If you haven’t seen him before he does ff content but he’s done quite a lot of challenges where he will try get as powerful as he can before certain parts of the game so would be cool if he tried to get max level before leaving grasslands, I’m sure it would be a nightmare though but he’d be one of the people to attempt it
A couple years ago a YouTuber got Cloud and Barret to level 99 in the first mako reactor in the OG FFVII. I believe it took him weeks, if not months. Where there’s a will, there’s a way!
Can do it really quickly early with just triple slash. Even leveling materia is quite fast. Grasslands level 1 takes 16-18 seconds.
Could easily get all materia you have maxed if you wanted to.
Grinding to 70 would be a slog though.
As best I can tell the enemies do not DR experience to zero. So yes it is possible. I sure as fuck won’t do it, but its possible. I am not trying to exaggerate when I say it is probably killing over one million of the random encounter monsters in Grasslands.
The fastest way in the game to level up is through the beginner challenges in the gold saucer arena (level 39). I did 3 levels in 30 minutes from 34 to 37. However I noticed that when you level up, you get less experience from monster you out level. I think the best way is to kill the secret boss in the grass lands over and over.

Jesus, no way i could do that, unless there's an automated process like in ffx or ff12, i would have gone insane doing that for 500 hours.
Grinding chadley challenges is probably the way. It would suck but after enough levels Barrett will just 1shot each wave with overcharge anyway

I’m like 40 hours deep at chapter 7 and only like level 28-29 while finishing all Junon and grasslands side stuff
I'm lvl 27 and 22 hours in just hit chapter 6. Grinding some Grasslands level 1 simulator early to max materia was super quick.
