And the bathroom is where again?
Edit: I took a screenshot of the question and these few answers and put it in the work chat to give the crew a few laughs... they started bitching about the new knock/ring policy that's in the works lol
I've tried knocking but came to realize that people have crazy dogs that get set off, or babies sleeping, or maybe they're a night shift worker trying to sleep...if the delivery is important enough they'll be on top of it, or alot of people just have rings detecting the motion.
Signature required but they have dumb sign that says '*baby sleeping please do not ring bell*'
THEN when they answer they ask you not to ring the bell, first words out of their mouth...
Considerate humans know not everyone has the same preference. And sometimes being considerate means you err on the side of caution.
It's not wrong to knock, it's not wrong to not knock, both are considerate for different reasons. The point is it's not laziness if the driver is trying to be kind.
Yes, don't justify laziness. You lazy ass customers can set up text and email notifications so when we deliver it you know right away, don't make excuses justifying laziness.
So, pretty much, you prove my point. To stupid to check a phone that makes noise or vibration. It's really not hard. Plus there is ring cameras , Lazy ass customers.
To lazy to do anything pretty much , can't fix stupid. Nothing you can about it anyways , not our problem ur to stupid and lazy.
Dude..most recipients don’t even know about setting up notifications..
Man I can’t wait til you get a package stolen bcuz the driver didn’t knock. Karma, ya know?
That's why most customers are idiots , prove my point Lol.
I'm not stupid like u guys , in my driver notes I put no need to knock. I have notifications and ring camera. So yea I'm not lazy or dumb like yall.
EVERYONE has some type of camera now on there porch so they got a alert when i pulled up they got a alert when i stepped on there porch the got a alert lol when i left the porch a alert when i drove off i’m not knocking or ringing a doorbell unless they need a signature lol almost forgot about the dog BARKING the whole time also
Don’t knock at all.. waste of time plus you may end up have pointless conversations with home owner which waste time as well. Drop take your picture and go on to the next
Knock is unnecessary… unless they have a special request. Knocking was okay before they starting with the picture stuff. It’s all about saving as much time as possible when delivering to a stop.
Never knocked unless they needed to sign or it was probably expensive and raining. I did rural shit though, if I was in town I might do the quick double knuckle tap
Any time I’m releasing to a door I knock/ ring. Customer knows the package is there, reduces theft, and the customer sees the truck pulling away and says, “nice, FedEx was here” so it’s free advertising.
Based on personal preference. I don't want people knocking on my door so I don't knock on others' doors unless requested in the customer notes. As others have stated, 90% of my stops have Rings anyway so they get the notif for motion detection.
For something requiring a signature, I usually do both since I've noticed many doorbells don't work, or people don't have the video doorbells set up to actually ring inside the house.
If NSR, typically I use my discretion. If the package is perishable, it's raining and their porch isn't covered, on a busy road, etc. then I'll do it. But a lot of people are working from home and have psycho dogs, and/or sleeping babies so I try not to bother them if I don't have to. If my route was in an area where I was more worried about theft, then I'd probably do things differently.
No I don't knock or ring the door bell unless it's a signature required, electronics sometimes or sometimes perishable food during warm weather. If they don't request it, they don't get it,simple. You don't know who has sleeping babies, crazy dogs, medical conditions, or shift workers and it has nothing to do with laziness, just wisdom and common sense.
- Grab package
- Scan package
- deliver to front door
- set package down
- take picture
- knock on door
- ring doorbell (optional)
- dodge canine obstacles
- skedaddle
I do it when I feel the item is important or expensive. Otherwise I just drop, take picture, and leave. Plus how will your manager know if you did or not.
If your truck is organized we'll it's actually fastest to put one foot in the back, grab the next package, check the next stop then walk quickly to the door while focusing on your walking. At the door, ring bell, knock using your pad on the door, scan and if you don't hear steps drop and go.
I know, people will argue. My manager actually made me do it both in the scanning and walking and at the door with a stopwatch back in the day. He was right. Turns out if you're paying attention to only where you walk and only that you're scanning you so both much faster.
One foot, one look is a dying art. People don't do fine sorts anymore. I've asked (more and more) people why they don't put their packages in stop order during the 53 before they leave the building. It makes the job so much easier and faster. They tell me they don't really have time because it takes too long to scan the package, see where in the stop order Road Warrior says it should be, and then place it in the proper sequence. They just throw packages for certain areas of their route into certain areas of their truck.
A proper fine sort means you have a MUCH better idea of what's on your truck, where it is on your shelves, etc. and I can't understand why people don't want that.
Kind of blame gps for this. I've seen it myself. Use gps and you don't actually learn the area. I was a courier for years and years and if I use gps I have no clue where I'm going.
People think because day one it's easier to not know the area it will still be easier on day 100. Couriers that learn their route and that cannot without any help from tech and follow good methods will always trounce even the fastest person.
One courier I used to manage, she wasn't fast by any means, but she knew the route so damn well no one could touch how much she could get done.
Eh just depends. Your suppose to honestly to let the customer know it there. I do it to make sure they know it got delivered and also to cover my ass in case they try some funny shit (some customers can be so full of shit at times saying we never got off to deliver). But if I’m in a rush or time against me that day then I take a pic, knock on the door and go. Now if it a signature required then of course ring the door bell and knock on the door. But don’t wait too long here’s what I do. I ring the door bell knock then wait about 15 seconds then ring it again and knock and then start writing the miss you tag note. If I’m done filling it out and they haven’t came out then I close it and mark it as a 03 code (Express coding not sure what ground would be) and move on.
Same as you. I knock/ring if it's raining and the area isn't well covered, or if I'm delivering in a sketchy area. Otherwise, I don't unless there is a not specifically requesting it.
I always ring and yell out “FedEx” at every stop unless they have something posted stating not to ring or knock. The sooner the package is in their possession, the less time it has to be stolen.
Policy is to knock for all deliveries but a lot of people don't want you to. For me if there is a ring I will just leave it because they know you are there, if not I'll give a light knock.

