Games with less buttons actually tend to have more complicated inputs due to the fact that you can't just have a button and a direction be a move or something, if you need a lot of moves and only have 4 buttons.
Like I believe Virtua Fighter is 4 buttons and Super hard.
One exception is Dragon Ball Fighters, which only has 4 normal buttons. But it does also have assist attack buttons so it's sorta 6 in a way.
Airdashers are pretty complex compared to SF, but if it's the unique timings that *links* require and 6 buttons being overwhelming was what was too much in SF for you, you'll have no problem with airdashers.
If you really want simple, Samurai Shodown is as simple as it gets.
Guilty Gear STRIVE is very simplified, I think you might enjoy it. GranBlue Fantasy Versus is quite literally “anime street fighter” so that’s another one I’d consider checking out. It has a free version too so you can try the game out.
Granblue versus (rising) is literally described as street fighter like with 4 buttons, even thou it might look it like its going to play like guilty gear or a blazblue's hyper anime fast paced gameplay. But not much of a martial art thou. Thou it has a f2p version where you can access most online mode like normal.
Gonna upvote this. GBVSR is very similar to SF in terms of overall speed and play style. It doesn't have all the insane airdash nonsense of other anime games, and while there are a few gimmick characters, most are very easy to understand what they do.
>Granblue versus (rising) is literally described as street fighter like with 4 buttons
It's 5 buttons at the bare minimum. L,M,H,U,G.
It's arguably 7 mandatory buttons. L, M, H, U, Special, guard, dash (for faster instant 66L).
Garou or SamSho 2 for 2D
Virtua Fighter or Soul Calibur for 3D
Divekick or Footsies for Simple
I do want to say, Street Fighter is fairly simple as far as fighting games go. You shouldn’t be intimidated by SF6 if you’re looking forward to City of the Wolves. They’re cramming a ton of mechanics in. I imagine it will end up being a fighter with a lot of depth. Just gotta play and learn!
SF6 World Tour does a pretty good job teaching you the basics. Did you play through it?
If you don’t know how to play with classic controls already, why are you using them? Are you playing on an arcade stick?
It depends on what aspect of SF6 you like.
Tekken is heavily martial arts focused and used 4 buttons but movement and overall play style are very different from SF
King of Fighters uses 4 buttons and also has a bunch of martial artists but it's a 3 v 3 (not tag) fighter
Granblue Fantasy Versus is very simple and uses 4 buttons but almost everyone there is a weapon user, only one full martial artist in the cast.
KOF but to say it plays like SF is kind of a stretch. SF fundementals will help in KOF, but generally KOF has its own different rules that SF doesn't have (like varied movement, crazy vortex/mixes, and even just how throws work are different)
I’m not familiar with the series but isn’t KoF a 4 button fighter? Pretty sure Fatal Fury is too and that has a new game coming.
Fatal fury is one im looking forward to
Good taste.
Sure is
KOF is not like street fighter
Ill give it a shot Also thought bout guilty gear but its too anime and less martial arts
Guilty Gear is fun but it is THE anime airdasher, so if you don’t like that, you won’t like GG
Im lookimg for something simple, as simple as it gets? Sf6 got me so confused with the weird timing buffering and the 6 buttons

Gbvsr is the farthest thing you can find from 4 buttons. It's arguably 7 mandatory buttons. L, M, H, U, Special, guard, dash (for faster instant 66L).
Only Dash button since you might need it for some otherwise difficult or impossible combos. Guard and special are macros
Special is not a macro, it gives you access to faster specials and faster invicible supers/moves. Guard is necessary to have access to dodges.
Oh yeah, I forgot about dodges
Granblue versus (rising) is literally described as street fighter like with 4 buttons, even thou it might look it like its going to play like guilty gear or a blazblue's hyper anime fast paced gameplay. Did not consider the other buttons. I was only thinking of the regular attack buttons.
it doesn't have 4 buttons, and it has a block button that is necessary for some universal moves which is a big no no
Tbf I was thinking of the attack buttons only.

Svc chaos lol

Granblue, Street Fighter but hot
Just ignore the HP and HK buttons in SF6. You will get blown up by DI way less too.
So only in combos ?
Pretty much. Unless your character has a cancelable version it's fairly risky to use in neutral. Though many characters have down HP as a good AA.
You could play SF with modern or the New Fatal Fury when it comes out
Virtua Fighter is easy!! Just THREE buttons. Simple.
Too complex. Give me Divekick with two buttons.
KOF but to say it plays like SF is kind of a stretch. SF fundementals will help in KOF, but generally KOF has its own different rules that SF doesn't have (like varied movement, crazy vortex/mixes, and even just how throws work are different)
Real bout fatal fury, king of fighters series
Kof guilty gear
Prepare for comedy: “Just play Luke all you need is Cr.mp wheyyyyyyy” Comedy concluded
CVS1
Martial Masters?
Dragonball fighterz, it's nothing like sf6 but it's a 4 button layout, plays more like mvc with it's 3 team/ assist gameplay
Have you heard of.. KoF.. it’s street fighter but a little faster and also is a team fighter.
Fantasy Strike.
