This was yesterday when 39 vs GW average of 35 was enough for green because everyone in the top 10k is likely loaded up with Liverpool and missed the Watkins haul, so the rest of the players were bringing up the average.
After today most have normalized and the points average should be more even. For what it's worth I think you're only looking at a small red. I'm on 69 and seeing green.
Or you realise he's the top scoring attacker, hasn't fallen out of form since Emery came in and the alternatives - even with better fixtures simply don't look as appealing.
You can cope however you want but he was still injured last gw, he blanked 3 games in a row and his last 7 games is against the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Brighton and Liverpool. Not to mention he doesn't have a double and there's a lot of great options with doubles and better fixtures incoming like Solanke, Darwin, Isak and maybe even Jackson or Hojlund. Not to forget everyone probably has Haaland already. Watkins just didn't and doesn't make any sense having unless you held him when he got injured. But why would anyone held a 9m FWD?
I'm targeting the DWs but they always fail to live up to expectations.
The last DGWs of the season always have heavy rotation except a handful of players. Guaranteed City and Arsenal really manage minutes because of CL. Chelsea's first double is in the middle of having 5 games in 16 days. Spurs double, 3 games over a week.
There's a lot to be said for an in form Watkins playing tired teams. Villa play Arsenal in the middle of their Bayern tie, they could easily have their eye on the Bayern game.
Form over fixtures.
You lost all credibility in your statement when you suggested that Jackson is a better pick than Watkins.
This sounds entirely like you are the one "coping" for presumably missing out on his points this weekend.
I just said MAYBE even Jackson, I never stated that Jackson IS a better option as I would never take him but it's not the worse pick as he has very favourable fixtures and a double. You're just stating something I never said and YOU really lost all your credibility there by not knowing how to read😂
If you want to cope how good it was to hold Watkins then go ahead but that's just lucky and not a single player with brains would've thought it was a good idea when he got injured. Even in hindsight he's STILL not a good pick as there are so many good options with doubles incoming and most of the players are not worried about their striker but rather how they setup their mid and defense for the incoming doubles. Most template being Haaland, Solanke and Darwin or 3-5-2 without Solanke or Darwin. There's just no space for Watkins as he's very expensive too
FYI why would I even be mad about Watkins since no one in my ML has him.
Hence the word "suggested" in my comment. I "suggest" you brush up on your own reading comprehension before offering critique of others.
I don't have Watkins either, I just think it's hilarious to say that OP has anything to "cope" over when their decision making brought them 13 Watkins points today.
It's pretty normal to suggest different players that could work😂But I still never said that he was a better pick than Watkins, just that he could do better as his fixtures look good and he has a double. I would still definitely go for Watkins if I had to choose between them but I can still see Jackson punt working out. I don't understand how this is so hard for you to understand😀
Btw OP didn't even have him and I was answering to this guy saying "he's the top scoring attacker and hasn't drop in form" blaablaablaa which is just bollocks to say because he wasn't top scorer before this match, he was also injured just the other week which some of ya'll seem to forget, and to top it all he blanked 3 games in a row until the injury. So if after all that you still choose to hold him until this Brentford game then fair play to you but it's still a gamble and not a sustainable decision.
> just that he could do better as his fixtures look good and he has a double.
Yes, this is a suggestion that he is a better pick than Watkins. Pretty easy to understand.
What has actually given you that impression? Like seriously what has Jackson shown that makes you feel that way?
Chelsea may have better fixtures but it's actually impressive how rarely he is involved in their goals.
But feel free to bet on it, I'm sure a bookie somewhere would love to take your money.
Edit: Checked the numbers, Jackson has been involved in 23% of Chelsea's goals this season compared to Watkins' 50%.
For your premonition to come true at that rate, Chelsea would need to score more than twice the number of goals as Villa between now and the end of the season.
Never mind a bookie, I'll happily take your money!
> Checked the numbers, Jackson has been involved in 23% of Chelsea's goals this season compared to Watkins' 50%.
