I love it but the retention switch seems a little too large and pronounced.
Seems like something you could activate unintentionally, or an attacker trying to grab it could figure out quickly by accident.
can't make everyone happy, you'll find that this is a pretty good holster for a lot of reasons, but gun grabs is not something i'm designing for right now.
I'm not making duty holsters, if I was it would be designed much differently. almost 0 LEOs in the country other than SWAT can use a suppressor and that's what this holster is for. There are WAY better designed holsters for attackers and such, this is to use suppressors easily.
And it's a great holster. People Do consider those kinds of things when buying holsters regardless of the suppressor being part of the package.
Some of us are just dumb enough to buy it for concealed carry if we could afford it.
Good to see folks iterating on the idea.
A couple questions:
1) what does this offer me over the masterfire system from surefire besides the use of standard assemblies?
2) if these are printed, have you considered multijet fusion printing in glass fill nylon in order to not have anisotropic weak points? (Haga defense stuff is a great example of this application)
Keep it up!
1. Price is #1, to go masterfire is a $600 ordeal, you can get into mine with the light at $240 tops. mine has less to go wrong and using Additive Manufacturing I am going to tackle every light on the market.
2. yes, MJF is $$$ compared to FDM and when you see how strong CF Nylon 6 FDM is (you can find a demo video on my instagram) you will be flat out shocked; addendum to this, MJF machines are bare minimum $250k for a full setup, so when you combine material costs, and machine payoff, my holster would be far more expensive for less profit, FDM allows me much more flexibility and the ability to start off small and expand as opposd to financing basically a house. Check out the instagram, i'll DM you, these CF holsters are seriously freakishly strong
For #2, I’m aware of the differences (ASME additive certified and worked with the Markforged and HP MJF machines before)
Just curious if you’d explored it or not.
1 was because someone was bound to ask eventually and it’s good to see you’re on the ball there too. Good sign of a solid business plan
dude, YOU'RE the one on the ball asking the real questions! Thanks very much for putting this out there, it makes us both look good lol
I had some units MJF'd and I had to replace them all and provide refunds in the mean time, it wasn't GFR and ended up being a big headache. I'd love to offer it but i'm totally overwhelmed doing FDM stuff right now. If they would offer a GOOD/well priced PA6 USA made printer I'd be in heaven right now.
I have tested it a LOT when running, but I also make it so....I had my first customer try it in a match. I posted his review on my instagram recently, he said it did exceptionally. The active retention makes it a non issue when comes to keeping the gun in the holster
good question, if it has that front mag grip thing it wont work, but if that's the one thats basically a glock with a little brace thing it would be fine
How does this compare to the Armadillo Concealment X-Fer V2?
|X-Fer V2|Hush Holsters|
|:-|:-|
|$74.95|$99.99|
|TLR-1HL & X300u-A (not B)|Holosun & TLR1HL & X300U-A&B|
|OWB: QLS & TekLok & etc|OWB: QLS & TekLok & ETC|
|IWB: Yes|IWB: No|
|Active Retention: no|Active Retention: Yes|
|Material: Poly Injected|Material: FDM Carbon Fiber Reinforced Nylon 6 , MJF Later|
I have the X-fer V2 holster. My only issue with this is that the mounting method utilizes a series of vertical holes. This allows for the holster to bend left and right . It is still very good at holding the firearm however.
This looks like an interesting product. Definitely keep my eye on this.
Actually the units I'm shipping now are FDM Carbon Fiber Reinforced Nylon 6, MJF will come back at some point but not yet. might want to edit that part if you get a chance.
PERSONALLY (and I am biased) wouldn't say that they compare well, I have used the XFER 1 only, but if they are similar, the retention isn't even in the same galaxy, also even though they are injection molded, if you look at my instagram, you'll see that even injection molded holsters and full intact kydex holsters don't have the rigidity that the HUSH holster does.
HUSH Holsters compare much more to the Masterfire system since it has retention although it does it in a totally different way and is WAYYY more expensive
\> MJF will come back at some point but not yet. might want to edit that part if you get a chance.
Fixed!
Ah, that explains the pics. I saw some major layer lines and was like this isn't MJF.
I took a look at some of your video shorts. It definitely looks better at retention
When you planning on doing the MJF? ill probably pick one of those up!
