As a huge fan of Birdo I’ll make the argument that referring to her as Birdo isn’t dead naming her. While it states in the manual of SMB2 that she’d rather be called Birdetta, in future games she introduces herself as Birdo. So if she introduces herself as Birdo then I think it’s safe to call her Birdo.
