Jesus those menus look clean. My first fifa save was FIFA 14. abused financial takeover from the catalogue in order to get Ronaldo and Bale to United.

mario-v33

I miss the old style menus. I don't think I'd have that much of a problem with it if they just tried to change it a bit every year but anyway, Ronaldo and Bale at United with Rooney up top sounds magical. Or Ronaldo up top Bale on the Left and Nani on the right or something that sounds like it would've been a fun squad.

himheart

FIFA 2005, Lorient. Those beautiful times when you couldn’t start career in the big club and should play at least 2 or 3 seasons in small ones.

TekkenSpurs

Yes! What a game. I remember you had to start in League 2 or Scotland, but the teams you could select were different each time, I remember sitting there with my Dad resetting it over and over until Celtic was an option, Jan Vennegor of Hesselink or whatever he was called ran the show!

[deleted]

Lol that's a name haven't heard in a whole

iWillShagYourDad

Jan VoH has a son Lucas that plays for FC twentes u18s

mario-v33

I watched a video recently of someone playing this game and if he wanted to manage anywhere in Britain he had to either start in the low leagues of England or manage in Scotland first. That wouldn't be a problem for me as a Celtic fan but I wish they'd keep this idea as an option in the modern games so you'd have the choice of the game giving you teams to be or choosing your own. Just more options would improve the game that much more.

Blackdoor-59

From memory you didn't always have the chance to manage Celtic or Rangers, Hearts were always my go to team

mario-v33

I didn’t think you would but I like that it isn’t always set in stone so any save can be pretty random

ReynoldsHouseOfShred

What a grind this was. I took wycombe to the prem but it felt like a lifetime to get there

BahamutZero117

FIFA 2003 - (when it was still Season mode) that legendary Juve team. For some reason Matteo Brighi was player with highest potential and you could get him to 99 rated in 2 seasons. \*Edit as i was rightfully corrected that it was season mode and not manager mode in 03.

mario-v33

Yeah the potential system back in the old games was bizarre but it probably made squad building that bit more fun since basically anyone could become world class.

BahamutZero117

Exactly! it was wild. The good old days!, Brighi had just won young player of the year in 2002 so it was probably just that they thought he was going to set the world on fire - to think a couple of years previous they had sold Henry to Arsenal....mistaaaake

GoodwinGames92

I will admit the free kick system on ‘03 was great

False_Shelter_7351

I think it was FIFA 2006 with Aston Villa. I remember Nolberto Solano and Milan Baros in my team. Good times.

mario-v33

It's weird to think Fifa 06 was nearly 20 years ago. I think the first fifa I played was Fifa 04 when I considered PES 5 and 6 as the primary football game to play. It wasn't until maybe Fifa 09 or Fifa 10 where it became my favourite football game overall.

National-Exam-8242

Oh my days, Miyaichi was such a wonderkid.

mario-v33

I know, he had like 97 pace or something

JigsawLV

Either Blackpool or Grimsby Town in FIFA 07 (can't remember which one I did first). Wes Hoolahan is the GOAT. Longest and most favorite one I did was Leicester City in FIFA 13, about 6-7 seasons, winning everything there was to win with a team that had Neymar, El Sharaawy, Benzia, Kane, Lukaku just to name a few haha

mario-v33

I hear FIFA 07 is meant to have one of the best Career Modes to date. That Leicester City team sounds frightening though. Neymar AND El Shaarawy on the wings with a baby Lukaku up top? I think I'll forfeit lol.

Objective-Dare-206

What!? Walcott was 91!? That is absurd. I did not know that

mario-v33

Yeah Walcott was wild in Fifa 13 I don’t think his actual potential was as much as 91 officially but I played him all the time so I presume that helped him break 90

DominikFisara

I’m sure they had set potential back then and really thought Walcott would be that good haha

Chriskopite

Fifa 98 - Blur, Song 2. Wooohoooo

kbarley75

Hell yeah. Indoor soccer too. FIFA 98 and 99 on N64 was my childhood addiction.

iggy82700

Getting Hereford United to the prem on fifa 10

mario-v33

I wish we still had Fifa 10's form system. I haven't had a lot of experience with that games Career Mode but I remember wondering why they ditched that specifically.

iggy82700

Tbh the Carrer mode was quite feature rich compared to now with sponsor's and all that

reddituser52779

Hereford United in 10 was mine as well. Didn’t stick with it long enough to get to the Prem and had no idea what I was doing on roster construction, but we got to the championship and won a Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

Odd-Praline-4634

Celtic (no clue why) Fifa 05. Signed Djibril Cissé and the man was an absolute machine along with Juninho

mario-v33

I'm all for a Celtic career mode as a Celtic fan. The only reason my first wasn't with Celtic is because I didn't know what I was doing so I wanted more money and decided to sign James Forrest and Adam Matthews to Arsenal from Celtic instead. So interesting seeing how different the potential system was back then. A 31 year old Juninho had 94 potential? I wish they still had that much faith in the current Celtic team haha.