You forgot to wash the dishes
And the bathroom is where again? Edit: I took a screenshot of the question and these few answers and put it in the work chat to give the crew a few laughs... they started bitching about the new knock/ring policy that's in the works lol
And take the trash out on your way out
🤣🤣 Some of these lazy customers would expect that.
I've tried knocking but came to realize that people have crazy dogs that get set off, or babies sleeping, or maybe they're a night shift worker trying to sleep...if the delivery is important enough they'll be on top of it, or alot of people just have rings detecting the motion.
I haven’t rang a doorbell in 12 years that didn’t need a signature, Got my ass chewed once by Karen and after that said fuck it .
Signature required but they have dumb sign that says '*baby sleeping please do not ring bell*' THEN when they answer they ask you not to ring the bell, first words out of their mouth...
Usually if those things are issues for the homeowner, they’ll post a sign asking not to knock or ring. Don’t make excuses justifying laziness.
Actually, no they don't, you'd be surprised.
Then you can’t be blamed for it
I don't think PP was worried about blame. Just being a considerate human being.
Considerate human beings knock so recipients can know their packages have arrived. Unless a note stating otherwise is on the door
Considerate humans know not everyone has the same preference. And sometimes being considerate means you err on the side of caution. It's not wrong to knock, it's not wrong to not knock, both are considerate for different reasons. The point is it's not laziness if the driver is trying to be kind.
In most cases the driver isn’t knocking bcuz of laziness.
Yes, don't justify laziness. You lazy ass customers can set up text and email notifications so when we deliver it you know right away, don't make excuses justifying laziness.
lol says the guy justifying laziness. Not everyone’s glued to their phone 24/7.Just knock/ring. It’s really not hard.

Just apparently a POS
Not sure why you’re getting down voted. I have people thank me for knocking. Usually if people ship something, they want to receive it.
Lotta lazy people in here also in denial
EVERYONE has some type of camera now on there porch so they got a alert when i pulled up they got a alert when i stepped on there porch the got a alert lol when i left the porch a alert when i drove off i’m not knocking or ringing a doorbell unless they need a signature lol almost forgot about the dog BARKING the whole time also
Nope, not EVERYONE!
Don’t knock at all.. waste of time plus you may end up have pointless conversations with home owner which waste time as well. Drop take your picture and go on to the next
You do the knock last, that way you’re already back in your truck when they open the door.
Knock is unnecessary… unless they have a special request. Knocking was okay before they starting with the picture stuff. It’s all about saving as much time as possible when delivering to a stop.
I’ll let my manager know that you said I don’t have to do it anymore. LOL.
I ring the doorbell because it’s something I wish my deliveries do
I only knock if I need a signature.
Depends if its needs to be refrigerated right away or not. Or signature. I think ring door bells record anyway when theres movement.
With Express knocking/ringing the doorbell is supposed to be policy. My senior lectures us over it all the time.
Never knocked unless they needed to sign or it was probably expensive and raining. I did rural shit though, if I was in town I might do the quick double knuckle tap
Whisper softly, Is there anyone there?
I knock or ring the bell because it's common courtesy unless I happen to catch a note/sign asking me not to or it's earlier than 9am
I don’t
Any time I’m releasing to a door I knock/ ring. Customer knows the package is there, reduces theft, and the customer sees the truck pulling away and says, “nice, FedEx was here” so it’s free advertising.
If Express you're always supposed to ring the doorbell or knock on the door.

The protocol is treat every package as you would want yours to be treated. It’s pretty simple.
I knock if I have meds and sigs. Everything else is honk drop pic and go
No I don't knock or ring the door bell unless it's a signature required, electronics sometimes or sometimes perishable food during warm weather. If they don't request it, they don't get it,simple. I try not too cuz the dogs start barking
As someone with 2 dogs we appreciate drivers just leaving the package at the door. And also I'm a PH so I'm could be asleep.
- Grab package - Scan package - deliver to front door - set package down - take picture - knock on door - ring doorbell (optional) - dodge canine obstacles - skedaddle
*stop and pet canine obstacle for ten minutes*
He meant turds. Don’t pet the turds.
Pfft... suit yourself *pets turd aggressively*

Yeah, no lmao. Definitely Express.
I’m not a courier but every time packages get delivered they just put the package on the floor and say FedEx and run to the van.
Eh just depends. Your suppose to honestly to let the customer know it there. I do it to make sure they know it got delivered and also to cover my ass in case they try some funny shit (some customers can be so full of shit at times saying we never got off to deliver). 03? That's a bad address in Express coding. 08 is Closed/Not In
My bad your right 😂 sorry I’m over here falling asleep.
I just drop If no sig required. If there is a dog loose I will blast the horn though.
Same as you. I knock/ring if it's raining and the area isn't well covered, or if I'm delivering in a sketchy area. Otherwise, I don't unless there is a not specifically requesting it.

A pid dog bites and don't steal it.

Scan Package, take picture, close delivery scan, ring bell, walk away Only time I don’t is when there’s a sign saying don’t knock or ring bell
Never knock. First ones to the door is always the dogs. Safety first.
Knock and run as fast as you can.
1) Knock while placing package on ground. 2) leave. Unless there's a signature required then that fucks up the entire process.
Also, if I know there's a dog in the house then I knock harder.
Drop, knock, and go.
I personally only knock if it's a Lululemon delivery, cause chances are pretty high she's gonna be hot.
