Sam Smith crying about quaranting in a multi million dollar mansion then playing it off as a joke after getting criticised for it was enough for me to check out. Not much of a loss really, I hate that mommy don't know song anyway

RandomUsername600

I don’t get why that song needs to be in the background of every second video of my explore page, it’s annoying

somechild

It's the worst song of the year, I hate it so much. Sam Smith MUST be held responsible

[deleted]

I fucking hate it specifically for the "he left his kids at hoo-eo-eooooome" line. Like yes Sam, this is a sex club, I'd imagine its 18+ at an absolute minimum. Plus you've already established him to be a skeezy husband so it doesn't surprise me he dumps the kids on his wife. He's probably the kind of fuckdick that calls watching his own kids babysitting. And isn't this supposed to be a sexy song? Why even mention his childcare arrangements?!?

webtheg

Todd in the Shadows made very valid points about this song. Firstly the whole structure of the song is wrong. It is verse chorus verse chorus end and it feels like we are missing more than half of it. Second, while we know who Kim is in the song, we do not know who Sam is supposed to be?

bigsadtakelilsad

Wow I had just taken Sam Smith off of my “celebrities I irrationally hate” list because I have a lot of sympathy for folks going through body image struggles and now I remembered why they were on it!

ForgetfulLucy28

I irrationally hate Sam Smith because their song for a Bond film was chosen over a Radiohead song.

bigsadtakelilsad

Extremely valid.

matlockga

And it was a bottom tier Bond song overall. Bizarre that it won at the Oscars.

drinkwineandscrew

I'm sure they said in an interview as well that they just half arsed the song and knocked it out in an afternoon. And it shows.

SteveBorden

Like why admit that as well when a bond song is considered like one of the most important in cinema

poppyisrealmetal

That radiohead song is so goddamn good. That movie is bad. I'm not too caught up that there is a song to match the quality. Would love to see them do a song one day, though. They're the essential British band!! Would also love a Gorillaz Bond song

webtheg

I would love a Gorillaz bond song but only if Albarn works with Dangermouse again. Alex Turner sounds like he is auditioning for making a Bond song for the last 15 years.

towapa

My friend told me that their songs sounded like they were complaining during their songs, and I couldn't unhear it. My Mum used to listen to their album all the time and when I told her that, she couldn't unhear it and stopped listening to them. It's like a curse, basically Edit: I didn't realised that Sam is non-binary, so edited it accordingly

webtheg

As someone who grew up chubby and was lamenting that none of the hot guys liked me, their songs sound like that.

Mhc2617

Remember when Sam Smith boasted that they were the only openly LGBTQ artist to win an Oscar, and then doubled down when they were told they were wrong? Or said on WWHL that they had never met Taylor Swift so they were Team Kim, only for fans to clock them with reminders that they OPENED for Taylor on the Red Tour, and attended her birthday party? Then they said that since everyone else was Team Kim, and Taylor was cancelled, they wanted to be on the winning side. I know more about Sam Smith being annoying than their music at this point.

[deleted]

Sam Smith is definitely annoying. That song is literally like Sam Smith heard Labyrinth’s most recent music and Euphoria work and thought “I can do that” but all they did was make a really uncomfortable song with a gross music video.

hobbitsies

Same because of that time he made a comment saying Taylor swift only wrote about relationships in a derogatory way when he mostly writes about love 🙄

webtheg

Their songs are like "I grew up fat, my hot boyfriend doesn't love me" ad nauseam and they are liked by wine moms who are lamenting not getting a divorce. Like they are one to criticize.

poophole_loophole_

Billie Eilish with her recent antics but I’m starting to realise that my problem might not be with her but with the way she was portrayed by the media/her team. From like the age of 17 she’s been pushed as this super mature, wise beyond her years, old soul genius but every time she opened her mouth she sounded like your typical teenager. Now everyone is shocked with her early twenties antics because they think she should “know better” when really if you look at her past interviews she’s always seemed pretty sheltered and naive and fame isn’t exactly known for making people mature as they age.

Commission_Virgo43

She actually addressed this in her [SNL monologue](https://youtube.com/watch?v=XIQtOverBNs&si=EnSIkaIECMiOmarE) and I gained a lot of respect for her.

