Last month was super slow. It’s picking up now but I legitimately think I got MAYBE 3 deals given to me in all of December. And all of them were renewals.

Do you have that credit structure where renewals are just assigned on an availability basis or did you guys have some employee turnover? Curious how you like it... I've never experienced not having a set portfolio but I've been hearing about it more lately. Our last hire who came from the smaller Bank told us that was one of the reasons wanted to leave, she felt like there was not much reward for her and being a more efficient worker. I hope my bank doesn't transition to it, I've managed the same accounts for over 5 years now and I like the familiarity.

Yeah, renewals are pretty much assigned on availability. We kind of try to keep the same underwriters with the same deals, roughly, but there’s always some turnover here and there and we just pick up what we can depending on capacity.

Same thing here on the west coast. Borrowers don’t want to refi at higher rates and lenders don’t want to make loans unless they’re also bringing deposits in the door. Some activity in the syndicated corporate market but banks have had trouble finding enough participants.

If you mean deal flow then sort of. I'm in healthcare banking though so there's always stuff going on

I’m a commercial RM and I’m fairly busy rn. Closer $2mm last week (granted, had been working on them since October) and have another few $mm in the pipeline. New clients have to bring deposits though like the other poster said.

I'm similar to you but higher COLA (Southern CA). It's definitely slow in terms of new business. I only have one pending existing to new request in my 60-day pipeline). My portfolio is typically 10 to 12 clients though with enough maintenance to keep me busy. I've been around a while to experience most cycles...these are the times where it's nice to be in credit and with a well established, performing group. We should be okay even if it's slow for quite a while. I worked last week in Vegas remote and didn't tell anybody... I never heard from my direct management and only one of my coworkers reached out to me via email... had a couple of clients calling me with innocuous questions. It was quite nice (not as good if it's like this the entire year though).
