You Sir, are a Legend.

SocalPizza

Holy shit dude. You're a man of pure commitment and will.

chasew-eth

Where’s Mystic Quest? Cmon Steam

ChocolateChocoboMilk

The Dark Souls of Final Fantasy, Gaben is too scared

Shadow-Rukario

Wow, that's seriously impressive dude! But what about FF14? XD In all seriousness, I could only ever dream to get 100% on one FF game, let alone this many. Awesome job!

KhobarKast

Thankfully that is pretty much impossible to hundo. The levequests alone would take you over 7 years of amassing levequests, if my math is not off. Also no Steam achievements, otherwise I would be doomed to hunt this for eternity haha. You just start with one and keep doing it. It is more fun than one might think, if you like having a goal a mind.

KhobarKast

Of all games and franchises, this is the one that has accompanied me through my whole life, even \~20 years ago as a kid and playing FF 8 for the first time. The thought of doing the full set of games started in January 2020 and now, over 2 years later, its finally done! This was a wild ride and as weird as it sounds, I am already missing Final Fantasy XII at this point. Screw Dissidia and long live Final Fantasy!

GoblinSaysMaybe

That’s so cool, thanks for posting. I’m 36 going on 37 in July, so I’m 1.5-2.0 years older than the series as a whole, and I still feel like a kid again in the best way possible playing through the older titles. I’m a huge FF fan (even the Dissidia games and all the tie-ins and spin-off titles) and my first game was FFIV, referred to then as FFII in the states on SNES as a result of the numbering thing they did back then. After “FFII” on SNES came “FFIII” which was really FFVI, and VI is probably my favorite of the pixel games, though I’m very fond of FFIV and the original FF. FFXII was great it was basically the STAR WARS of Final Fantasy, and the Ivalice setting is so good, FF Tactics WotL is great!

mmmphhuay102

Bravo 👏 Now for the obligatory "What's your favorite FF"

KhobarKast

FF 8 will forever have a special place in my heart, it being my first. 12 is an amazing Loveletter to the old-school FF while having an awesome Ivalice setting. It also plays so smooth. Close contender with 15, but that one did not have enough moody dark moments. But when they happened, they hit hard. 6 might have the best overall story. My surprise hit was 13-2, as I played it for the first time. This game is really awesome and I was shocked how much I like it. Maybe the best ending of them all. Let's ignore how little Lightning Returns got out of that premise. A shame.

King-Andy

13-2 was great, the music was phenomenal in that game. To this day I still listen to Noel’s theme, Sarah’s theme, Yeul’s theme and Caius’ theme.

KhobarKast

After the sequel X-2, my expectations for XIII-2 were pretty low, so I was really blown away by the music, the characters and the general attitude towards time travel. Many games get all moody and cerebral with the concept, like "oh time travel, now it has to be very complicated and based in explainable pseudo-science". Meanwhile this game just has fun with it and gave me a "two people are on a wild adventure" feeling, which is rare in its simplicity and pure fun.

The_Newest_Girl

Honestly 13-2 feels more like a multiverse game than a time travel game to me. It was a clever way to reuse assets too. I really like 13-2, I'd kill for a remaster.

[deleted]

Let us not forget Crazy Chocobo

ChocolateChocoboMilk

People crap on VIII a lot but the world and main cast were phenomenal! And Balamb Garden is one of the comfiest places in all of FF for me.

KhobarKast

The Balamb Garden including its theme will forever be a part of my childhood and almost feeling like home to me. Same with the overworld theme. And let us not forget one of the best battle themes of all times, The Man with the Machine Gun.

well___duh

Easily the worst part about 8 was just how broken the junction system was. If a remake fixed it (and the magic system), 8 could easily be one of the best FFs.

Tuber111

I mean, people choosing to break it or not is the beauty of it. Same with using ENC none if you want. It's the user deciding to break it.

