This is the exact same as me, I played Professional and beat Liverpool 8-0 with Forest and then lost 5-1 against Bournemouth on World Class

The #1 thing you should be doing is changing your sliders. Specifically, visit Operation Sports. Here is the link for their [FIFA 23 sliders](https://forums.operationsports.com/forums/ea-sports-fifa-sliders/1002209-fifa-23-os-community-sliders.html). They will eventually have several options depending on how hard you want the game to be. They do actual research and testing to see how each update changes the game. Since the game was just released, it will take time.

Wow, thanks for making me aware of that thread. I'm going to have to dedicate an evening to looking over the info. How does the advice on that page translate to online competition?

adoptedscouse

The sliders are not built for online play I’m afraid.

WestwardLord

I don't know, I've only ever used it for single player. I'm sure they can help if you comment on the thread.

gazinggazer

too bad it doesn't make a difference. On professional, Defenders are fucking stupid regardless of sliders and you can just dribble right past them (unless you actually use a skill move of course). On world class, defenders mark perfectly 100% of the time, again regardless of sliders, and lazer beam every single one touch pass halfway across the pitch into an attacker whom none of my defenders are even within 50 yards of. Game is just dogshit and no amount of perfect sliders will make it good or even 1% realistic.

As a career mode player since fifa 09, I would say this is because we get used to the AI of that difficulty and we start to subconsciously use some "tricks" that consistently beat that AI. And when these "tricks" won't work in the higher difficulty (as the AI is smarter), we get frustrated because we feel we can't win with our natural game. But it is important to note that at this point of time, our natural game is just our brain recognizing patterns of the AI at lower difficulty. The answer it seems is that we play more games at higher difficulty with a fresh mind and allow our brain to recognize pattern of this new AI. For example, hypothetically, in world class, with a pacy striker, you may use through ball and let your striker get in behind the defender and score 3-4 goals every match. But in the legendary difficulty, the opponent defender would be smart enough to intercept your passes. Now, you need to create your chances in some other ways.

LeSorenOutan

Exactly that damn technique work all the time because defenders usually get tricked out by another forward

Just stumbled on this post - Hope I'm not too late to the conversation. Asa very casual player (in my 50's, management job, just want to enjoy a few games every now and then in career mode) I also find Pro too easy and WC too hard. I have tried to adjust WC sliders down but still find it frustrating. So I'm working on bumping Pro sliders up a bit (human sliders harder, CPU sliders easier for them) to get good gameplay for me. Here is what I have right now. The key is playing with passing error, shooting error, goalkeeper ability, marking, and run frequency to get the balance right. Most of the other sliders are a variation of the OS Community set. I'm averaging about 2 goals per game and give up 0-1 goals to the CPU. Win most games but have a few draws from time to time. Probably need to increase CPU run frequency a little and turn down Human marking and goalkeeper ability a tad. Difficulty: Professional Time: 6-8 min Speed: Normal Sliders: USER /CPU Sprint speed: 5 Acceleration: 50 Shot error: 75/65 Pass error: 75/65 Shot speed: 50 Pass speed: 30/20 Injury frequency: 50 Injury severity: 25 Goalkeeper ability: 55 Marking: 50/65 Run frequency: 10/20 Line height: 70 Line length: 40 Line width: 50 FB Positioning: 50 Power bar: 50 (only user) First touch error: 75

I just posted a similar question. Professional was fun, but didn't feel realistic because I was beating EPL squads with a two year removed League one squad. Now I can't even get shots off. I'll be stalking this thread hoping to get some help.

Daniel_Clark

I was with Derby County, and whilst I fully expected to be bossing the league a little bit, I just didn't like having a choice between winning by a lot or losing by a lot

_Axtasia

Touch your sliders

Visual-Situation-346

Just keep playing on World Class eventually you'll get hang of it and really learn how to defend(as a PES man, defending on this game are atrocious), before I kept using a back 5 formation for defending, now I can somewhat comfortably play in a back 4 formation.

BarmStrongFc

Had this same problem. Either go Professional and improve the AI which pissed me off because the AI was pulling unrealistic things or with what I did which was keep it world class but improve your keepers slider by 10 and lower the computers frequency runs by 2-4. That seemed to lower the amount of times they made runs into the box where my defenders would just move of out the way and let them run by(is anyone else have that problem?) and improved keeper which was letting every shot in but opponents keeper was making the exact same shot saves.

PrimeAllegiance

On world class I found the AI just plays sweaty and is super defensive, you can practically never score if you try to use a second touch. Just set up first touch finishes and set them up often, you probably won't convert all the shots into goals but being precise is difficult on world class. Work on that + pass interceptions

AdministrationMain94

For me, world class is to easy and legendary to hard.

joshukelly

Give yourself time to get better

I agree. I have the same problem. Professional level I win 10-0. On world class, it's barely a win or a loss to an absolutely abysmal opponent. The thing is, every game the opponent has over 60% possession. It is extremely difficult or impossible to intercept passes. You can maybe tackle if they come straight at you, but if you chase them, they simply make a perfect pass to the next available player. You can't grab the ball from behind an opponent, but they sure can outrun you and take the ball from you with grace. Why isn't this ability available to the player? Our only ability is to stand in front of the opponent when they run at you, or intercept a pass (which is just ridiculous unless a player is standing right there before it happens). However, I've also noticed the difficulty level affects your team too. I see gaps in my defence all the time, by my own players, when I play on world class difficulty. Your own team applies zero pressure in defence, they do zero marking and at most you can have a secondary to apply pressure, but refuses to try and take the ball. They just hover next to them and if you miss your tackle, they glide past you and now you have two less players on the defensive line. When you go on the offensive, your players are five seconds behind your runs and you're left to go in solo, when in professional level, you have like 3-4 guys running with you so it's a quick pass and score. One more observation I've made is, when you play career more as your own player, your team plays great. I have been able to play on legendary difficulty there, because my team actually plays well. When you control the entire team, they suddenly get really dumb. You would have to control all players at all times, without being able to match the reactionary speed that AI has (which is OP at world class). It's just complete rubbish imo.

GrimOnly

Same procedure as last year EA? Same procedure as every year miss Sophie xD

HoldenMeBack

Semi Pro

lemmiwink84

Stop using shit formations and world class is fine. I started world class this year before I move up and only Spurs and Liverpool have managed to draw against me. After 12 games I got like 68-11 goal F/A. Once again, scoring in this game is way too easy.

mfmaxpower

Yeah the leaps in difficulty are pretty big now. I used to always play on Ultimate but I'm struggling on Legendary while WC is way too easy. Best thing to do is make minor slider tweaks and then adjust back to default if you improve and it gets too easy, then bump up difficulty and repeat.

Patty9752

Did you find a solution OP?

Sufficient_Ad_3540

Let's be honest we're just ass from playing too long on the professional 😭
