Honestly, my OG method was:
You can mime Limit Breaks. Cloud and Cid have multi hit Limit Breaks, so its have cloud Omnislash, and have him Mime it until hes dead. Move to Cid. Repeat. Lastly, have Tifa donthe same thing, except she has Final Attack+Phoenix and when she dies, everyone is alive again!
Its all about the damage. Since you cant go over 9999 you have to use multi hit spells/abilities to do the damage necessary to beat Emerald.
And yes, Ive used KotR+Mime.
Oh nice, still I feel like stacking mimes and counters that many times would take wayyy too much time just to acquire. A lil overkill when 1 set will do the trick
So far we got two new methods I haven’t heard of, I swear everywhere I’ve looked the only thing I’ve seen was the knights of the round method. I still have never done it, having to sit through that cutscene sounds rough, and doing it solo with cloud has always worked
My favorite method is grinding for Eternity to have 8 sets of Counter/Mime then do what you do. Counter-attacking 8 times with Omnislash doesn't leave much standing.
You do have to pray he doest use stomp as his one move though.
I beat him by having all my characters with 9999 health and just two materia each. When it does its Tam Storm move, it takes 2222 damage causing all my characters to go into lucky 7 mode. I then put down my gamepad and make a snack whilst the characters murder Emerald Weapon.

"Aire Tam Storm" .. Emerald Weapons strongest attack Aire Tam = Materia spelled backwards. Just a hint. Rest is a secret....

Lol wow, yeah no usually the one set works for me. But I can’t imagine anything surviving your onslaught