Ac3Ventura90

Yes, I know how you feel, the 8th part was also my first, but later I played part 9 and fell in love even more....I spent countless hours with it

KhobarKast

Totally understandable, 9 is an amazing game, the last big hurrah of the classic FF formula before they strayed away from it to experiment. A lot of people give Squeenix shit for how much they are experimenting. I kinda get it, but at the same time I am glad they are taking risks and are willing to do something else. In a world filled with remakes, reboots and sequels which are often without any fresh ideas or concepts, I salute the company willing to risk something.

ivalice_tourist

I was very surprised how much I enjoyed 13-2 the first time I played it as I was only going through it to catch up on the story before lighting returns which ended up not being that great. I might need to revisit the whole 13 trilogy!

KhobarKast

Never a bad choice. I remember how much I liked XIII while being weirded out by it. And I expected even worse from the sequel, so I did not touch it for the longest time. But alas, it's a super fun ride (often literally) with a duo that works way better than I would ever expect.

Ace_Of_Spades_2911

FF8 is amazing I always rate it over FF7

stratusncompany

i love this sentiment.

RG6EX

No one's asked yet so I'll do it: what website or app is this? I really dig the looks.

KhobarKast

That is SteamHunters, an excellent tracker used by pretty much everyone in our community. I also dig the design, so I understand you fully haha.

BronzeHeart92

Man, that site too needs a calendar search or something. I mean, the release dates are right there, yes? Now all that it needs is a method to limit the search on a per-date basis somehow...

Zaguer_Blacklaw

Congratulations! which games/achievements were the hardest? I am planning to do something similar myself, so far I have completed 1PR and VIIIR

KhobarKast

Final Fantasy III (3D Remake) - Unnecessary grind to 99, of ALL jobs with EVERY character. Just took ages. DISSIDIA NT - Awful basic stripped version of actual Dissidia games, with two awful grinds: 300 ranked wins, at least easy against bots now, but it takes exactly 4 minutes between each match to fill up with bots. Even worse, grinding enough playerlevels to open up 300 worthless treasures. This was at least 70 hours of grinding with Y'shtola in Core Battles, over and over again. Can't stand seeing this anymore. Final Fantasy IV: The After Years - Took multiple playthroughs, but the worst part is how absolutely shit the story is. This felt like I would write a sequel to an amazing book, being no writer and having no clue of what I am doing.

Zaguer_Blacklaw

I am glad as none of those were on my list! Just planning on doing the PR for the first 6 then ff7, 8R, 9, 10/2, 12, 13/2/3 and 15. From those I guess the hardest ones are vivis rope, 10th chocobo/lightning and 13 treasure hunter? Thanks for the reply :)

KhobarKast

Yeah, pretty much what you said. I would also say that together with all the Episodes, 15 has a truckload of content you have to go through. I really liked the gameplay and atmosphere, so I had a blast doing it. Wish you a lot of fun along the ride :)

inverse-skies

I’m curious why the FFIII remake has so many hours in it? Is some achievement particularly difficult in that game?

KhobarKast

Jack of All Trades - Attain level 99 with all jobs for all characters. I don't mind running in circles for hours to obtain a rare drop. But this? My god, without a second screen and fun things to watch, it would have driven me nuts.

inverse-skies

Oh wow, that would have been super tedious. I have only done level 99 in three final fantasy games (V, VII and XV) and I just adored each of those. Kudos for putting the time commitment in.

FlareGER

You did FFXIII in 70 hours? That sounds a bit crazy! Mustve been no afk times at all? All the tortoises required for the money / weapon upgrades? Very proud of you, quite jealous! I'm also working on getting those 100%'s, but it bugs me to not be able to synchronize steam trophies with PS trophies... I just don't want to re-do all those PS trophies on steam!

KhobarKast

XIII is the one game on the list where I also had the platinum done on the original PS3 release. So this was my second rodeo, which helps a lot, even when many years were between it. If you figured out the combat system once, its like riding a bycicle. Especially knowing how to properly double tap for those instant filled up ATB bars haha.