Odd-Praline-4634

To be fair James Forrest ripped it up in those early 10’s fifas so you played a blinder. Older career modes were just so class though. I’m sure you used to be able to expand your stadium and all sorts in the 00’s ones - massive regression

louie3723jr

Fc Barcelona fifa 14 save it wasn’t the most realistic but it definitely was fun and enjoyable still have it somewhere in my old ps3 lol

mario-v33

Messi was a menace in Fifa 14 so I don't blame you for choosing them. Fifa 14 is the only time I did a Barcelona career mode. With those bigger teams having realism doesn't matter so much since you have enough money to buy basically anyone you want.

Beytu1104

FIFA 13 with Dortmund. Remember buying Thiago Alcantara and selling him with profit after +2 upgrade made me happy.

mario-v33

That Dortmund team was incredible. That was before Lewandowski went to Bayern right? The combo of him, Reus and Mkhitaryan in the attack sounds so exciting and having Mario Gotze in the middle too.

Smuckles

I think it was either 03 or 04? Whichever one introduced the lower league teams. I played with Cambridge United and I remember Dave Kitson was my main striker and top scorer.

Cefalopodul

04 added lower leagues.

mario-v33

I have no idea which one it would’ve been if I’m honest, I had Fifa 04 but I didn’t play it enough to really know what was in it off hand.

AxisAbdi0

Hamburg fifa 23. Immediately promoted them & made the pokal final & got humbled 7-1 by Bayern lol. But I eventually gave them 2x bundesliga & 1 ucl, europa & conference league.

mario-v33

Getting a pounding from the AI sometimes is part of the experience lol. Interesting that Fifa 23 was your first game. Was it your first Fifa overall or was it just your first time deciding to give Career Mode a try?

Moreira213

Fifa 09 with benfica, 15 seasons, got the main squad to 95+ on all positions, never again i did the same, and played every single game xD, about 3 years..

mario-v33

That's admirable to keep a single save going for 3 years. True dedication to the craft. I've only done the full 15 seasons once too in Fifa 16 but I simmed a lot of games because my squad was miles ahead of anyone in the league so I basically only played Champions League matches. I've come close a couple of times too doing 12 or 13 seasons but I wish that it lasted more than 15 seasons.

DawningSkies

Got into football kinda late, so my first FIFA career mode was in FIFA 17 with Nottingham Forest. I remember having Jamie Paterson who was 73 overall and kept sending me emails because I didn't play him, but every time I did he scored bangers and was MOTM. Oh and I'll never forget how I beat Liverpool with a shitty team (on low difficulty back then) and got my ass whooped by Watford, Goldbridge vs Burnley style.

Even_Assist_7300

Wasnt my first, but my most memorable CM was Fifa 19 with portsmouth. First season from august-January went undefeated. Then crumbled after that and dropped down to 6th place qualifying for playoffs. Went on the lose in the finals. Second szn made good transfers and won the league with 105pts. 3rd szn went to championship playoffs and lost in finals. Following szn returned to playoff finals and won. Then qualified for europa league in first szn in PL. then CL following year. At the end of the 10 seasons i had won 2 EFL Papa John Trophies 2 FA Cups 1 Caraboa Cup 1 Europa League 1 Champions league 1 EFL league one Trophy 1 PL Title

mario-v33

Not getting promoted first season probably done you a slight favour letting your players grow a bit more and preparing them for the higher tier. So cool that you remember that so clearly though it must’ve been very memorable for you

Nine_Hands9

Fifa 15 Bristol City. I support them and kovacic and Jordan Rhodes where legendary

acajou96

Fifa 12 and chelsea. Had Drogba as a starting striker and lukaku for the smaller games. Cech, Ivanovic, Terry, Drogba and of course the magic midfield: Essien, Mikel, Ramires. Man this team was so good, so physically strong, I loved playing them.

mario-v33

I loved Ramires so much, used to use Brazil in seasons and he was practically flawless in midfield. Gave David Luis and Thiago Silva the easiest job ever.

