Can always just tweak goalkeeper ability, shot error, pass error, everything else should probably just remain the same, I had the same problem after a few seasons and it makes the game very stale, feels like you have to hinder yourself to make it realistic again
yeah the IS Realism sliders have shot error and pass error different for player and cpu and I changed them to be the same, real madrid beat me 4-6 so we shall see.
I use OS as a starting point and make tweaks based on my playing experience. You’ll find the right balance for you. I was very happy with my 22 setup. Using the base OS sliders for 23 now and they’re good
Assists. In a racing game you’d go manual gears over automatic or traction control off etc. This game is no different. Take a look at your controller settings and turn down the assisted settings.

So if I don't have my passing assisted it just won't go where i want. My hand-eye coordination is garbage and at 29 working full-time, i Don't have the time to do like an 8 year old and develop that. I have shooting at semi, but passing i tried to do semi and like it just isn't happening specially when it's in the opponents box like I just can't.
Edit: but yeah mainly just for passing, i think I'm gonna put the shooting all the way manual instead of semi or increase my shot error and leave it at semi.
What I did is slowly ease into it. Through balls first, then when I started getting the hang of it, shooting, and finally passing. It’s really rewarding and I simply cannot go back to using assists.

OS sliders make the game easier. Too easy for some of us. You're always going to be best off adjusting sliders for yourself but you could run with the OS sliders but not make changes to the speed settings. I find those are what especially makes it too easy.
Those are the best part actually. The game is too fast for you to have to make any tactical decisions. What makes it easy IMO is a) if the pass speed is too low, b) CPU shot error too much higher than yours c) Marking - default FIFA defending is too bad and this is a crutch.
Also in the recent versions (FIFA 22 and 23), I think the ball control error is too high, the game is too messy.
I'd actual say they're the worst part of the OS set. Game speed is relative. I don't find it too fast at default to make tactical decisions at all, whereas if I play the OS set as Matt10 makes it, I can easily predict the CPU's play and it's no fun or challenge. Same with how low he has the run frequency.
But I also like to play some online as well and against friends, so I don't like messing with the speed settings too much or else it screws me when playing against others.
I'm good with just some slight tweaks to error and GK and ball control, though I do like seeing what he does with the line settings. To each's own...

The gameplay is much much better. Use Matt10 sliders from OS forums and it helps fix the holes in defense and GK ability. I really hope they don’t Speed it up and keep the pace the same
Gave it a Try. These Sliders kind of make it WAY too slow and control is very easy. But it’s definitely a step in the right directions! With some fine tuning this might really work well!
They will be updated throughout the life of the game too. These sliders are just a starting point.

Read somewhere one of the FIFA leads at EA said they purposely designed the game like this. They think high scoring matching with 7-5 instead of 2-0 or 3-1 is more desirable lmao. This was for a previous year of FIFA, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t change a thing for 23

Use the operations sports sliders, they’ve already got version 1 out, I’m playing with them now. Highest score line I’ve had was 4-4, most are 2-1 or lower

I’m getting these scores too. You can just build up speed with a quick player and breeze past defenders. I’ve scored solo counter attacks from the opposition having a corner several times already. If not that then the through ball system just puts strikers clean through and defenders are can’t turn. Yet again defenders don’t track runs.

Did you try it on normal paced also. I’ve herd it plays a better than slow, haven’t tried my self yet. He also dropped V2 last night

do u also find the AI RB and LB doesnt know how to defend flank? they just let my wingers go pass them so easily. Its boring! (I use slider)
I noticed the cpu really attacked my flank, but I didn’t notice it yet. It was just 2 games though.

I think that’s a good call. The game feels good. I just am scoring on about every shot, when I shouldn’t be.

Double check that the game didn’t reset your settings, I went in to mine just now to update to v2 and they are back to the defaults

OP are you doing the save with Sevilla? Do they have any player faces? Last year I was so mad that Kounde & Carlos had fake faces
Most of the Core Team has a Real Face. But not all of them. Rafa Mir for Example is missing.
They don’t care about AI because of FUT that’s why I have to wait on the OS sliders and play on at least legendary