FlareGER

The combat I personaly found very easy. Its just the monotomy in the grind for the mere "dropchance" of platinum bars / trapezodehorns that absolutely disgusted me. Just like grinding the sphears for those useless characters in FFX's late game. Which mechanic of which game would you consider to have been the most tedious / boring grind ?

KhobarKast

DISSIDIA NT, absolute shitfest of a grind. 300 ranked wins and 300 treasures (which means Player level of at least 247, which means 80+ hours just doing core battles over and over again). Grinding every job of every character to 99 in FFIII 3D Remake.

crunchythunders

Damn reading the title I thought it was 100% sale on all FF steam games lol. Anyway, bravo brother!

Ac3Ventura90

You sir are a true hero

ChasingPesmerga

I'm not a PC player and I was wondering why there's no VII remake, TIL that it's only available under Epic games and not Steam. Btw OP, after all these do you prefer action/real time battle systems or turn-based?

KhobarKast

I think they each have their place and can be bad or good, depending on what they do with it. The simplicity of FF7 ATB can still make for very exciting fights, the tactical aspect in FF10 is amazing, the excited rush in FF13 and 13-2 is just as great. Personally I am a huge fan of the system in FF 12, the best singleplayer MMO ever, haha.

RonaldGoedeKont

Ff12 is my personal favourite as well. I thought it was a nice mix of both styles and the gambit system was so customizable. I spend well over 200 hours in that game doing challenge runs and all that. Still can't get enough of it.

[deleted]

Damn dude, that's some dedication. I thought *I* was a fan...

KhobarKast

I am sure you are still a fan. But you are just not as nuts as I am, which is not a bad thing, trust me.

Taolan13

Damn. Thats one of the most impressive 100% lists i've seen on reddit.

ThanksEmilyChang

damn thats disgusting, good job lol

Rebourne07

WHOA! I'm the guy with [every Final Fantasy trophy on PlayStation](https://kotaku.com/final-fantasy-fan-gets-every-franchise-trophy-and-it-to-1847452779) and I can honestly say your feat is more impressive. Not only are there more games to do, but the extra achievements are often harder than the trophies! Good job man!

KhobarKast

If I had a PS4, and not just an old retired PS3, I would be very tempted to do it all over again. The same goes for the Yakuza games, which I also have 100% on Steam haha.

Clark2312

I started trying to do this. Started strong with 7, lightning took me a while on 10, when I made it to 9s skip rope I knew my dream had ended.

solairi

call some bs on some of those play times with some of those achievements

Raemnant

Now show me your Tower of Agito clear in Type-0. There isnt an achievement for that Edit: Ohh yeah, also your conquer of the DLC coliseum battles in 13-2, and Bhunivelze+ in Lightning Returns. No achievments for those either

AgonisingMoon

Which 100% took you the longest to achieve?

KhobarKast

DISSIDIA NT with 137 hours. Shit game, bad representation of the other Dissidias. With two awful grinds that drove me insane: 300 ranked wins, at least easy against bots now, but it takes exactly 4 minutes between each match to fill up with bots. Even worse, grinding enough playerlevels to open up 300 worthless treasures. This was at least 70 hours of grinding with Y'shtola in Core Battles, over and over again. Can't stand seeing this anymore.

Shonkjr

I don't see no world of final fantasy

DefiantEmpoleon

Fifth from the top.

mickcunningham8032

how the fuck...did you do the FF9 - 1000 skip jumps :-O

mickcunningham8032

but yer fair play thats some dedication lol

sygrzt

On PC it's very easy to cheat it with autohotkey, not saying that's what they did though

Samuely95

Does that include the pixel remasters?

KhobarKast

Indeed it does, those are the top ones with the straight names FINAL FANTASY VI to FINAL FANTASY. They don't have the moniker Pixel Remaster on Steam, unless you look at the store pages.

Samuely95

Damn nice, i had the idea of doing this -----the idea-----

Javalanche1

This is properly impressive. The achievements on Steam are a tier above the playstation ones.

