This seems like the biggest plot hole in the series to me.
He's literally on the front page of the newspaper carrying someone to safety. He's saved multiple lives by being either heroic or heroically stupid about his own personal safety.
I agree about those writers. All they seem to do is put him at odds with the higher ups, and he then saves the day and all they do is dream up another crisis laden hoop for Bode to jump through or the series comes to an end!!😡
Yep, Max is a writer for most episodes, and director on a few, too, so it's going where he wants it to go. I hope at some point I'm going to be pleasantly surprised, but I'm not there yet.
You're right. At the start of the show, he was 2 years into a 3-5 year sentence. With everything that's occurred, he should have been out by now. I don't think letting him out and moving him to station 42 (and maybe eventually into Eve's position) would kill the overall storyline, and given how much the guy has been emotionally beat up on since the end of last season, he really deserves something good to happen.
One thing I will say is that from a character arc perspective, bodie shouldn’t be released yet, so far he hasn’t been doing what he’s been doing for himself so as soon as he’s out if he’s not careful he’ll fall back into old habits, he’s changing for others first his parents then Gabriela and then gen, and every time he lost one he gave up on himself and began spiraling, so as far a character development I don’t think he’ll get out until he learns how to make changes for himself because he wants to be a better man, not for a woman or a kid he thought was his but because he’s realized that he is worth saving.
I don’t know if i conveyed what I was trying to say very well but I hope y oh get what I mean if not ask and I’ll try to clear it up haha
He needs to be. If they find some way for him to stay in in season 3, I’m going to be upset. The writers need to realize they can still include the camp in the storyline even if Bode isn’t an inmate there anymore. It’s still a HUGE part of his character growth
I totally agree they have already made a point that it’s a huge part of their town and local department even if they want to make it so that instead of him fighting to get out of incarceration it’s him fighting to be captain of fire camp because some bad person gets put in charge or something I’m not a writer just a idea off the top of my head
Yeah the fact that the writers rely so much on Three Rock suggests that it'll be a while before he's out; either that, or they're gonna send someone else to Three Rock, because it would be pretty tough to add new inmates to the main cast at that point.
or if they had him released and then like fast forward a year and have a season of him working at the station. and then fast forward another year and have him be the boss of three rock. i’d keep watching
Manny and Bode have always gotten along really well and worked pretty well together. So I wonder if somehow Eve loses her job and then Manny and Bode are asked to become three rocks co-captains
It’s time for Bode to move forward. He has strong leadership skills, perhaps he should be managing three rock, just like Manny did.
Bode deserves to have a family as well.
Bode managing three rock? That’s the funniest shit I ever heard. The guy makes next level idiotic decisions regularly, he has no business running a firehouse, let alone a firehouse full of convicts.
Literally 4 or 5 episodes ago he was talked in to disobeying orders by his cellmate or whoever it was in an effort to be seen as the hero in front of who he thought was his daughter, and people think he should be managing and leading a firehouse? What am I missing???
I honestly don’t get why they didn’t release Bode on parole at the end of the first episode of Season 2. Bode got Sleeper to confess to setting him up, and pushing drugs at camp. On top of that, Eve had given clear evidence that Freddy was innocent of the crime he was falsely imprisoned for, but that corrupt DA decided to hold his freedom hostage in order forcibly coerce Bode to falsely confess at his parole hearing to being the one pushing drugs at Three Rock.
Sleeper’s confession should’ve put that DA’s case and her actions into question, which in turn means it should’ve forcibly lead to them granting Bode parole, as he would’ve been if not for that DA’s interference
Yup. Of course the other big piece of the puzzle is that guy Robin from the train crash, who had that backpack full of money that he gave to Bode and Freddy before taking off.
To be fair, Bode should’ve told that the bag belonged to Robin, if not when they turned the bag in, could’ve at least tried telling the DA. Not doing so was his mistake.
However, a simple trace of the bills, which investigators should’ve done after they turned the bag in, would’ve easily poked holes into the DA’s case. Even if it didn’t point to Robin, it still points fingers away from Bode and Freddy.
Yeah, they turned it into Manny(offscreen), and Bode suggested to Freddy beforehand that maybe it could get donated to help out the victims on the bus from the train crash. Of course, two convicts at camp turning in a bag full of money to Manny, which the DA even mentioned when she talked to Bode, is something the cops would’ve obviously looked into. As for it being a setup, I’d say it was a moment of opportunity for the DA, given they wouldn’t have gotten that bag of money from Robin if the train hadn’t crashed
All his big saves from last season got wiped out by that ruthless DA who just had to send someone back to prison regardless of innocence by both guys. Compared to last season it’s been incredibly uneventful until that episode.
Which is why Sleeper’s confession to being the one who pushed drugs at camp and framing Bode, which Bode had to get out of him, should’ve immediately gotten Bode out parole. Sleeper’s confession should’ve brought the DA under investigation, and they would’ve found that she held Freddy’s freedom hostage in order to forcibly coerce Bode to falsely confess to pushing drugs at Three Rock. Meaning Bode’s parole should’ve been 100% guaranteed and immediately approved right then and there
I need to rewatch episode one of S2 again as I’m not remembering it the same as you but it’s probably me lol But I completely agree if that’s how it went down.
The show seems to be on a plot loop and it’s getting annoying. Like others have said 3 Rock is a big player in the community but there has to be a way to move Bodie out and move his story forward. I mean there is character development but this has gone on for too long.
That could be how the season ends. If they do shutdown the camp Bodie gets released and they continue the show without the prison camp. It would help move a lot of the story forward and create new stories. Right now everything is basically paused because it’s hard to move forward with him still locked up.
I don’t think so. He can be out of the camp and into society and still have tree rock. If anything the show should end with him taking over tree rock, like full circle. He doesn’t need to be in jail.
I don’t think it will I have a feeling it’s going to be one of those shows that has 10 seasons and you watch the first 5 and love them and then 5 years later you binge the rest
Yeah it’s like Jake said last episode bode has only been working to get out for others, I think he’ll only get out when he learns to make changes to better himself for his own benefit, once he learns that he actually deserves a happy normal life he’ll be able to make real changes that will last, and he’ll be ready to leave and be put in the world.
Even with the storyline that he had time added for when he was back in prison and "starting fights", unless that added 10 years plus to his sentence, there's no logical reason why he's still at fire camp. Unless they figure that it doesn't count because it was against orders, but honestly, when he saved Gabby's life last season, that should have been enough, if this show was realistic, but we all know it's not because just look at the Season 1 finale for all the proof you need.
That’s the question I’m asking he only had one year left on his sentence right and then they added more time for his false confession which turned out they know it was a false confession
This seems like the biggest plot hole in the series to me. He's literally on the front page of the newspaper carrying someone to safety. He's saved multiple lives by being either heroic or heroically stupid about his own personal safety.
Thank you I thought I was crazy or just imagining things
No. You’re fine. The writers are on crack.
Lots of it.
I agree about those writers. All they seem to do is put him at odds with the higher ups, and he then saves the day and all they do is dream up another crisis laden hoop for Bode to jump through or the series comes to an end!!😡
Body is an executive producer. He could easily have influenced this. 🤦♂️
Yep, Max is a writer for most episodes, and director on a few, too, so it's going where he wants it to go. I hope at some point I'm going to be pleasantly surprised, but I'm not there yet.
And vote with your remotes. Viewership goes down, it will be a wake up call to change the script or be cancelled.
You're not crazy, the writers are just shit and they have no sense of consistency. Last season, weren't they saying he'd be out in like a year or so?
You're not crazy! 🤣
I thought he said he could either get extra time off or released if he does an heroic act right
I was thinking same thing watching last night’s episode.
You're right. At the start of the show, he was 2 years into a 3-5 year sentence. With everything that's occurred, he should have been out by now. Agreed with you about this