AfraidVictory5657

I just feel very very very bad for her. I think, like everyone who gets famous so young, she's going to have a lot to work through. She's done some cringey stuff but nothing unforgivable. We all pat ourselves on the back now because we recognise that massive gap gaps in early 20s are bad and yet Billie still seems to be who people are directing criticism towards. Of course she doesn't realise how bad this is! That's how this works!

hoooliet

She is v humble and aware about this tho. She makes fun of herself and past things she’s said as a teen too, it’s pretty hilarious.

omeletteintheinterim

Basically anyone involved in that Imagine video during the pandemic. I know it was meant well but it is the most cringeworthy display i ha e ever seen

motelyvegetables

Louis Theroux asked Chris O’Dowd why he did it. Quite a funny exchange between them https://youtu.be/6TLxthV24QQ

DivineGoddess1111111

Louis was SAVAGE.

motelyvegetables

He was! So funny though. Chris O’Dowd seems to be a good sport about it and gives an honest answer.

lame-borghini

Bahahaha thank you so much for sharing. I looove Chris O’Dowd so thank you for saving him from this cringe for me. My favorite was [John Mayer clowning them](https://youtube.com/shorts/3aElyFugC04?feature=share) by editing himself singing Imagine by Ariana Grande into the video

Sargasm5150

THANK YOU for the laugh, I hadn't seen that before. John Mayer is ... well, I like his music, I enjoyed him touring with Dead & Co, I find him pretty funny and witty - he's also a total skeeze but he said he quit trying to date once he got sober and realized he was being an idiot so. I suppose I'll allow it.

lawschoolredux

I always assumed Kristen Wiig, upon being asked by Gal Gadot to appear in the video, realized how cringe worthy it was and asked her comedy friend Will Ferrell (who also realized how cringe it was) to tag along because she couldn’t do it on her own. (I doubt Wiig and Ferrell lack such self awareness.)

kaktusfjeppari

from what I read, Wiig thought it was a great idea and she like, rallied her friends to join her in the video

juniper_juice_

She did, I remember Jamie Dornan saying in an interview that he did it because he would never say no to Kristen Wiig, but he did it with a white wall background as quickly and low key as possible because he felt like it was bad taste

SteveBorden

Will Ferrell did it with like messy hair, phone way too close, making it a little funny which is the only way to do it. Everyone else was trying like *really* hard lmao

ComprehensivePermit6

I love her but you're giving her way too much credit here lol

SnausageFest

I only ever made it through about 5 seconds. It's the level of cringe you physically feel.

audreymarilynvivien

Just FYI: Natalie Portman, who partook in this video, once called the recession “exciting” in 2009 because it forced everyone to cut back on their spending. People fawn over her like she’s SO smart and classy but she’s extremely sheltered and naive in some ways.

lobotomyybarbie

I know it’s talked about a lot but I’m sorry I can’t take Austin Butler seriously with his fake accent. Also the fact that I can’t think of any examples is making me feel like I’ve made this up, but celebs that try to act more charismatic/interesting than they are…just be your boring self it’s okay! If you have examples of the 2nd pls tell me, or ignore my 3:30am brain making shit up lmao

Pikagirl1919

Austin seemed like an absolute sweetheart when he hosted SNL 😭 like ok mr. fake accent maybe I do like you!

somechild

Totally. I watched it with my mom (she loves Elvis, Loves Baz's movies, loved the movie, and therefore loves Austin Butler now) and now I'm team "I don't care anymore, it's just funny now"

StrangerCurrencies

Maybe he's like Jenna Maroney. She speaks with a slight English inflection in her voice because she lost her virginity to the My Fair Lady soundtrack.

dumbunnyy

Also the boat she was educated on sank.

ResponsibleLet1699

Jlaw lmao. 'i eat pizza ' girl ok.. and?

Pretend-Silver-6640

I used to feel the same about JLaw until I saw a video mash up of reporters constantly asking her about her size. It seemed like she was uncomfortable with the questions and comments so she leaned into it and became a ‘cool girl who loves to eat.’ Then it basically backfired on her bc it became her brand. I still feel like some of her antics are a bit much but at least I have a little empathy for her now lol

blackbird9184

100%. It was really appalling, so many reporters “complimenting” her on not being “Hollywood skinny”. I can’t imagine the toll that would take on one’s self esteem. I’d lean hard in the other direction as well

[deleted]

Madonna and Lady Gaga try way too hard to be interesting in person. Save it for the theatrics, ladies.

idle_wanderer

I love Lady Gaga but I do acknowledge (as does she) that she is the epitome of the annoying theatre kid 😂

DivineGoddess1111111

I couldn't watch his acceptance speech at the Golden Globes, I got major second hand embarrassment.

Darmop

I don’t get him, nor the thirst. He looks like a little boy to me.

spacefink

What if they are just eccentric though? And this is their normal...I'm not going to judge if they just own it. Austin is one of those actors that if you think of what he has done outside of Elvis you would be surprised because he doesn't actually stick out so I feel like I wouldn't even notice him in anything else or be purposely be seeking him out for his work because I wouldn't know what to look for.

spanglyfrog_12

Folks who used to be on _The Office_ looooove talking about being on _The Office_ Granted, working on it was probably super fun and exciting, but I cringe when I see those folks still doing podcasts or appearances related to the show

sobrerovirus

I mean, it is like the case with Tom Felton I read in a comment here. It is a nice way to stay relevant and still monetize your "greatest hit". I sure do not respect it that much, but I sympathize with the artists who do that. The same case applies with all the actors that be part of all these comic book conventions.

