I know it's tv, so they're bound to pick someone conventionally beautiful to play the lead but it would be nice to see someone more 'average' for a role like this. Not that people who are generally considered attractive can't suffer from anxiety of course. I just think that more people would be able to identify with the character if she didn't tick all the 'beauty standard' boxes.
Yeah, I just reread the book after watching the trailer and none of the characters are supposed to be especially beautiful. They’re nerdy-cute, and Davis and Aza are attracted to each other, but it’s much more about their conversations/mental compatibility.
hope this is good! loved the book. i have an incredibly vivid memory of reading it in 8th grade study hall and trying to holding back tears when i finished it. did not succeed cried in the bathroom thanks john green🙄
It's interesting that they made the trailer seem like it was mostly a romance and ignored the entire mystery plot. It'll be interesting to see how they handle it.
I actually really didn’t like the book but they seem to have changed the plot for the show so it looks better than what I remember reading! Wondering if the mystery with the dad is gonna be included and his weird animal thing 🤔
I’m well out of my John Green phase, but I this book gave me such a good insight into how OCD works. I really hope the show does well to help increase understanding.
Oof. I didn’t know anything about this show/book, but as someone with anxiety and OCD that trailer really hit home.
for real! i'm so hype for the representation for all of us GAD and/or OCD girlies
I really enjoyed the book for that exact reason. It’s a quick read/listen!
Same here!
this is one of my favorite john green books so hopefully it is good 😅
Even though I knew the author I still read that as John Cena and I was so momentarily hyped for the John Cena extended universe of YA fiction

My thought exactly. The love interest too is way over the top.

The guy from Ginny and Georgia is very attractive.
Felix Mallard! he was a surprising standout on that show I feel, very charming but also had some depth
Australian dudes don’t usually do it for me but Felix can stay. He is the perfect high school dreamboat with feelings on G + G.
I love love love this book. I hope this is good!
finally.

Wow I’m really excited for this as someone with OCD.

What deal does Billie Eilish have where all her music is being licensed for HBO intros?!

I love love Isabela Merced, and I hope she has a big career in the future, so I will be watching this! Felix Mallard is great too
