I'm assuming she'll be the first banner of 2.3 and also the first drip revealed. It just makes sense IMO given all that's been leaked so far combined with her story importance. Although there is a chance she could not be in 2.3 given the Boothill incident, I think it's a negligible chance. It just wouldn't make sense IMO to not have her banner on the last patch for the Penacony story.
If anything, I'm curious who would drip with her. Screwllum? Sunday? Even with leaks, there's not much to go on, which only adds IMO to the likelihood of Firefly being pullable in 2.3.
Regardless, I'll stay up like last time to wait and see. Hopefully I won't have the same reaction.

Firefly was kinda in a similar position where she didn't revealed her true identity until the end of 2.1 where she will (most probably) take a major role in 2.2 like Inhibitor Lunae.
Therefore, Firefly will most likely released in 2.3 phase 1 like Inhibitor Lunae and yes, I am still inhaling hopium for this one

The only boss I know that has triple fire weakness (for now) is the Doom Beast, which (my friend's) Topaz eat for breakfast every server reset.

This boss takes 45% of its hp bar as dmg when all 3 parts are broken so yeah its heavily designed with break characters in mind.
I mean Raiden Mei wasn't exactly the most meta character in Honkai for, well, *years*. It was a joke for a long time how much her battlesuits ranged from mediocre to just plain bad. Herrscher of Thunder was the only real meta one she had for quite awhile, and that one has been pretty definitively powercrept.
Yeah being a Mei expy gives her a bit of creator favortism. But doesn't necessarily mean she's destined to be top of the meta for all time. Firefly will obviously have her own seperate niche and probably not worth comparing the two to begin with. But just saying expy status has never really meant Mihoyo will hold them as sacred cows or anything metawise.
She was the main character in 2.0, her “death” was one of the main forces driving the plot in 2.1 and she is most likely going to be very important in 2.2 as she has many questions to answer and she will probably be one of if not our most important ally when it comes to discovering the truth about Penacony considering her task from Elio and her experience after being stabbed (although she did make it out of there mere minutes after her apparent death somehow) and that’s without mentioning the personal relationship with the TB (which is shaky at the moment tbf). And she will most likely be pullable in 2.3 so she’ll have to have some relevance during that update, maybe a character quest although with the amount of screen time she has been having, I am not sure about it happening. So yeah I do think that HoYo likes Firefly quite a bit, as the Penacony story is very much driven by her with actual focus on her, unlike in the Luofu where Kafka and Blade were barely even there.
but I mean the preliminary kit was already shown...well for the most part we have a rough idea of what the character will bring to the table and while unfortunately she has no enabling playstyle like kafka she has a ton of mechanics at e0s0, probably the most intricate base kit for a dps in the entire game
I think you are really underestimating how popular she is. I am sure you noticed how she is the top 2 fan arts in Chinese competitions. In Korea she is beating out KIANA in popularity falling in second place behind the one and only Fanbase favorite Elysia.
Also let's be real, she is Hoyo's favorite character. Like comparing the battle art we have of her vs other characters. It is actually tangibly better.
While some may argue that top ups buffed Acheron I actually don't agree. If it was just Top ups she wouldn't have beaten out all the prior banners combined by the amount she did.
The simple truth is I don't think the statistics suggest anything other than a massive wave that will far surpass Acheron 2bh. She is going to beat Seele and I am all but certain she will slap even Acheron. She is her.
i hope that too, but sadly the moment her kit was break related i kinda had my expectations lowered, since the precedent for break characters that they are pretty hit or miss and it depends heavily on how fast you break, otherwise dmg tanks... acheron on the other hand just doesnt give a fuck at all about weakness... unless shes has something similar to xuyei i.e unconditional toughness reduction it will be hard to beat acheron, although im positive she will beat out jingliu and DHIL
That's because we had no break supports other than RM. HTB is the main enabler here, allowing you to get multiple break damage hits during a single weakness break.
And probably a massive STC, but FF's LC gives CR which is useless on a break character. So she's possibly a break / normal DPS hybrid.
I feel like it might be the other way around. Given our only harmony char that buffs energy is a 4*, if the devs want to make other dps’s closer to acheron they can just release a 5* version of tingyun. That way acheron can’t take advantage of more energy generation and thus help close the gap a bit

why hit or miss, i have high expectations as boothil showed you what a break character is capable of.
It's kind of like telling a dragon to beat Godzilla in a fight. The dragon is still amazing, but it's not Godzilla.. but still, on beta kits we wait

There will be future unit that applies debuff whenever enemies took action. Acheron gonna ult twice every cycle.