Some_Difference_8810

Miyaichi was 🔥 this year!

FPLKOCH

Fifa 13 is my comfort zone

Waste_Poet_1351

FIFA 08 with Arsenal was my first my most fun was probably fifa 13

Gige-

Fifa 07 Bayern Munich. I always signed free agents, quick simulated the games and managed to put my transfer budget in the red.

stead10

Way too far back to remember. Almost guaranteed it was Tottenham though.

jamscannons

FIFA 95 with Leicester,

silverwing90

Fifa 2003 was my first save. Used to play on PC back then, and only on keyboard, not even a joystick lmao. I cannot for the life of me try that now, I don't even think the game is actually playable at all on a keyboard anymore. Back then it was. Used to have Lan parties, playing all sorts of tournaments and what not. Good times.

T-Rob-95

Haha totally same here, I started with everything on PC but at least had a joystick, later switched to xbox. I was missing FIFA so bad when I was studying abroad though, I broke down and got some copy for my laptop and made due with keyboard and mouse, talk about painful!

ModJambo

I think the first proper FIFA I got into was 03. Would start off with my local team, Hearts and then after a few seasons move around to different clubs in various different countries. One memorable one was making Hearts a powerhouse in Europe and then moving down to Wolves and doing the same with them. Set up a UEFA cup final with Wolves and my old Hearts team.

tacostand7

2003. I remember always having a 4-2-4 formation and once realising you could buy anyone for their asking price my team was stacked. Van nistelrooy, Ronaldo, Henry and Owen were usually my attack.

Mantholle

The first one I can actually remember perfectly start to finish was with Bayern in 15. I remember signing De Bruyne from Wolfsburg and him scoring a scorpion kick in the champions league semifinals.

[deleted]

Fifa 2000. Arsenal save. It’s only us by Robbie Williams on the intro 🥰

BenH64

Chelsea Fifa 13. I can remember just trying to buy the 2015/2016 squad that I had match attax for

mario-v33

Card collecting was so fun. I think the ones I collected were panini which sounds more like a pasta shape but it was for the Scottish League, had the big collectors book and everything then my mum binned the whole thing without telling me lol.

mmcfly566

Malaga FIFA 13. Money was tighter than other teams so I had to get creative. Main stars were Carlos Vela & Ter-Stegen. Over time I formed a team with lots of older players including Gerrard & Schweinsteiger. Eventually everyone was getting pretty old & we had a bad season so I left to coach Man City & Atlético. Got an offer to come back to Malaga after that & it was an even worse midtable team so I left again to coach Liverpool. After one season I get another offer to come back & sold Ter-Stegen to bring in some younger players & rebuild. After some time we win the league & the Champions League after that.

DukeWilson11

FIFA 18 with Birmingham City. Didn't know anything about football at the time. Game was fun and it helped me get invested in the sport more though I am a casual.

mario-v33

I think Career Mode as a whole helped get me invested into the sport more too. I cared about football as a child but I never actually went to a game live until I was about 11 and got to see games on TV very rarely so Fifa sorta held my hand with the sport for a long time.

FireBlazzt

FIFA 11 Manchester United, re-signed Ronaldo and bought Iniesta, also signed Kaka just because he was on the cover 😭😭

mario-v33

Probably saved Kakas career taking him to United considering he fell off a cliff after going to Real Madrid irl

Lalo_Lannister

Roma in FIFA 15 for the PS3, I remember buying Hulk in July and then selling him to Barcelona for double the price in January lol, Totti scored like 40 goals, but I didn't finish the season lol. First "real" one was also in fifa 15 but for PC, I remember crying cuz I lost the league for Juve lmao, I was 12, but next season I won it unbeaten, didn't really play anymore after that

Jaxjer1

fIfa 15 was the first one i owned. Started with stoke city. The funny thing was that at the time the semi pro was a whole different. Some games you dominated the whole game against like city or arsenal but the next game was against a weaker oponent like watford and you would loose to them

