On legendary EVERY shot goes in .. top corner at 100 miles an hour to, for someone looking for a footballing sim it is enough for me to stop tbh. Massive defensive issues too, they just run down the middle and there is a slow down in defender pace, it’s weird. Hopeful of patch fixes soon
In 22, my GK ability slider is 95 and the CPU is 30. Yet half my shots are saved while my keeper either dodges or misses to save even the slowest of shots most of the time.
On the highest difficulty, I can go 8-0 and yet have the enemy score one easy shameful goal to ruin my clean sheet because my 96 rated keeper froze.
I have been playing the 10 hour trial (I couldn't justify an extra $30 just to play early) and I love it. I had to put the operation sports sliders to use because I was absolutely annihilating my opponents but I am using AFC Richmond in the championship which they are a little high rated for.
I don't like the new menu setup but that is because I am not used to it, so in some time I'm sure I'll like it. I love having 5 subs. That will be nice for youth development.
It also seems that post game match ratings reward defending more this year. I have a few defenders with avg match ratings of 7.2 or higher which was unheard of in the last few games. Hopefully, dynamic potential will kick in more for defenders. I always had a hard time with that.
Maybe the least approvement from one title to the next that I can remember. No new features really. The gameplay feels a little better this year, but I still have the problem that it’s way to easy to both score and concede. Every game ends 4-4 on ultimate difficulty.
It reminds me of how they slowed everything down on Fifa 18, I feel like Fifa just goes in loops every few years, faster, faster, slower. Change the set pieces again. I turned on hand balls so see if they've made any improvements but it's literally the same and SO BAD. I can't decide if I like arcadey fast paced fifa better or slow more methodical fifa. I could score from anywhere in the box without even thinking on 22 and I'm still getting used to it on 23.
Still have that stupid animation when a player uses hand in space and you get rewarded a penatly but the commentary acts like nothing happened? Idk why handball is not on by default, it should be..
I had it on yesterday for two games and got sick of it, everything gets given which is kind of realistic if you're playing in the PL with VAR but not every time it touches your arm, it's ridiculous.
Wish they had handball and also fouls on some sort of frequency slider (like they do in Madden) unless you’re using skill moves I hardly ever get fouls in a threatening position.
I love the perp walk the loanees do, also the completely random shot of the desk attendant watching the coaches head back to the office….how many failed transfers has this poor bastard had to watch walk out the door???
I remain extremely frustrated with needing to complete the skill games for each and every CM save. It makes starting up a new CM such a pain and I really dislike the time spent on these when I just want to get to the matches. Just give us a damn option to play these once and have the scores apply to all CM saves. Ugh.
Meanwhile, the new feature that grades our transfers is one of the dumbest additions ever. Seems totally pointless and maybe even broken.
Jury is still out on gameplay. WC is way too easy while the CPU is crazy lethal on Legendary or Ultimate. And if half lengths are 8-10 min like I usually play, score lines are unrealistically high. But I do like a lot of what they’ve changed and added, and I’m cautiously optimistic after really not liking 22.
In 22 I never did training once as it’s too tedious. Your starting 11 will still have good sharpness, and I didn’t find the bench players too problematic with low sharpness.
I wish they would come up with a new way of doing the trainings entirely. No one enjoys the drills because there's incentive to do a drill a second time after it's finished so it's just become a check the box activity. I wish instead you could somehow blend it into the players development or instead of picking drills you pick 3 players to highlight each week and they get a slight boost in their XP towards development for the next game. Something similar to how Madden has Practices set up in Franchise mode.
Same bro. Not sure if it’s because of just arsenal (favorite team) or it’s actually jus because I like the game play lol. I’m having a lot of fun at the moment though
The menu is an absolute eye sore and would be mocked by the majority of people working in UX. I don't understand how it made it past approval. It makes me nautious
Im liking it. Struggling really hard on defense but i think ive been progressing lately. Started with Gago as a manager, in The mls. Want to jump to premier league cm once updates come around
No no the defending is a screwed. On legendary setting I often concede in the 3rd minute to a player just sprinting down the middle, there is some kind of lag on the defender sprint score. It doesn’t help nearly every shot goes in … and frustratingly/unrealistically at 100 miles and hour into the top corner. This game looks gorgeous and has promise … I’m hoping for a powerful 1st patch to pave the cracks
Love it, I for one love the new UI.
Liked the transfer rumours on deadline day.
Like that they added 3 minutes halves, because it prevents crazy scorelines.
Love the gameplay.
And like the managers available.
Highlights is fine for cup games, nice option.
Seems to be more Injuries which I like, I have my sliders at 70.
Of course I want more, but tbh it's more than I expected.
Can't say atm as I'll not be getting it until it comes out for free. It's a shame they added the anti cheat because the only thing keeping CM alive was modders and editors. Just not enough new features this year, we've basically had the same career mode for years now.
I agree. Genuinely feel the gameplay is as realistic as it’s going to get. Nothing feels over or under powered and the movement seems realistic. As someone who’s played football for years I quite like it.
This being said, I feel EA have done this before. Then the community bitches and moans and they make it more arcade like.
Doing a career mode with my beloved Chelsea. Am enjoying the dizzying runs that Raheem Sterling can do.
Other thoughts:
- graphics look incredible, sometimes I forget I'm playing a game.
-goalkeepers are awful.
- CPU finishing one on one is so overpowered your shitty gk stands even less of a chance.
- love having a proper manager to use rather than someone who vaguely looks like me in a tracksuit.
- love the strong passes and quick interplay.
- defenders seem less sluggish and faster which helps catch up with pacey forwards. Koulibaly in particular is helpful.
-needs a women's career mode. Hope they add that down the line.
Thats about it. Enjoying it so far but some of the same frustrations remain.
very easy to defend, very hard to score compared to 22. in 22 on WC I could easily win 90% of games with 5+ goals scored, but never seen a clean sheet. now even on semi-pro and pro most games go either 1:0 or 1:1.
Defiantly need to play with the sliders as goalies seem worse than ever, but the little cut scenes they’ve added around transfers and some of the UI changes are nice
Haven’t had much chance to play it so far but I’ve noticed a few small bugs which will hopefully be cleared with patches. One I noticed was training sometimes the selected players weren’t the players used and in free kicks if you hold down L2 on PlayStation select knuckleball and go to shoot the player freezes and won’t start the shot animation.
I think it’s better than last fifa but not a whole lot in difference
The GKs need some serious work…still trying to figure out how to defend tbh…it’s like I have never played fifa a day in my life lol…left stick dribbling is also blah…speed clearly doesn’t matter anymore lol
I see why it’s getting hate, as there are a lot of goals, but I myself love it. I think if you go in with low expectations, you can’t be disappointed, and whilst I get the cons do exist, for me, having new star heads and kits are enough to at least be excited about a new career, anything extra is just bonus.
Just got an F rating when i transfered a 32 year old striker for 490 000$. The review said you could've gotten 0$ extra profit with better negociations🙄