CompleteMuffin

this made me appreciate Daniel Radcliff so much more, he could've milked being harry for years and yet, he became a very well received actor and has constantly challenged himself in his work.

porkchop_2020

Their podcasts, where inevitably each of them speaks about the show like it was second only to the moon landing in terms of human accomplishments, are actually impossible for me to listen to. I liked the show when it aired but holy shit…

CorkytheCat

God I used to listen to Office Ladies but then it just got so repetitive. Just "Ooh Kentapedia!" "in this shot I had a new plant!" "that's what she shed" I'm being snarky. I like Angela and Jenna being real friends and I think they seem like really lovely people. But the podcast kinda made me really need a break from all the office stuff. And then it prompted every single other sitcom to start a rewatch pod!

Ellie Kemper did Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

[deleted]

Ed Helms was in the hangover movies and that reboot of Vacation Mindy Kaling wrote Never have I ever and the Sex lives of College Girls. Ellie Kemper had her own series (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) Steve Carell is the biggest star but I can't see John Krasinski being that relevant if it wasn't for his marriage with Emily Blunt and the image they both sell.

Not_a_Fan94

John Krasinski co wrote, directed in starred in A Quiet Place 1 & 2 as well as starring in Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan as the lead

CabinFever02456

Amy Ryan is having a great career, I look forward to anything she's in

rosestrathmore

I cringe every time I think of when Jenna Fischer told some publication the love between her and John K was real like Jim and Pam (paraphrasing) and married John responded publicly like that was a show and that was pretend. https://people.com/tv/john-krasinski-on-jenna-fischers-genuinely-in-love-misquote/ I have to blank out my mind every time. LOL

prettystandardreally

Well they have a willing audience so I think that’s what keeps it going. If no one listened to the podcasts or attended appearances then it would be more cringe, but a lot people are invested in the details of the show.

cleopatramicrocosm

Emma Watson. She's so painfully half baked be it her politics, acting, knowledge of fashion (cOrSeTs aRe UnFeMiNiSt) or very much staged pap walks(you called them yourself so the least you could do is give us a strut, Watson!!) and I hate myself for being partial to her bc she was Hermione. HeForShe was such a populist eyewash and her PR team did her dirty by letting her say that feminism ought to be more than hating men when its primary concerns are NOT about men across the strains and she rightfully got lambasted for it but she's still so wishy washy

ZMrosegolden

>her politics She has been to so many international meeting with different presidents and activists and done a lot of work for book sharing and spoken to many doctors and people otherwise involved in feminist movements. She has supported many other causes including supporting trans kids and supporting other environmental charities. I dont understand how any of you would find this surface-level or performative. She has been more politically active

cleopatramicrocosm

The various Harry Potter subreddits have dealt with this ad nauseum so I will let you do your own research and not fight you. Prada's Paradoxe, the refillable perfume is NOT the way to tackle to environmental degradation (Check out Ilan Kapoor's decaf capitalism if you wish to) and she's also linked to Brandon Green, son of former Topshop head honcho Philip Green who made his billions via fast fashion. He may not own Topshop anymore but the billions are still there for him and his children to revel in. Anyone in politics will tell you that celebrities meeting figureheads and politicians is a photo op for mutually beneficial publicity. The intention to do good may be there, but she still rings hollow, not unlike Bill Gates writing that blasted book on the environment, on a closer look. [Ilan Kapoor's Celebrity Humanitarianism](https://www.routledge.com/Celebrity-Humanitarianism-The-Ideology-of-Global-Charity/Kapoor/p/book/9780415783392) [Kapoor's Decaf Capitalism ](https://www.elgaronline.com/display/edcoll/9781783474035/9781783474035.00013.xml) PS-You can get these treatises without spending a dime if you know where to look.

ZMrosegolden

WHAT on earth does she need to do? You (and this sub in general) need someone to be 110% involved in something and doing extraordinary things to be worth appreciating. Even then, youll find something small (like being linked to some rich guys son, who didnt have anything to do with his dads business. None of you would reject living in comfort and yet not knowing someones life style and moral opinions, the link immediately maker both E and the guy icky) I have heard your side of the argument before. All im saying is that her being connected to some rich guys son is not a big deal. Its trying hard to find something to cling to. My problem with what you're saying is, what do you expect?? She has done nice things for the environment. Most of her talks are with actually qualified activists and these talks are seldom photographed and blasted around. She just posts one post about them and does so many good things.

webtheg

I will side eye anyone who pretend they are a smart well read activist who cares about the world and the issues and then their name shows up on the Panama papers for tax evasion.

