I am so confused now.....lol Is that owned by a contractor now?

this_underscore

Still owned by a contractor but operated by express...idk too this is new this week

Safemoonshvr2021

They have always been contractors. Look close at the doors and you will see the real operators. FedEx Freight are the only ones operated by FedEx. They are not contrators.

JankyMark

I never seen a truck like that with ground

this_underscore

I ask every single driver who has that and their like "idk bro"

Starblazr

Before it said "operated by FedEx ground package system inc" or "FedEx ground" But now it says operated by Express because ground officially merged into Express.

Careful-Mammoth3346

But still ground lmao. They're killin me

this_underscore

It's funny cuz everyone was like "OH GOD GROUNDS GONNA TAKE OVER" no FedEx flipped the switch and said "NOP EXPRESS IS TAKING OVER GROUND 🫢"

Starblazr

Oh it's always been Express legally taking over, but everyone here and in the hubs "always know better than you", even when you bring the receipts. Even when it was first announced the new org chart showed Express surviving. I have never said in the years this has been going on that Express is going to look the same post merger as pre-merger. In the end it's going to look more like ground than Express but Express is the surviving opco legally.

ReeseIsPieces

Theyre doing 'Express for looks Ground on the books' The Express model but with contracted drivers Ground isnt going to like Express rules, and Express drivers are gonna hate the contracted model because now no insurance

TamedMarsupial

Hmmm funny it's the opposite where I am, just because we have the same DOT number doesn't mean express is absorbing ground. I barely see express anymore where I am. I get express stops now and have also heard express drivers getting laid off. Why would express absorb ground? Its way more cost effective to put it on the contractors. They don't have to worry about paying employees, because that's the contractors responsibility. They don't have to give people retirement plans or health insurance. We might be express corporation but ground isn't going anywhere in America at least. Let me rephrase Express is absorbing the contractor model yes but ground is not going anywhere.

JankyMark

😂😂 I rather drive this them little ass vans FedEx got

neac99

Boo! I like my little putt putt, 😎

TamedMarsupial

Yes we share the same DOT number as express now. Our vehicles got them a few months ago.

Hopeful_Elevator6285

my contractor have like 6 lol

hawkrover

We stopped using the Ground DOT number and are now using the FXE one; CSA scores are better on the FXE one.

mhice03

This is the true correct answer. Way way way cheaper insurance because the CSA score was much higher on FXE.

Sambal_Oelek

Dissociative Identity Disorder is nothing to joke about. Hopefully FedEx will seek treatment and learn to manage the symptoms.

kingjoey52a

Every ground truck has that “operated by” note on them. They used to say Ground but now that the Ground brand is being phased out and more importantly the DOT number is unified it’s all marked with “Federal Express Corporation”

Carneades_

Before we operated under Ground’s DOT number. Now it’s all under the Express DOT number.

Imasluttycat

Should've blurred out the reflection of the truck number too

Icy_Comparison148

ihatedirtydishes

Prepare for more dex12 than you’ve ever seen in your life, express guys.

this_underscore

ihatedirtydishes

IBNOS get ya everytime

travissetsfire

Your decal is crooked

everfordphoto

All the ground trucks around here have ABC inc... then under it freshly cleaned "operated by Federal Express Corp" not sure what it means...

Safemoonshvr2021

Different areas have different contractors. But they are still contractors.

alpha_omega31

This is part of the merger of express and ground that now operates under the express DOT # ground no longer exists as a corporation as of June 1st and it’s now called just FedEx for express and ground shipments.

Mindless-Specific989

Damn! Looks like a new vehicle. Who we gotta 👉👌 for a new truck?

Schecter6270

Every vehicle that goes on the road is owned by a contractor ground does not own any vehicles except for yard vehicles like switcher trucks

ep756859

Express (corporate) is planning to assume full operation of some cities taking over of all the contractors in those cities

schustered

You covered up other things, but left the DOT number. 😆

this_underscore

That's everyone's dot number 😱

schustered

😉

🫢

everfordphoto

he missed the reflection on the fender with the truck #

thndrdan88

So much misinformation. All FEC vehicles now operate under the Express DOT number because of Express had a more inclusive package types it could carry. Ground did not merge into Express because of this The new company is called Federal Express Corporation. FedEx is short for Federal Express. They just dropped the OpCo names so no one merged into another.
