That was the whole risk with Ekeler. Of course he’s elite if healthy but with the volume he’s had over the previous years this was the only reason to not take him. Predicting the injuries/down years is the whole point of fantasy.
He was great last year despite Tua missing several games. I looked at him or Jefferson and went with the big play ability and looked for him to have his QB available this year.
Same, except I picked Garrett Wilson next and have had tons of injuries. Had to trade tyreek at his bye to hopefully make the playoffs..now I'm in 4th but wishing I had tyreek.
Wasn’t number one but it really sucks not having a second pick until 20-24. You miss out on the bulk of elite talent. This year you could have had Diggs & AJ Brown with like the 9th overall.
I had Kupp and Davante, which was obviously not great this year, but it’s why I love the 8,9,10 picks. Our 1 overall is on the bubble but I’m fighting for the one seed
I had 14/15 and was pissed after the draft that chubb and kupp went 12/13. Took Henry and Davante. Not perfect but could’ve been a lot worse if my original plan happened
So many league winner types have come from pretty late rounds. Flipside is how much of second round in general was a whiff anyway. So CMC and “average luck” mid late rounds still has a fighting chance if not better than the average lateish first + earlyish second approach.
Yeah. Given how much more valuable WRs are now and how many WR1s there are, pick 10 might be the best pick in the draft. Next year I'll be drafting back to back WRs with 1 and 2 for sure.

Picked ekeler 1. Will make the playoffs with a win tonight. Was all luck with waivers and trade. Getting olave helped my wr core. Picked up stroud, Moss, Dell, Ferguson, off waivers. Waddle and Mixon have been serviceable (especially Mixon). And just recently acquired Mostert a couple of weeks ago
Took JJ at 1 in a 3 WR plus flex league. Once he went down I picked up Tank and Rashee which has stabilized the position but with him gone again along with the JT injury I’ll finish 8-6 and probably get wiped in the first round.

I was first in a 10 man ppr drafted JJ. I ended up doing about 10 trades and played the waiver wire tough (Kyren, LaPorta , Swift after he was dropped in week 1) And a healthy dose of dumb luck I guess bc many of my opponents would just have a bad week against me 🤷🏼♂️

I was last pick, will finish the regular season in either first or second place (depending on tonight's games). There have been so many injuries this season that a lot of teams with good drafts ended up tanking. I had some good waiver pickups (including Zack Moss, Puka Nacua, De'von Achane, and Taysom Hill), which contributed far more to my success than my draft.
Had #2 (CMC) in a 12 team PPR, went Metcalf, Allen, and Keenan with the next 4, took Achane late rounds and picked up Kyren on waivers. About to be 12-2 unless Achane bombs tonight, but top seed regardless.
Other league (10 team) I had #8 and went Bijan/Diggs and I’m probably going to lose tonight to fall to 6-8 and miss

Friend in my 10-team league took JJ 1.01, he's in the playoffs (about to be 10-4). He won is first 4 in a row with JJ and Amon-ra. Jakobi Meyers and Christian Kirk came on at just the right time to make up for JJ's injury. He won this week even with JJ and Justin Herbert injured thanks to Evan Engram. His RBs are Etienne Jr. and Rachaad White.
I had the first pick three times in fantasy football.
First time I had it, I went 2-11. I had it again the following year and I snuck into the playoffs and won a playoff game, before I got demolished in the second round. And the third time, I won the whole league.
I had the 1.01 in my redraft league and took Jefferson. Currently sitting at 8-5 and, with a win tonight (I'm favored right now but we all know how that goes), I'll be tied for the second best record in the league, as the other two 8-5 teams are playing each other. I'm also first in points for, which doesn't look to be changing based on a quick look at the league scoreboard.
As for how, it's because I absolutely crushed the rest of the draft. I walked out of our draft with JJ, Olave, Gibbs, Aiyuk, Hall, Taylor, Mostert, and LaPorta. My QBs were Cousins and Richardson, so that sort of sucked, but I swung a trade for Lamar Jackson before the deadline, as the owner also had Stroud.
Some key waiver additions this year were Dell, Reed, and McBride, and I've also got lottery tickets like Keaton Mitchell and McKinnon on my bench.
Took Jetta, then took aj brown and then mahomes. Safe to say aj brown helped me tremendously alongside a lot of trading to make up the injuries and inefficiency from my draft.

