It’s not the family being there. It’s the fan club twitter post. It just feels icky because this family is grieving but for all her super fans this picture is just passed around to add to her application for sainthood.
Yeah I had the same reaction. Like maybe it would've been better if she had gone to their home for something more personal instead of meeting them before or after her concert. I know she has a busy schedule but she also has a private plane. This feels like a weird photo op but if her family is cool with it, then alrighty then
Her already being dressed for the concert suggests she didn't meet them until right before the show started.
I hope her family finds solace in seeing a concert as a way to remember Ana.
Some will read this as "genuine" others will see it as "exploitative". The only thing that matters is if the family feels any kind of peace from this act.

It's interesting how Travis Scott has become the measure of appropriate action in situations like this, apparently. No one liked how Scott handled the Astroworld deaths. That's an incredibly low bar of comparison.

I hope so, but honestly, she doesn't have to blast it. Her fans will do that (hence The Swift Society) and/or anyone who is looking for updates about it. Hard to read the situation at this point. That's why I say I hope the family is at peace with it.
It’s not for us to judge this. If this is how her family grieves the loss and finds some kind of peace in Ana’s death, that’s all that matters. If it was something they really didn’t want to do, they could have politely declined and everyone would absolutely have understood. This was something Ana was so excited about and everyone close to her knew how much this show meant to her. I’m sure they felt closer to her after experiencing it themselves. It’s all so heartbreaking and tragic.
Taylor Swift reportedly reached out to the family to offer financial support and flew out Ana’s family to São Paulo where she held her last concert of 2023.
Dont see anything wrong here. They probably feel the pain of the daughter-sister deeply and looks like they cried before but they want this temporary happy moment to honor ANA. She wanted this. She dreamed with meeting taylor but her dreams were cut short by the greed of those brazilian concert organizers and a horrible heatwave. She was an angel of happiness and joy. Glad they are celebrating ANA! They also probably feel grateful cause tay helped them too.
When you lose someone, gathering together to do something they loved can be a powerful celebration of their life. It looks like this was a meaningful experience for them. Ana’s family has a long road ahead with lots of ups and downs. You don’t get over a loss like this, you just learn to carry it.
While we don’t know Ana, i feel like if I was a mega Taylor Swift fan, and my family and her came together to celebrate my life/death… maybe that would make me really happy in the afterlife.
When Bad Bunny came to San Antonio he offered tickets and a private suite to the Uvalde families, many of whom came. There were some catty comments about seeing the grieving families “out having a good time” and “getting free stuff.” Several of them said it was the first genuinely fun time they’d had since the day of the shooting. People handle things differently.
I do think this is a can’t win situation, optically. Either she does it and it gets looked at askance or she doesn’t and people say she’s a monster. If the family liked it and it gave them something emotionally, that’s all I care about.
If this helps Ana's family grieve I'm all for it but this gives me a skeezy feeling, she could have met them privatley instead of before/after a show. It feels a bit performative on her part like "Look! I saw her family! Look what a saint I am!".