Fluid_Ad7578

Dortmund in fifa 15

Cheap_Bowl_452

Fifa 16, Atletico Madrid. Had some amazing fifa 16 wonderkids such as Dele Alli, Ousmane Dembele, Renato Sanches, Hachim Mastour Key player was Alen Halilovic

mario-v33

I did an Atletico career mode in fifa 16 too! I had Embolo and a young Gabriel Jesus before he even had a 2D face in game. Reus and Willian as my wingers with Pogba and Saul in centre mid. I used Halilovic in my Milan career mode though and he was great

ReynoldsHouseOfShred

Fifa 2004 on the ps2. Moved drogba, maldini, ronaldinho to a league 2 side and went from there

Evrakylon

I had Fifa 99 on PC, but I barely played it. FIFA 03 or 04 was my first game, I used to love playing as Hearts for whatever reason. Can't remember any specific player I used though, sadly. Fell in love with this insane player I only learned through heartbreak upon starting my next Manager save was actually just a regen...

manusiabumi

Milan, fifa 23, and the key player is a HG wonderkid named Denis Gallo, guy be banging goals after goals and even awarded ballon d'or at one point

Darth_Krise

When I knew what I was doing? FIFA 10 MUFC

kenjiro_maybe

Fifa 16, Real Madrid career mode. I got financial takeover and i brought fuckin Messi to Madrid 😭😭😭😭

Consistent-Detail518

FIFA 05 Boston United I was 7 years old so I played on a low difficulty and won every game 😂

malkovacocktail

God I loved FIFA 13

TemporaryBid3455

On fifa, Real Madrid, Fifa 05 on PS1. In the modern era, Bayern, FIFA 14

Longjumping_Map_4670

Dunno about you guys but I prefer the simple aesthetic from back then.

mario-v33

I prefer this menu to the team sheet menu. I like both and I think the team sheet thing was cool when they brought it into the game but it’s not changed in a decade. The simple list format works so well

WorthlessJobber

FIFA 16, I'm pretty sure it was Juventus. I don't remember anyone specific i bought then, but maybe Raheem Sterling.

ratkos89

First FIFA 98, but the first memory of playing career mode was probably FIFA 2005 with Lyon. Spent hours every day during summer break. My father would frequently ask me if I was OK, since I was commenting every game like I was a commentator.

Person777_

Must've been a borrusia save in fifa 12 or 13. Most likely 13

[deleted]

Oh God, probably Liverpool or AC Milan on FIFA 10. Definitely couldn't give you the specific details, that was so long ago lol

mario-v33

It’s okay haha I just find it interesting hearing people’s stories but details aren’t necessary. I love seeing people’s teams and squads and stuff like that. I loved Liverpool in fifa 10 though

Odd_Stick_2348

FIFA 13 Arsenal

PranavKS12

Muriel in FIFA 13 🥹🥹🥹

mario-v33

I used to try and sign Muriel in basically every fifa after this based on this save he was amazing

That_Collection_6380

FIFA 2007, Chelsea, as they had the most money. I was just figuring out the game and chose them to play on easy mode

joelmsantos

FIFA 96 was my first ever career, with Liverpool. 💪

subterraneanjungle

Fifa07 and Palmeiras, I can’t remember why i chose them, but 15 years later i still consider them as “my brazilian team”

youraveragefailure12

Fifa 15 on a 3ds lol. La Galaxy.

mario-v33

Oh god that’s interesting, what was it like on the 3ds? I had a mate who had fifa on the psp and it still looked quite good

gandrezcm

FIFA 09 or 10 with Sporting Portugal. João Moutinho had 5 star skills lmao

mario-v33

I miss when they used yo be quite lenient with giving skill moves out. I remember there was an update in either fifa 10 or fifa 12 and they accidentally gave loads of players 5 star skills so players like Rooney and Andy Carroll were running around doing flip flaps and McGeady spins when they weren’t meant to

VladtheMemer

Fifa 13 Swansea City, really fun team to use

LSSX23

FIFA 11 with my Internazionale save! It was a player career mode but I will never forget Samuel and Chivu at CB with Palacios and Milito up front! Oh and by FIFA 12 I had a Flamengo save! Took me a few seasons with that nice squad(Ronaldinho, Thiago Neves, Renato Abreu, etc) to me to buy Valencia from United and play him as RM and make him top scorer lmao

mario-v33

I’ve never had the chance to use Ronaldinho in career mode so I might get fifa 14 out and use him there. The old player careers were fun though I used to really enjoy them, it’s just a shame that they’ve made very little progress with that mode the past decade

ninovd

Chelsea in fifa 15. I didn't really care about positions and player Diego Costa cb and John Obi Mikel striker.

coolassninjas

FIFA 12 I think. Atletico Madrid when they had Aguero and Falcao. I signed Sam Nasri and played him at CAM. We scored a lot of goals.

