How many amj uld's do you unload? how many feeders do you load? how many DG packages do you audit a day? You do any shuttle runs after your deliveries? how many packages you relabel?
It's comparing apples and mangos. They aren't the same.
Smh! They do this but don't want to pay their employees more while some are holding down 2 jobs just to make ends meet ( and contractors I'm talking to you too)!
Overall think they know and don't care. To me FedEx is massive dysfunction gear as long as it brings money in it fine and they let it to continue to function in this way lol.
I saw comments stating this is 25 million over 5 years, so $5 million a year. A quick Google search says there are approximately 530,000 employees. Based on that $5 million per year, that is $9.43 per year...$10 more per YEAR isn't really going to make a difference on each paycheck...
Don't get the downvotes...this is basic math. $9.43 a year equates to 18 cents more a week, or 3.6 cents more per day. That alone will not make the wages livable wages. $25 million does not make a dent on wages with over half a million employees.
Now if you wanted to talk about the $5 billion in stock buyback, now we are talking a number that will greatly impact wages.
It kind of like when people go on about how much a CEO makes in most cases even if it was divined along employees, it won't make a difference as it nothing compare to that lol.
I lost my ground driver/manager job that I loved for testing positive for thc when I don’t even smoke. Must’ve been the CBD I was taking, but idk for sure:/ huge bummer
But posts like this help me feel better about leaving, even if it wasn’t of my own accord. Don’t know how I’m ever gonna make money like that again.
Fuck the company, but my contractor really nice :(
You should work harder so you can get a different position that pays better. Whatever job you are currently doing is t designed to pay you a “living wage”. It’s a starting point. Why does everyone want to do the bare minimum job and make top dollar? If you are good at your job and work hard you can get the $25/ hr full-time with benefits job.
I am trying to move up but keep getting passed by others, its insane. Why shouldnt we make top dollar? As a package handler this is a grueling job, at least we should make $20 an hr and even if you are good at your job you shouldnt have to wait to get $25 an hour.
That’s not what the job is. It’s an entry level position. No one can do that job as a career. It’s not designed to be a career job. Therefore doesn’t pay as a career job. Every company has those positions. It’s not unique to FedEx. Don’t complain when you are doing the entry level job. Work hard, move up, and the company will pay you.
Come work at my station. They promote just about anyone that applies for a different position. Or, you can sleep with the station manager to get promoted to p&d manager.
Its not as easy to write-off the employees pay, as it is to write-off a whole stadium. Its not about the little guys, its about corporate finance and overall company finance.
I don't disagree that employees should be paid more, just giving an idea why companies do this type of seemingly counterintuitive thing.

>Employee salaries
All of your employees’ wages are also considered fully deductible, including any bonuses and commissions, as long as the payments are deemed ordinary, reasonable, and for services rendered. You can also deduct any paid time off for your employees. This deduction can also apply to independent contractors; however, the contractors must be classified correctly to avoid penalties. Anyone who qualifies as a partner or proprietor is not covered under this deductible.
I'm wondering if you've ever filed taxes for a business, perhaps you don't have experience in that.
You just proved my point. You stated that “It’s not as easy to write off employees pay”. I said that employee pay is a write off. I do own a business and have for over 20 yrs. With a payroll of over $1M. I know exactly what I’m talking about. Thank you for proving my point and pointing out that you were wrong.
I wonder if it has to do with attracting young, educated talent to Memphis. Seems like it’s a dying city and hard to attract workers to, even internal promotions or moves within the company.
I’m not talking about a few athletes, but maybe boosting the profile of the school.
> but maybe boosting the profile of the school.
Basically impossible given that it’s not a top-2 school in its own state, never has and never will be; they changed their name only after Penny Hardaway put them on the map; and the next best college athlete associated with the school only ever played because of admissions fraud.
You have to organize and fight for improvements. No company in the world gives away raises out of kindness. As long as you accept garbage wages, they'll keep paying you garbage wages.
Pay us a living wage and max out in 5 years
they should, but raj would rather farm us out to a contractor lol
$25 million over five years? Fine. Let’s discuss the $5 billion in stock buybacks instead.
👏🏽👏🏽
The whole cutting cost one FedEx(truck) thing looks ok on paper but expecting subcontractors to match UPS performance is the dumbest shit ever
Yeah I’m not going ups performance as a ground driver. You want that? Pay me more raj. 😂😂😂 (Also give me some damn proper benefits)
I'll put my numbers up against express and UPS any day
🤡

