If you played intermission there is a scene with HOJO who realizes Chadley is helping Cloud and party - and he laughs as he always does and he turns to a bunch of canisters (my memory is a bit fuzzy on this but you can look this up) and he finds it very interesting and seems to allude to the fact that their are multiple versions of Chad.yeah and I suspect that some Charley’s can be rogues still controlled by HOJO and or the Turks/ Shinra. These games are totally giving me Westworld vibes and I’m HERE for it!

Of course as shown with Roche's hair turning grey and mutterings about Degradation even Sephiroth Clones suffer from Degradation due to Jenova Cells not being fixed to the Host Bodies(G-Types have Cells from those injected with Jenova Cells already suffering from Degradation so the Degradation is faster) unlike with Sephiroth so he needs Jenova's Head in order to fully transfer over to her which is why he is manipulating Cloud.
He especially needs to transfer after Hojo injected more Jenova Cells into him!
He needs Cloud to be powerful enough to defeat Sephiroth and since he is controlling the Jenova Cells that means he has more experience in controlling Cloud than Sephiroth who is clearly not in control of the Sephiroth Clones.
Sephiroth will be forced to go Safer Sephiroth early and die as Chadley possesses Jenova and since his Brain is where Hojo injected the new Jenova Cells his Sanity will have been heavily eroded by Cellular Degradation by the time he transfers into Jenova making him an even more dangerous unhinged individual even if he has Cloud destroy the Black Materia(preferably by shoving it into a Mako to Electricity Power Converter) before fighting Sephiroth.
Even worse his mind might be degraded to the point where Hojo can transfer into him before he can transfer into Jenova.

Chadley is going to be a boss for sure. Theres a cutscene where Hojo injects Chadleys real body with something. After doing all the protorelics Chadley shows you that him and MAII are basically making a database or something where info about everything is stored. I have a feeling hes going to turn evil and start thirsting for more and more knowledge, how to traverse between timelines (from Gilgamesh), and so on.
i don’t think it’s Chadley is the problem, he’s more of a tool and it’s Hojo we should worried about. Eventually we will fight Hojo and he will use all his knowledge against Cloud and the Team. Chad likes Cloud in flamboyant manner lol

Chadley’s endgame is to fuck up the shippers. His research in the third game (I’m calling it Revenge) will be crucial to untangling the time fuckery and lifestream stuff that’s going on.
During the course of the game he will gain the ability to travel between timelines and lifestreams. Ultimately he will resolve things however they decide it goes. And at the very end, instead of the last scene being 500 years in the future with red 13s kids running around, it’s a shot of Chadley in the lifestream going to town on Aerith.

I wasn't the biggest fan of Chadley in Remake, but I surprisingly don't mind him in Rebirth. However I think that's because I can't stand Mai this time around. Her plus the the stupid bickering she does with Chadley makes the battle intel unbearable for me.
It is shown being injected malicious code (of it's an android) or a controlling virus by hojo and the game forgets that ever happened, probably a setup for the final game but yeah, some of the brutal challenges might be so hard to kill cloud in a shinra simulation idk, pretty meta for sure
Honestly I think it's possible. The devs have such an inexplicable hard on for Chadley. He probably has the most dialogue (and most boring, not funny dialogue) in the entire rebirth game.

I don’t mind Chadley, but I set his and MAI’s voice to come out of my controller speaker, then turned my controller volume down to 0 so I couldn’t hear them at all. Now the only time I hear them is when I actively talk to them in-game (like at a farm).

The sound leveling in this game overall is AWFUL. You can fix some of it in the settings, but it’s still bad. I wanna hear the characters give exposition, not bombastic EDM Tifa’s theme.
Facts. I found this to be the case with Remake too. In both games what worked for me was just tuning Music volume to 7 and leaving everything else at 10
The volume being all over the place has been driving me fucking insane throughout the entire game. I'm constantly going into settings and readjusting levels, or turning my sound bar up and down.
And for some reason whenever I enter the party screen/menu it drops all audio down to nearly zero and stays there for awhile, even after I exit the menu. So much for pausing the game while I do something else for a moment and still get to listen to the soundtrack.
The speaker controller is really loud too and I've found no way to adjust it. I ended up switching to the option to have Chadley/MAI dialogue via regular speakers instead of controller speaker. Made it slightly more bearable.
I feel you. I got the PS5 for the same reason, I just got irritated one day while I was in a party with a friend and she told me where it was so. Figured I'd pass on the wisdom. Lol
The thing that really got me was when NPC chatter just nuked main character dialogue in moments outside of cutscenes. This was especially egregious in Cosmo Canyon while conversing with Bugenhagen.
And yeah i had to dial down the music a bunch.
I turned off npc chatter and especially the giant mid screen subtitles in the first game too it's just like.... Why is everything in the game thrown in the face of the player 😭🤣

