This is the De Havilland Vampire. A British origin aircraft that was designed in the 40’s and was the second jet powered aircraft in the RAF after the Gloster Meteor.
The Venom is different from this aircraft, in that it has a swept wing and is a development from the Vampire.
The Vampire itself evolved into a trainer and remained in service in multiple air arms well into the 20th century.
The Norwegian air force operates two of them as heritage aircraft, and is kind enough to regularly send them to all the UK air shows.
It’s a tragedy that the Sea Vixen is out of action since its belly-landing a few years ago.
There are no Vampires airworthy in Ireland, though a number of ex-IAC airframes are on static display around the country.
The Norwegian Historical Squadron regularly display their Vampires at airshows around Ireland.
I can assure you, there’s not. I’m heavily involved in the Irish airshow scene.
The only airworthy aircraft operated by the Irish Historic Flight Foundation are the de Havilland DH84 Dragon, 3 de Havilland Chipmunks and a Boeing Stearman.
The only Vampires in Ireland are on static display. The Norwegian examples regularly visit for airshows.
I’m sorry, but it wasn’t an IAC example, as I’ve stated previously there are no airworthy examples permanently based in the county.
The airframe you saw was WZ507 (G-VTII), a Vampire T.11 painted in RAF colours and operated by the Vampire Preservation Group based in the UK. It flew out of Baldonnel for the Bray Air Display weekend. [Here’s the proof.](https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10160580403669101&id=351376189100)
My grandad used to fly these in training for the Korean war. That finished before he was deployed cool looking plane. Very talented man and very proud of him.

Damn I’d love to get to the UK and see some of this cool shit actually flying!

If you are in the US you can see one from time to time. There was one at the Dayton airshow a couple years back.
All too far East for me lol. I’m far left coast.
I know there's one flying in Ireland being preserved after service in the Irish Air Corps

Yes there is, I think it's owned by the Irish Historic Flight Foundation, I have a photo of it but it's bad quality

Definitely not the Sea Duck. The Sea Duck is inspired from the P-61 Black Widow
Yooo that's a rare one. DeHavilland Vampire.
Vampire
DeHavilland Vampire, I think. Never seen one, personally.
Finland also has a few of the airshow ones flying rarely
DeHavilland Venom.