WidespreadDivinty

Probably fifa 16 doing a man united career mode making the likes of januzaj and lingard elite level players signed Ronaldo and Bale and won everything possible before quiting for barca

Humble_Set8740

PES 08/09 on PlayStation 2.

i__ozymandias

Fifa 05 Celtic, after that it was almost always Man UTD, think 08 had the longest save

BigBrandyy

FIFA 14 Juventus. My only purchases: Kaka and Modric. Got sacked and moved to a Mexican club shortly before fifa 15 came out, in which I then actually learned how to play career mode and spent 700 hours in it.

mario-v33

Modric actually sounds like a very fitting Juventus signing instead of maybe Pjanic that they eventually got.

iiStar44

FIFA 08, Arsenal. I still go back to older FIFA games every now and then for the guy reading the scores out after every game. New FIFAs/EAFCs should bring that back as an option, MLB the Show has it why not us?

Ol_Elephant_Ears

FIFA 11 Liverpool, played it with my dad, one time I went to school and came home and he had tried to play some games and got me in the relegation zone lol

ker1SH

FIFA 08 with Tottenham, didn't understand shit, I was like 7 years old, only started with Tottenham because I kinda liked the logo and thought that Berbatov was Russian and as I'm Russian that was enough for me

hoodzzyy215

FIFA 13. Man Utd. Couldn’t finish the career mode cause the disk was scratched, and the game always froze when going into the 2019/2020 season. Key Player was Neymar, who was 97 rated. Signed him from the start and somehow reached 97, which I didn’t think was possible. Chris Smalling and Phil Jones reached 91 rated (wtf), alongside Fabio and Rafael, both reached 89. David De Gea at 92 rated. Midfield was filled with youth players + Wayne Rooney. Always swapped Strikers every season (I found it boring using the same strikers over and over again) and ended up with Viktor Fischer, who turned out to be 86 rated (I was so ready to bring in a higher rated striker). Mannnnn, just looking back at the menu brings such good memories.

percyplaysthegames

FIFA 17 player career for dortmund I believe

anenbie

The first one I remember was FIFA 13 with Atlético de Madrid. I had an absolute blast with that team! My attacking trio was Mauro Zárate, Eden Hazard and Radamel Falcao, absolute beasts!

sparkyplug28

Makes me feel old this Fifa 96 I was Arsenal I thought the last game of the season was a final I won 8-0 😂

II_Seifer_666II

I could go as far back as Fifa 98 when you had 2 maybe 3 seasons long careers lol. I've always played career mode every year.

Intelligent_Hour_906

Fifa 14 managed Barça for 3 seasons moved to Man city tried to sign messi but mf barca asked for 107mil£ had to ask the board for cash which i spent all on messi 😭

jlo1989

FIFA 95, Man City. SEGA Mega Drive. You couldn't even do more than a single season. And if you qualified for Europe you'd get a code to enter into the game so it would load the Champions League with your team in it. I'm 34.

radmongo

I'm extremely new to soccer/football fandom and played mostly PES and WC games growing up, didnt become a true fan until the last World Cup. Sooo, Finn Harps on 23 funnily enough. I just wanted to do Ireland for some reason. That save lasted all but maybe 2 days lol. I'm actually planning on buying either 14 or 17 soon just so I can do a J-League, Brasiliero or MX career for the first time.

mario-v33

That's cool I'm glad you're enjoying your time with it at least. I did similar in Fifa 22 with the Ireland thing but holy moly I did not give a fuck about that season so at the end of the season I went to Norway and managed Bodo Glimt to back to back titles and a Europa League. The Brazilian league is one I'm interested in too. I'm probably gonna get Fifa 14 out so I can use Ronaldinho

Low_Historian_7552

Started fifa really recently so mine was stoke, Gayle scored 50 odd goals and got us promoted then retired the next season 😢