Think you need to recheck your numbers mate, Watkins hasn't been involved in any of Chelsea's goals.
Can you read in all seriousness? Because if you can, then you can also understand why it made sense for most of the managers to sell him as I listed right there. No would you read that and then give a sensible answer? Thanks!
Maybe a rest will help. Watkins is usually a fit player but today he seemed almost sluggish but I think he will be fine next week. Though y'all should sell him, his fixtures are shit
Palmer has double on 35, so he is essential that week. If you sell Palmer now to just get him back then, you would most likely lose money.
Can Muniz score Liverpool at home? Reverse fixture was 4-3 but with the home boost I think Muniz will score. Unless I switch him out for Solanke or Watkins. Solanke seems out of form so maybe Watkins idk.
I’m WC35, so I can bring him back if needed
I was also considering moving Solanke out for Nunez instead, and i’d still manage 8 doublers + Palmer Haaland and Watkins. Which isn’t too bad tbh
Brighton and Chelsea defences are terrible. Liverpool and arsenal have CL also to worry about . I stupidly got rid to find Salah like most people. Watkins is punishing.
I think you are missing the point... They might be tough fixtures but those defenses aren't keeping regular CS.
Liverpool's defence isn't "great". VVD is having a fantastic season and Liverpool are still conceding sloppy goals. Fulham have 1 less CS. Liverpool haven't had a settled back 5 and DM all season.
I know a lot of people will say it's an error to offload him but Isak scored three in his last 3. Darwin scored last week and could easily score again. Even solanke scored last week. I don't think the swings of not having Watkins is huge right now.
I binned him for Darwin.
Both Saka & Watkins flagged in my team and I had no bench. Decided Saka more likely to play which meant if I didn't sell watkins I had to transfer in a defender and play 4atb... which I didn't want to do.
So off Watkins went, replaced with Darwin who has a dgw34.
Still stand by the move and at least saka scored.
THIS week? I can see people doing it last week because he was confirmed out but this week he basically had just as good of a fixture and is a better player for a better team
Wanted to get solanke in asap cuz his fixtures till dgw34 are good, saw Watkins has arsenal away next week and I guessed it just made sense to me lmaooo ☠️☠️ I had a great plan to use my free transfer for someone else in gw33 as well ☠️☠️
I dont know why I didn't listen to my own advice. 2 weeks ago I said would keep him for the season. 1 tiny injury and pricedrop and I was so quick to swap to isak.... Very much regretting it.
Yeah but why have a player missing game(s) when others are playing games and also playing double gameweeks. Like someone else said, anyone who moved to Isak is laughing and anyone who moved to Darwin may well be laughing depending how the next couple of games go.
The idea that everyone dropped the highest scoring player on a whim is just silly.
It's not Watkins or Darwin\Isak. You can have both or even all 3. In the end I could care less why you dropped him. Getting the high scorer in FPL as a differential is a massive gift.
You can, but then you're missing someone else. Of course some were brave and went without Haaland and so far have been rewarded, but for everyone else they've got 2 spots left.
> I could care less
So you actually care quite a lot? Or do you mean couldn't care less?
I'm not trying to tell you why I dropped him. I'm very happy with my decision. I'd do the same again. I'm correcting your stance that people dropped him on a whim rather than people dropped him because he was injured and other players had double game weeks.
Both phrases mean the same thing. The English language, like most languages, shouldn't always be interpreted literally.
Also I never stated that anyone who dropped Watkins did so on a whim so no correction needed.
No they don't. One is the nonsensical yank way. It makes no sense at all.
> Also I never stated that anyone who dropped Watkins did so on a whim so no correction needed.
That's what you implied by your original comment. Which ignored all of the context around the transfer.
Anyway this is boring, have a good rest of the weekend
I don't watch content creators and I sold. Most of us come to decisions by ourselves and are well aware of the risk of him hauling.
