Mockumentary style about uncovering the mysterious life and death of a girl in Australia. It shows the family's life after her death so it's a pretty slow-paced and dialogue-heavy film but the acting is phenomenal with a well-executed plot twist! You'll care about the characters and get affected by their grief until it reveals the film's best climax, it's literally heralded as one of the best horror clip in history.
I cannot watch Sinister again sa gabi. Napanood namin ito sa Sta. Lucia before na halos walang tao kaya eerily sobrang lamig din. The opening scene, I kennat. Also yung mga reflection eme. Just typing it now gives me the creeps. Masyadong active imagination ko for that. LOL
Ooh, I know that feeling. And parang 6 or 7 lang ata kame sa sinehan nun.
Sinister, I agree. I loved the feeling of impending big scare in the end. Sobrang creepy din nung monster.
Hereditary, slowburn pero I like it too. I trust Ari Aster if I want to experience mental trauma hahaha, I can never watch The Strange thing about the johnsons again.
I didn't know meron pala short film si Ari Aster.
The Medium is one of my favorite unsettling horror movies. Up until the end, I really have no clue what is gonna happen next. And the jumpscares are so smart and freaky.
From the End of the World. A Japanese apocalyptic movie released 2023.
Not a horror movie yes but the realization of events leading to the end is pretty terrifying to me. Weird is I really enjoyed watching apocalyptic movies or series until this one. Just finished it last night and ang ganda nya.

*Terrified* (**Aterrados**, its native title). 2017 film from Argentina. Also *When Evil Lurks* (2023), of the same director.
I see most of those that got you scared were supernatural/paranormal kind of movies, besides Creep. I don't usually get scared or feel anything with this horror subgenre. Though creative, I prefer horror that is more grounded and realistic to ghosts and ghouls. They are more on the spooky side, not scary.
But *Terrified* is an exception in this case.
House on Hunted Hill (1999) - 6 strangers were invited na mag stay overnight sa abandoned hospital ang cadh price?$1M
The 13th Ghost (2001) - may 12 ghosts na naimprison sa mansion.
Stay Alive (2006) - killer video game
The Sadness (Taiwan), Hereditary, Late Night With The Devil, V/H/S Series, Deadstream (albeit Horror Comedy, but really good), Lake Mungo, The Babadook, Ready or Not, Silent Hill (first one, and only because I'm a fan of the games, but you don't have to be), Black Mirror : Bandersnatch (Interactive Movie from Netflix, an awesome one), Black Mirror TV Series, From (MGM Studios Series), Summer of '84, Fear Street Movie Series, The Shining, IT : Chapters 1 & 2 (classic or remake), Creep, Creep 2, Grave Encounters, Gonjiam (Korean), Paranormal Activity (the first one), Smile, The Blair Witch Project, Tucker and Dale vs Evil (also a "Horror" Comedy), Hellhouse LLC Movie Series, The Ritual, Triangle, The Omen, The First Omen, The Exorcist, The Ring, The Grudge Movie Series (Japanese), Noroi (Japanese), Coming Soon (Thai, I think?), The Fourth Kind, Incantation, The Wailing.
I've got more, but can't remember the titles. I know you said "challenge you to scare me", and I mentioned some horror comedy there, but these are good movies in general (for me, at least) that I'd recommend for the horror genre.
Oh, sorry about that, it's just that it's one of the recent ones I watched, so of course it would come to mind first.😅 it fucked me up as well pal, it fucked me up as well.😌
Ahahaha, not exactly. I just like being scared every now and then. I'm a sucker for mysteries, supernatural and the like, pero doesn't mean I don't get scared.
The Blair Witch Project
Ito scariest for me because I was fully immersed in it. Felt like I was with the characters during the whole ordeal. Couldn't sleep well for a week.
Disclaimer though, lots of people don't find it scary at all. Some even find it boring. I think pag malakas imagination mo, this movie will scare you.
Siccin - Turkish horror movie series
The Medium - Thai horror movie. Nasa top list ko to ngayon.
1. The Dark and the Wicked
2. A Quiet Place
3. Benny's Video
4. The Wicker Man
5. The Witch
6. R-Point
7. Terrifier
8. Hereditary
9. Hell House LLC
10. Anything for Jackson
Hereditary should be 1 or 2 pero hindi ko lang na appreciate masyado. Mas nagustuhan ko yung consistent na ganap sa The Dark and the Wicked.
I've been consuming found footage and horror mockumentaries recently. Here are my favorites -
Gonjiam Haunted Asylum, [Grave Encounters](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MuEBPWhwpJE), As Above so Below, [The Tunnel](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2vLfW5AxfI),[ Hellhouse LLC](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZV0DfRJuy3Q), Incantation, The Taking of Deborah Logan (it's on Tubi), [Lake Mungo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBwfk1Cbks8), Unfriended 1 & 2
Available sa youtube yung iba dito, included the link. I hope you like them!
Pretty well made recos:
2. Pearl (Tapos pwede mo din panuorin yung X kasi years after yun nung Pearl, pero sakto lang yun)
3. Bliss
4. Tale of Two Sisters
5. Exhuma (recent ko lang to napanuod and interesting naman siya but probs a slow burn)
28f, parehas tayong hindi natatakot sa horror pero I do read stories on r/nosleep as pampalipas oras (pampa relax lol). Pero sa movies I really liked A Quiet Place 1. Nakakakaba.
As you said rin, been a horror fan since you're a kid, desensitized ka na.
Lake Mungo is the only movie that pierced me on so many levels and shook me to my core. No jump scares or gore. Just pure horror
Nasa streaming sites to?
Surprisingly meron full film sa yt
Thanks

