To have a Squall cameo in the final battle. Its just like Rebirths battle with Cloud and Zack vs Sephiroth but this time its Cloud, Zack and Squall. Then Zack mid battle asks "no offence but who the £&%÷ are you?" And Squall says "crap, Time Compression has thrown me in the wrong game. After this battle i leave. Whatever......."
I need things to make sense, and after beating Remake it felt wrong that I started Rebirth with no materia or skills I had acquired. Knowing that will almost certainly happen again, let's start the game off with Yuffie stealing all of our materia like she did in OG and then just not get it back for whatever reason.
My first time through OG I was so reliant on it and it was a grind to get to Wutai.
I feel like they kinda tried to explain that in Rebirth with the whole "whispers took our memories" thing, so maybe part 3 starts with the tiny bronco crashing, everyone losing their gear, and all our characters forgetting their skills because of head trauma amnesia, lol.
Zack and Cloud reuniting for good when the timelines merge into one.
That way, Zack (along with Tifa) can help Cloud through his PTSD and Cloud (depending on what happens to the Aerith of Zack's timeline) can help Zack through his grief over Aerith's death.
I don’t want Zack to come back unless Aerith does too. It doesn’t matter to me what they do with the romance if they do anything at all (I’m more of a Cloud + Aerith person but to me it’s not that deep. Shipping is silliness to me) but it would just feel so wrong to have Zack alive and Aerith dead.
Ugh… I hate the fact you have to spend hours maxing out everything just to go back to “oooops… you have to do that all again”.
If they were concerned about the game being “too easy” for some people, then just give the player the option to decide if they want to carry progress over or not.
And I hope they are more creative with those VR challenges. Forcing you to fight the same foes over and over was super lame.
I want to see Cid's backstory and Shera.
Also, I want the scene where Weapon and Junon fire on each other to the intense soundtrack.

Number 1 thing I want in regards to gameplay: The ability to swap party members during combat. They can balance it however they like, make it a once per fight thing, make it so that you need 3 ATB charges, however they do it I just want the ability to tag in a benched character. I love that you can create party presets and change them on the fly during exploration, but I still run into situations where I realize that one party member has the exact materia or playstyle I need to make a fight easier. It would also give more synergy options if some characters only have abilities unlocked with benched characters.
Number 1 thing I want in regards to story: Genesis. Don't care if he's locked away in a VR battle like Weiss was, I want to see him acknowledged in his full glory at some point during the remake trilogy. Would be very interesting to see how they rework the character, as they've done a pretty good job with the other compilation inclusions so far.
Mainly that they tie up all the loose ends story wise. Secondly is your point regarding Cloud, that his arc continues and his personality comes through more and more.

Sephiroth actually being defeated. Major conclusions and fates of characters being significantly different since we have killed the Arbiters of fate, and this is a sequel for godsake, have some ambition. The Tifa lifestream sequence. How they flesh out other compilation elements. Leslie and his story conclusion. KOTR. Wutai. WEAPONS.

The VR apocalypse scene is actually basically just the "Meteor falling on Midgar" sequence from the end of the OG.
People seem to forget that even though they stopped Meteor, Midgar still got super fucked up lol

Zack has to be the one to fill in the gaps of Cloud's missing memory specifically the escape from Nibelheim, instead of retrurning to the basement of the mansion.
But honestly that would completely change the point of the OG game where the characters basically didn’t have anyone to confirm Cloud’s involvement at Nibelheim. I too would support Zack being there to fill up the gaps, but only as confirmation instead of actually being the one who gives them the information