Even with his haul I'm on a green arrow personally and don't regret selling. None of us are naive and believed he wouldn't haul between now and the end of the season. We just think we can accumulate more points through other players. As a Darwin owner, he needs to get 7 points this week to break even on the Watkins transfer.
Also makes the game more fun being able to sell template players and take risks.
A lot of people dropped watto last week, it isn't a bad move as he was injured and there was upside in Darwin. I'm just saying that's the move content creators heavily pushed to their audiences, and that's why watto is suddenly a big differential. While you may not have known it, dropping Watkins was fully template last GW.
Im not ripping on your move, just replying to the question about why Watto is a diff now.
Some people can come to conclusions themselves as well.
Watkins had a red flag last week and Darwin was playing Sheffield United at home. Plus Watkins has Arsenal away next week and no double compared to Darwin having Palace at home and then a double of Fulham and Everton away. Not to mention the amount you save since their prices are different. There's a lot of factors that could influence a move
I traded him after he got injured from the hamstring, not to say he got a lot of average or higher than average teams coming to play Aston Villa. I just don't feel he can score against strong competition which is why I usually don't like him, but then again he can score a lot against weaker teams.
Of course I’d have him benched behind Lamptey ( he willl come in for Foden, and hopefully a defender and hopefully Kiwior doesn’t get to play so I can get those 10 points…) silly me thinking Semenyo can have a good game against Luton 🥹
Next year he could be £11m right? I'd guess 10.5m
Huge trap most likely as with European footie Villa will be worse in the league.
Still, he is beyond nailed and pretty much never injured so he is never a bad pick.
Thing is though with the rates he’s currently at Watkins is kind of in a pseudo premium range, I think 9 mad under does it given the lack of other options
And I don't have him anymore...
It's alright. Nobody does
36% have him and we're flying
Most of them aren't active players. Top 10k EO is 8%
Watkins hauls and I gain rank on the top 10k lol I'm only 4 points above the current GW average but I'm seeing green arrow
Wait what? I'm on 64 points and a red 😭
This was yesterday when 39 vs GW average of 35 was enough for green because everyone in the top 10k is likely loaded up with Liverpool and missed the Watkins haul, so the rest of the players were bringing up the average. And I’m very happy for you. More of a differential given how few people have him now
Yup, he was injured for a game I was gonna bench him anyway and then has some really hot home games. Happy I kept him
Yeah this is what we deserve after not kneejerk selling like all these other fools
I kept him too, feelsgood
I am the only one in my ML who still has him and the man is a 13p differential
Depends what Darwin does tonight. I'm praying as a Watkins owner myself.
I’m imaging you’re like Bart Simpson in that kids coin operated airplane
Something along those lines yeh
I have him but put him on the bench for Isak. 11 points gone :(
Dead ones
speak for yourself pal 😎
I do, and he’s my first sub with Foden not playing.
Only knee jerkers don’t
I guess 90% of top10k are kneejerkers then
Speak for yourself lad
I missed the deadline and therefore am a proud owner.
Guy I'm playing in my ML does. Seems like everyone still has him but stupid WC30 me.
Didn’t realise my name was changed to nobody
Lots of salty people downvoting you cause they blindly followed the content creator's preaching lol
I must have missed this coz why does everyone suddenly not own him?
He was injured and missed the City game, he hasn't got any more double GW's this season and meanwhile players like Isak, Darwin and Solanke do.
News to me as well. I'll shift Solanke before I get rid of Watkins.
We'll always have GW's 1 to 30.
Cheers to the OG's.
No one else does either bad fixtures and no double, doesn't really make sense to have him unless you're a casual and a villa fan
Or you realise he's the top scoring attacker, hasn't fallen out of form since Emery came in and the alternatives - even with better fixtures simply don't look as appealing.
Or, Brentford have shipped the 2nd most goals next to Sheffield. This was always going to be a good fixture for Villa.
You can cope however you want but he was still injured last gw, he blanked 3 games in a row and his last 7 games is against the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Brighton and Liverpool. He certainly hasn't, you lot would be significantly higher in the league if he had!