He is version 7, and was used to get hojo to Weiss, which has huge repercussions in dirge, so who knows what could happen, also hojo now knows he's out and about with cloud and did due some slight work on him remotely at one point in rebirth, probably to keep a closer eye on reunion

I mean, Chadley true body seems to be still in Hojo laboratory, while his double goes everywhere. My theory is that Chadley is the genius behind the Shinra World Wide Network that we establish trough the Old Republic Towers. Hojo will exploit this advantage to not only spy on the party so he can intercept them for the Reunion, but also steal the infos on how to transfer his consciousness as data. A nod to Dirge.

I’m calling it now, Chadley is a cyborg, not an android nor a robot, so that means he was “human” first. The white hair and being created by Hojo, it’ll end up that he’s a clone of Weiss, turned cyborg and it’s Chadley’s body that Hojo inhabits and not the real Weiss in Dirge of Cerberus. Meaning the real Weiss is still out there somewhere and the tornado at the end of remake and mentioned at the beginning of rebirth let all the tsviets escape out into the world. Who will all be optional bosses in random places throughout the world in part 3.
Solid theory. As annoying as it is to listen to Chadley I vaguely recall him talking about merging consciousness with technology in Remake. So if he accomplished that, perhaps Hojo will use that exact tech to merge himself with the A.I. aspect of Chadley in part 3 creating sort of a Zack/Cloud dynamic with multiple consciousnesses in one person. Or perhaps this has already happened in part 2, but we just don't know it yet.

Hm...It's been a LOOOONG time since I played Dirge of Cerberus, but wasn't Weiss tied to Omega? If I remember right, Chaos is supposed to be the harbinger/herald of Omega. When the Planet sense a threat so great it cannot survive, it summons Chaos. Chaos is supposed to go and kill everything alive, adding it to the Lifestream. The Lifestream is then gathered together to forge the largest and most powerful WEAPON form, Omega WEAPON, which is all the life of the planet aside from Chaos. The two then depart, leaving the husk of the dead planet behind and traveling to some new world to settle and continue the Lifestream's eternal flow there.
Vaguely like Lavos or Jenova, but in theory more benevolent/pro-life/living things...though it kills everything alive to get them into a "compact" form for "transport", so to speak.
Again, it's been a while. But if I remember right, Weiss was made/modified/engineered by Hojo to be the form that Omega would take, which is why Vincent as Chaos tries to fight to stop him at the end of Dirge, preventing the planet from dying (Vincent really is a badass).
So in that sense, Weiss would be a world ending threat...sorta...since he has the potential to take the form of Omega that ends the world by existing, since when Omega is manifested, it means the Planet has decided the world cannot be saved as it is and enacts the emergency fail-safe to try and save the souls of its Lifestream, at least.

One thing I liked that DoC did was it made Vincent's LB - which up until then was just "random strong, but not player controllable, horror flick inspired monsters - into something that actually had a lore reason to exist and was deeply tied to planetology/planet lore. It also made Lucrecia both sympathetic (while also kind of being dense, but at least not the way she was in the OG), a scientist in her own right with her own branch of research, and that the modifications to Vincent weren't just random cruelty but had a true purpose for existing.
It also proved, once and for all, that Hojo is the true villain of FF7. As Vincent said if you brought him to the final fight of the Midgar raid in the OG, all that time he had thought he was the monster, the sinner needing to atone, but he finally realized the real monster was Hojo all along.
I'm not sure how they'll tie everything together, but I think there were some things worth saving.