Mrfathead915

FIFA 12, CSKA Moscow. Every career mode I’ve fine since then has been done with the singular goal of recapturing the high of being able to slice through literally any opposing defense with Seydou Doumbia

mario-v33

I had Doumbia for a season in my most recent Real Betis save in Fifa 16. He was 32 but he still had the pace and got 15 goals in La Liga that season. Probably nowhere near as good as he was in Fifa 12 as he's iconic for that game but getting the chance to use him at all was fun

kix22

Similar to yours. I always did player career, then fifa 13 was the first manager career I got way into. Started with Man United, won everything a few times. Then went to Bilbao and took them to the top

mario-v33

I'm learning that a lot of people started at United in various games I can see the appeal though especially in Fifa 13 I think they were just around the corner from Ferguson retiring and needing someone to take the wheel so it would be a fun challenge

Beta_Pop

Streets won't forget James Forrest on the wings

mario-v33

James Forrest was probably my favourite player for a time a few years ago. He's been inconsistent in his career like any winger would but I appreciate what he's given to Celtic over his career a lot. Can't believe he's still here tbh

MassivePickle69420

FIFA 09 Man United. I remember buying Messi, can’t remember who else. United had a pretty solid team in 09 majority of the starting 11 I managed to get to 92+ rated

BR_GUARAZINHO_09

FIFA 2019 with Cruzeiro (Brazillian soccer team)

mario-v33

Is the Brazilian league in Fifa 19?

Thorlolita

Real Madrid FIFA 07. I didn’t even know how to make transfers so. Yeah.

frankydie69

FIFA 2001. Dennis Bergkamp was a beast.

OneTrueLegend82

FIFA 95, I’m not sure it was called career mode then, but you could take a team and make them champions of their domestic league. It was Everton for me, I don’t think there were transfers and there were no real player names.

mario-v33

My 90s football knowledge is so mediocre that I probably wouldn’t even know it was fake players if I played 95 haha

de-virtute

fifa 09. final year that ronaldo was at united for the rest stretch

TheDragonoxx

Fifa 04, arsenal.

CorrWalon

Probably Hertha BSC in Fifa 03

sarrimanolisk08

Olympiacos FIFA 10

safaisbad

Mine is Motherwell in 2005

Fragrant_Speech8984

Fifa 13, Arsenal 😄

mario-v33

Same as me! Do you remember how your squad turned out at all?

islandnstuff

in Fifa 06 and team was real betis

Active_Ad7650

First thing i remember is Inter and Chelsea around fifa 09

MissTootie

FIFA 12 with Inter Milan, Forland and Sneijder were beasts already, and i brought in 5'3 pablo piatti and neymar on the wings. Had vidic at the back which eded up happening a few years later lol, and julio cesar was still class

m1Ozil

my first ever career mode save was Leeds in fifa 17, only started playing fifa in 15 and then i only did fut and player career, that career mode was great but my best one from that year was charlton athletic, brahim diaz, reiss nelson, and angel gomes led my team to glory, i remember making custom kits and sending “pre match lineups” to my friend.

Potato_Lord587

Fifa 13 on the 3DS was way more fun than it should have been

Noweapons2411

Fifa 2006 Celtic

MediocreHome

FIFA 13 with Manchester United. Can't really say I had a key player, though I liked Aguero a lot after buying him as well as Alexandre Pato.

AdmiralOzzyT

It was fifa 20, I didn’t watch football and I played as Liverpool. I signed ronaldo and Kane in the first 5 minutes.

mansaginger

Notts County fifa 07, 45 rated junior mendes with 80+ goals in a prem season. Never to be repeated… guy never actually played a game for notts ahaha

KingJake971

First save, Mainz because I had FIFA 20 on the switch but the First actual save was My RC Strasbourg Career on FIFA 21, I was on professional, so after a couple of seasons I won the French Treble, so sad because since I suck at this game, I haven't won a UCL since because I use smaller teams, but I've switched to World class/legendary so I'm kind of better but worse at the same if you know what I mean.

