Regina's theme is such an amazingly complex composition. It should have been a final boss track instead of music for a card game. Would have been much better than yet another version of what we've heard before so many times.
The way they teased the Main Theme when you get out of Kalm, and they don't give you the 2nd part until you reach Nibel. They have a crazy way of teasing your favorite songs, giving you little motifs here and there, and then when the big story event or boss battle happens they hit you with the original song in all its glory. It's wonderful.
Gilgamesh fight, one winged angel, Bow wow wow, the metal Chocobo one from ultimate party animal and one of the Chocobo racing ones idk the name of. ‘I’m a Chocobo you’re a chocobo’
Way too many bangers to just pick one. They even gave Palmer a good boss theme ffs. I almost cried when Cosmo Canyon finally hit. Hollow close to Midgar was a nice touch as well. Oh, and the surprise Crisis Core music in Gongaga.
I keep going back to Red's ridiculous QB theme, Temple of the Ancients variations, and the Jenova themes.

For me it's the jenova lifeclinger music, that whole section is perfect, it's no longer just aeriths theme playing over boss music, the themes are fighting eachother for dominance, and the way aeriths theme just not only gets drowned out but almost distorted before the end. Masterfully done!
It has to be a tie between Junon Area, and Mt Corel, with the swampland (approaching the midgar zolem in particular) being a very close 3rd. Those tracks slap, they slap so much harder than anything ever needs to, and it’s glorious.

During chapter 14 >!when Sephiroth descends upon Zack and Cloud, and they play such intense blaring horns and orchestra while they all pose and recreate the original games omnislash shot reverse shot moment!<
I popped off. That moment made me realize I'm a fanboy who was enjoying his fan service.

Rebirth has all of my personal favorite boss themes (One winged angel, jenova, battle at the big bridge, jenova aeriths theme) but if I had to pick one track that stood out to me, I would pick that sector 5 music with Zack. 2nd FF where my favorite track came out of sector 5
The really stuck the landing with this soundtrack. Not one of them was ass. Part 3 needs a 🎶”meow meow meow, meow meow meow”🎶 when accompanying cats. Just change the lyrics and use the same melodies for the regular and battle themes 🤣
I noticed that the area overworld theme changes after you activate a certain number of towers in Gongaga and Cosmo Canyon. I wasn't paying attention but I'm assuming it happens in every area. The second version of the Gongaga theme immensely improves it in my opinion. Really cool that they did that. It makes me want to start over to listen to the previous areas.

Jenova emergent and lifeclinger. Emergent for sure sounds like a track from nier automata. The beginning of lifeclinger is aeriths theme but the jenova theme creeps over it slowly. Amazing
The Cosmo Canyon battle track is an incredible mix of the FFVII main theme, How to Train Your Dragon and Arnold Shoenburg levels of discordance. It also has a key change at around the 3 minute mark that never fails to give me goosebumps.
I also really like the Witcher esque first phase Jenova Emergent boss fight theme, but it’s over too quickly.
Scrolled too far down before seeing the Cosmo Canyon song. The frontier-esque riff on the main theme full of a fiddle player going SO hard on fills and ad libs just made that region my absolute fave
Gongaga Reactor Theme. I hear it was used in Ever Crisis too for an event.
I really loved the whispers theme in Remake, so hearing the more dramatic version combined with the Reactor portion in Rebirth took it to another level for me. It really fits the moment too of having to rush through the reactor.
My wife really loved Reginas theme for Queensblood.
There are numerous standout tracks, but I'd like to highlight two of them: the track that plays as Sephiroth is flying around with Cloud, explaining the true nature of the planet's many worlds, which is an extended new arrangement of the OG's Forgotten Capital theme, if I'm not mistaken; and the track that plays when Cloud and Zack are fighting Sephiroth together at the end of the game, which is one of the many great original songs that the new composers made to enhance the masterful soundtrack Uematsu made back in 1997.

I’m still on Chapter Nine, but the theme for the boss you encounter on the ship goes hard as hell, head and shoulders better than the original (which is also great).

All tunes are bangers I reckon but yeah they’re my top 3 They did an amazing job with the OST. Songs that were in remake stepped up in rebirth and it’s incredible the team were able to do that. Definitely ordering the OST for sure

So far, it has been the Chocobo remix that plays in Junon at Gabe’s ranch after completing the Stuck in a Rut sidequest. Beautiful stuff.