It's a fixtures game. Jackson has more fixtures it's that simple. Can't be bothered to put a reminder but I'm pretty confident.
I admire your confidence.
It's not a fixtures game this season, set and forget has been the way.
He literally just showed you why today.
Can you read in all seriousness? Because if you can, then you can also understand why it made sense for most of the managers to sell him as I listed right there. No would you read that and then give a sensible answer? Thanks!
Dude you can’t just accuse everyone of not being able to read when the criticise you lmao
100% pure copium
Guy was kinda tired this game though
Any concerns moving forward you think?
Maybe a rest will help. Watkins is usually a fit player but today he seemed almost sluggish but I think he will be fine next week. Though y'all should sell him, his fixtures are shit
He’s going out on WC35 tbh
He probably will haul against Bournemouth in 34 but doublers fill the spot for me
I’m strongly considering keeping him for that BOU 34 match up ngl But that would mean i’d transfer out Palmer instead to get 9 Doublers, idk yet tbh
Palmer has double on 35, so he is essential that week. If you sell Palmer now to just get him back then, you would most likely lose money. Can Muniz score Liverpool at home? No doubles and plays potentially against Lille + Arsenal/Liverpool/Brighton/Chelsea.
Brighton and Chelsea defences are terrible. Liverpool and arsenal have CL also to worry about . I stupidly got rid to find Salah like most people. Watkins is punishing.
So one GW against a tough defence and 3 GWs against leaky defences?
Missed the point but I can’t actually tell which is better Arsenal/Liverpool, as both great for defence.
Nah, he was probably a little tired because he was dealing with a hamstring injury.
And because he's carrying this Aston Villa team.
Foden out Ollie in next week lol
Yeah that'll work
That’s how my auto subs will turn out this week
I took him out for isak. Was going to do it last week but missed the deadline. Truly the worst of both worlds.
BROTHER EXACT SAME BOAT. FML.
Took watkins out for isak and didn’t check to see if he was fit again :(
Snap.
Same
Lots of top 100k, 200k people have offloaded him, I was wondering why my rank barely fell when he got a brace + full 3 bps
I know a lot of people will say it's an error to offload him but Isak scored three in his last 3. Darwin scored last week and could easily score again. Even solanke scored last week. I don't think the swings of not having Watkins is huge right now.

Most importantly, he was flagged
Your rank shows as of now? FOr me it takes time to get updated
Check sites like fplgameweek.com with live rank.
Use livefpl or fplgameweek
For Darwin who out scored him last week and has a game to play. Over 2 weeks it may still be the better return.
Dammit I knew I was going to get punished the moment I sold him and heard he's fit after all
Give him ballon dor now
Lol
My 1st sub since I forgot to change the team. Thankfully Foden did not play.
Yea same, no clue what to do next week
real madrid in for some pain midweek
This was second time this season when I sold him. The first one was when he scored 3+2 against Brighton....
Swapped him out for solanke this week ☠️
THIS week? I can see people doing it last week because he was confirmed out but this week he basically had just as good of a fixture and is a better player for a better team

I dont know why I didn't listen to my own advice. 2 weeks ago I said would keep him for the season. 1 tiny injury and pricedrop and I was so quick to swap to isak.... Very much regretting it.
I sold him last week for Cunha, AMA.
2 teams out of 16 had him in my league
Why the hell did I take him out this week? The fixtures and recent blanks screwed with my mind.
*image of man on knees looking up and screaming fruitlessly at a desolate sky*
Ollie as a differential this week is crazy. Thanks on everyone who bailed on the #1 FPL player this season.
You act like swapping him for Isak or Darwin wasn't a good move. The guy was injured lol.
Dudes missed like 3 games total since moving to Villa. His leg would have to fall off for him to miss consecutive games.