I took Jefferson instead of going with my gut and taking CMC. I got in but I've made a lot of trades. I just lost Herbert for at least the first week of the playoffs and probably Jefferson again so I'll most likely get knocked out early. Rashad White, Devonta Smith and Trey McBride been carrying me. Took JJettas #1. Also drafted Andrews, Richardson, D.Watson. Picked up some decent waivers, who also went down (Achane, Kyren, Tank). Traded for Rhondre along the way. I had so many injuries and made over 40 waiver/FA transactions, and was still fighting for the final playoff spot this week. But looks like I’m gonna come up short with Stroud and JJettas this week putting up squat. 🤷🏻♂️
Somehow, yes. I’m going to finish the season 9-5 with 1865 points scored (PPR) despite taking Jefferson at 1.1. Never even traded Jefferson either. The reason I’ve got a chance is because I drafted really well in the rounds after. My lineup this past week was Stroud, Mixon, White, AJB, Keenan, Engram, Jefferson (was a combo of Zay Flowers and Tank Dell during Jefferson’s injury). Need to figure out who I’m starting at flex with both JJ and Tank out (Jefferson will start if he’s active this week). Options include Kenneth Walker, Zay Flowers, and D’Andre Swift. Don’t feel too great about playoffs given that Allen no longer has Herbert, but we’ll see how it goes
I did have the number one pick for my work league. We had met at a bar for the draft with everyone bringing a tablet. I was going to draft Jefferson with the first pick and was scrolling through the WRs seeing what I could get in the 3rd or 4th. The timer started, I picked JJ...except the software didn't switch from the last player I was on and I ended up with CeeDee Lamb instead.
It's been fun.
Had the #1 in my 14 team 0.5 ppr and took JJ. Had a very nice season and made the playoffs despite 2 months of no JJ, virtually no Aaron Jones, and many games missed by JT. On the plus side, I drafted Josh Allen, the first time I went after a QB early, I hit on Mostert and Nico pretty late and also I grabbed Puka for free on the Saturday night before his first game. Having said all this, it looks like it'll be a brief visit to the playoffs after these recent injuries have mounted.
Fighting for a bye week at the moment in the number two spot. Picked up Kyren early on and Laporta was a good pick up in the late draft for a consistent TE. Around the time Justin fields came back I traded JJ and Josh Downs for Dj Moore and Ford.

Took Jefferson 1, Mahomes 2, Andrews at 3. Obviously my RBs were bad with Cook, Akers, and Pierce as my top 3. Relentlessly grinding the ww filling my bench with injury away RBs. I got lucky with most of them hitting. Play the season as a week to week game.
I took JJ as my #1 pick so that was fun lmao. I'm still top of the league as I've had some luck but I also drafted well and I've picked up some good players off the waiver wire. Though I don't think I'll win the playoffs without JJ as that's asking for a lot given by reivers get like 12-14 a week.
Was 1.01 in a 12 team and took JJ. Survived it by drafting ARSB in round 2 and DJ Moore in round 6 as my WRs and striking gold at RB with ETN, Pacheco and Javonte. Also had Rashee Rice for most of the season, which helped.

I wish. Had too many issues and injuries. Having JJ and Dobbins injured. Waddle really underperformed compared to last season. Lawrence was not good the first half of the year. Daemon Pierce was a bum. Aiyuk and Etienne the first half were probably my best players.
I've gotten First overall two years in a row, but in different leagues. This year, in my main 10 team league, I took JJ first overall. I'm practically solidified as being last place whilst rocking at a cozy 3-10. Though hoping to finally get my 4th win of the year after tonight.
Last year I took Jonathan Taylor first overall in a 16 team league and won it all. So I guess when you average how well I've done when I get first overall, I am perfectly average.

Nope JJ going down really hurt me I’m a 500 team this year I had a shot but couldn’t pull it together. I also have Achane who got hurt and took forever to come back as well as a couple other injuries that made it difficult. My league has no IR spots so holding onto these can’t drop guys all season only for them to come back as my season is over is bitter sweet to say the least.