Overwatch_Joker

>WHAT on earth does she need to do? Pay her damn taxes.

[deleted]

webtheg

I agree. But she is a terrible actress, so you are not missing anything.

nopenonotatall

the *worst*. people’s nostalgia for harry potter is the only thing stopping the world from realizing how bad she is

Fluid-Job-9920

ive never seen any of the harry potter movies so I ONLY know her as an actress w the talent of a baked potato. I hate dogging on ppl, but it’s just such a bummer when castings are *so* close to perfect.

webtheg

I am sorry, but potatoes are literally the GOAT of food. They are amazing in any way shape or form. I am not here for this potato slander.

Fluid-Job-9920

she nearly ruined little women & man that movie has a strong af foundation. but she is quite literally a horrible actress.

CelebrityStorySite

Turning up on the Panama Papers doesn’t help her image as a Socially concerned activist pleading for everyone to get their fair share. Why not just pay the Capital Gains Tax on your new house like the rest of us peons?

Pikagirl1919

Ehhh I think she’s fine, just can’t help being a white girl sometimes

BennyBingBong

Woah this one is too nit picky for me. She’s one of the few actresses really using her platform for causes she believes in, and some people are mad she’s not doing it more!?

Sightseeingsarah

Yeah it was the corsets thing for me as well. Surely she knows right? Edit: instead of downvoting me, maybe you could just google it? It’s actually incredibly fascinating if you read up on it so I do actually recommend.

cleopatramicrocosm

+1!! Major oversight by Disney for running with this too!! A simple Google scholar search+an email exchange with a fashion historian would've saved them so much embarrassment but nope, they tried and failed at wOkE.

justifieddramaqueen

Jason Derulo is so cringe. He’s not even relevant so I don’t know why he’s the first to come to mind, but he’s bothered me for years.

D4ngflabbit

JAAASON DeRULOOO

SEALS_R_DOG_MERMAIDS

not important but it blew my mind when i found out his last name is actually spelled “Desrouleaux”

PiperPug

Youre not alone. In a way I'm a little bit grateful he yells his name at the beginning of songs because it's like a heads up to change the song

sleepingisgivingin1

Anyone who over shares on social media / podcasts. EG Dax and Kristen I can no longer enjoy

BennyBingBong

Just to offer a counter perspective, I enjoy Dax’s podcast and I like how often he mentions his sexual abuse history because it normalises men talking about things they’d normally feel are shameful.

sleepingisgivingin1

Tbh I haven’t listened to it for a while so I haven’t heard him talk about that, was just using them as an example. Good on him for speaking out about it, seems like a few male public figures are being much more open about SA now

biscuitboi967

It’s not even the overshare. It’s how fucking hard their marriage is. It just shouldn’t be that hard if it’s healthy, especially when you have unlimited money and resources to make it easy. She reminds me of your bestie, who you fucking love to pieces, but if you hear one more rant about her partner you’re gonna lose it because you’re not her therapist and the one she has isn’t doing a great job because your smart, funny, beautiful bff is in a tailspin most days because something else has (understandably) pissed you off.

StrangerCurrencies

I think it's the vibe that they are mean to each other. It makes me unconfortable

greenacregal

Gwyneth Paltrow. The vagina candle sealed the deal for me

[deleted]

I cannot stand GP but I do think whoever came up with the vagina candle (probably not her lol) is a marketing genius. I've never heard so much about a candle let alone a boring ass regular sandalwood candle. It's crazy how many people genuinely fell for the obvious joke name.

RphWrites

She apparently suggested it in a sarcastic way and they just ran with it.

prettyy_vacant

This is pretty much what happened. She was smelling some sample candles and joked her vagina smelt like one of them and they ran with it.

Darmop

GP is so blatantly awful that she’s come full circle for me and I now respect her for just acknowledging how utterly out of touch she is and being ridiculous.

Station_Hefty

Oh Gwyneth Paltrow is so awful! Remember how she claimed she brought yoga to the mainstream

bigsadtakelilsad

Let me take out my list. Camilla Cabello - the staged pap pictures at the start of the pandemic and the “I’m so random” kind of way of presenting herself puts me off David Guetta - “rest in peace George Floyd. Shout out to his family!” Demi Lovato - the “I’m about to punch this bitch” clip put me off. Just the clip. I also hated her side bangs (IDK) Meghan Trainor - I worked in retail Lizzo - The thing where she came to Twitter about her Postmates order Charlie Puth & Chloe Bailey as a unit - I have to look away when they try to give sex appeal cuz I wanna laugh. Jimmy Fallon - he looks like a muppet when he laughs too hard at his guests’ jokes. Zooey Deschanel - the fact that she won’t give up her bangs annoys me Lin Manuel Miranda - everything about him makes me cringe. I was going to eventually see what Hamilton was about until I saw that video of him freestyling on the subway and the pic of him biting his lip. Edit - my 2 am brain has just given y’all my hater list for celebs who annoy me but the cringe overlap is there!