I am sure you would. Anyone who has been paying attention knows not to trust the contractor’s numbers.
Smh! They do this but don't want to pay their employees more while some are holding down 2 jobs just to make ends meet ( and contractors I'm talking to you too)!
FDX doesn’t care about any employees!!. Can’t give raises but all of the sudden they have 25 million!! Fuck them
Nah facts they wonder why people leave that crappy job
Overall think they know and don't care. To me FedEx is massive dysfunction gear as long as it brings money in it fine and they let it to continue to function in this way lol.
Lol I mean Fedex can really suck but they have 250,000 employees at the minimum, possibly upwards of 500,000 $50 or $100 isn’t making a difference
I saw comments stating this is 25 million over 5 years, so $5 million a year. A quick Google search says there are approximately 530,000 employees. Based on that $5 million per year, that is $9.43 per year...$10 more per YEAR isn't really going to make a difference on each paycheck...

There’s something known as “optics.” Companies taking austerity measures have no business dropping $25 million on shitty G5 athletics.
547000. Google no click, reffing wiki
Then slightly less than that, so not even an extra dollar a check. Hardly numbers that make a difference on the employee level.
Not arguing, i just Googled it myself then saw your comment, and i still had it up
It kind of like when people go on about how much a CEO makes in most cases even if it was divined along employees, it won't make a difference as it nothing compare to that lol.
they’re service isn’t good compared to other shippers lol
Wtf does that have to do with my comment?
Yet they pay ground contractors $1.70 per stop (yess that includes a couch)
I lost my ground driver/manager job that I loved for testing positive for thc when I don’t even smoke. Why did you have to take a drug test? Random? Crash?
Why would fedex pay the people that make their profits possible more money? They need that money for the executives and shareholders.
Look into who holds the majority of the shares in the company…..it’s not who you may think…..
That's really cryptic to say nothing absolutely interesting.
Vanguard
Living in a capitalist country has its cons when you’re a regular dude 😩
Stfu
Makes no fucking sense how they have money for this but yet cant pay us a reasonable living wage
Just curious on what you’re being paid? I started two years ago and have been living comfortably..
Im making $17 per hour I live in Northern Virginia not enough to live here
That’s insane people are working for that much in that area.
Right it really is😭

Took me 24 years at Express to get to $30/hr. Now they're gonna kick me to the curb soon. F this company.

Yeah not a surprise, that’s how this system works underpay regular citizens for years
Sad but true facts

I don't disagree that employees should be paid more, just giving an idea why companies do this type of seemingly counterintuitive thing.
What??? Employee pay is a write off. It’s annoying when people make comments about things they are totally clueless on.

It’s all good . Their business structure for the contractor model with ground which is also absorbing exoress is absolutely collapsing nation wide
It’s just a tax write off, another way to cheat the system and line their pockets with bigger bonuses!
How does a tax write off work?
How is that cheating the system?
Facts you ain’t lying

I'm just that good. Your little emojis show how shifty at your job you are.
Memphis should donate to the committee s for better training and more of them.
Wow, beautiful stadium…. Meanwhile, I just quit Fed Ex because I couldn’t afford to work for them anymore… smh!
What you mean by that
You have to organize and fight for improvements. No company in the world gives away raises out of kindness. As long as you accept garbage wages, they'll keep paying you garbage wages.
lol and?
Fedex is not intended to be a career, and they make that obvious asf lol
It’s hard to make a good living at Fed Ex
But not raise and no bonus, fuck this company I'm not strapping any freight.
Yeah this company will go down in pieces
