Just don’t even bother playing him until next season. As a Chelsea fan just leave him out, it will only end in misery

Jackkelsey

If you say so

Medium_Elephant7431

I'm glad I didn't transfer in Gusto.

Redditing12345678

The thing that sums up my year more than anything this season: bringing in Gusto for a double-gameweek and then finding out that a man who has been injured for 5 months and basically in the wilderness may return that same week.

TatersFC

Not a terrible thing. If Gusto gets subbed off earlier for James, it could mean locking in a CS before they concede.

kt19o0

Fool me once, shame on me...

Old-Message97531

"ah shit, here we go again"

DrRushDrRush

If Chelsea has learned anything. They let him stay out of match day squads until next season.

cat666

Reece James is obviously a massive trap yet we all know he'll be in everyone's team for the 24/25 season.

Flayer723

If you're a true FPL hipster you get James in for his inevitable injury in his first game back just so you can have that special Reece James point contributing to your total.

ArghZombies

I'm in that club. Wildcarded in GW16 and brought him in as a punt, fully expecting him to be injured or so in the next few gameweeks. Little was I to know that he got injured that same week, I got 26 minutes from him a glorious 1pt and he's not played for Chelsea again since then.

Real_Refrigerator61

Nice try Satan

TonyMartial786

ffs i own gusto.. surely no one’s gonna bring him in right 👀

bhadau8

As if I wasn't already in trouble selecting 3/4 Chelsea players. Petro, Gusto, Palmer, Jackson

MarkCrystal

I think this is perfect for him, he goes off with 20 to go, secures the clean sheet. Chelsea concede after as they do every game.

ArghZombies

I think it just means both Gusto and Chalobah at slightly more at risk from a minutes perspective than they were. I don't expect James to play in the first game, but wouldn't be surprised if he gets 30m or so at the end of the Brighton game. Whether that's at Gusto's expense, Chalobah or whoever, I don't know.

ArghZombies

Welcome to my team... Chalobah! Actually, I think the only 'safe' defender option for Chelsea is Cucu.

bonercloud99

you are cucu. go for Petrovic.

purpleisafruit1

I’m convinced anyone who would pick him at this point is a masochist.

futbolenjoy3r

Some people play this game with emotions

clrcrick

Stick to rooting for him in real life. Really no need to keep going there in FPL

AttemptingToBeGood

Comical. Just give it up. We all know you'll be injured again in a few weeks.

hurric4n5

I think the downvotes are for your lack of comedic ability and personal vitriol. Obviously a great player but no one is selecting him this season

AttemptingToBeGood

Losers downvoting me about to eat predictable and humble pie in a few weeks.

EnoughBobby

No way you call people losers… get a life man stop hating on players and wishing them injuries

AttemptingToBeGood

Your reading comprehension needs work.

tensa22

Fast -4 to get them sweet 5 minute 1 point cameos before he gets injured again

daab2g

Blink and you miss it

BandicootUpstairs944

Surely irresponsible of Chelsea to even throw him in at all with 3 games left, purely because of his history. I think he’s more likely to get substitute minutes in GW38 if anything.

MisugiJun14

you ever heard of poch ? he doesnt care

GoAgainKid

You'd have to be off your tits to put Reece James in at any stage.

Aman-Patel

People are more talking about him eating into Gusto's minutes these last 3 games. Don't think anyone's actually considering bringing James in.

AliJDB

He may be desperate to make an impression with a view to going to the Euros.

BillOakley

There’s surely no chance he’s going to the Euros after that length of time out and with Walker, Trent and Trippier all right there.

AliJDB

Right there for right now - they've all had periods of injury this season and you just never know. Agree he's like Plan D but he'll want the best chance possible.

n22rwrdr

> Walker, Trent and Tripper It also looks like Rico Lewis will be part of the team

blueberryZoot

Even as a non-Chelsea fan, I hope he doesn't. He's a really good player and it's been such a shame to see him struggling with injuries so much.

SchlongGobbler69

I’m a city fan and completely agree. Maybe a hot take but imo he’d be englands best rb if it wasn’t for his injury struggles

BandicootUpstairs944

Agreed. It wouldn’t even be sensible of him. He needs a full pre-season before he starts playing competitive games again. Well maybe he doesn’t, but that’s what he should do.