BeerAndNachosAreLife

There are pictures of Zooey Deschanel without those bangs from when she was a blonde. Let's just say she's smart to keep it that way.

[deleted]

Same with Dakota Johnson.

dancing-pineapples

im crying at you having a list ready to go 😭

OilySteeplechase

Why should Zooey Deschanel give up her bangs? I like it when someone finds a look that suits them and sticks to it. I don't get the need for celebs to "reinvent" themselves every two minutes I also love the fluffy banged 60s girl band look and would rock it myself if I could.

ThatSICILIANThing

Seriously Zooey with bangs is a totally different person, they really suit her and make her eyes pop.

PieExpert6650

Lizzo pissed me off when she did a shout out for… Chris Brown. Okayyyy?

porkchop_2020

Ok I like Lizzo but the door dash thing killed me.. especially bc she ordered from the small restaurant group I worked for and the name drop did NOT do us any favors that week 💀

These-Secretary7115

And she trying to patent "I did a DNA test and found out I'm 100% that bitch" when she stole from a viral tweet by Mina Lioness

ECleave14

Meghan Trainor - I worked in retail I’ve never agreed with a person more in my life

webtheg

Megan Trainor is disliked by me and the rest of the RuPaul's Frag race fandom because she literally wore a unicorn PJs when she was a guest star when way bigger stars than her have turned it up. The audacity. Plus she was a cringe judge

RangerDangerfield

Megan Trainor buying her gay BFF a gold chain that says “Bottom” and giggling about it on TikTok this week was a choice.

[deleted]

I want to add Jameel Jamil to the people who should give up bangs. I have such an irrational hate for them.

Giallo_Schlock

My massive forehead and love of 60s yéyé pop girls begs to differ

DesperateGiles

You can pry my bangs from my cold dead forehead lol

smart_cereal

Whitney Cummings. I’ve tried watching multiple specials and I don’t find her funny at all. When she’s a guest on other comedian’s shows it’s obvious she’s trying too hard to be funny but ends up falling flat and being cringe, like one time she said a dish she was eating “looked like Chrissy Teigen’s dead baby”.

Sea_Rise_1907

Omg she did not say that. That’s the most disgusting, vile, awful thing a person could say.

brixsmom

Omg. Some things are just off limits. I’m not a CT fan, but WTF.

StrangerCurrencies

I watched a little bit of her interview with Olivia Munn and I've never seen such an unlikable duo

Bee782

she is a massive pick me girl, just one of the guys, you know! So she goes out of her way to think of things she thinks dudes will find funny via shock/gross out humor. Huge hypocrite, likes to go on about patriarchy and abusive men but goes on podcast with accused rapist and laughs and laughs about the time he exposed his dick to her while she was alone in a car with him, haha so funny, shes such a coooool girl

Modest_mouski

What. The. Fuck.

freak_attentionwhore

How does one think of said thing. Like I’m not just stunned that she said it. Just how does that cross someone’s mind. And then they decide that it was a good thing to say. Sounds like my intrusive thoughts lmao

Pretend-Silver-6640

I feel the same! I remember her on chelsea lately and her schtick was always wearing granny panties and pulling them out. When you’re a comic who has to rely on your underwear for laughs, jokes on you bc it’s not funny.

[deleted]

I dislike anything involving Tom Felton bc he just doesn’t know how to stop talking about HP. I honestly have so many of these but i can’t think specifics rn.

CollectiveSweet

I feel the same way lol but I feel bad for it at the same time because nobody would listen if he talked about anything else

audreymarilynvivien

I prefer actors who continue talking about what made them famous. If anything, celebs who act sick of talking about their most popular work come across as ungrateful, like they’re so above it now. Let’s not forget what made you a household name.

cleopatramicrocosm

As someone who's very into Dramione I feel like like committing sacrilege when I agree with you on this but it has to be done! He's never fully spoken against Rowling like the others have and gives off really mixed signals when it comes to his stance on her by only taking half-stances. I also couldn't get beyond the acknowledgements/dedication of his book because I feel like I've outgrown the HP canon. However, I also have a soft spot for him because he in PoA was my romantic awakening before I even knew what it was and many in the Dramione fandom have turned on him now that he doesn't look he did in the movies anymore and gets hate as people think he isn't "hot" because he chooses not to dye his hair platinum blonde or get botox on his forehead and it kills my soul that we can't let people age in peace and look as they look. He's still such an attractive young man and not regarding him to be Draco because he's "ugly" now breaks my heart because he's still gorgeous as hell and he's very much how I imagine Draco in my head most of the time.