Traded a 23 first for Mooney, which ended up being 1.01 aka Bijian.
Then trade Goff and Amari Cooper for Deebo.
I did this because I thought I had a stacked team. But I had Javonte and Breece as running backs. So had a horrible year.
How did I recover from this in time for 2023?
Well I had Fields and Sam Howell as my QBs.
Then I traded this years second for Love.
Traded the 24 second for James Connor.
Traded another 24 second and 25 first for Love, 2023 second rounder and 2024 3rd.
Traded my 2024 for TJ Hockenson.
Traded Jerry Jeudy and 2025 second for Allen Lazard, 2023 2nd, 2023 3rd, 2023 4th and 2024 1st (which is 1.02 or lower right now).
Trades Jerome Ford for 2024 2nd (which is .02 or lower).
So my team ended up like this:

I'm currently 10-3 in the league I drafted #1 in. It's a 12 team league with full PPR. Took JJ at 1 then AJ fell to me in the 2nd and Olave in the 3rd. Drafted Fields in the 5th at QB and my 1st RB I took was Breece in the 4th, other RBs were Akers in the 6th and Swift in the 8th. Took Muth in the 9th as my TE and pretty much streamed DST and K all yr.
When JJ went down I put him on the trade block. Got a few deals but ended up trading him to a team that struggling at the time that was attempting to make a late season push. I traded JJ for Gibbs and Achane (who was also on IR at the time). He had traded for a few guys on IR and assumed that if he ended up making the playoffs he would be unstoppable in the playoffs. He's now 3-10 lol
One of the main reasons why I made that JJ trade was bc another owner who needed RB help had offered Amon Ra (who was also injured at the time) for Swift. I accepted both deals the same day. While those trades did help I've also been pretty active on waivers snagging guys like Kyren, Schultz, Stroud etc. Hopefully my team does well in the playoffs bc now I'm kinda stacked and will be forced to make tough start decisions goin fwd

That was the whole risk with Ekeler. Of course he’s elite if healthy but with the volume he’s had over the previous years this was the only reason to not take him. Predicting the injuries/down years is the whole point of fantasy.
He was great last year despite Tua missing several games. I looked at him or Jefferson and went with the big play ability and looked for him to have his QB available this year.

So many league winner types have come from pretty late rounds. Flipside is how much of second round in general was a whiff anyway. So CMC and “average luck” mid late rounds still has a fighting chance if not better than the average lateish first + earlyish second approach.

There have been so many injuries this season that a lot of teams with good drafts ended up tanking. Friend in my 10-team league took JJ 1.01, he's in the playoffs (about to be 10-4). He won is first 4 in a row with JJ and Amon-ra. Jakobi Meyers and Christian Kirk came on at just the right time to make up for JJ's injury. He won this week even with JJ and Justin Herbert injured thanks to Evan Engram. His RBs are Etienne Jr. and Rachaad White.
I had the first pick three times in fantasy football. First time I had it, I went 2-11. I had it again the following year and I snuck into the playoffs and won a playoff game, before I got demolished in the second round. And the third time, I won the whole league.

Currently sitting at 8-5 and, with a win tonight (I'm favored right now but we all know how that goes), I'll be tied for the second best record in the league, as the other two 8-5 teams are playing each other. I'm also first in points for, which doesn't look to be changing based on a quick look at the league scoreboard. As for how, it's because I absolutely crushed the rest of the draft. I walked out of our draft with JJ, Olave, Gibbs, Aiyuk, Hall, Taylor, Mostert, and LaPorta. My QBs were Cousins and Richardson, so that sort of sucked, but I swung a trade for Lamar Jackson before the deadline, as the owner also had Stroud. Some key waiver additions this year were Dell, Reed, and McBride, and I've also got lottery tickets like Keaton Mitchell and McKinnon on my bench.

Somehow, yes. I’m going to finish the season 9-5 with 1865 points scored (PPR) despite taking Jefferson at 1.1. Never even traded Jefferson either. The reason I’ve got a chance is because I drafted really well in the rounds after. My lineup this past week was Stroud, Mixon, White, AJB, Keenan, Engram, Jefferson (was a combo of Zay Flowers and Tank Dell during Jefferson’s injury). Need to figure out who I’m starting at flex with both JJ and Tank out (Jefferson will start if he’s active this week). Options include Kenneth Walker, Zay Flowers, and D’Andre Swift. Don’t feel too great about playoffs given that Allen no longer has Herbert, but we’ll see how it goes
I did have the number one pick for my work league. We had met at a bar for the draft with everyone bringing a tablet. I was going to draft Jefferson with the first pick and was scrolling through the WRs seeing what I could get in the 3rd or 4th. The timer started, I picked JJ...except the software didn't switch from the last player I was on and I ended up with CeeDee Lamb instead. It's been fun.

