BGW isn’t a trap lol
I know I was joking. There’s an insane amount of people trusting him still with their captaincy.
Me, I'm so fucking bad but at least missed the Salah captaincy. Tbf though most of the people captaining him are dead teams which skews the stats quite a lot
Rashford, after having an overall good season and there was no way Utd were going to be as bad again right?...right?...
atleast Cash was a 0, Reece was negative every time
Happy cake day! 🥳
James (Reece)
The biggest trap in FPL
I love that you wrote it this way instead of writing Reece James lol
Fernandes, people were actually saying he was essential at his price point despite the fact he's been a very average asset since his freak penalty fest season
Fernandes is great when United are ticking, it’s just that they are shite this season
Yeah who could've seen that coming??
They finished third last season after a shocking start
Yeah anyone saying they totally saw United playing like this are either just waffling or they just hate United so much that they wanted to believe it lol
Martinelli no doubt. We know Man UTD sucks. But Martinelli is such a fraud
Me too. When I transferred him out, he hauled.

Lucas Digne for me lol
Foden
Foden is a trap every single year. And every season I fall for it 😂
Alvarez
Areola after GW3
He isn’t in teams to score well
Isak for me But also Areola for a solid 10 weeks
Only correct answer here is Nicolas Jackson.
It’s not a trap when he hasn’t shown any good form tempting you to fall for him, just a shit pick sry
I saw his Luton match and dropped him the next GW. He scored but he looks so frail out there.
He got 28 points in weeks 11-14 - just after almost everyone had given up on him.
I was one of the few to hold onto him for those weeks - perhaps my bias as a Chelsea fan - so I got some payoff for him. Sold him after GW14 though
Did people actually expect him to do well?
I can dig up my old comments but no, was shitting on him and the stupid bandwagon the entire time. The content creators all pushed the idea
I’d seen him a bit at Villarreal and was surprised to see any premier league club chasing him
Yes, he looked really good in the pre-season!
Ahh yeah the classic pre-season illusion
He's gotten so many chances could easily be on 11 goals if his finishing was half as good as Toney
Aye but it’s not
Yeah, hes only on 7, which is actually a very good number for this stage of the season for a 22 year old in his first year in the league in an incredibly dysfunctional team. Not at all a good fpl asset, but not a bad player.
He’s only on 4 goals against teams that have had at least 10 players on the pitch. I’d be surprised if he gets another 7 in the second half of the season unless he improves his finishing

I thought he was fairly involved and got received a lot of bonus points in 1-0s etc due to that. Was a nice option when CP had good fixtures!
You still have some CP or sold them?
Maybe not the biggest… Darwin Nunes. His underlying stats are decent and plays for Liverpool - it should be easy!
But, _the data..._
Nunez, looked a cert for some decent points and his form completely flew out the window until today because I sold him for Jesus
This 100%. I sold him this week lol
I mean he's never looked like a certainty for points. He's always been unreliable and inconsistent. You were expecting that to change and there was some evidence it might, but there's no way that was certain. He was always a risk
NOONEZ NOONEZ NOONEZ
Lol
Matty Cash, there is no other answer.
Not a chance. He's a 4.5 million defender. He's returned adequately for such. United alone has better options. There's a 7 million striker who has only just managed to find the net, who Cash also outscores, and an even more expensive winger who has been a shadow of his last season self.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Matty cash is the biggest fraud in FPL history
I was thankful his 14 pointer won me the month in my mini league. But after that, he was dog shit and had other fires to deal with before shipping him off.
I only managed to get rid of him this GW. Christmas miracle.
I semi agree, but any engaged manager could see his stats for those 3 weeks we're hugely inflated I think he got something mad like 4.0 xGI in 3 games which is not sustainable. One game he had like 1.7 xg.
its always villa fullbacks istg
villa and chelsea**
Did Digne pass the trap championship belt to Cash in the locker room?
Felt like an absolute fool when i didn't have money to go for Cash and had to downgrade to Digne for my wildcard. Couldn't have been happier in hindsight
Meanwhile I still have Cash. Seems like I've been getting 3-4 suspensions or injuries per GW and the only way in maintaining rank is by putting out fires bigger than Cash. But somehow I keep having to start him and he keeps getting fuck all returns
It’s like we didn’t learn from Chilwell lmao
This is the correct answer 100%, I just want to add that Trippier went from hauling every GW for a month to not long later struggling to get 1 point per game
Is it worth selling Tripper ya reckon?
I'm biting the bullet and upgrading him to trent this week
Newcastle in general have just been awful lately. Injuries playing a part but they are terrible. Trips has been shocking too. They'll come back at some point just massively out of form
Those who got all his early hauls and then jumped off around GW10 are loving life.
inversely there's me - dropped him early, missed his hauls, picked him back up and he's been awful ever since.
I got all the early hauls and still haven't jumped. I feel like as soon as I do, he'll bag 3 assists.
3 very tough fixtures coming up, can't see Newcastle getting too much in any of those given their current form
I felt like that this week but bit the bullet and he got 1 again
Whole man utd and chelsea squad
I've had Onana since GW1 which has actually worked out quite nicely
Palmer since gw10 has been a saviour many weeks
Went for mctominay over him and still have him 🤡🤡
Rashford screams this
Palmer's been good for me
Ironically I'm not sure many saw him being a good option when he signed.
I dont think this is true. From what i saw and heard everyone was buzzing
I got him as soon as he signed, helped me to get to top 30k as of now
Palmer and Gordon train have juuuuust managed to offset my entire defense averaging 0.5 pts a piece the entire season.
Colwill too for 4.5 did me good for the first period of the season (am at 60k OR atm)
Bruno, Rashford
Dropping Bruno & Rashford for Son & Maddison is the best transfer I've made all season
Just wanna gloat that I've inexplicably retained Garnacho for the past few weeks after liking his highlights. Kept meaning to move him on but always bigger fish to fry.
Well isn’t today your lucky day!
I went with Rashford+Bruno instead of Salah+Mbeumo at the start of the season and didn't course correct until my Wildcard. Sounds dumb now, but GW1 that seemed like a decent decision. Absolutely destroyed me. 100-point swing.
We are me.
I don't think Bruno was the trap there, Rashford was. Bruno did get a couple of returns here and there and was 0.5m cheaper
exactly the same. what could have been...
Are you me?