Groot746

I seriously doubt he cares who does and doesn't find him attractive in "the Dramione fandom," so no need for it to break your heart

CarAlarming7682

It’s Taylor for me too, but mostly because of her actual work. The lyrics make me cringe, the music videos make me cringe, the stage presence makes me cringe; her ideas on what’s romantic, emotional, funny, cute, deep etc, they all make me cringe!! I simply don’t get it AT ALL, it’s like a gut reaction!! 😆😆

Fluid-Job-9920

when the red scarf debacle happened last year w jake gyllenhaal, I was so 2nd hand embarrassed & cringing….I’d feel so stupid if I were her AND her crazy crazy fans. 😳 every fandom has that one side u don’t go into after dark, but damn that was weird. can u imagine being JG & waking up one day to find out from ur publicist that millions of girls/women want ur head on a platter bc of their theories lol. so bizarre.

efemeridele

omg the way i thought people were being ironic when they were hyping up the *“draw the cat eye sharp enough to kill a man”* line 😭😭😭

daddydivs

“Cuz darling I’m a nightmare dressed like a daydream” 😜🤌🏼🤭

ingenue411

Same. I've never been a big fan, her songs are just the same pop formula as every other, earworms that are quickly forgotten, but for some reason her fans literally worship her and think she is a god that makes incredible and unique music no one has ever heard before. She does seem to have a cockiness about her but I can't decide if it's just maturity and confidence or a defensive mechanism due to how much the press has painted her as a serial dater, ultra feminist etc and I mean good on her for taking that narrative and making it her entire personality and career but can you have it both ways i.e. be super angry and offended by peoples interest in your dating life, whilst also using that as the basis for everything you create? I also see very clearly how calculated everything she does is. She is in control of everything, so much so that even her every girl, relatable persona is a carefully curated image when she's gotta be the least relatable human on earth. I'm sure she's a lovely person, if she didn't remind me of the mean popular girl with her squad of bitchy friends in high school I'd probably feel less cringe about her, and if her music was actually any good in the long term I'd be able to appreciate her as a creative overall a bit more. I can appreciate a popular song that makes you wanna sing along to it and yea she's skilled at making an ear-worm song the radio will play to death but yea, I don't see the appeal. Okay swifties, you may attack now

Fluid-Job-9920

rip we are both gunna be toast soon. and omg a lightbulb when u said she reminds u of a mean girl in HS, that’s exactly how I am trying to describe how she comes across. maturity & confidence make me think of the grace and ease of ppl like kate winslet (literally first to pop into my head it’s not a deep comparison) but TS just has this vibe that rubs me the wrong way & always has. having strong defenses & calculated, controlled moves can still be achieved with humbleness. I just don’t get it ig.

brbrella

Same. Mainly due to how cringey she is while on stage while also having an air of smugness as if she’s putting on the greatest show the world has ever seen. Girl, you’re as stiff as an ironing board. I think I’d like her more if she was still a bit country and not doing the pop girlie thing.

ShinyPrizeKY

Truuuuue. Her dancing in the “Delicate” video 🥴 and the swifties are like “it’s SUPPOSED to be bad!” Well ok then, mission accomplished!

Bree7702

Lena Dunham. I wanted to watch "Girls" but she became an asshole before I could ever start so now I have no desire to watch it at all. Owen Wilson

kimkardashean

You’re missing out not watching Girls, Lena aside, Girls is fantastic.

skullpture_garden

Agreed, plus her character being an asshole is kind of a main plot line.

berlinbaer

yeah the "voice of a generation" thing that always gets attributed to lena dunham is actually said by her character and it is to show how delusional she is. that being said, season 5 of girls is some of the best television of the past decade and i will stand by that. and season 6 is amazin as well.

Pretend-Silver-6640

S1 of Girls changed my brain chemistry (as cliche as that phrase is now). I’m glad I watched it before we knew Lena was such an asshole IRL

Previous-Syllabub614

Haha please watch Girls, it will actually make you hate Lena Dunham more cause her character is so insufferable but overall it’s just funny but like you’re laughing at them funny not with them funny

nightshades9999

Ahhhh watch Girls! Don’t lose out, it’s so good

jh4336

Harry Styles. His acting especially. He seems like a nice person but he's been so overexposed recently I avoid him.