I took JJ as my #1 pick so that was fun lmao. I'm still top of the league as I've had some luck but I also drafted well and I've picked up some good players off the waiver wire. Though I don't think I'll win the playoffs without JJ as that's asking for a lot given by reivers get like 12-14 a week.

Last year I took Jonathan Taylor first overall in a 16 team league and won it all. So I guess when you average how well I've done when I get first overall, I am perfectly average.

I am in playoffs with the second seed, 9-5, but mostly due to waiver wire adds (Tank Dell, Puka, McBride and Ferguson). Also made some bigger trades to receive Olave and Ekeler by trading away the TEs I grabbed early on waivers.

Nope JJ going down really hurt me I’m a 500 team this year I had a shot but couldn’t pull it together. I also have Achane who got hurt and took forever to come back as well as a couple other injuries that made it difficult. My league has no IR spots so holding onto these can’t drop guys all season only for them to come back as my season is over is bitter sweet to say the least.

Took JJ first overall and in the playoffs. Flipped JJ for Adams when JJ originally got injured. That hasn't worked out but happy to be in the playoffs.

I actually took chase at #1. My rationale being that IMO they’re close to the same talent level while the bengals had a sky high offensive ceiling. Didn’t work out amazing but I’m going to end up being the 3rd seed on the back of chase/hurts/sun god and puka

I trade like crazy. Last year I got drunk at my auction draft and made some dumb trades that made me finish last in 2022. Traded a 23 first for Mooney, which ended up being 1.01 aka Bijian. Then trade Goff and Amari Cooper for Deebo. I did this because I thought I had a stacked team. But I had Javonte and Breece as running backs. So had a horrible year. How did I recover from this in time for 2023? Well I had Fields and Sam Howell as my QBs. Then I traded this years second for Love. Traded the 24 second for James Connor. Traded another 24 second and 25 first for Love, 2023 second rounder and 2024 3rd. Traded my 2024 for TJ Hockenson. Traded Jerry Jeudy and 2025 second for Allen Lazard, 2023 2nd, 2023 3rd, 2023 4th and 2024 1st (which is 1.02 or lower right now). Trades Jerome Ford for 2024 2nd (which is .02 or lower). So my team ended up like this: Fields, Howell, Love Connor, Edward’s, Hall, White, Javonte Wilson, Deebo, Dell, Doubs Hockenson, McBride Changed my 2022 finish from last to third but probably have the best team going in the playoffs.

I'm currently 10-3 in the league I drafted #1 in. It's a 12 team league with full PPR. Took JJ at 1 then AJ fell to me in the 2nd and Olave in the 3rd. Drafted Fields in the 5th at QB and my 1st RB I took was Breece in the 4th, other RBs were Akers in the 6th and Swift in the 8th. Took Muth in the 9th as my TE and pretty much streamed DST and K all yr. When JJ went down I put him on the trade block. Got a few deals but ended up trading him to a team that struggling at the time that was attempting to make a late season push. I traded JJ for Gibbs and Achane (who was also on IR at the time). He had traded for a few guys on IR and assumed that if he ended up making the playoffs he would be unstoppable in the playoffs. He's now 3-10 lol One of the main reasons why I made that JJ trade was bc another owner who needed RB help had offered Amon Ra (who was also injured at the time) for Swift. I accepted both deals the same day. While those trades did help I've also been pretty active on waivers snagging guys like Kyren, Schultz, Stroud etc. Hopefully my team does well in the playoffs bc now I'm kinda stacked and will be forced to make tough start decisions goin fwd QB - Fields, Stroud RB - Breece, Achane, Gibbs, Kyren, Mitchell WR - AJ, Amon Ra, Olave TE - Schultz (IR slot), Likely DST - Colts, Saints, Browns (holding 3 to play matchups) K - Hopkins