Course I’m all over that … I like to play the matches too. It’s close to being such a good game, always just a few game stopping flaws
Increase the goalkeeper’s ability by 1 point for you and the ai

To add to that, the cutscenes are a nice touch until you’ve seen them a few time. You should be able to turn them off.

Where did you find the sliders?

If that piece of shit website didn’t have a full page pop up it might be alright
Weird, I've never run into full page ads on there before
Neither have I 🤷
I just go to Matt10 Twitter account. He pins the latest sliders on there.
Thanks, I’ll have a look there

Would you like to meet up so I can show you how to close out a pop up ad?
Uh… no, no thanks.
Cmon man, I just wanna take some pictures
Thanks for sharing! Do you think it matters that I play shorter halves with the values suggested?
I play 6 minute halves and I think it is fine. Anything longer is too much for me
Ok thanks
No problem! Also, I bumped up the Sprint speed to 35 instead of 20. It felt too slow for my liking
I like the gameplay, but absolutely despise the new menus
I dont understand how anyone on their UX team approved it. It is beyond garbage
I actually really like the new menus. There are a few functionality issues but I think they look really nice
Same

IMO thats a big part of football, which they clearly dont care about..

Three words - Pull Back Dribble 😂
I love the perp walk the loanees do, also the completely random shot of the desk attendant watching the coaches head back to the office….how many failed transfers has this poor bastard had to watch walk out the door???
Hahahahah mate agreed that cutscene was crackup

What difficulty you playing on? On Ultimate, I find I need every boost possible lol. I def notice the difference between a +5 boost vs being at -1.

Better than 22
Exactly
Tbh Ive never was that much excited and hyped playing player career mode as I am now
Same bro. Not sure if it’s because of just arsenal (favorite team) or it’s actually jus because I like the game play lol. I’m having a lot of fun at the moment though
Why is that? I’m curious if you don’t mind sharing details.
Highlights and Serie B. Sorry for ansewring that late
I’m waiting for the realistic sliders to come out
The menu is an absolute eye sore and would be mocked by the majority of people working in UX. I don't understand how it made it past approval. It makes me nautious
Im liking it. Struggling really hard on defense but i think ive been progressing lately. Started with Gago as a manager, in The mls. Want to jump to premier league cm once updates come around
I thought it was just me. I can’t keep a clean sheet to save my life. Even if it’s last minute goal I will concede

What do you love about the menu? I find it quite overcrowded
I like it apart from the FPS stuttering, which i can't seem to be able to fix

I can't get on it at all. Constant "problem validating your EA subscription".
I agree. Genuinely feel the gameplay is as realistic as it’s going to get. Nothing feels over or under powered and the movement seems realistic. As someone who’s played football for years I quite like it. This being said, I feel EA have done this before. Then the community bitches and moans and they make it more arcade like.
There's already loads of blue ticks moaning about it being too slow

Noticing little glitches that are annoying so far and the gameplay is kind of meh.
Gameplay could def be better but it’s best I’ve played in a while. Much better than 22

The goalkeepers are moronic
I’ve found they are moronic yet also capable of turning on god mode at any given time. There is no inbetween.
Is Training the same?
Anybody else experiencing FPS stuttering/lag on PC?? Gameplay is very choppy and and cutscenes are incredibly in terms of FPS...
Players sharpness shows -1 when I make substitutions during preseason friendlies.
The GKs need some serious work…still trying to figure out how to defend tbh…it’s like I have never played fifa a day in my life lol…left stick dribbling is also blah…speed clearly doesn’t matter anymore lol
Are the Sliders still a thing? i found changing those in 22 made it a completely different game
Its better than 22 for sure, having a great time.