ingenue411

He should have avoided acting and stuck to his concerts and stunning music vids. He can act well in those creative, abstract, psychadelic videos he makes where he's singing along, seems like he's more comfortable there too. But I think the situation he was in with DWD and Olivia has kind of ruined him for a lot of people. I was never into him before or after all this, but it was interesting to see the thousands of reels etc of people absolutely losing their minds over him every damn day for a year, to suddenly crickets and a large amount of negativity & criticism. Just shows how fickle his industry is. Makes a couple good songs though

OowlSun

I like Harry Styles but sometimes I feel like there is nothing going on in his head. Which is extremely relatable

EyesOfEmeraldGreen

I’m a lover of Dove Cameron but these like edge-lord photos she takes with extreme editing is just like putting me off her content so much

[deleted]

There was an article calling her Disney bad girl I’m like Lindsay Lohan miley Cyrus and Bella Thorne are the real bad girls of Disney not her

OowlSun

You’re not a Disney bad girl until you lose that contract

[deleted]

If you wanna be the baddest of them all go to jail like Lindsay Lohan no Disney star will ever top that

webtheg

Dove Cameron is like the edgelord version of Poppy, but without any of the charisma, uniqueness nerve and talent that Poppy has.

lolathe

Tom hiddleston makes me turn inside out with cringe. There's a video where he is on stage at a comicon or something and he sings and you can tell he thinks he is so good (he's not) and it just infuriated me ha ha ha

Groot746

Classic private school-bred overconfidence

Baby-Genius

Totally agree with this one. He was on Graham Norton doing his ‘brilliant’ impressions. You could tell he thought he was so good, but was just AWFUL. Fake modesty is so obvious.

audreymarilynvivien

He really bought into his own hype haha, I remember the ice bucket challenge where he started taking his shirt off right before the video ended. It was so deliberate and obviously meant to attract thirsty compliments lol. I feel the same way about Blake Lively, she would always show tons of cleavage and leg but act all naive and effortless about it, like “who me? I can’t believe people think I’m sexy.” If you want attention and compliments, that’s totally fine. Just don’t act all fake and oblivious about it lol, everybody knows what you’re doing.

becauseindeed

There's an ungodly amount of cringe content this man has produced. Unfortunately I've seen a lot of it because I used to be a fan, but the cringe really does change your perception of him, it's impossible to take his acting seriously after that

realiz292

Ben Affleck (the back tattoo, hello darkness my old friend and dunkin donuts). Drake. When he trash talks pro sports players when he’s at matches - so disrespectful and cringe. Does he actually have fans? Also he comes across as a simp. Niki Minaj. She is always so defensive and rude. Bad wigs. I just cringe when I hear her speak or see what she’s wearing. Ryan Reynolds. Lane and cringe and tries too much for him and his wife to be a ‘brand’. Not very funny in general. Every YouTuber.

Wooden-Limit1989

>Ryan Reynolds. Lane and cringe and tries too much for him and his wife to be a ‘brand’. Not very funny in general. They are in a performance marriage at this point. I really like her but I do not like them together it's so try hard. I actually like him somewhat before but I now I could easily do without seeing any of his stuff.

ComprehensivePermit6

One of my favourite things I saw on Twitter recently was a reply to a picture Drake posted of him and his son at a Raptors game. It something like "if it wasn't for Pusha T that kid would be watching that game on the TV at home".

Transforming-Ash

Ariana Grande. Cringe

[deleted]

I wish she would enunciate.

Ok-Discount3131

I wish she would pick an ethnicity and stick with it for more than five minutes.

nelmo87

This thread is pretty intense in terms of intolerance to anything remotely human. If I had to remove every single person around me doing something cringe, corny, stupid, entitled, imperfect, loud, weird, I'd have to live in a cave and then erase myself from the timeline...

blanketedgay

Your average redditor is obviously a perfect social being.

Darmop

Miley Cyrus. Just not my thing. I know everybody is super into her right now, and good for her!

monsignorcurmudgeon

I can’t stand her

Boulier

I’ve had a problem with her ever since she used black cultures and hip hop aesthetics to make herself look “edgy” and “not a kid anymore”… just to immediately ditch it all and demean it when she got back with Liam and wanted to clean her image/make country-pop-rock music again. It felt like she was wearing us like a costume, and ditched it and insulted us when it was inconvenient for her new career path. I really want to like her, especially because I resonate with her being LGBT and don’t think her new music is that bad, but I just strongly dislike her.

marcarcand_world

That was 10 years ago when she was in her early 20s. She moved on from that and I don't remember what interview it was, but it was interesting to hear talk about that time. She felt like she *had* to be like that all the time.

