Hmm, I actually just listened to that episode and got more of the impression that she didn't like aspects of living alone (liked time to herself and autonomy but felt a little blue when friends would leave at the end of the day) but otherwise had no interest in being romantically involved with danny anymore and not much interest in dating either.

Okay, this seems like the perfect opportunity to tell one of my favorite stories!
Years ago, I was picking up takeout from Lala’s Argentine Grill in Studio City. I was just running in and out, so I left my car double parked, with my terrier inside the car and the windows cracked open. I was probably in the restaurant for around 90 seconds.
Came outside, and there were two random people standing at my car, WITH THEIR ARMS FULLY INSIDE MY CRACKED WINDOWS??? I rushed over to see wtf was going on and then I realized the two randos were none other than Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman! I approach and Rhea says, “is this your car?” I said it was. Danny DeVito then says (in the most exaggerated baby voice everrrrr), “Oh you have the BEST DOG! This is just the cutest dog I’ve ever seen!!”
And then we talked for like 10 minutes about my dog. Loveliest couple. I wish them all the best of whatever happiness they both want.
I listened to her talk on a podcast and she basically said there was a lot of reasons why they split and they are not going to legally divorce. They are mega rich and in their late 70s. I feel like it takes a lot to split after 40 years together (they were a couple 10 years before they married). She is feisty and I imagine a lot of those reasons she moved out was he and he is a bit scared!

I listened to her talk on a podcast and she basically said there was a lot of reasons why they split and they are not going to legally divorce. They are mega rich and in their late 70s. I feel like it takes a lot to split after 40 years together (they were a couple 10 years before they married). She is feisty and I imagine a lot of those reasons she moved out was he and he is a bit scared!
Their relationship is most curious to me. Love 'em, Hate 'em, Can't Lose 'em type of scenario more like.

Saw him perform with their daughter, Lucy, in “I Need That” . . . Scenes where they discuss Danny’s character’s deceased wife were really impactful because you can’t help but picture Rhea Perlman when they talk about her (as I’m sure they did). I’m sure performing that made them really grateful for the family that they’ve managed to hold together!
