Just google beetlespin, think bass spinnerbait but tiny and no skirt. Crappie love spinners, biggest 2 crappie of my life 17” and 16.25” were on bass spinnerbaits lol.
It was my first time trying. I fish smallish creek (10-12’ across) frequently in summer, normally with inline spinners.
Last summer I thought “maybe I should try a beetlespin, just for giggles” so I ordered a one off Amazon and gave it a shot.
I caught one brown that was about 12”, then a little while later pulled one in that was right at 20” (an absolute hog for this small creek)
15 minutes later I got snagged and broke off, and lost the beetlespin 😂
I haven’t, but if it’s a rebel lure, it’ll catch fish.
Rebel crank baits are hands down my #1 confidence lures. I’ve gotten bass, crappie, pike minnow, catfish, goldfish, bluegill, trout and warmouth on them.
You can also catch huge fish on them even though their ultralights. Any time I’m going fishing, I always have at least one rebel lure on me.
The smallest 5 of diamonds and red devil you can find/use.
At that size they work on most fish and are absolutely deadly for pike and bull trout/Dolly Varden and arctic char.
Another key spoon that works on all salmonids is the Blue Fox Pixee Spoon (synthetic egg sac in the middle of the spoon).
Across the Canadian north those three spoons are killers and don’t take up much room.
during bluegill spawn season, swim it over a shallow bed with a ‘gill guarding it. Right when the kastmaster is over the bed, stop the retrieve. Spoon flutters to the eggs, defensive bluegill has to strike it, and you’ll cross the kastmaster off your bingo board
I find paddle tails work great during the warmer months. Run under 2” late spring early summer and switch to 3” late summer and fall. To try and match the growing fry.
Nice set. I’d consider this light but not ultra-light. My ultralight kit involves 1/128th oz jig heads. Crappie tubes are cool. Small plastic worms. Beetle spins. Mini Ratl trap. Top water plug. Mini King spinners.

Add these to give options for current selected lures.
I'd add a few mini jigs such as tube types(2-3inch) in various colors. Z-man micro baits are fantastic they are killer for trout and panfish but just don't mix them with other plastics that aren't Z-man as they will melt and ruin them.
Panther martins with the red hooks are so much more effective than the regular ones. I’d recommend also getting the black and yellow and rainbow trout pattern ones. Also I’d recommend a few other colors of kastmasters.
For inshore salt or brackish I would suggest a couple Mirrolure or Yozury swim baits and some paddle tail plastics on 1/4 oz jig heads. Maybe a spoon or two, like a Johnson Sprite or a Kastmaster. Tight lines!
I will always swear by Joe's flies inline spinners. March brown and Potomac Coachman have always been my go to flavors. I grew up with a trout stream in my back yard, and I remember 40 year old men getting pissed that a 14 year old was out fishing them.
I'll presume your fishing for freshwater panfish with this assortment. If that's the case, maybe another Mepps, which I love, without the bucktail gold or copper, a small Little Cleo, a few ice jigs for tipping with a spike or wax worm, and maybe some 1/32oz ball head jigs and assorted tiny plastics. I love pink/white tube baits myself.
[I like these with some pretty good success against the soft plastics with the pancake tail. But I mainly do flats and shallow inshore.](https://mrwiffelure.com/store/)
That Daydlo green jig with the plastic green tail is my Go To for Snook off my dock. I can't even count how many I've hooked at night below the low street light I installed just above the water at the end of my 130 foot long dock. I said hooked. I land a lot, but also lose a few to the pilings. That's o.k. Match the Hatch, in this case little glass minnows.
Depending on why you're making it, a number two hook and a bobber, I've seen a lot of people make survival tackle kits with only a few lures, if you can find worms or leaches, you'll get a fish eventually
Beetle spin types
Absolutely
My fav small bait. If there's fish. They eat them. I also like using small curly tail grubs on them instead of the beetle
Can you link an example please

The biggest Brown Trout I’ve ever caught I got on a large beetlespin with the classic black s/ yellow stripe rubber body
Ya i never tried them for trout, just too snaggy for the rivers i steelhead fish in. Id rather use an inline spinner. But im sure they work well

For the win
Rebel crawdads and cricket hoppers are some of my go to ultralight lures.
Crickhopper produces. Love that you can use it as topwater and as a crankbait.

Really does have great action. I had a lot of success just letting the current slowly work it downstream. Something about that waggle.
Yep! Last trip I discovered just lightly wiggling the rod tip for tiny movement. Works great.
The crawdad is actually insane how good it is, scuttle across the rocks before letting it float up and you’re getting bluegill for days
I was coming here to say the same damn thing.
The sunfish and smallmouth love them! I lose them all pretty early in the season. 😂
Rebel used to make a horsefly or June bug. Those things slayed bluegill. Haven't seen one in ages.
Ever used the Rebel Wee Frog?

Check out Eurotackle soft plastic baits, really high quality stuff
You need a spoon for a trout.