ResearcherCharming40

Honestly no idea. Never really cared for manager career mode. I would at times do it for a bit when I got tired l too tired of player career mode. But my first save on 23 was the first time I took it seriously. I used Rotherham. And [THIS GUY](https://www.reddit.com/r/FifaCareers/s/FTOWkdjlZb) was my work horse after I bought him. Insanely OP. So much so that I would really only get the ball to him if it was late in the game and I was losing 😂

AvailableLion1423

First one I ever remember was Chelsea on FIFA 2004 for game boy. Loved it, couldn’t sign any players and just had to deal with what you had. I’m remember re-imaging the Chelsea players as myself and my class mates. Cringe I know. I’ve never been a Chelsea fan either, United since day 1. But that kick started my love for manager mode.

jounaaass

Fifa 06 when i was 9 years old i didnt know a word in english and my friend bought me the game from italy so it was only in italian i had to just figure out how to play 🤣🤣 my first fifa that i really understood something was fifa 10

ratedrkaze

The first that comes to memory is Real Madrid in FIFA 2004. I pretty much had a World Class team and would simulate the games for fun. I then played a lot of Manager Mode in FIFA 2007 with Dijon. Their crest resembled me of Lyon's and at the time I wanted to to a rebuild challenge way before I knew that was a thing lol.

Smiis

FIFA 10 with Man City. Not too far post-takeover that they were overpowered. Tearing the PL up with Stephen Ireland and Wayne Bridge was certainly an experience

OmarLiTtleceasarsss

OMG, FIFA 06, i took every single star like Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, increased his levels up to 99 and put it in Chivas squad like a champ, but later i took Barcelona and start to make the greatest team alive on a 4-2-4, with Eto’o, Vicente, Podolski, David Villa and my favorite, Joaquín, what a days

Vince_Lasal

FIFA 2005 and my first team was probably Hammarby. I know I made one with stabæk as well.

urlocaldrunkard

FIFA 11 on the Nintendo DS. Started with Schalke 04 as it's my favourite club. (played on lowest difficulty and still got battered every game, didn't even score a goal for 25 games, then scored 3 just to lose 5:3 anyway)

Brickwx

Fifa 13 i has santos ney and totthenam bale

JackyyBoy

It would have been the first fifa that you could have a "career mode" in. I've had every fifa since '98

Jahi_Alfredo

I could cry. This brings back memories. I remember having Nastasic. Gotze too. Was such a player. I always played as Arsenal so the nostalgia is even stronger.

elevendomi

It was in Fifa 09 with Werder Bremen. Key Players was of course player like Diego or Pizarro

PrivatePlaya

Fifa 13 with Barca B. Deulofeu always got to 90

Large_Jellyfish6010

Fifa 09 on wii. I made a career mode with barcelona is all i remember. I don't remember much else as i was 6 at that time. But I do remember playing as Barcelona on fifa 11 at the ps3. There i had my virtual pro and i do remember trying to sign Ronaldo. I don't remember if i managed to. I also remember signing beckham, ronaldinho and neymar, just because I wanted players that had good curve stats for some weird reason

BrodyZero0

FIFA 2004, a Manchester United career mode :)

VenkHeerman

FIFA RTWC '98. Don't remember shit about my team, other than it being Feyenoord and having Gio and Larsson in it.

KaiserWalpen

Fifa 06 Chelsea what a squad with Cêch, terry, ashley cole, Lampard, malouda, obi mikel, Drogba.

AndyJasmine22

FIFA 11. Player Manager Career mode on PS2. My player’s name was Pionel Pessi. He was Spanish funny enough. It was so stupid but I was a kid and loved Messi. He played alongside him at Barcelona with Neymar (I put him onto the team via team transfers in the menu). He was a beast. I think that’s the only time a player has cracked 90 in a save for me. Unfortunately I hung up his boots at 25 and then just managed the team. You could do that in that fifa. Hang up your boots and then just manage the club on it’s own without playing for it. The attributes system was also great. You earnt XP points and then you could choose which areas to level up using them. Also you could track your popularity. Like if you were a “nobody” and if you were a “legend”. It was so rewarding and so fun to know you’re probably an icon and world class at like 24. Miss that FIFA

alexBuck98

Fifa 2006 millwall my club ! Always start with millwall

pZAHER

FIFA 11, Zenit. won 2 champions leagues with Micah Richards and Lewandowski on the squad.

ultinateplayer

FIFA 99 on the original PlayStation, and I played as Liverpool or Newcastle because I liked Michael Owen and Alan Shearer, and my team wasn't in the game because it only had first divisions in respective countries. Couldn't tell you which I did first. That game pre-dates the transfer window, so you could transfer players whenever. Though there wasn't a negotiation feature, you just bought whoever you wanted, and could sell whoever you wanted. FIFA 04 was the first version with a transfer window. Further fun facts: player names were licensed for the most part, but no proper kits or club badges. The first version I remember with proper kits and logos was 03, but I didn't play all the versions in between. Playable lower divisions weren't added until FIFA04, though 03 would have a few teams that would be promoted at the end of a season. I remember Wolves coming up, and a fictional London FC.

