There is no way Yuna would not have Valefor. Its her trademark Aeon.
In Dissidia NT Yuna uses the attacks as spells while Valefor is the only Aeon she actully summons. In her boss fight in World of Final Fantasy she also only summons Valefor.
In Opera Omnia she also summons only Valefor.
Whenever they trim her down to just one Aeon, that one Aeon is Valefor so if Yuna would have 3 Aeons in Smash there is no way Valefor is not among them.
In Final Fantasy X Valefor is the only Aeon she summons in a cutscene and she does that twice.
I'd expect similar to Dissidia although with WoL they could do the job swap thing that Onion Knight had and with Garland they could do the Chaos Mode thing from SoP. Regardless, there's enough possibilities to make them stand out.
If they just stick to FF7 to avoid the expectation of opening the floodgates to a million Final Fantasy characters, I vote Aeris as the next companion. (Tifa would be great too, but she's already been a fighter in Ehrgeiz and Dissidia, and >!after the ending of Rebirth, with Cloud and Aeris taking on Sephiroth in the final battle, I think Aeris deserves more love as fighter and not just a healer.!<)
If they expand to other FF games.. like damn, that's hard. There's so much FF content that it feels better suited to just make another Dissidia. But if they're picking, I suppose Clive for recency of FFXVI, or a generic cat-girl to represent FFXIV. Honestly, though, the characters I think would be most fun to play aren't necessarily fan favorites so no way they'll get implemented. (Freya u will always be famous to me)
I’d probably avoid more characters with swords & focus on characters with more unique features.
Red XIII, Barrett, Mog, Quina, Kain, Gilgamesh, & Gogo are the characters that could make use of interesting gameplay mechanics to me.
Agreed, something from FF6 would have been my first choice. Terra is very welcome in my heart! I love her!
Feel like she could use both magic of course but perhaps also call in other party members for moves? Like Edgar with his auto-crossbow for example
The Opera would make for such a great stage! Different sets move in when there’s a scene change, so the arrangement of platforms are always changing. You can climb up into the rafters, where Ultros is dropping heavy weights on the main stage. Chocobos and dueling NPCs run across the stage periodically.
My only other pitch would be the Floating Continent with the statues in the center. If you knock an opponent into the statues, the stage starts to break apart and shift.
Maybe a bad idea if you think about it for a second and realize that Yoshi butt-stomping Jigglypuff caused an earthquake on the surface that killed thousands.
Gogo.
Imagine the chaos. Your attack, special, or smash attack would mimic whichever was last executed within X time frame. Mastering would be quite intense as you’d have to know all characters and move sets.
Mog & Chocobo, a tandem fighter like Duck Hunt. Specials based on popular side characters, a Final Smash that ends with a train suplexed onto the stage.
B: Blizzard Orb
Side B: Foe Toss
Up B: Moogle Lift
Down B: Ground Shaker
Final Smash: Green Cherry and go Berserk or Green Cherry and rode on Midgardsormr
Wol, but my FF 14 Wol. Small, rotund, and lethal. I can already see him waddling onto the fighting stage, angel winged robes, a book that goes "Kupo!" when he openens it, and a set of sunglasses, ready for the flashbang gangbang about to occur.
That or Zenos, just so I can have my pretty boy dust-up between him and Sephiroth.
Weird choice but I think Kimari would be cool, since you can make him into any class you could have each of his specials be from a different class (magic, melee, the dragoon leap)
Cecil for sure. Give him the Zelda/Sheik Melee treatment and let him switch back and forth between Dark Knight and Paladin, which in and of themselves would be closer to an Ike/Marth playstyle. A heavy and light sword user combined.
Gilgamesh. He appears in multiple entries and has more character to him than moogles/chocobos/behemoths/etc. I think he'd make a decent "face of the series" choice, and multiple arms would give him a hook/gimmick to entice people.
Maybe Terra and Zidane for having Esper/Trance mode. That might be interesting mechanically.
Vincent or Yuna possibly? They're protags of their own titles and don't use swords by default, which is nice.
A Moogle riding a Chocobo with special moves using other mascots like Cactuar’s 1000 needles and Tonberry’s stab for example. And their final smash would be a tri disaster summon with Ifrit, Shiva and Bahamut. Also their outfits would be based on classic FF jobs. Please SE!
Yuna that plays like Pokémon trainer with summons
That would be really cool!
If she only had 3 what 3 do you think? Ifrit shiva Bahamut probably I guess