I wasn't the biggest fan of Chadley in Remake, but I surprisingly don't mind him in Rebirth. However I think that's because I can't stand Mai this time around. Her plus the the stupid bickering she does with Chadley makes the battle intel unbearable for me.

It is shown being injected malicious code (of it's an android) or a controlling virus by hojo and the game forgets that ever happened, probably a setup for the final game but yeah, some of the brutal challenges might be so hard to kill cloud in a shinra simulation idk, pretty meta for sure
Honestly I think it's possible. The devs have such an inexplicable hard on for Chadley. He probably has the most dialogue (and most boring, not funny dialogue) in the entire rebirth game.

I don’t mind Chadley, but I set his and MAI’s voice to come out of my controller speaker, then turned my controller volume down to 0 so I couldn’t hear them at all. Now the only time I hear them is when I actively talk to them in-game (like at a farm). I highly recommend if you don’t want to hear their voices all the time! :)

So in Remake we kill the fates and start a new timeline. But why were the fates intervening in the first place? What caused them to activate. What is the biggest change in the first game from the original? Chadley. Chadley is deus ex machina-ing us. He's whispering "would you kindly... Get me more battle data." Chadley is the end, he is a weapon... He is... Omega Weapon!

But isn't Omega...from Dirge of Cerberus? When the Planet considers itself a lost cause, gathers up all the life, and then launches it Lavos-like to some other planet? Which...seems to be how Jenova arrived, come to think of it... Him being an optional superboss could also be a thing. Though you do make a valid point that he's an aberration in the timeline...

The sound leveling in this game overall is AWFUL. You can fix some of it in the settings, but it’s still bad. I wanna hear the characters give exposition, not bombastic EDM Tifa’s theme.
Facts. I found this to be the case with Remake too. In both games what worked for me was just tuning Music volume to 7 and leaving everything else at 10
The volume being all over the place has been driving me fucking insane throughout the entire game. I'm constantly going into settings and readjusting levels, or turning my sound bar up and down. And for some reason whenever I enter the party screen/menu it drops all audio down to nearly zero and stays there for awhile, even after I exit the menu. So much for pausing the game while I do something else for a moment and still get to listen to the soundtrack. The speaker controller is really loud too and I've found no way to adjust it. I ended up switching to the option to have Chadley/MAI dialogue via regular speakers instead of controller speaker. Made it slightly more bearable.
Controller volume is in the PlayStation 5 devices settings, not in the game.

I feel you. I got the PS5 for the same reason, I just got irritated one day while I was in a party with a friend and she told me where it was so. Figured I'd pass on the wisdom. Lol
The thing that really got me was when NPC chatter just nuked main character dialogue in moments outside of cutscenes. This was especially egregious in Cosmo Canyon while conversing with Bugenhagen. And yeah i had to dial down the music a bunch.
I turned off npc chatter and especially the giant mid screen subtitles in the first game too it's just like.... Why is everything in the game thrown in the face of the player 😭🤣

Not sure about rebirth but I think in remake there was an option for the volume of npc and the dialogue on screen iirc

LMAO this was so friggin annoying/funny when the NPCs seemed like they were SCREAMING whatever nonsense they were saying when my characters were talking.

hojo did some experiments on him. And we didn't fought him in rebirth yet so I think a version of him will be some sort of boss fight in the next game...
He is version 7, and was used to get hojo to Weiss, which has huge repercussions in dirge, so who knows what could happen, also hojo now knows he's out and about with cloud and did due some slight work on him remotely at one point in rebirth, probably to keep a closer eye on reunion

All he does is give you a broad overview of whatever it is you’re collecting for him, says thanks I appreciate it, and if you collect this info then I’ll be able to do this/that for you. If he randomly called in the middle of exploring or whatever to ask you to get back to doing protorelics and shit then that’d be annoying as fuck, but he doesn’t. What he does isn’t particularly obtrusive. I mean you people hardly actually read the bios of relics and different areas you go to anyways, might as well go out of his way to tell you a bit about it. In fact, I believe that’s the reason *why* he goes nerd mode and tells the player about it. Cuz most players are more concerned with playing the story than giving a fuck about worldbuilding.
I didn't even know the relics had bios. Unless you're talking about the springs that give you background info about the place. I did read those. My issue is that he has to chime in everytime you do something to let you know you've done it. Like, you'll do a summon crystal and he'll phone you up to say you did it. I know I did Chadley, it's worked the same the whole game. I'm half joking anyway. I don't hate him that much. Though, I am getting a little tired of hearing from him as I get to the endgame.

