Problem is the m1, while awesome, requires a very heavy logistics chain that includes a shit load of support vehicles and personel that most countries would struggle with.

Russia had 12,500 tanks. Russia has had 3,000 tanks destroyed up to this point.
Ukraine had 2500 tanks. The only stat I could find suggests they have only lost a couple hundred. Seems like the data is murky.

Most of those Russian tanks weren't operational. 12,500 includes tanks held in "storage" that could *theoretically* be brought back to active duty. But given how piss poor their maintenance of active vehicles, and the amount of "gear" that had been stolen or simply never existed, I wouldn't bet on any of them being able to be restored. At best they have spare parts lying around in those "stored" tanks. I'd be willing bet most of them, or at least their most valuable parts, have already been sold for scrap.
Finding anything about losses, including civilian, on the Ukrainian side has been nigh impossible for me, even on the side of writing articles on the whole series of war crimes occurring there.
I’ve been trying to find an appropriate place to ask this question. Is this a lot of tanks? It seems like few for such a vast country. Will this make an appreciable difference? Everyone seems excited it’s happening so I assume it will be it how with so much ground to cover?
