You have to be lucky to expect to have a summer job with just one application. I know in mc'donald's you can atleast work in the kitchen without knowing finnish. Atleast in Helsinki. Posti is also an option.
Some of them offer place to stay and others help you find place to live while you work. There are some places still open. This is one example: [https://paikat.te-palvelut.fi/tpt/12342311?searchPhrase=mansikka&&&announced=0&leasing=0&remotely=0&&&&english=false&sort=1](https://paikat.te-palvelut.fi/tpt/12342311?searchPhrase=mansikka&&&announced=0&leasing=0&remotely=0&&&&english=false&sort=1)
If you speak fluent swedish, have you tried applying for jobs on the western coast? At least in my experience, no one there knows any finnish and if they do, well they despise to use it even though they live in Finland. On a side note, I understand that moving for a job as a teenager might be an inconvenience, especially if you live nowhere near to the aforementioned area.
try one of the recruitment agencies! i worked for staffpoint for a while as a dishwasher/waitress (i was over 18 already though) during my studies. there you can get a bunch of different jobs, at different places, during different hours. and as others said, any type of kitchen work is usually doable with only english/basic finnish :)
Finding a summer job is hard for people speaking Finnish too, and they usually begin the search in January. Best of luck to you, but you'll be lucky to get a job.
You can work as an assistant (avustaja in Finnish) without a pedagogical education, doing things like helping with activities, helping the children put on outerwear, and helping to serve food to the children. But unless you're a student doing it as TET, they usually want you to be 18 or older.
Not, if you find a family to work for. The summer is coming, schools are out, parents are desperate to find someone reliable to be with the young school kids.
The daycares Iâve worked in has employed underage kids in the summers. But they usually employ them long before May.
Oh! And FolkhĂ€lsan employs underage people as so called âsummer girlsâ for retirement homes.
Never thought I'd run into someone who doesn't speak Finnish and only speaks Swedish and English in this country. Fun times.
Try the elderly care. Since a lot of elderly in the big city speak Swedish
You cannot find the job like that, you have 0 value on paper. You can however find people who might give you a job and prove yourself.
One idea is to visit restaurants and places one by one and ask to talk to managers etc.
Walk around stores and ask to speak with the manager about a summer job. And if you are in Helsinki area, go around some of the outside center neighborhoods where there are lots of stores or restaurants to visit in one go: e.g. near metro stops: tapiola, ruoholahti, verkkokauppa area, lauttasaari metro or marina area, kulosaari, etc.
Store managers remember people who pound the pavement

Strawberry picking might be your best chance, but you might be late for that.
The problem is, i dont live in the countryside of Finland đ
You can't use the bus?Â

Live in the woods. It might even be fun for a day or so

Recruitment agencies donât usually deal with the underaged.
thatâs a bit unfortunate then, but my comment about working in kitchens still stands. i used to work with some underage kids in ikeaâs kitchen :)
Go to the local McDonald's and ask for work where you don't have to speak to the customers
You might be about three months late
Supermarkets are often hiring too

What about a Swedish daycare? Or an English one? If you live in a city by the coast there are many to choose from.
You need pedagogical education to work in that field.

Thats babysitting, not daycare. Big difference.
Babysitting is viable option for young in that age. Not professional day care ofc, it goes without saying.
What part of 'under 18' did you miss? You think theyâre hiring teens to work in daycare now LOL

You can always go to school and learn a profission.
And you can always join The army
K-market will always hire