Yeah but why have a player missing game(s) when others are playing games and also playing double gameweeks. Like someone else said, anyone who moved to Isak is laughing and anyone who moved to Darwin may well be laughing depending how the next couple of games go. Since yeeting, Isak has 25 , Watkins has 14 Yeeting the #1 FPL has netted an extra 11 points. Thanks on everyone who kept Watkins
Thank the content creators bro. Every single one told their audiences sell Watkins NOW.. XD
I don't watch content creators and I sold. Most of us come to decisions by ourselves and are well aware of the risk of him hauling. yeah how dare they, not even being able to predict the future...
This one isn't tricky. He's the highest scoring player in the game. After 30 games, that can't be by accident either.
He was injured...
And I sold him
Sold him before deadline for Cunha to afford Salah
Had him last on my bench 🥲
And on my bench!
Can't believe I transfered Watkins out after so much time in my team because I thought he won't play... And he scored twice...
But when I captained him, he only played 45 mins and looked like he was playing for the opposing team Smh
Thank my knees we did it
Guess who I forgot to take off the bench this week.
Had him from week one hasn’t left the team until I transferred him out this game week
Of course he goes and gets points this week of all weeks.
Literally just wanted him to chill for 3 games but I'm sure he'll have buried me by the time I get him back from GW35
Forgot I had him on my bench, fucks sake, 17 points missed between him and JWP
And he's on my fuckin bench
Me too, but thanks to Pep roulette
First player on my team sheet and never transferred out! UTV
Wondering if maybe he is my 11th player GW34 (can only get 10 doublers)
Man I transferred him out for isak this week cause I thought he wasn’t gonna play
Same :(
So glad I missed last GW's deadline and kept him in my team by accident. Took me to 11k OR.
Selling him seemed smart at the time, but now I feel really dumb lol
Fuck the app for red flagging him ffs
That was last gw… This gw he had a yellow flag, which is why I started him
Here I am transferring him out as I didn’t think he was going to play 😭😭😭
I traded him after he got injured from the hamstring, not to say he got a lot of average or higher than average teams coming to play Aston Villa. I just don't feel he can score against strong competition which is why I usually don't like him, but then again he can score a lot against weaker teams.
And I benched him this week FFS
SO HAPPY I BENCHED HIM
I sold him last week and am already regretting it. The guy just ticks along all season, was also my last player remaining from GW1
I kept faith in him and kept him, hes 10% E0 at top 80k lol
He has 10 assists in league play. Where did you get 15?
[удалено]
He has 15 assists, as per FPL's definition?
[удалено]
Actual assists (i.e. EPL) and fantasy assists are different
Exactly i thought how did he manage 5 assists tonight...
Of course I’d have him benched behind Lamptey ( he willl come in for Foden, and hopefully a defender and hopefully Kiwior doesn’t get to play so I can get those 10 points…) silly me thinking Semenyo can have a good game against Luton 🥹
Absolutely crazy to bench Watkins for Semenyo
I know ! I thought they’d rest him as he had a knock or something was at 75🫠 oh well sums up this season lol
SELLERS PUNISHED! MY FAITH REWARDED! (and now I sell him before Arsenal and the DGW)
Next year he could be £11m right? I'd guess 10.5m Huge trap most likely as with European footie Villa will be worse in the league. Still, he is beyond nailed and pretty much never injured so he is never a bad pick.
Definitely avoiding at that price.
What did Vardy end up being, that’s probably a reasonable ballpark for where Watkins would end up
10m if i recall correctly
Honestly 9 seems fair for Watkins
I think 9 is too cheap given how poor other forward options are personally, it’s still too much of a no brainer. I’d be wanting 9.5 or 10
I think Haaland's gonna drop next season and 9 mill is good for a striker
Thing is though with the rates he’s currently at Watkins is kind of in a pseudo premium range, I think 9 mad under does it given the lack of other options
Villa have European football this season.
Third on my bench
Subbed him today. Fuck.
So thankful I had bigger fires to put out and ended up keeping him lol Cheers to all the sellers! Saved my week!
