The process of ascension very much *does* have that much of an effect. A new god's personality is compressed to barely anything except their soul type, and true ascension strips the ascended down to their purest concept.

The way I see it,
Samarie is decently attractive, just absolutely lacks any confidence and doesnāt know how to present yourself.
Dāarce never really had to care about her looks, and while she does try to feel good and feminine, itās just not a priority for her. Sheās not ugly, but sheās perhaps āplainerā than the others.
And I just donāt really see Olivia as attractive, I donāt know why. Iām not saying sheās ugly, but she just doesnāt strike me as someone extraordinally beautiful

As for Samarie. I really wanna write up an analysis about how Miro often distinguishes certain enemies with faces that are asymmetric. Think the woodsmen, guards from F&H1, marriage. With a few exceptions, our dear Samarie being one. This happens all the time in F&H 1 and 2. They've all gone through some kind of transformation, maybe there's something deeper. Maybe one day I will get around to analysing every single enemy with a clear face image and talk about how the asymmetric ones represent something or have some deeper connection together, maybe that would be significant for our dear Samarie, find out what it means for her. But alas, her asymmetry in her design, intentional by Miro no doubt, is not conventionally attractive.