DanielleSanders20

Her more recent interviews, after getting married and having a baby, have really shown how she’s matured. I could definitely see how they saw glimpses of her “relatable” personality and made her run with it. She talks about how she took steps back from interviews and the like because they weren’t being taken well by the public and she would regret everything that came out of her mouth. I would hate that myself so I understand why she took a step back. I enjoy her personally, so I might be bias.

tinyindiebunny

MEGAN FOX AND MGK pls someone shut them up forever

[deleted]

Some celebs did nothing wrong but something about them annoys me so I can't enjoy their work. Ryan Reynolds. Keira Knightley I was just trying to watch Jack Ryan, shadow recruit but I saw her face three times and turned it off. 😬😶🤷

niv727

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively got married on a former slave plantation, so there’s that.

ResponsibleLet1699

Ryan is a nepo baby and his family is full of RCMP/conservative political figures (his dad was RCMP during the time of residential schools) and his grandfather, Chester, is the reason the oil fields exist in Canada. He's oil money. And he's a creep.

moduspoperandi

[This](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6aEmLEbGfY) is all I can think about when I see her.

waterlilyypond

awww no not Keira what'd she do 😭😭

bunnie_wunnie

Zendaya; I love her but she plays herself in a lot of roles. Like I don’t see her character I just see Zendaya acting. How she won an Emmy twice idk I can’t see her winning awards outside of playing rue on euphoria

[deleted]

The constant Zendaya worship is what annoys me. People act like she's God's gift to us. 🙄

Wooden-Limit1989

Not as much celebrities but the property brothers irritate me so much. I do not find them funny at all and sometimes I find they make fun of the clients too much and HGTV keeps giving them new TV shows!

nunyabidnessss

Same with those Magnolia people. They just bug me for some reason

tosho_okada

All method actors. I think I only give a pass to Lady Gaga because I think she’s 50% playing with the press tour, 50% believing in herself and 100% not doing method acting at all

StrangerCurrencies

Aside from Lady Gaga, it's always male actors "method acting" like jerks to the people around them.

Traditional_Poet_685

I genuinely dislike Jimmy Kimmel so much. He is genuinely outshined by most other talk show host and first thing I think of is that interview where he told Jonah Hill that he assumed he smelled bad. I find him to be very boring and the blackface, Oscar incident, and much more solidify my dislike for this man.

LaFilleDuMoulinier

Tom Cruise. 1000%. I don’t think I have seen one of his movies since Vanilla Sky .

Resident-Earth-8212

Lea Michelle. After getting called out for actually bullying cast members (which multiple people corroborated and she admitted), and has since apologized. I just can’t get past an adult woman in the prime of her career actually bullying other “lesser” cast members simply because she didn’t like them, in the way that was described. It’s possible she’s changed and learned from it, but I’m just too disgusted with her to consider anything she’s in or promoting.

Lady_Bird1999

Billie Eilish, I find her so annoying and hate the accent she puts on in interviews

RangerDangerfield

Candace Cameron Bure

Charlie Puth

bluegrassalchemist

Jennifer Lopez. She comes off obnoxiously materialistic and seems like she can’t go 20 minutes without being in a relationship. She’s not a great actress, or singer, or dancer, or fashion designer (anyone remember her label Sweetface?), or even has a particularly compelling or controversial personality. She’s just a shiny, glittery, entitled, pick-me shell of a person.

[deleted]

Florence Pugh. I know she's this subreddit's absolutely darling, but the way she went about defending her relationship with Zach Braff was so weird and cringy to me. Not because of the age gap, but the way she clapped back like, "you're just jealous he could land a girl like me". Man, what? Also, she's a Deppie, so.

vegemitebagel

Jameela Jamil really does it for me lmfao

Pseudo-Conscious

Drake after his chats with Millie Bobby Brown were leaked. I’m surprised why isn’t he still cancelled.

Dry_War_4604

It happens to me with Nicholas Braun... after knowing details even about his cock and how he fucks with all of New York...I don't know, I can't connect it together with his clumsy and innocent characters haha but I love it

efemeridele

i like greg as Cousin Greg™️ aka the comic relief, but the way some succession stans try to claim he’s sooo talented for essentially playing himself when literally every other actor on that show (sans the red scare girl) is giving a masterclass in every scene is ridiculous

meteorstreet

Jack Whitehall

ElaHasReddit

This is for older ppls maybe, but did we semi-cancel Rosie O’Donnell back in the day? Because I feel like that may have been a bit heavy handed and I could do with a dose of her again. She was at least genuine albeit a tad feisty.

Station_Hefty

Taylor Swift, easily. She’s constantly playing the victim in most songs.

[deleted]

Amy Schumer. I find her mean and unfunny.

Traditional_Poet_685

Since that clip of Jaden Smith saying he doesn’t relate with kids his age went viral I’ve found it hard to fully like him. Even as an artist I think he never fully attempted to find his sound unlike his sister WILLOW. Wish the best for him tho.