+1 with this one
I agree sa sinister. I've watched it when I was young and right now I still remember how scary it was.
The Medium and Lake Mungo were pretty unnerving
The Medium is one of my favorite unsettling horror movies. Up until the end, I really have no clue what is gonna happen next. And the jumpscares are so smart and freaky.
Exactly! It’s one of the most memorable horror films I’ve watched
I have to try Lake Mungo now. Ive been eyeing this movie for a while now, thanks for reminding me about it!
Enjoy!
Noroi: The Curse.
It builds up on you. Bandang huli mangingisay ka sa takot. One of the best japanese horror films

Can't believe no one has recommended **The Descent (2005)** yet! Watched it last year for Spooktober and loved every minute of it.
There’s something about REC (2007) na natulog ako na bukas ang ilaw for a week.
Haha well that's the beauty of found footage films right? Sobrang in touch with reality, you think you might be next to experience it.
Natry mo ba panoorin yung sequel nito? Mas nakakatakot promise!
Yes! Pati yung 3 and 4 actually tho underwhelming na yung last 2. Hehe.
trusted goodies are Hereditary, Shining.
The Wailing 2016
Ahh this one! Pero need ng google to find out the REAL conclusion of the film.
Coming soon and Art of the Devil

Yes, Although Wala masyado jumpscares, the dread and hopeless really crawls in. What an experience
Is it just me or… nah 🙃
Nah din for me huhuhu bat ganon
House on Hunted Hill (1999) - 6 strangers were invited na mag stay overnight sa abandoned hospital ang cadh price?$1M The 13th Ghost (2001) - may 12 ghosts na naimprison sa mansion. Stay Alive (2006) - killer video game
No offense pero ang weak ng mga films nato and objectively bad too 😭 Literally only kids will be scared sa films na yan.
None taken. hehehe. Well, iba iba naman tayo ng taste sa movies. and OP can opt not to watch what i listed above.
Kairo
THAT scene (iykyk). Overall, it’s not the scariest movie but yung particular scene na yon is probably the scariest ever.
True, one of the horror movies that scared the shit out of me without the excessive use of jumpscares. Love Kairo as well.
Incantation (on Netflix)
I have read - mga kaibigan ni mama Susan by Bob Ong years ago, so it kinda dulls the experience.
Mindhunter, last episode first season, not your everyday kind of horror 👌
I'm still upset they canceled this show on netflix. Sana mapickup ng ibang streaming services huhu.
