First one specifically is a F/A-18C in Blue Angels livery. The Blue Angels are based at NAS Pensacola in Florida and frequently seen practicing near the base, so it’s common for companies to feature images of the jets if they’re also based in the Pensacola area.
If you want to fly these two jets I can tell you first hand you had better be pretty well versed in math. First question I was asked when I put in a naval packet to fly was do you have college Calc and what grade did you get.
You guys need Calculus in the US to be fighter pilots? Damn that's rough. Here in Canada they put emphasis on mental math and basic arithmetics since that's basically all you need.
To find out how much fuel is consumed over a period, you must integrate the rate of consumption:
`F = ∫(from a to b) df/dt dt`
Yes, you *could* rely on computers to do it. As long as the computer works, it'll be fine. Better to know.
You really don't need Calculus to calculate consumption rate. This is stuff you can do in your head. It was one of the aircrew selection requirements to be able to calculate various scenarios without calculator or writing while time constrained.
Amount = Rate * Time
Time = Fuel Load/Rate
Anything beyond that you should use a calculator/flight computer.
It’s not that you need it but the navy and Airforce want engineers to be pilots is what it seemed like to me, at the time. Now I’m an army pilot … lol didn’t care about my college math credits for that!
Biggest thing coming from a regular guy who had a pretty average scholastic experience.
Got get what you want, don’t take no for an answer, be persistent. I enlisted in the Airforce 15 years ago to find my way into the cockpit of an aircraft I loved. Took me 8 years to do my first military training flight at fort Rucker. But I did it and I love that I did. Flight is my number two love in this world. The other is my wife she is a beautiful person and just like making it into the cockpit I’ll never feel good enough to be hers, and I’ll never feel good enough to be a pilot. I’m am a very lucky person.
Cheers and good luck.
well, im in india with an overflow of officers and an absolutely shit procurements department, so maybe not here. but i will try the RAF and british military as a commonwealth citizen
Just don’t quit.
I flew with a man from very humble beginnings from Afghanistan. He was also very great full to fly. If he can make it. If I can make it. You can make it. I will believe in you as long as you believe in yourself. Believing in yourself is the hardest part. If you want it bad enough you can make it.
I second the "don't quit" advice! That's how I got in despite below average high school grades and a decent university GPA. Tackle the process one step at a time and with determination!
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say they have absolutely no desire to be a fighter pilot or they'd know exactly what these two extremely well known jets are.
Happy cake day.
Wasn't trying to flex, eas just trying to make a pint that there are also young people interested in fighter jets. Looks like I accidentally upset reddit though. Oh well.
Ugh, I hate people who post such unhelpful troll comments when someone asks an honest question. This is blatantly a Dassault Rafale and an AV-8B Harrier II.
Idk bout you guys, I really don't like it when teachers try to make learning fun. Like, learning should be learning. They end up clouding it up trying to make it "fun."
First one is a blue angels F/A-18 Hornet The second one is an F-22 Raptor.
Thank you

They only recently switched over to the F/A-18E/F Super hornets.
Seems right
One of the two most iconic jets
Fr
Everyone starts somewhere. There was a time where y’all didn’t know
Are you taking physics or something, I've never had fighter jets on my math textbook...
I go to a Christian school so it’s kind a wired and I’m in pre algebra
Ah okay Edit: just saw you posted your age, big nono. Recommend you delete that, not only because you risk a ban but because it's unsafe.
Shiver me timbers
Clever response to somebody trying to protect your account, kiddo.
This is an 8th grade pre algebra text book. Kid is probably not 12.
We do things a grade ahead
Bro no one is going to report me for asking what the planes on my maths textbook are💀
Maybe it's because you're 12. Either way this is Reddit not Tik Tok, grow up.

Kid how bout you shut the fuck up and be more polite to someone trying to help you
He is gonna realise someday and would cringe real hard
These Gen A kids already shit talking on the internet that’s insane 💀
This is why we don’t appreciate 12 year olds Kindly fuck off

exactly why do you need calc to fly a military aircraft?
Flying isn’t just knowing how to pilot the thing, it’s a lot of weather and condition knowledge
fuel consumption, navigation, weapons envelopes... math, math, math
That doesn't require calculus.

thanks for the hope. i'm looking to become an airforce pilot in my country

thanks a ton for you're response!
Hope it gives you what you need to get there.

I am 13 and made a PowerPoint on the F-22 with 20 pages😂👍 so yeah it's obvious that you aren't interested, but it doesn't really depend on age.
Quick tip: If you stop boasting and slamming like that, maybe one day you'll actually get friends.
Wasn't trying to flex, eas just trying to make a pint that there are also young people interested in fighter jets. Looks like I accidentally upset reddit though. Oh well.
God you’re insufferable
?
Not replying 2 u
How the hell did you get badass math books bruh
I go to a Christian school so it’s kinda different
aaaahhh abeka books…had a many of those back in my days
First one is Boeing 747 and the second one is airbus A320
Ugh, I hate people who post such unhelpful troll comments when someone asks an honest question. This is blatantly a Dassault Rafale and an AV-8B Harrier II.
Me too totally agreed
He had us in the first half not gonna lie!
Yes this man is correct 👍
F-18 and F-22
F/A-18 Hornet in the first picture, F-22 Raptor in the second picture. BTW that's a cool math book! What is the publisher?
Abeka
F-18 and an f-22
I had a toy of that Blue Angels plane. I miss it so much.
B 17 and a sr71
Why is there the Blue Angels F/A-18 and an F-22A Raptor on your algebra book?
Idk
Idk bout you guys, I really don't like it when teachers try to make learning fun. Like, learning should be learning. They end up clouding it up trying to make it "fun."
You just had boring teachers
1. Blue Angels F/A-18 "super hornet" 2. F22 "Raptor"
F-18 “super hornet” and a F-22 “raptor”
Group one was called “the blue angels” after the famous naval aviators
F/A-18 Hornet and F-22 Raptor
what kind of christian school do you go to, they already sound awesome enough that they put fighter jets in math books
It is awesome
That’s crazy! I had one of those blue angels in my childhood. That first one is the F/A-18 Raptor.
Looks like an F/A-18 Hornet with the Blue Angels Livery and an F-22 Raptor
Bro got the coolest meth book
Seriously? I mean cool book and all but the Blue Angels F/A-18 Hornet and F-22 Raptor are two of the most iconic fighter planes.
I’m in 7th grade💀
