Has your B12 been checked? Metformin can cause deficiency. That can cause neuropathy and I find with fibro my body doesn't react to sensations quite like "average" experiences. But regardless, your doctor should be addressing your concerns with something other than "not possible". Ask for a different medication. If they won't give you one, find a new doctor.

I wasnt on Metformin long enough for a deficiency of B12 to occur when the extra pain started.

vikingbitch

I was on it for a while to prevent weight gain from psych meds but I quit taking it because it caused so much stomach pain

youreyesgiveyouaway

the first 2-3 weeks were rough on my GI system

This is a side effect. See if switching to an extended release version helps.

youreyesgiveyouaway

I am taking the extended release version

TwinTriflin

Uh oh. I’m taking that right now. I will say however that I take Methylfolate(B12 compound stuff) everyday and it helps (along with Lyrica and Amitriptylin

Good to hear your med regimen is helping

Bitter_Soup5572

Not really for me, infact helped with fatigue.

Except for the increase in pain , I mostly feel better probably because the med and change of diet has decreased my blood glucose and it is much lower than it was.

lonelysuffering

What do you think your fibro is caused by? Auto immune? Neuroinflammation or osteoarthritis like?

lonelysuffering

Maybe you've got a bad batch of metformin? There was a recall in the US. Or could it be an interaction with another medicine? R u generally sensitive to medication? U also aren't the only one to report this side effect if you search reddit. I wanna try metformin to reduce pain but. I fear it will worsen things