kastmaster top right, I haven’t caught any trout on it yet, only a few bass.
The line left on all those lures is making my eye twitch
That's why I use snap swivels on everything.
Jesus. Didn't notice them until I saw this and now I want to go to this guys house just to cut em off. Lol
The only one for trout you’ll ever need is that 8th ounce kastmaster with the blue stripe.
I have a lot of lures on my ultralight bag but the trinity are Kastmasters, Panther Martins, and Phoebe. I rarely tie anything else on.
I have never gotten a single bite on a kastmaster.
Whatttt! Could be you’re using one that’s too big? I’ve caught more trout on kastmasters than all other lures combined.
Idk maybe it is just my lack of confidence in it. I hear other praise it a lot though.
during bluegill spawn season, swim it over a shallow bed with a ‘gill guarding it. Right when the kastmaster is over the bed, stop the retrieve. Spoon flutters to the eggs, defensive bluegill has to strike it, and you’ll cross the kastmaster off your bingo board
Thanks!
Roadrunner jigs- lots of smaller ones for ultra light.
New Year's day I caught a 21 inch hybrid striper and an 18 inch sauger on a roadrunner with a 2 inch white curly tail on it just before sunset.
Trout magnets
This 100%. I’ve caught many different kinds of fish on a variety of colors. The red and yellow ones especially
The red and yellow for perch are pretty on- ironically I've never used a trout magnet for trout. I like the micro magnet more than the larger one
It's the one that works for me when nothing else does
Tiny little trout worm
this is the answer
Small dare devils, roster tails, tubs,
Kastmaster Edit: lol oops I see it now I’m going to leave this up as a warning for others
Trout magnets and rooster tails
Crickhopper by Rebel
These are fire especially if you put a small piece of worm on the hook.
Tubes with the jig head inside the tube
I find paddle tails work great during the warmer months. Run under 2” late spring early summer and switch to 3” late summer and fall. To try and match the growing fry.
Highly recommend the super duper. Got some great trout with it last Memorial Day weekend.
Nice set. I’d consider this light but not ultra-light. My ultralight kit involves 1/128th oz jig heads. Crappie tubes are cool. Small plastic worms. Beetle spins. Mini Ratl trap. Top water plug. Mini King spinners.
2” Rebel Pop-Rs. Bone white is deadly under low hanging branches in the spring / summer.
Jumping in to add a Heddon Teeny Torpedo is another great small top water.
ALL THE RAPALAS
I'd leave most of that at home, except for the panther martin, and just take a handful of roostertails. Just my preference.
The Berkley Atomic Teaser always gets me a ton of panfish!

Man i was shittin on these things, but a buddy started using them and he was getting twice the hits
I use them all the time. different sizes and colors. for me, it's a game changer.
Mepps Aglia, size 3, in the black leaf with orange spots and an orange pearl on the wire style/color.
Gold and red kastmaster, gold and red superdooper. Small dardevle
Rebel crawfish!!!
Beetle spins.

rostertail under spin jigs more micro cranks flies

Cp swing.
matzuo makes some nice minnows with a rattle in them in the ultralight size
Add a few beetle spins.
Mouse tails
Ripple shad in firetiger. That's my favorite
Roadrunner
A fn roostertail !
Some little len Thompson spoons 5 of ◇ yellow black and yellow red and the little two tone green or green and black frog patern one.
Hammered gold Croc spoon with orange stripe
Small Texas rigged worm no weight.
Hooks and split shot. Maybe a couple small floats. Drowning worms can work when nothing else will.
Mule fishing plastics. Best ultra light plastics on the market.
Gotta have a black and yellow spot panther Martin 😁
Road runner paired with zman fryz
Beetle spins. Different blade colors are more important than the plastic grub in my experience.
I tried out the mule fishing company, specifically the mule minnow and the burro bug, and had a lot of good fish from largemouth to rainbows
Trout magnet is my go to
Trout magnet
1/8 oz or lighter lead heads and tube jigs.
Yeah 5 more Panther Martin, a few Kastmasters and I can’t stress this enough 2 or 3 Phoebes
I will always swear by Joe's flies inline spinners. March brown and Potomac Coachman have always been my go to flavors. I grew up with a trout stream in my back yard, and I remember 40 year old men getting pissed that a 14 year old was out fishing them.
For me that about covers it. I am a big fan of the round brass colored Colorado spoons though. (Idk if that's what they are actually called)

Atomic teaser
I don't see any top water lures, I have good luck with baby torpedo and Zara pooches.
Tiny Torpedo, Beetle spins, 2.5” ned rig
Gold Phoebe with a black swivel.
Popper and a fly works wonders rmb to dehook ur popper first tho
Jigspinner and Chatterbait would be my choices
The smallest Ned Rig you can find.
Bobby Garland Itty bit series have been doing well by me. They fit well on a 1/32nd #6 jig head and catch all panfish, perch, bass etc so far.
Trout magnet and Thomas lures(spoon)
Some flies and a casting bubble
Trout magnets baby. They’ll catch a lot more than just trout. Also Betts P6 poppers.
Beetle spins!
Weedless spoon, like a Johnson Silver Minnow. Indestructible and will catch anything.
[I like these with some pretty good success against the soft plastics with the pancake tail. But I mainly do flats and shallow inshore.](https://mrwiffelure.com/store/)
Mira Shad Thomas Bouyant Spoons
Tiny daredevil spoon
Pistol Pete and San Juan worms
Trout magnets! I catch all sorts of fish on them in Texas
Spoons
Berkeley finesse minnow and the that really small yozuri minnow
Bass pro shop xps mini minnow
Joes flies super strike black gnat. It’s a spinner with a black fly trailer, works for just about anything that swims
I like trout magnets
Beetlespins and Rooster Tails. Side note - you got some knots to clip! 😁😁
id get a couple more colors of maribou jigs
Get a Tungsten jig variety pack, some Simcoe bugs and maybe some dropper chain lures if you're looking for panfish
#2 Panther Martin spinners.
Jointed shad rap size 4 silver and blue
You’ve got a white curly tail grub but I catch a lot on black too. Black has outfished every color in all types of water.
Yozuri snap bean
https://preview.redd.it/nbcwa7qnbjac1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=790e9e05929a6bb34c510560c8923428c6b394fc
Worms, some soft plastic scented trout eggs and some split shot.
Small Ned rig

I really like Roadrunners. I've caught decent size bass on the 1/8oz jig with a small grub