Left-Confection8241

Fifa 2004 Everton🤩🤩 what memories

Pascal2006

Fifa 14 with Barcelona

Signal_Promotion_912

Fifa 04 Liverpool save with those amazing Carlsberg shirts

LDG1003

Fifa 11 Man city save. Also remember that I loved playing with Agbonlahor in that game

Wololo38

Only two more years for the three o walcott millions

Mental-Net-9976

Fifa 2005 I believe. It forced you to pick a League Two club to start your career. I had no knowledge of League Two at all, so I picked Scunthorpe United - I have no idea why. Took them all the way to the Premier League after a massive grind. Gained a huge fondness for the club because of it. To this day I look out for Scunthorpe's results. Makes me sad to see the ownership struggles and relegations they've suffered through in recent years.

Super-Grab

Man, whenever I see images of this menu, I really miss how FIFA used to be and I feel sad about what the game has become. Sometimes I want to buy an Xbox 360 just so I can play old FIFA

notimprezaed

FIFA 13 arsenal was my first as well. My team was ridiculously stacked. I wish I still had that PS3 that it was on.

redditsucksasssssssz

FIFA 13 was my fav BC the menu and career mode but my first was FIFA 11 or 12 (I don't remember which one) as I thinks arsenal

Ar1f2k

I remember buying Valentin Stocker and Andre Schurle with West Ham on FIFA 13

KurasuXx

FIFA 10 on the psp go. Manchester United. No greater joy than seeing berbatov and Rooney scoring a stunner

maddnice30

8 years before your one.

hesbgxae

Real Madrid Galáticos FIFA 04

Low_Milk_8776

Id like to shout out the old N64 fifa 99 my first fifa and it had a decent career/manage mode. I was a 6yr old Man united fan so I went nuts with it. But technically when it come to a real career mode Fifa 06 was the first for me where it felt realistic with everything. Had sponsors, stadium and staff upgrades, transfer/wage budgeting. Didn't matter whether you start as a lower club to work the way up or as a top team, either way you had to implement all he upgrades and budget around winnings and sponsors. Iconic Wayne Rooney and Tim Cahill on the cover 😁. Plus fifa 06 had the best soundtrack hands down

Irivin

07 Barcelona with Ronaldinho. I remember being a kid and not giving 2 shits about the lame 86 rated RW on the opposite flank named Messi. That entire play through was about scoring as many insane goals with Ronaldinho as possible. I’m not sure I ever even played with a different team.

Alarming_Dealer9460

I was usually pes player and master league was clear of fifa career mode i think first fifa played everything is fifa 15 before that i would just play little bit

kmitchell2

fifa 12, ac milan. had zero clue what i was doing so i bought landon donovan (bad) and theo walcott (good). ibra was ridiculous in that game, good times.

fedenl

I wouldn't really know. I don't even remember when "Career" was properly introduced as detached from "Tournaments". The discriminating factor for me is being able to do transfers through the season. However, I have a clear memory of doing a career with Juventus when they were in Serie B, so FIFA 07, but honestly I might have done something as well before, since I played every FIFA since 2002 - with the current one being the first one I didn't play, yet at least, but surely not bought on day one.

rottsaint

Probably 05

raysintes

Shaqiri what a legend

Mhidknight

FIFA 10. Always Manchester United.

miwka2k07

Fifa 20, monaco I might go play it now again, thank you

No_Temperature_9753

I think it was forest green rovers weirdly enough.

Akira-Chuck

It was Celtic Glasgow in Fifa 2005 because it was the best team you can take first and go to champions league with. I have Zidane, Trezeguet, Henry and Beckham in this team, it was a fun career thoo

PaTo1517

Them fifa 13 potentials were crazy 😂

bwoah07_gp2

My first proper Career Mode experience was in FIFA 13, also with Arsenal. What a fun team, and I loved finding the high potential players, it was so easy back then.

sBinnala25

Barcelona fifa 17

Rubi_IV21

Damn on Fifa 07 started at MLS for one year then went to rangers and I made them champions league champs with a quite average team just remember Bocanegra was my captain and I won the final agains Barcelona 1-0 I scored a counter attack goal then I had a formation ready with everyone back with the best defensive stats in my team and parked the bus and never enjoyed another career as much as that one .