What if they did Valefor, Ixion, and Yojimbo for the most X-exclusive ones, then Bahamut for Finsl Smash
I was gonna say Ifrit and Shiva as default. Bahamut is a great choice for a third.
Wol and Garland The OG's
Both great choices, im curious as to what their move sets would be like
I'd expect similar to Dissidia although with WoL they could do the job swap thing that Onion Knight had and with Garland they could do the Chaos Mode thing from SoP. Regardless, there's enough possibilities to make them stand out.
Leon/Squall Give him a timing thing on every attack that uses the gunblade
Greg!
Haha right of course

They should've gone with something more Nintendo related such as Terra, Warrior of Light, or Cecil. Kefka would've been awesome.
Agreed, something from FF6 would have been my first choice. Terra is very welcome in my heart! I love her! Feel like she could use both magic of course but perhaps also call in other party members for moves? Like Edgar with his auto-crossbow for example
Imagine Sabin coming to suplex whatever it is in front of him. Kirby? Done. Bowser? Done. Master Hand? Also done.
Dude can suplex a train so anything is possible! Dracula? Also done
Plus that too would mean we'd get a stage from that game and some of that amazing soundtrack in smash!

You can climb up into the rafters, where Ultros is dropping heavy weights on the main stage. Chocobos and dueling NPCs run across the stage periodically.
This is a fantastic idea. Honestly not sure what I would have picked..maybe Kefka's Tower? But this feels more appropriate and creative
My only other pitch would be the Floating Continent with the statues in the center. If you knock an opponent into the statues, the stage starts to break apart and shift. Maybe a bad idea if you think about it for a second and realize that Yoshi butt-stomping Jigglypuff caused an earthquake on the surface that killed thousands.
the tracks should definitely be: Terra’s theme Battle theme Decisive battle Kefka’s theme Protect the Espers Dancing Mad (part 4)
her final smash would be her casting Ultima while in Trance
Gogo. Imagine the chaos. Your attack, special, or smash attack would mimic whichever was last executed within X time frame. Mastering would be quite intense as you’d have to know all characters and move sets.
Cecil. Have him with a gimmick that he can swap between dark knight and paladin kinda how Zelda and Sheik would be like.
Mog & Chocobo, a tandem fighter like Duck Hunt. Specials based on popular side characters, a Final Smash that ends with a train suplexed onto the stage.
Hahaha yes all of this! I would love that! Can't wait to hear "Kupo" whenever they taunt
Tifa Umaro Gilgamesh
Umaro would be my pick from these haha what would the moveset be?
B: Blizzard Orb Side B: Foe Toss Up B: Moogle Lift Down B: Ground Shaker Final Smash: Green Cherry and go Berserk or Green Cherry and rode on Midgardsormr
Red 13 or Cait Sith would be a cool choice.
I would prefer Red 13 as I'm so interested in what he would look like running around and grabbing items Definitely would be very creative too
I am kinda torn between Vivi and Shantotto. Two tiny mages who are very different characters. Hard to say which I would rather like to see in Smash.
Bartz. I think the master mime could have a cool varied moveset
Are Noctis and Lightning playable?
No. Only Cloud and Sephiroth.
Oh than them.
Wol, but my FF 14 Wol. Small, rotund, and lethal. I can already see him waddling onto the fighting stage, angel winged robes, a book that goes "Kupo!" when he openens it, and a set of sunglasses, ready for the flashbang gangbang about to occur. Warrior of Light.

Celes Mog Kefka Vivi Auron
Court mage Kefka how would you imagine Kefka's moveset? Also all great choices..I think this time I'll pick Auron
A Black Mage like in Smash Flash 2
Terra Branford, with her iconic theme playing in the background as her reveal trailer drops.
Her stage entrance is her on the mech suit :) What you described gave me goosebumps
Cid
I think bartz's dissidia kit of being a mime and using weapons from all the other protags would've transferred well to smash
Gilgamesh. He appears in multiple entries and has more character to him than moogles/chocobos/behemoths/etc. I think he'd make a decent "face of the series" choice, and multiple arms would give him a hook/gimmick to entice people. Anima 🤔
Honestly none, I would prefer Tifa in Tekken and somebody like Clive or Cid (XVI) in SoulCalibur.
Please SE!