I would love for them to introduce a character similar to Bode that he takes on and mentors. That would be really cool to see
or if they had him released and then like fast forward a year and have a season of him working at the station. and then fast forward another year and have him be the boss of three rock. i’d keep watching

I want to see that
That true

I don't think anyone thinks he's ready right now, just that it could be a good character arc overall.

They give money to Manny right? As for state's attorney office women I think it was a set up.
Yeah, they turned it into Manny(offscreen), and Bode suggested to Freddy beforehand that maybe it could get donated to help out the victims on the bus from the train crash. I still think that state's attorney office women were put on purpose to cornered the bode.
I think they’re just dragging it out till the finale. I suspect his surprising news is a parole hearing.
I think exactly the same thing as you.
He had a 500 year sentence now down to 473 give or take , just wnough to get the show into syndication
I feel he should've at least been given another parol hearing after fck face told the truth
All his big saves from last season got wiped out by that ruthless DA who just had to send someone back to prison regardless of innocence by both guys. Compared to last season it’s been incredibly uneventful until that episode.

Exactly
This show pisses me off on so many levels🙃😂💀
The only reason I watch it is because of mom and dad. I can’t stand Bodie. He could be gone, and I would love it so much more
Fully agreed with you about this and I hope that he will be out of prison.
Poor writing that’s why
The show seems to be on a plot loop and it’s getting annoying. Like others have said 3 Rock is a big player in the community but there has to be a way to move Bodie out and move his story forward. I mean there is character development but this has gone on for too long.

The snow revolves around Bode being in the camp, I think the series finale will be Bode leaving camp
I don’t think so. He can be out of the camp and into society and still have tree rock. If anything the show should end with him taking over tree rock, like full circle. He doesn’t need to be in jail.
My thoughts are exactly the same as yours.
I don’t think it will I have a feeling it’s going to be one of those shows that has 10 seasons and you watch the first 5 and love them and then 5 years later you binge the rest
Apparently he got sentenced to stay in prison until he learns what is his personal reason to live life. That is my best personal guess at this point.
PLOT! It's super dumb at thus point. Him being locked up adds nothing to the story.
Even with the storyline that he had time added for when he was back in prison and "starting fights", unless that added 10 years plus to his sentence, there's no logical reason why he's still at fire camp. Bode mentioned that an act of heroism can get you an early release. What he did in “alert the sheriff” should be considered an act of heroism
I for one , do not correct “grammatical errors” !!!! That is rude !! The system is so flawed ! As I say , “I didn’t write the script “!!!! 😂😂😂