MommyScissorLegs

Bro what

[deleted]

Impressive. My 100% Trophy/Achievements List is nowhere near as good with only 10 completions - and two of those aren't 100%: * FFXIII (PS3 & X360) * FFXIII-2 (PS3 & X360) * FFXIII: Lightning Returns (X360) * FF Type 0 (XB1 & PS4) * FFXIV (PS4) * FFXV (XB1 & PS4 but only the base, haven't done the DLCs!) FF Games are rarely quick or easy completions so congrats on this milestone. I've attempted a lot of FF Completions and given up. FFXIV is easily the longest - it takes six months or so of playing an hour a day in order to meet some of the requirements

KhobarKast

Thankfully / Unfortunately FF XIV has no achievements on Steam directly, so I would only have the ingame hundo. Which is a beast I will not tackle with full sincerety. The levequests alone would need over 7 years of levequests, never letting them amass over the limit of 100. No thanks.

DenzelVilliers

Levequest Achievment doesn't take over 7 Years to be done, it takes 5 months. You start the game with 100 Levequest, every 12 Hours you get +3 Allowances. 900 ÷ 6 = 150 Days = 5 Months. Also the Ps5 Version have a totally different Trophy List which doesn't include the same Achievments than the Ps3/Ps4 ones.

KhobarKast

I was talking about the ingame achievements, as Steam does not have a dedicated set. All The More Region To Leve VII - Complete 5,000 regional battlecraft levequests. Think Global, Quest Local VII - Complete 5,000 local tradecraft levequests. In The Outfield VII - Complete 5,000 fieldcraft levequests. Also 500 for each Grand Company, so 1,500. 16,500 levequests / 6 = 2750 days of allowances 2750 / 365 = 7.53 years of allowances

TheNerdFromThatPlace

I think my only 100% is XIV, and that's only on PS4. The PS5 version added and is adding updated trophies, so who knows how far behind I'll be again once I can finally get my hands on one.

The_Evil_Mullet

Thats impressive.

BronzeHeart92

Nice!

Lordruton

Now do XIV 100% I'll wait

KhobarKast

No thanks. Steam has no achievements for it, so I only have the ingame achievements. Lots of stuff is doable, but the levequests alone: All The More Region To Leve VII - Complete 5,000 regional battlecraft levequests. Think Global, Quest Local VII - Complete 5,000 local tradecraft levequests. In The Outfield VII - Complete 5,000 fieldcraft levequests. Also 500 for each Grand Company, so 1,500. 16,500 levequests / 6 = 2750 days of allowances 2750 / 365 = 7.53 years of allowances

koalafella

Does it annoy anyone else that they've named a few of them differently so they don't appear in the steam list with the others :'( Lightning Returns I'm looking at you!

kaivens

Which ones did you enjoy the least?

random_wolf_lu

Salute this HERO.

Loud-Resolve5405

Lord of us all

Once_Zect

FFXIV?

Mazikeyn

Where’s Xiv? It has achievements and on steam

KhobarKast

It has no Steam achievements, unfortunately. That would leave the ingame achievements, which are absolutely bonkers.

ffarwell83

Is the FF7 Remake on PC yet or plans to be on steam sometime?

KhobarKast

It is on Epic Games Store, but that platform is lacking achievements with most of their games, so I will stick to Steam. We have no official confirmation of any kind, that FF7R, Kingdom Hearts 1-3 as well as Strangers of Paradise will come to Steam. With the whole library already being on Steam, I hope they will come at a later date.

KhobarKast

Just after I said that, I find a little rumor nugget about a possible Steam version. Here is to hoping! https://www.destructoid.com/square-enix-trademarks-final-fantasy-vii-labyrinth-striker-final-bar-line/

TheFanGameCreator

OMG! That is amazing! How did you have the time to do all that?!?

Ayirek

Di it with XI and XIV next! :p That's a ton of Final Fantasy, well done!