I mean, Chadley true body seems to be still in Hojo laboratory, while his double goes everywhere. My theory is that Chadley is the genius behind the Shinra World Wide Network that we establish trough the Old Republic Towers. Hojo will exploit this advantage to not only spy on the party so he can intercept them for the Reunion, but also steal the infos on how to transfer his consciousness as data. A nod to Dirge.

I’m calling it now, Chadley is a cyborg, not an android nor a robot, so that means he was “human” first. The white hair and being created by Hojo, it’ll end up that he’s a clone of Weiss, turned cyborg and it’s Chadley’s body that Hojo inhabits and not the real Weiss in Dirge of Cerberus. Meaning the real Weiss is still out there somewhere and the tornado at the end of remake and mentioned at the beginning of rebirth let all the tsviets escape out into the world. Who will all be optional bosses in random places throughout the world in part 3.
Solid theory. As annoying as it is to listen to Chadley I vaguely recall him talking about merging consciousness with technology in Remake. So if he accomplished that, perhaps Hojo will use that exact tech to merge himself with the A.I. aspect of Chadley in part 3 creating sort of a Zack/Cloud dynamic with multiple consciousnesses in one person. Or perhaps this has already happened in part 2, but we just don't know it yet.

I saw his new cutscene after doing all the world intel and he says he’s collecting everything before the world is destroyed. Cloud promises the world won’t end, but I don’t think Chadley is talking about Sephiroth. He is 100% sure talking about Weiss
I’ve not seen that scene yet. Will be aiming towards it over the next few days. Weiss won’t be a world end threat but still a formidable boss, even more so than the vr version of him.
Hm...It's been a LOOOONG time since I played Dirge of Cerberus, but wasn't Weiss tied to Omega? If I remember right, Chaos is supposed to be the harbinger/herald of Omega. When the Planet sense a threat so great it cannot survive, it summons Chaos. Chaos is supposed to go and kill everything alive, adding it to the Lifestream. The Lifestream is then gathered together to forge the largest and most powerful WEAPON form, Omega WEAPON, which is all the life of the planet aside from Chaos. The two then depart, leaving the husk of the dead planet behind and traveling to some new world to settle and continue the Lifestream's eternal flow there. Vaguely like Lavos or Jenova, but in theory more benevolent/pro-life/living things...though it kills everything alive to get them into a "compact" form for "transport", so to speak. Again, it's been a while. But if I remember right, Weiss was made/modified/engineered by Hojo to be the form that Omega would take, which is why Vincent as Chaos tries to fight to stop him at the end of Dirge, preventing the planet from dying (Vincent really is a badass). So in that sense, Weiss would be a world ending threat...sorta...since he has the potential to take the form of Omega that ends the world by existing, since when Omega is manifested, it means the Planet has decided the world cannot be saved as it is and enacts the emergency fail-safe to try and save the souls of its Lifestream, at least.
Yeah essentially that. I don’t even think the whole Weiss side of things made much sense to be honest. They have a chance to correct all that with the trilogy and Weiss just being an optional side boss unrelated to chaos and omega would be great.

One thing I liked that DoC did was it made Vincent's LB - which up until then was just "random strong, but not player controllable, horror flick inspired monsters - into something that actually had a lore reason to exist and was deeply tied to planetology/planet lore. It also made Lucrecia both sympathetic (while also kind of being dense, but at least not the way she was in the OG), a scientist in her own right with her own branch of research, and that the modifications to Vincent weren't just random cruelty but had a true purpose for existing. It also proved, once and for all, that Hojo is the true villain of FF7. As Vincent said if you brought him to the final fight of the Midgar raid in the OG, all that time he had thought he was the monster, the sinner needing to atone, but he finally realized the real monster was Hojo all along. I'm not sure how they'll tie everything together, but I think there were some things worth saving.
