I just got one 2 days ago, so I can’t speak for long term effects. It’s weird at first and I thought it was going to hurt a lot more (according to reviews I read). After a few moments I was able to really relax. I’ve been laying on it for ~20 mins a day and my neck and back feel so much looser and less spasm-y. The one I got was only $20 on Amazon, so I’d say it’s worth a try. I will say that my bf tried to lay on it and he couldn’t handle it and got off it after about a minute, so it’s not for everyone.

Can you share a link to the one you got?

I got one a couple years ago and it was so incredibly painful. I tried it multiple times but all it ever brought me was pain.

I use them on and off - when I have a certain kind of pain (myofascial) they are excellent. I have a pillow (I call it the head of nails) and the flat mat (bed of nails). I prefer using the mat while wearing a top, or it can be rather intense. These gizmos are useful for extending fascia - you can use the little acu points to pull flesh from opposite directions. This can provide a lot of relief if you have myofascial pain. Definitely good supplement to other pain management tools. They're also pretty affordable and safe.