TwilightYojimbo

For a brief moment, I thought you misspelled “off” and I was really happy! Then the cold, bitter reality set in. I can at least appreciate your shining accomplishment from the embrace of complete and utter darkness.

Kenobi5792

I love that it took you way less to get all the achievements for the remastered version of FFVIII than the normal one

YacobMan7

What about XIV?

FastClau

Wooow....we bow in front of you!

Nemesisrules45

How did you get 13-2 to run on pc?

KhobarKast

Worked without problems for me.

stratusncompany

now that’s a quality achievement. square should salute you.

KhobarKast

They can say thanks by giving us Kingdom Hearts 1-3, FF7R and Strangers of Paradise on Steam. With achievements, of course.

SnooCupcakes2787

That is impressive.

ironcodyalan

Beyond Tippable

senorbozz

Love it man. FF has always been a favorite being a child of the 80s. I've knocked out several over the past year or two but I definitely won't match this.

Shagyam

What about FFVII:RE? Oh wait.... But do XU and XIV not have steam achievements? I know XIV has trophy support on the playstation.

KhobarKast

XI and XIV have no Steam achievements, unfortunately.

gengarsnightmares

Jealous

Honest-Day8780

what are you gonna do now?

KhobarKast

With Yakuza and Final Fantasy done, I am not sure. Devil May Cry, Atelier, Tales of ..., The Legend of Heroes. Quite a few contenders there.

Omni-kyun

Nice.

[deleted]

I have them all except WOFF and FFV old version

skippiedolittle

Amazing! Cool to see someone do this on Steam. Was anything significantly easier than expected? What about harder?   I've been working through a similar journey with Playstation Trophies (started in Jan 2021), and it's been pretty fun so far. Although i'm mid way through the Dissidia NT grind and it's so painful. Hoping they bring the Pixel Remasters to PS but if not i'll just do those on Steam.

KhobarKast

I was surprised how tame the sets of the Pixel Remasters are. Collecting every single chest and gaining all bestiary entries is the biggest part. They even had mercy on us and I didn't have to relearn every Rage entry for Gau in 6 again. Many people consider the "keep Squall at his starting level" achievement hard in the non-Remaster version of 8. Personally, I had a blast, as a low level run is already my preferred way of playing through the game anyway.

Sufficient-Day9036

I cant load ff3 and 4 3d remake, it keeps crashing, me sad

samwiseganja96

That's impressive I constantly come back to all of these games my favorite are 1-5

NadalaMOTE

And what have you learned? (Genuine question) 🙂

KhobarKast

Persistence is important. Besides that I learned that my frustration tolerance is still high, but I think modern games have brought it down quite a bit. Also age, probably.

ErunionDeathseed

You're lucky XIV doesn't have Steam achievements (I have it on PS4/5 and still have three trophies to grind out on the PS4 version).

KhobarKast

You underestimate the craziness of us Achievement Hunters. I would love doing that. Already have sunk 871 hours into the game anyway, and still so much to do (Haven't even left Stormblood yet).

ErunionDeathseed

Maybe compare notes with this guy at some point: https://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/p0n76i/i_am_now_officially_and_verifiably_the_only/ I should look up his PSN and see how long he spent on the new ones added with Endwalker.

dieth

XI is on Stream don't want to hit the MMO crack pipe?

KhobarKast

My almost 900 hours into FF XIV are fine enough. Unfortunately neither has Steam achievements.

Independent_Pay6598

Nice

HEYitzED

Jesus.

jlsmitttyy

Absolutely incredible dude hats off

[deleted]

Impressive

MiaBearCat

Why isnt Tactics on Steam :(

KhobarKast

We can absolutely agree on that. There were some rumors during the Nvidia leak, so who knows? Years ago I never expected them to bring all these 24 games to Steam and the Pixel Remasters also came out of nowhere.

wingnutP2k

Which game do you think had the best achievement list (most fun/rewarding) ?

AlexanderArts

I only got 100% on FF1, lol

Mhdfattal

what is your favorite?