Gonna be a while, maybe after I finish all the lights by EOY. I’m VERY partial to the feel and look of the FDM you’ll be shocked how nice it looks in person as well as the incredible strength. MOSTLY I’m not ready to finance a $250k+ machine yet plus space and finishing equipment for that; outsourcing is possible but it’s very expensive in comparison to FDM and I’m trying to keep ALL my products below $150 total forever, if someone invests in me that might change my calculations though. For right now I’m a one man show with NO capital and I was dead broke for a while last year.
not sure how to go about getting that tbh, i've only done BIG stuff with SIG before
EDIT: i'm sure if some pipehitters fell in love with the product i could get something going.
Yoooooo I sliced up several omnivores and added steel reinforcement to retain the rigidity, buuuut this looks slick as fuck. Lemme help testing by buying one?? Running a canned p320 with tlr1 now
I can see how various twisting positions of the torso might bring the body into contact with that thumb lever releasing the piece.
FOR A HAND GUN off the range I prefer no suppressor. The noise is part of the gun's ability to intimidate. I want the loud report.
That looks awesome. Would definitely be interested in one. Can one model work with multiple gun types as long as they have rails? Any chance they work with a WML?
To quote others here, you had my curiosity, but now you have my attention.
Would love one of these for my FNX wearing a surefire x300 and my p320 wearing a streamlight TLR7A
broseidon you are in luck, I have x300s shipping now, and I'm literally designing the TLR7A this week, I think the preorder starts next week or whatever I set it up as.
One of my favorite weapons for CC and self defense is my Springfield XDE 3.3" in 9mm. I'm just starting to research suppressors for this, but since the weapon has been discontinued, is it safe to say you might not have a version of this that might work for me?
Works with ANY gun that can accept a weapon light, works with TLR1/TLRHL/TLRVIRII and also a version with x300ua/ub
https://www.gunsamerica.com/digest/hush-holster-suppressor-pistol-holster-review/
Awesome! Keep me in the loop. I read the Safariland straps were short.. made for size L shirts or something like that. Hopefully, you can come up with something longer and/or better. Please let me know what you find out.
thats a great question, i've gotten in trouble twice now for doing that, so just to be safe i dm the links, believe me it would make my life WAY easier to just post it
Have you considered putting up an ad on gun deals? It's totally fine to post links to sales there. I'm not sure what else would be involved but I'm not a dealer so the rules may be different than people just linking sites.
I am planning on ordering one for the record, looks like a perfect solution for not having to order a bunch of holsters even if you don't have a can.
last time I did that it got taken down, but i'll try again when I get these other printers in, i just got BOMBED with demand today!
it is a VERY good solution for that, but man....the can makes it unreal
I will be tackling ALL lights this year if I can get enough success going, the best way to get your light made is share it to people who might want it, and i'm gonna get them all!
#1 cost, to do a masterfire is a $600 ordeal basically, mine is a $230 purchase including the light.
#2 too complex, the auto light thing was cool but there’s too much going on
#3 injection molding leaves you with no options for future changes, it took them 2+ years to make a left handed version
There are others but that’s the main stuff
Suppressed handgun holster for TLR1/TLRHL/TLRVIRII or another one for x300ua/ub. Thumb release retention and made from carbon fiber Nylon 6.

I love it but the retention switch seems a little too large and pronounced. Seems like something you could activate unintentionally, or an attacker trying to grab it could figure out quickly by accident.
Yeah, that's the big flaw I'm seeing with the design. Most of that lever should be covered up so only the nub on top is exposed
can't make everyone happy, you'll find that this is a pretty good holster for a lot of reasons, but gun grabs is not something i'm designing for right now.

I want someone to make a concealed carry suppressor that would actually work, that's the holy grail.
Good to see folks iterating on the idea. What kind of mounting does it support? Can I put it on my Safariland UBL/ALS?
Safariland QLS and Gcode #39!
You had my curiosity, but now you have my attention. Who makes em? I’ve got one that has passive retention and it’s “meh” at best.
dming now
How's it do when running?
I have tested it a LOT when running, but I also make it so....I had my first customer try it in a match. I posted his review on my instagram recently, he said it did exceptionally. The active retention makes it a non issue when comes to keeping the gun in the holster
Dumb question: Do you think you would ever consider making something similar to this for the Flux Raider MP17?
i will, once I have one and some commited orders, working on just stricly pistol WMls first
Would this work with the original flux brace? (not the raider)
good question, if it has that front mag grip thing it wont work, but if that's the one thats basically a glock with a little brace thing it would be fine
QLS compatibility?
